Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin!

Theo groaned loudly; Wynd had intercepted the pass to him. "For Merlin's sake!" he shouted, shooting towards Wynd as he prepared to pass. "Stop making my life so difficult, Lehane," he growled under his breath, trying to control his temper. This game was not, in any way, looking up for Ravenclaw, and Theo could feel the pressure beginning to build on his shoulders.

Gabe just sighed as the game seemed to be getting grimmer for the Ravenclaw team. So far they hadn't scored yet and Slytherin had already scored twice. The only bright side was that the Slytherin seeker hadn't yet found the Snitch. One of the Chasers on the Slytherin team was starting to get particularly annoying just because of how good he was playing. Gabe just leaned into his broom and made his way closer to the Slytherin with the Quaffle hoping to at least help someone steal it from him.

Harley smirked, seeing the Slytherin Beater, the other one that he wasn't constantly defending and deflecting. T...Ty? Something like that. The name didn't matter much, but he smiled as he had failed to deflect the Bludger E had sent him, but his smile turn quickly into a scowl at the Seeker dodged it. He felt a small growl come form his chest but the Bludger that surged past his head and toward his little Seeker had interrupted. He turned sharply and flew toward Willard. "Willard! Incoming!" he warned before swinging his bat a the Bludger.

Catching the Quaffle pass from Keeper to Chaser was the easy part. Getting past the swarm of angry Chasers was another thing. All three of the Raven Chasers descended upon him as if going in for the kill. Wynd had to think quickly. If he could swerve left and then roll into a barrel going up he could come out of the fray undamaged, still holding the Quaffle and be free to pass to Maggie. The three Raven Chasers didn't give him time to think about it. Didn't give him time to asses his surroundings. It was now or never. Just do it.

The snitch still wasn't in sight! It was starting to get brutal on the Quidditch field, even Josephine could feel the tension coming from the Ravenclaw team. They were trying their best to come out ahead of her own team, but they were failing. Wynd had intercepted another pass and there he was with the Quaffle in hand headed back toward the Ravenclaw hoops. That was a good thing. Slytherin could use a few more points before Josephine caught the snitch. She just hoped that would be soon. Her eyes turned to look around her. The sun still an issue for any seeker trying to find a golden ball that liked to glint in the sunlight. Hopefully she'd get lucky soon and catch sight of it.

[Maggie Callan S5]

Another laugh sounded deep in Maggie's throat as she watched Wynd intercept the pass the keeper was trying to make. They weren't doing so well today...Ravenclaw's team was definitely somewhere else in their head. Probably that latest book they were reading. Poor kids didn't know how to keep their heads in the game. How very bad for them and very good for her team. Of course as she thought about that all three Ravenclaw Chasers took off after Wynd. One seemed to be trying to steal, another to block, and one attempting to intercept. Well she'd just have to show that stinking Chaser that he wasn't going to get the Quaffle from Wynd or intercept the pass from him. She waved her arms at Wynd to get his attention as she took off to move in front of Theo trying to mark him as she attempted to catch the pass from Wynd.

The Ravenclaw keeper had been in possession of the quaffle… but he hadn’t done anything useful with it. He just turned it over, keeping play over on the other end of the pitch. Adalia glanced up at the sky where the seekers were still zooming away looking for the snitch, Adalia really wished they wouldn’t get it before she saw some action. Quidditch and being part of it wasn’t the end of the world of course but it seemed hardly worth the hours of practice she put in and the time spent devoted to being the best if she didn’t even get to use it in the game… “Oi, give the little bookworms a short break!” she called to her teammates with a smirk, “let them think they’re doing okay before we devastate them.” Of course that wouldn’t be the most wise move in the world but… they weren’t wise old Ravenclaws… Adalia was a Slytherin and liked to play with her prey.

Ephraim's attention was drawn by the fact that the Ravenclaw Seeker now had two Bludgers headed his way. Luckily, Harley had noticed this, and he was already on his way toward taking care of the first. Ephraim flew toward the second, his hands gripping his broom and bat tightly as he attempted to get to the Bludger before it got to Williard. "Incoming from both sides!" he hollered, at least giving Williard some sort of notice.

In a swooping manner, E found himself between the oncoming Bludger and Williard with just enough time to spare. The lack of space made it tough to get in a good swing though, but he tried nonetheless, sweeping his bat through the air with as much muscle as he could muster.

[Sierra Greene S6]

While it seemed that Wynd and Maggie were pairing up to add ten points to the Slytherin score, Sierra decided she could perhaps distract one of the Ravenclaw Chasers. The first one she noticed was their captain, Theo Darke. He was a decent player, but Sierra was determined to see if she could stop him from getting in the way of her teammates.

Flying toward the older boy, Sierra did circles around him as fast as she could. The plan was to distract him without needing to foul or make any contact. Granted, it was making Sierra a bit dizzy herself, so she wasn't even sure if the tactic was working. "Hey, Darke, you're broom's on fire!" So, maybe she wasn't the best at this marking strategy, but it was worth a try.

Williard reeled in pain as a Bludger had hit him in the very center of his back. Tears welled in his eyes though he was sure he wasn't going to cry. But then, he saw Josephine perk up, and saw what she saw. It was the Snitch! He accelerated and stretched his hand out hopefully.

His stealing of the quaffle failed, but his attention was soon withdrawn from this as Wynd passed the quaffle to Maggie, the chaser whom Matthew had attempted to mark on a couple of occasions, without being so successful. Spinning on his broom and flying as fast as he could towards her, he seen out of the corner of his eye both both seekers jump in their brooms, presumably the snitch was now in sight.

Hoping that Williard would be first to it, but also hoping that he could at least do something good for the Ravenclaw team by marking Maggie, he lowered his head in concentration, hurtling towards her at speed.

[Theo Darke]

Theo was diving to snatch the Quaffle away from Maggie, when a loud roar rippled through the stadium. Looking up in alarm, Theo saw Williard hot on Josephine's tracks; the Snitch had been seen! Theo's attention was only diverted for but a second; his head whipped back towards Maggie, eyes blazing with determination to steal the Quaffle back despite there likely being seconds left to the game. The competitive dragon inside of him breathing fire, Theo narrowed his eyes and streaked at Maggie.

Josephine didn't expect the glint of gold that briefly blinded her. The Snitch! It was her first thought and as she squinted she saw it, moving quickly, just out of reach of both her and the Ravenclaw Seeker. This was the moment. If she caught the Snitch now the game would be over and Slytherin would win. The thought exhilarated her and she took off. Not thinking of anything else other than avoiding the bludgers that would undoubtedly be headed her way. The only thing on her mind was getting to the Snitch and getting to it faster than the Ravenclaw Seeker would was determined to make up for his team's losing streak so far. Josephine would have to really concentrate...to grab it before he could. It was a race to the finish.

[Maggie Callan S5]

Maggie felt her hands close around the Quaffle, her features lighting up as she immediately took off for the Ravenclaw hoops. This was the moment. She hadn't noticed her Seeker go into a dive, but Maggie was positive that this goal would be the last one they needed. She knew she was a target...knew the bludger was headed directly for her and that the Ravenclaw Chasers were on her tail, but that wasn't going to stop her. She raised the Quaffle and tried to score.

Gabe sighed as he watched the Quaffle get passed to another Slytherin Chaser. This was just getting out of hand, the Ravenclaw team couldn't seem to stop them at all no matter what they did. He just watched as Theo and Matt both headed for the Chaser now holding the Quaffle. The Slytherin Seeker soon caught Gabe's eye as she flew off after what looked the the snitch and the Ravenclaw seeker was right behind her. Gabe decided the best thing to do right now was to try and stop Wynd from getting in the way and pray that their Seeker got to the Snitch first.

Everywhere that McCoy sent the damn Bludger, E seemed to appear. Maybe he was apparating around the pitch. That was the only thing that made sense. "Hey," McCoy called to E, "Stop floating around like a pixie!" McCoy wasn't sure if E had heard him and it didn't really matter. The other Houses had learned that Slytherins would call them names and try to force their cracks wide open. Even if E had heard him, it didn't seem to bother him. All this Beating made McCoy tired and miss his one true love, Jo. After hitting the free Bludger at the Seeker he returned to his Seeker who had seen the Snitch. "Go, go, go!"

There they were… at the other end… and there seemed to be a bit of a flurry in the sky. No hope… no hope at all… Josephine was speeding like she was headed for something and Maggie was holding the quaffle… all Adalia could do now was hope for the best for Slytherin. As much as they had been dominating all day if Ravenclaw caught the snitch no one would remember, they would think it was all Ravenclaw because they won. Adalia did a few quick loops around the hoops waiting for it all to play out, her best hope was that the snitch would elude both seekers, but that was unlikely so as long as Josephine caught it she would be happy. Nothing to do but wait…

Ephraim was eagerly looking for an open Bludger, but in the process he saw something a bit more important. The Seekers seemed to have noticed the Snitch, and Williard had a dangerously close Bludger on his tail. Ephraim would need to take care of that to allow Williard the concentration to catch the Snitch.

Quickly, he flew toward the Seekers, determined to make it Josephine who had the Bludger on her tail instead of Williard.
