She was proving to be a worthy opponent. That Melody. He felt foolish that he had fallen for such a blatant trick. It was too early to have seen the Snitch. And yet, anyone who could pull the wool over Peter Gales' eyes was worth his attention. It didn't happen often. Perhaps Peter would get to know this Melody better. There were some rumors going around about her but Peter didn't usually listen to rumors. They never talked about interesting people. Like him.

He'd gone for it, and Melody experienced a palpable sense of satisfaction as the Ravenclaw Seeker committed himself to following her dive. Still no sign of the Snitch, but at least, having tested out the Ravenclaw's experience, she'd come out top on that occasion. It gave her a bit of confidence as she continued searching for the Snitch, now skimming the ground after pulling up out of her dive. The Ravenclaws were dominating the game, and there were Bludgers flying everywhere, but Melody was still okay, she was doing just fine. She repeated the encouraging words as a mantra in her head as she continued her search.

The game descended into confusion for a moment as Dahlia dropped the Quaffle for some reason. Anna glanced at her acquaintance in surprise, but then noticed a flash of red closing on the Quaffle, just as fast as August. She quickly followed, wanting to cut off the younger boy's path towards the Quaffle... Ravenclaw had a target to reach and they weren't going to manage that if Gryffindor managed to keep possession of the Quaffle even for a short length of time. ((Marking Zak. Madam Hooch, Edward's Str is only 2 now - it got a point knocked off it by that last Bludger hit because he's down to 3HP... doesn't affect the rolls for last round at all, though. )

Wow. Ali glanced at the Gryffindor Keeper with clear bewilderment before dismissing the younger girl from her thoughts. Maybe the idea of being hit by the Bludger had been so intimidating that the Keeper had instinctively surrendered the Quaffle without realising that her actions wouldn’t change the ball’s path in any way unless one of the Gryffindor Beaters stepped in to save her or she managed to avoid it. Ah well, Ali had been having rather a lot of good luck during this game, which was pleasing.
On second thought, having a Bludger aimed at you wasn’t exactly what most people would call good luck. Ali scowled in Edward’s direction indignantly. For the last time, she hadn’t meant to hit him! Well…yes, she had, but not quite so hard. So there was really no reason for him to be getting all huffy and emotional about it. With a roll of her eyes, Ali hoisted her bat and swung it, eyes firmly fixed in Melody’s direction.

Dahlia was shocked when she dropped the quaffle. Dahlia didn't loose focus, ever. It was just something that simply didn't happen. To say she was disappointed in herself would be an understatement. She bit her lip and focused again, no more mess ups. This wasn't the time.
She nodded to Edward who was deflecting Peter and lead her focus back to the quaffle, messing up was no longer an option.

He felt like he should write his name on the ball with his wand. It seemed like he was the only Chaser to touch the Quaffle this game. He really needed to let someone else have a turn. The rules said that he needed to pass to another Chaser before they could try to score again so between Anna and Matt... Anna.

If only the sun was out today. With all this could cover, how is anyone supposed to see the action of the game? The star player of the game? The only reason some of the students left their dorms? Me. He just had to find the Snitch first. He wanted the glory and attention. He needed the glory and attention. He needed Melody's attention. What she so focused for? She should be focused on him.

The game went on, with very little change - Ravenclaw still dominating - apart from that Melody went about her task with renewed confidence in herself. She still stayed quite low to the ground, scanning the crowds. This was very much like looking for a needle in a haystack. She was sure she'd thought that before - Quidditch games were often very much the same for Seekers, even if this one felt a little more uncomfortable for her team than she was used to... she wished they would get their act together. Even if they won they would have a tough practice schedule ahead of them, she thought glumly.

Anna noted with excitement that August was about to pass to her. It would be the first time this match that she would have possession of the Quaffle - August had been hogging it quite a lot, not that she thought that was a bad thing, since he wasn't in Gryffindor. She tried to get herself in a better position, so that he'd have a better chance of passing to her without any Gryffindors getting in the way...

With a clearly bored expression, Ali swung her bat to smack the Bludger away from Peter. The game was starting to drag a bit, especially with the Gryffindor Beaters not really even trying to get to the Bludgers before she or Celes did. There was little satisfaction in winning when there wasn’t really a sense of competition. Commentators would have been good for the match too, she supposed, but the idea of what would have been said about her Bludger hitting Edward made her wince. The argument that she hadn’t meant to do it wouldn’t hold much weight, Ali imagined, even if it was the truth – which it was!

August had to contain a smirk from showing on his face as his pass flew by Zak and landed in Anna's open arms. There was many a time when he was in Zak's position. Not today however. Today, the Ravenclaw team were playing like pros. Anna would soon be on her way to the goal and they would have another ten points.

She had the Quaffle! Now, she musn't let the giddy excitement go to her head. She must focus, close the remaining distance between here and the goals, and shoot. But would she score? She was so inexperienced! - if only there had been time for more practices, so that she could practice the sort of sneaky shots that August specialised in. Then again, the Keeper was equally inexperienced - Anna had shared a compartment with her on the train, so she knew that. Just a matter of beginner's luck, then. She tried adding a bit of spin to the Quaffle as she threw it towards the left goalhoop. Hopefully that would be enough to confuse the path and let it continue on past the Gryffindor Keeper... Anna didn't want to let Ravenclaw down, especially not now they were doing so well!
