Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin!

The Slytherins were not making it easy on the Ravenclaw team, that's for sure. They had easily stolen the ball, passed to another Chaser, and were heading straight to the Ravenclaw goal. To the Ravenclaw goal! That's where August was. Merlin! August had already let one go by. He was not anxious to try and stop another one. He saw that Theo and Gabe were attempting to impede Wynd's path which was good. Maybe that would stop him from scoring or coming near for that matter. Either way, August would be prepared.

Wynd smiled at Sierra as he caught her pass. He swiftly turned his broom and zoomed off toward the Ravenclaw Keeper. He kept the ball close to his body and leaned forward on his broom hoping to gain some extra speed. Plus with the ball close to his body it would be harder for other Chasers to perform an act of larceny. Apparently though, he was not fast enough. Somehow or other, Gabe had been able to get in front of him and was trying to slow him down. Then he felt another Chaser on his side. Theo. Of course. Nothing was ever easy.

Ephraim's attention was drawn to Tiernan's attack toward Williard. He hurried to fly in the direction that the Bludger was flying, hoping that he could redirect it toward the Slytherin Seeker instead. Taking a steady swing, he placed himself between the oncoming Bludger and Williard, acting as a human shield.

As soon as Wynd had the Quaffle, it seemed that the attention of all the Chasers turned to him. Sierra noticed that one of the younger Ravenclaws seemed to be flying in for an attempt to take the Quaffle for himself. That wouldn't do. Sierra flew in his direction, making sure to get as close to the boy as she could. If she were successful, she'd be able to get in his way, allowing Wynd more freedom to make a play.

Josephine shouted in glee when Wynd caught the Quaffle. The pass from Sierra had been great. The game was going splendidly and now Wynd was headed back down to score. Hopefully he'd make it and Slytherin would be up by 20. Until then Josephine was set on finding the snitch. It had to be around there somewhere. If only she could find that golden ball then maybe the game could be over and done with and Slytherin could win the very first match of the season! She could only hope that her first time as the formal captain would lead their team to victory. What a way to start the year! Of course she had to find that snitch first.

Maggie couldn't stop the smirk that formed on her face as she marked Matt successfully. Poor kid didn't know what he was getting himself into, but Maggie was sure to give him a few pointers. The Ravenclaw team was going down and she was going to make sure they didn't find their way back. At that thought her eyes returned to Wynd who now had the Quaffle and was getting ready to score. Theo had taken off toward Wynd and was looking to steal. She took off after the Ravenclaw Chaser. She wasn't going to have him steal, not when they were so close to scoring again. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed the kid on her tail trying to get in her way. The more the merrier cause all she was planning on doing was getting in the other Chasers way so he couldn't steal from Wynd, maybe with the kid's added attempt to thwart her, she'd be able to stop them both.

Theo's heart dropped as the Quaffle fell through the hoops for the second time. Frustrated, he flew up to August, muttering 'Dammit' loudly under his breath. "Hey," he greeted painfully as he approached the younger boy, "keep up the good work. Don't be disheartened by this time, just make sure to concentrate the next time they attack. I can't promise that won't be soon." Gritting his teeth, Theo flew away, yelling back, "I'm free for a pass if no one marks me." He directed his broom towards Sierra, who was close by; he was ready to mark her at the same time.

He frowned as the Slytherin chaser scored; again. Matthew, despite this, focused on remaining calm and concentrating. This was, after all, his first game, and not all could be expected to go perfect.

Determined to remain concentrating on the positives, he sped into action as he seen August with the quaffle, with Theo flying ahead to receive a pass whilst marking Sierra. Making a point to get into position for a pass if Theo successfully received the quaffle, Matthew swiftly swerved around behind Maggie, ready to try and mark her again, just in case she tried to fly off and bother a Ravenclaw, or get involved in the pass to Theo.

[Dylan Caoimhe]

Dylan flew forward at full speed. Unfortunately, Ravenclaw had managed to hit both Bludgers at Jo. Dylan called out to her. "Jo be ready to do some dodging if necessary!" But, Dylan would try to make sure that she could focus and not have to worry about anything but the Snitch. Hopefully Tiernan would come and try and deflect the other one from Ephraim.

[Williard Thoth R4]

Williard flew on, happy that his teammates had succeeded in defending him from Bludger attacks. He still hadn't seen the Snitch, but wasn't disheartened at all. Williard was very patient, and he knew the Snitch would pop up eventually, whether he found it or the Slytherin Seeker found it, it would be seen at some point, he had just had to make sure he would be the one to get it first.

[Adalia St John S5]

First game of the season, not the usual rivalry with Gryffindor, apparently they couldn’t get their team together in some such, whatever. Adalia would have said something like ‘hopefully they don’t get themselves together all year’ but really… what was the point of winning without proving your worth? Then it would always be in doubt, and Adalia had no doubt Slytherin had the might to win the quidditch cup. One way or another really thought, Adalia found herself sitting in the locker room waiting for her first match as vice captain to begin. Here was their chance, clobber Ravenclaw and put the fear of Slytherin in all the other houses to last the year.

The game began well, Adalia almost felt useless for the beginning of it. She really loved being keeper, loved playing her own position with no one to depend on, no partner to get in the way. It was however a little frustrating sitting at one end of the pitch while everyone else got to zoom around busy, showing off. Eventually it came, finally a Ravenclaw was in possession, some guy in the year above her. Hopefully the boy could do something useful and let her into the game…

August felt a sigh escape his lips as he held the Quaffle once again. Twice in a row he had let the red ball slip by him. It would be one thing if the Chaser had been different. But no, it had been the same exact Chaser. August could see a smirk on the seventh year's face. He and his sister were not exactly nice people and the less August had to interact with them the better. He nervously passed the Quaffle from one hand to the other and he allowed the Ravenclaw Chasers to get into position. Matthew was anxious to prove himself worthy of the team but August knew that they had to turn things around. Theo was the best choice. August felt a sympathetic ping as he tossed the ball to Theo. He had been the youngest player when he joined the team so he knew how hard it was to feel worthy. "Next time!" he called to Matthew.

The corners of Wynd's lips lifted into a smirk. Once again he had scored. This really was going to be a good year for Slytherin. Wynd would love to end his time at Hogwarts with the Quidditch Cup. Last year had been great but this year was going to be even better. He let his broom drift in the slight breeze as he watched the Ravenclaw Keeper decide what to do with the newly received Quaffle. To his left he could see that Theo was trying to block Sierra. On his right Matthew was blocking Maggie. So far, no one had tried to block him. That was brilliant. Let the Ravens think that they are doing some good while Wynd actually plays the game.

The sun felt really hot to McCoy. It had been a cool crisp morning but the day seemed to be warming quickly. Either that or he was sweating like crazy. He figured it was a combination of the two. The Beaters seemed to be in a stalemate as neither side could make a hit on the other team. McCoy's Bludger had easily been redirected toward Jo. The perfect opportunity to fly closer to the lovely captain. "I have returned," he called to her as he flew near to her. "Unfortunately, not for the reason I'm sure you had hoped." Eyes scanned the pitch looking for the next target. He could pick Theo as he was a big threat but right now he was not the biggest concern.

The scream of joy sounded deep from Josephine as she cheered on her team. They had scored once again and it was joyous for the Slytherin crowd that was cheering loudly. "Good job! Keep it up!" she called to her Chasers. They were working so hard and she was grateful that they were so eager to play so hard. If they kept it up then they'd definitely be winning the game. They just needed to keep pressing Ravenclaw...make them crazy. That was ll they could do. If they kept them on their toes then they'd have little time to get organized, to focus on what they were doing. It was a good tactic and one that Josephine was very proud of her team for using. Now all she had to do was find that stupid snitch. She whirled her broom around and took off across the pitch trying to find the snitch.

Maggie couldn't believe the craziness of the game. They'd just gotten the Quaffle back and Wynd had scored again! She was so excited she couldn't stop herself from laughing at the Ravenclaw Chasers. That kid was still trying to mark her and losing terribly. She'd have to give him a cookie later for being so completely unrelenting. The thought made her laugh again as she took off after the other chasers. They seemed to be all focused on trying to keep her team from getting the Quaffle, well she'd just have to show them.

[Tiernan McCoy S7]

McCoy looked at the wooden bat in his hand. Maybe someone had placed a charm on it that made solid objects go right through it. He was sure that he had defended Jo from that Bludger but when he looked behind him, she was dodging the missed ball. Someone could have placed a silent spell on his bat. Things like that were not impossible. His eyes scanned the Ravenclaw team looking for the culprit. "Whoever cursed my bat," he screamed to no one in particular, "I do not appreciate it!" Going to the stray ball he had to test his theory.

His marking of Maggie unfortunately did not succeed, just as the quaffle, thrown from August to Theo, soared through the air and was intercepted by Wynd. Admittedly, there wasn't much Matthew could do, but continue to relentlessly try his hardest.

He again tried not to be negative, as his mind was set on stealing the quaffle. As he swerved around Maggie, he ignored that Wynd had more experience than him, as he launched towards him, he ignored that he may not succeed, as he flew towards him, arm outstretched, ready to grab the quaffle from his possession, the only thought going through his head was trying his hardest and trying to get Ravenclaw back on their feet.
