Jack walked around Hogsmeade, his cloak wrapped tightly around him, trying to keep out the cold. He wasn't sure where to go, he just wanted to go somewhere warm. He glanced around the busy streets. He then saw the Three Broomsticks and walked towards it as fast as he could.
Once inside, he ordered a butterbeer. It warmed him up and made him feel much better. He looked around the place, looking to see if he knew anyone. Seeing no one, he sat down by the window, sipping his butterbeer.

Mack entered the Three Broomstikcs. Her sunglasses over her eyes like they normally were. She walked up to the bar and ordered a fire whisky. The bartender gave her some excuse saying she was too young. Mack grabbed the mans collar and pulled him towards her, "Fire whisky." She breathed. He nodded and gave her one. Mack smiled and walked to a table.
"I'm sitting here. Hope you dont mind." Mack said as she sat down next to someone she had met before. Jack. Yes. He was the one who was shamelessly falling into Vika's love trap before Mack interuppted, "Remember me?" She asked, an angelic smile on her lips.

Jack watched with amusement as Mackenzie entered the Three Broomsticks. She ordered fire whisky, well she really forced the bartender to give it to her. Jack almost laughed out loud. He felt sorry that the batender had to deal with her wrath; it looked extremly funny though. To his surprise, Mack came right to him and sat down.
"Of course I remember you. Your the Vika hater right?" He said smirking at her.
"Just out of curiousity, do you always get what you want?" Jack asked. He laughed as he motioned towards the bartender. "You wanted to get fire whiskey and you got it. You wanted to sit here, and you are." He grinned at her. It was nice to talk to someone in his own house and year.

"Yeah. Vika hater. She's such a whench." Mack said with disgust, "Why would a Slytherin fall for a Gryffindor anyway?" She asked, cocking her eyebrow upward. Mack shook her head and took a drink of her fire whiskey. Jack then asked her if she normally got what she wanted. Mack shrugged.
"Sometimes I do. Most the time I se force to get it. If I don't use force then it comes willingly. People don't know who they are dealing with when they refuse me." She answered honestly. It was true. The bartender had no clue of her temper. She was positive. "So what are you doing here? Trveling hogsmeade alone is never fun."

Jack laughed.
"I don't know why I fell for her. It was kind of like a trance. It was really weird. Good thing you came though, it was getting a little carried away. Thank god you brought me back to Earth!" Jack grinned at her. He usually didn't smile and laugh with people, only Slytherins.
"I don't really know what I was doing here. I guess I just wanted to get away from the school." He just smiled about the part of using force to get what Mack wanted. That was what most Slytherins did. He decided to ask her why she hated Vika.
"Just out of pure curiousity, why do you hate Vika so much? What happened to make you and her enemies?" Jack had been dying to ask this for a while. Vika didn't seem like such a bad person, but apparently, something had happened to make her a bad person, or a hated person.

Mack smiled genuinly she tilted her head back, took a long swig of her fire whiskey, and breathed in deeply. Why did she hate Vika? Mack thought about this for a moment, then nodded once, "Besides the whole Gryff Slyth thing?" She asked with a dull tone of voice. Mack strummed her fingers on the table.
"Let me list why. A) we met in the courtyard, she was a witch to me....maybe that was because i kicked her, but she should have let me known she was there. B) she's real full of herself. Have you realized that? She thinks she's so pretty and so special. Gag me. C) I just hate her period. Playing boys like they were a board game, oh please. And D) I am able to hate her, therefore I do." Mackenzie answered finally. She smiled and took another drink of her fire whiskey. Mack raised her sunglasses on top of her head, knowing what Jack saw. Dark circles under her eyes, and some wrinkles. Too much worry.
"I think she drinks some potion that makes her appear to be much more attractive to guys than what she really is. Because, what you guys see and what we see, are two totally different beings. I see tentacles and antennae. What is it that you see?" Mack asked, tilting her head. She knew she was being cruel. But she really didn't care.

Jack grinned at her again. They weren't the greatest reasons to hate Vika. But then, if somebody had been a real jerk to you then they would hate you for a while. Unless, they were forgiving people, and Mack didn't seem like a forgiving person at the moment. When she took off her sunglasses, Jack was surprised at what he saw. Her face seemed to be worried and fustrated. Jack had thought he would see a younger face looking back at him, but instead he saw a face that looked as though it had been through a lot. He watched with amusement as she took another drink of fire whiskey. He was about to ask her if it was any good when she asked him a question that got him thinking. What did he see in Vika? He thought about it for a long time, sipping his butterbeer occasionally. Finally, he pulled an answer together.
"To be truthful, I see a pretty girl who is wanting attention and who is trying to get her attention by showing how pretty she is." He looked at her closely, trying to guess what how she was going to react to his answer. Mack was hard to figure out.

Mack looked at Jack, her eyebrow slightly raised; "Most people do something to themselves. Not go around saying how pretty they are." She told him with a smirk. She hated how people did that. Wanted attention. If they didn't get any that was their problem, not the people who are subject to the horrific words and phrases of how wonderful they are. Mack rolled her eyes.
"If you ask me, she just thinks she's all that. But, hey, who am I to say? My opinion counts for absolutely nothing." Mack stated flatly. She put her head on the table and heaved a big sigh. Then she looked back up at Jack and tilted her head, "Did you know, I'm going out with a Ravenclaw? A ravenclaw for goodness sakes! And I'm here critisizing who you are attracted to. Wow. I'm such a hypocrite!" Mack banged her head on the table.

Jack was surprised that Mack of all people was going out with a Slytherin. That was the last thing he had expected.
"So, a Ravenclaw huh? They aren't to bad....I guess." Jack was still in a surprised state. He looked at Mack curiously. He had to ask something. "I'm supposing that he is a pureblood? I mean....." Jack cleared his throat again and tried over. "What's his name ? I mean, you don't need to tell me if you don't want. Just curious." Jack grinned at her and then walked up to the place and ordered another butterbeer. He walked back over to their table and sat down next to Mack. He took a long sip of butterbeer before he looked at Mack again.

Mack laughed harshly at what Jack said, then shook her head before ordering anotehr fire whiskey. She was in way over her head, she knew this. She had been told this many times. And she didn't think to take heed. She just went on with it. Now she was up to her eyebrows in trouble, and mixed feelings and she didn't know what to do.
"I don't know if he's a pureblood or not. You would think I would check up on those things, but I didn't." Mack drank another swig of her fire whiskey, ready to just collapse into a world of nothing. She didn't want to be there anymore. She wnated to be anywhere but where she was. Mack looked at Jack and blinked as he asked for her boyfriends name. Mack swayed lightly and leaned her head on the back of the booth, feeling the alcohol settle in.
"Wardle, Tristan. Tristan Wardle. Third year Ravie." Her speech was slurred and her eyelids were starting to close but she continued to drink. One eye popped open and she looked at Jack, "Do you think I'm crazy? Having a relationship with him? I mean, I know my sister does." She asked with a slightly nervous chuckle.

Jack watched as Mack took a swig of her firewhiskey. He was nervous that she was going to lose it. It looked as if she was falling asleep.
"Tristan Wardle? I think I have heard of him...." Jack thought hard but still couldn't think of where he had heard of him. It was strange that she hadn't asked what kind of blood he had. Jack didn't bring this up with Mack. The mention of Mack's sister made Jack look at her with surprise.
"Do you mean Dixie? Dixie Holden? I didn't know you two were related!" Jack looked at Mack hard. "No, I don't think it's that bad. I mean, it could be worse couldn't it?" Jack didn't know how it could get any worse. Slytherins were supposed to be together and with no one else. Suddenly, Jack remembered where he had heard the name Tristan Wardle. He had walked by these two girls who were whispering in the corridor, and he had heard them say,...." I heard she is going out with Tristan Wardle....." Those girls must have been talking about Mack. They had been Hufflepuffs, so Jack hadn't really been paying attention to them. He looked back at Mack, trying to say something.
"Mack....Did....Do...I have heard of Tristan Wardle before..... These two Hufflepuffs had been talking about him and you I think......"

"Yes. Dixie Holden. That would be the she-devil." Mack said with a nod. She finished off her fire whiskey and looked at Jack as he told her he heard two Hufflepuffs tlaking about Tristan and her. She shrugged at this.
"Doesn't surprise me." She muttered. Her words slurring together even more. The sun had already set and Mack decided she wanted some fresh air. So she stood up, only to fall on the floor.
"Hmm...my legs don't seem to be working." She said in a giddy voice. She laid her head on the seat and looked up at Jack, "You just gonna sit there? Or are you gonna help me outside?" She asked in whiney voice.

No Jack was starting to get a little worried. What is she doing?! Jack wondered as he watched Mack fall to the floor as she attempted to stand up. When she asked if he was going to help her outside, he stood up quickly and helped her up. Mack seemed....different from other Slytherins. Jack had heard a little about Dixie, and Mack seemed much different from her. Mack seemed like she was leaning all her weight on Jack, so he almost dropped her.
"You really shouldn't be drinking that stuff," Jack growled as he hauled her outside. "It's not doing you any good!" Jack looked around quickly, hoping no one would see him in this humiliating position. It was like he was half carrying Mack out the door. It seemed like Mack had fallen asleep. Once outside, he gently laid Mack on the ground. He didn't really know what to do, so he waited for Mack to say something.

Mack grumbled, "Who are you? My dad?!" She asked as they exitted the building and he told her she shouldn't be drinking Fire Whiskey. Mack plopped down on the ground and looked up at him. Not really caring how she looked to everyone who was passing by. Mack never really cared what people thought of her, if they wanted to make her look like an imbecile let them. It's their image and it shouldn't matter to Mack how they see her.
She looked up at Jack and sighed, she leaned back and curled into a little ball. The protecting stance she always got in when she was in trouble. She rocked back and forth and shook her head, "No. You aren't my dad. You're too nice to be my dad. The jerk." She spoke with another sigh, only this one was deeper. Much deeper.

Jack laughed a little as Mack asked who are you.
"Right now, I'm a humiliated Jack. And no, I'm not your dad!" Jack said still snickering a little. It wasn't funny, it was just Mack didn't reliaze where she was or anything. The fire whiskey was taking affect. The comment Mack made on her dad however, made Jack quiet. His father, a death eater, had never cared much about Jack, just that he becomes a death eater too.
"I can relate to that," Jack murmmered to Mack as he sat down on the ground next to her.

Mack sighed, shook her head and looked at Jack, "Ever hear of the Holden's Jack? The big shot family, who have connections with a lot of dark people. I was once part of that. But I was treated as a slave, not a daughter." Mack told him. She looked up at the sky, and winced at the brightness of the sun. She wasn't exactly drunk. But then again, she could never hold her alcohol. Mack shook her head, letting her hair fly around her.
"So, I'm not really losing anything when I do things. You know? It's like, if they don't treat me like a daughter or part of the family then why act like one voluntarily?" Mack was actually talking to someone who she hadn't known for as long as some others, about her life. Why? She had no idea as to that, but she knew she needed to talk about it. And she knew the alcohol she had...wasn't going to help any.

Jack watched as Mack sighed yet again. He couldn't help feeling sorry for her; but he knew that most Slytherins don't enjoy pity.
"Yes, I have heard of the Holdens, my father...." Jack trailed off. He wasn't really willing to talk about his father just yet. His father knew lots about all the death eaters and people who helped out darker people, and the Holdens were one of them. He didn't want to mention this to Mack though. It might make her upset.
Jack sat quietly through Mack's talk, listening to every word she said. He knew somewhat of what she was going through, he had a bad family too. He was treated like some peice of filth that his father had control of. He hated it, but he listened to everything his father had told him. Jack, to be truthful, was afraid of disrespecting his father. His father knew lots of powerful dark wizards, including the Dark Lord.
" Like I said before, I can relate to your problems in a few ways. First, my father thinks he has control of me. He thinks I am just a rag doll that he can throw around.... " Jack thought for a moment, thinking about other things that they could be similar to. Finding none, he sighed and looked up at the sky.
"Do you have a mother, Mack?" He asked abruptly.

Mack looked to Jack. LIstening to him. He did have a few things in common with her. She never realised she wasn't the only one who was treated the way she was. But at the moment it dawned on her, and frankly, it surprised her. She almost didn't hear Jack asked if she had a mother. Mack rolled her eyes and looked at the ground, "If you can call my mom a mother." She answered with an exasperated tone.
"How about you? Mother? Sister? Brother?" She asked, raising her right eyebrow wearily.

Jack looked at Mack, listening to what she had to say. She looked a little weary, as if the firewhiskey was starting to dawn on her. Jack wasn't surprised that Mack had a mom. Well, she kind of did. Since her mother didn't act like a loving mother, she was just there as a mother. Jack, on the other hand, had a loving mother, until she was banished from the family name. Mrs. Rendel, had been a loving parent, but she had decided to go against the Death Eaters. Mr. Rendel had taken this as a personally insult, and had divourced her immediatly. Jack had never seen her since, he didn't even know if she was a live or not.
"No siblings. I use to have a mother, but she disagreed with my father about what was right and wrong and my dad disowned her. I have never seen her since, she might even be dead for all I know. Now, my father is depending on me for the whole family name and everything else. It's a lot of weight to carry around."

Mack breathed in, her stability slowly returning, "Well, if you have all that power on your shoulders. Use it. Your dad is loading you up with all of this, and you can't handle it. Don't let him see that. Use it against him. Tell him you won't carry on the name unless he does everything you ask. And more than likely he'll do something or everything for you. Because you are the last of the Rendel blood." Mack told him in a tone of voice that said she knew what she was talking about. It's what Vivian had done just two years before she left England.
"See, I don't have to deal with that though. Because my sister Dixie is older than me, and she will continue with the Holden name. She's already well on her way with the whole power thing." She added as an after thought. She sighed and looked at Jack, wondering why he was being so nice to him, but not daring to ask. She closed her eyes and thought for a bit then finally said, "Want to go somewhere worth going to?" She opened her right eye and looked at him with only one eye. And before he could answer, she grabbed his hand and pulled him up with her. Dragging him through Hogsmeade to the nearest 'club.' Mack pushed open the door and music flooded her ear drums. Pounding deeply. She through her hands above her head and shook her body wildly, but in time with the beat. Her smile crossed her lips and she nodded. Then turned back to Jack, she grabbed his hands and threw them up in teh air, shaking them this way and that, "Let me give you advice Mister Rendel! Don't fall for anyone outside your house! Hell will be upon you! I'm falling apart at the seams just going through it day after day!" Mack hollered over the music.
She put her arms around him and leaned up, whispering into his ear, "No person outside of Slytherin is worth it. No person at all. No matter how pretty, intelligent, sweet, enterataining they are. They aren't worth it."
