Things were not looking good; Wynd had scored and Ravenclaw were in dire need of gaining possession of the Quaffle. Muttering his thoughts under his breath, Theo focused on Wynd and swiftly flew towards him. His fellow seventh year had always been a large threat in the Chaser field. Flashing Wynd a grim, determined look, Theo wavered close by, waiting for August's pass; Wynd could fight him for the Quaffle, if he wanted.

Dylan was certainly a formidable Beater. He had somehow just sent not one but two Bludgers at the Ravenclaw Seeker. Unfortunately, the darn Seeker had been able to avoid both of them. That was fine though. It kept him on his toes. McCoy was flying close to Jo so that he could protect her from stray Bludgers but noticing one had been sent to Wynd he decided to go after the other one. Wynd was a capable player. He could take care of himself. Turning to Jo he said in his best suave voice, "I have to leave you mon ami*. But I shall return. Don't miss me too much," he added with a wink. Corralling the stray Bludger he sent it where it should be heading.

He wasn't as nervous as he had expected. Sitting there on the bench, Matthew sighed to himself, wondering why he was so determined to get on the pitch and play. He still had the captains encouraging words ringing in his ears, and, thinking grimly to himself, he realized that he must have been one of the least experienced players there. Wondering if his countless days of practicing in the stadium after curfew would benefit him, he sat hugging his broom, trying to concentrate on the blur of colors above him; a dizzying mass of blue and green.
Then his moment arrived, he got subbed on. He looked up from his feet in shock, enthusiastically jumping from his seat and gripping his broom, before swaying on the spot as the world around him spun from standing up to fast. Muttering to himself, he made his way onto the pitch, kicking himself up into the air. He lifted into the air, the sound of the crowd reduced to a quite buzzing, the players zipping by him a silent whoosh, and everything turned into slow motion in his eyes. The nerves that had begun to brew in his stomach had vanished, and he realized that this was nothing more than another starry night spent relentlessly practicing, this was just the same. A sense of overwhelming euphoria roared inside him, nothing like he had felt before, then everything was fast again, and he concentrated on the game. Matthew immediately noticed a bludger hurtling towards Devon, and, launching forwards, the adrenaline hammering in his chest, he propelled towards him, ready to defend Devon and deflect the bludger towards the Slytherin seeker.

Harley watched his Bludger be defended and deflected toward Devon, yet again. He shook his head, about to go and defend him, but a zoom on blue flew across the pitch and got to him first. It took a bit for his eyes to focus, but then he saw and recognized one of the young ones on the team, Matthew. Harley nodded, smiling at how fast he was, and now it was his turn to race across the pitch. He spotted on of the free Bludgers and was on his way to reach it before anyone else. He swerved around the mess of Chasers, all getting together for the pass about to be made by the Keeper, due to the Slytherins scoring. He looked at the Chaser that had scored and smiled slyly to himself. He raised his bat and swung it with all his might, hoping the Bludger would strike him and wipe the triumphant smirk off his face. There might not have been a smirk there, he was assuming, but if there wasn't, this would be a little precaution.

Though he was pleased the other teams Beaters failed to defend, Dylan had to admit that he was impressed that the Ravenclaw Seeker actually managed to dodge his Bludger attacks. That only made it that much more fun. How long could Devon manage to avoid Bludgers, especially if his Beaters failed to protect him? They would certainly find out. He saw as a Bludger was hit toward Devon again by Tiernan, and also noticed a Ravenclaw Beater fly over and try to defend. Hopefully that would go in Slytehrins favor. Afterall, they had already scored. And he saw another Bludger be sent toward Wynd. So, he left Josephine's side, but not before warning her of the possible oncoming Bludger, and rushed to help Wynd out.

Gabe cursed at himself slightly as he flew around the Quidditch field. So far the only thing he had managed to do right was avoid a Bludger but he missed the Quaffle earlier and now he wasn't able to do anything to stop the Slytherin Chaser from scoring in a goal. It was slightly disheartening to Gabe but at least the Snitch hadn't been seen yet, which gave them plenty of time to get the lead back from Slytherin. All Gabe had to do now was not mess up anymore, at that thought he gave a dry laugh as he watched the Quaffle in the hands of their keeper. Like him not messing up anymore was even possible, he could blame it all on this being his first real game but that didn't change the fact that he wasn't helping anyone at the moment.

"Come out...come out wherever you are?" Josephine muttered as she flipped around on her broom doing another pass near the Slytherin goal. That's when she heard the yells and exhilarating cries from the Slytherin crowd. She looked up to see that the scoreboard changed from 0 to 10. They had scored! Josephine couldn't stop the smile that swam across her features. This was perfect. The game was going splendidly. Now if only they could keep up that devotion and concentration for the rest of the game they'd be doing marvelously. Of course that wouldn't matter if she found the snitch before then. She nodded her head at that thought and returned to searching for the snitch. Her eyes were focused on the horizon, trying to spot it through the bright sky.
Beater Dylan was near her at this point, protecting her back like always before announcing that a Bludger was more than likely going to be headed her direction while he went off to take care of the Bludger that was now headed toward Wynd. Josephine didn't bother arguing, Wynd needed protection just as much as she did. He seemed to be keeping beaten by both Beaters, while she was free to roam the sky. One eye was kept on the sky, the other was kept on the Bludgers that seemed to be heading every direction.

Stephen Donahue was glad to be getting off the bench, his body arching backward in a cat like stretch before he mounted his broom and took off into the sky. He had a bone to pick with one of the Slytherin Beaters. His dark hazel eyes landed on McCoy as he flew past him. "Keep your eyes on the Bludger and off my girlfriend," Stephen growled in annoyance. "That's your only warning McCoy." Stephen and McCoy had once been in the same year...had once been dorm mates, but that was before everything had happened in Stephen's life. He flew past Jo next and nodded at her, grateful for her being able to put him in the game. He was itching to get a piece of Ravenclaw.
Stephen immediately flew into action. The team had just scored and it was glorious. Now all he had to do was get the Quaffle back and score again. He was going to make sure Slytherin was up so far that even if Ravenclaw did catch the snitch they'd still lose. While the Ravenclaw Chasers seemed to be more concerned with Wynd, Stephen was more concerned with where the Quaffle was going to be thrown. He watched the Quaffle in the Keeper's hand, ready to intercept.

Time seemed to slow down as he saw the Quaffle slip past his fingers. That Slytherin Chaser meant business. There was no denying that. But August himself was just warming up. The game was just beginning. Slytherin had to win an uphill battle if they wanted to get the best of Ravenclaw. Chasing after the ball he caught it midair and it gave him a second to think about what to do next. Not only did he have to do well as a player but now he had to perform well as a vice. He didn't want to let his team down on his first game. Williard and Gabe were the least experienced of the three Chasers so it made sense to pass the ball to Theo. August hoped that the Slytherins would not be thinking the same thing.

Maggie was on a role, ready to continue taking out players...especially now that they had scored! She was excited. If they kept up this way they would beat the snot out of Ravenclaw and Maggie didn't care one way or another as long as they won. Maggie smirked at the rest of her teammates before noticing that one of the Ravenclaw Chasers was trying to get in the way of one of the Slytherin Beaters! Now that wasn't nice. Turning on a dime she took off for the Chaser and tried to mark him before he could get in Dylan's way.

A smile found itself on the lips of Wynd Lehane. He had made the first goal of many Slytherin goals of the game. Of the year. With this single action he had told the rest of the teams that this was going to be Slytherin's year to shine. He made a loop to kill some time while the Ravenclaw Keeper decided what to do. He then saw a Bludger headed right at him. Obviously the Ravens did not like it when they were scored against. Bring it on. Wynd was indestructible. There was nothing that would deter him from winning the game. He saw that Dylan had come to protect him. A nice gesture but unnecessary. Then to add insult to injury. Theo was going to try and block him. Block him from what? Stephen was already making a move to intercept the Quaffle. Whatever. If that distracted Theo long enough for Stephen to be successful then Wynd would play his part. ((Marking Theo right back ))

Dylan smiled as he successfully defended Wynd and sent yet another Bludger heading at Devon. He knew Wynd didn't necessarily need protection; it was more Dylan wanted Slytherin to be in control of the Bludgers for as much of the game as possible. So, aggression was called for. And speaking of possession and aggression, Tiernan's Bludger had missed Devon, and Dylan hurriedly flew over to recover it before the Ravenclaw Beaters, and then returned to covering Josephine. iTheo's hands closed round the Quaffle. Grinning delightedly, he yelled, "Thanks!" to August, before swiftly turning his broom around and flying across the pitch, to the other goals. Theo didn't even remember who was the Slytherin Keeper; whoever he or she was, he was determined to get the Quaffle past him or her, and even the score Wynd had set. Harley gritted his teeth in a little frustration. Why this stubborn Slytherin kept hitting the Bludger toward Devon instead of anyone else, he didn't know, but what he did know was that he was determined not to let it his Devon and deflect it. He looked around quickly while flying toward Devon, gripping his bat. He smiled, seeing Theo about to score. He decided to help a bit, and swung at the Bludger.

Matthew cursed loudly as he failed to deflect the oncoming bludger on Devon, and, yelling a loud warning, he grinned as he successfully dodged it.
Spinning round quickly on his broom, he seen Harley racing towards Devon to defend him from the bludger now hurtling towards him, and also noticing out of the corner of his eye Theo racing towards the Slytherin goals. Sensing the determination of the moment, the anticipation, he quickly spun around, flying towards Devon again.
Shouting to Harley that he had one covered, as he noticed that there were two flying towards Devon, he leaned forwards to gain as much speed as possible, and, reaching his bat out, he aimed to defend him.
His eyes found Josephine, and with a competitive glare sparkling in his eyes, he intended on deflecting it towards her, just to give the Slytherin beaters a bit of 'tit-for-tat,' as Melody would say. As he thought of her, he felt his heart beat with a more determined thump, his hand gripping tighter onto his beaters bat.

Maggie Callan flew through the sky her eyes locked on the Quaffle. There was no way she'd be able to steal it, she'd just missed the last interception. The only thing she could hope for was Wynd to get into action and steal the Quaffle from Theo before he shot. The last thing they needed was to get tied with Ravenclaw, not in the first part of the game. They had to be strong and they had to play a good defense. Maggie took off trying to come up with something that would work. Her eyes dropping to their Keeper. "Keep your eyes pealed Adalia! Ravenclaw is headed your way!" she called to her as she watched Theo take aim. In the mean time she decided to do some damage to the Ravenclaw team. Grinning she took off ready to make some poor Chasers life miserable.

Was that the snitch? Nope that was just another ray of sun reflecting off some students button or something. Josephine looked around, yawning a bit. It was then that she took notice of the rest of the game, her whole calm exterior disappearing as she saw that the Ravenclaw Chaser was about to score. "Steal the Quaffle!!! Adalia catch that Quaffle!!" Josephine yelled in their direction taking off through the sky to shout orders at her teammates. They weren't playing as a team obviously. How could they let Ravenclaw get that close? Didn't they realize that they had the Quaffle? This was definitely going to mean more drills in practice. "Pay attention!" she screamed at them as she doubled around the players and the hoops, her eyes glancing at them while also watching out for the snitch. If she saw it now that would mean she could catch it that much quicker and keep Ravenclaw from scoring.

Stephen saw the Ravenclaw Chaser head for the goal. Not to mention the nagging shouts of their own Slytherin Captain and his girlfriend...if that's what you really called her. Stephen took off, crossing the short distance between himself and the Chaser who was getting ready to score. He knew that it would be almost impossible to steal the Quaffle from him, but he was going to have to try. He seemed to be the only one close enough to do so, or maybe he was the only one paying enough attention to do so. He came up behind him as fast as he could, trying to punch the Quaffle from behind and get it out of his hands.
