Elisabeth felt the hot tears run down her cheeks as she raced down the busy streets. In her mind she replayed the last conversation she had with her boyfriend Jack. They had been together for just two months...and already everything was over. How could he do this to me? she thought to herself.
She broke down near the wall of a bookstore that she loved when she was a kid. Elisabeth fell against the wall and slid until she was sitting on the ground. She felt as though her insides were being torn apart. It's true, what they say about broken hearts. It feels like you'll never be whole again. Her aunt's voice echoed in her head. It's times like these when I wish I had a mother. ((Her mother was killed when she was about 7)) Elisabeth thought about everything that has happened in her life, buried her face in her hands and cried her soul out.
Elisabeth eventually calmed herself and slowed the tears. She watched all the people walk past her. It was as if they couldn't even see her. Who are these people? she wondered. If I saw someone crying I would stop. She looked across the cobblestone street and saw a young couple holding hands and kissing. This brought the pain up to the surface and she began to cry again. Elisabeth tucked her forehead into her knees and shook as she sobbed quietly.

Thomas had been with his family on the vacation from hell which was what Thomas thought. He decide to take a walk around the area. People were walking about some in couples others just walking looking forward barely paying attention to anything else. Thomas kept walking tell he heard what sounded like crying. He kept walking then say a girl sitting against the wall crying. He couldn't see the her face it was in her knees. Thomas didn't know what to do but he wasn't going to let her sit alone crying. He walked up to her then sat down next to her. "Mind if I join you in crying?" He said looking over at her hoping she won't get mad or anything.

A million thoughts swirled in Elisabeth's head. She was angry at everything; the couples across the street, Jack, but most of all she was mad at herself. How could i let something like this happen to me? What did i do wrong? She heard many pairs of feet rush by, and then she heard a voice coming from someone beside her. "Mind if I join you in crying?" The voice definitely belonged to a boy, and she didn't want him to think she was mean.
Elisabeth - removing her head from her knees just far enough so he could hear her - replied, "No, I don't mind. I could use some company right now. But please don't be offended if I'm not the best of company today." Elisabeth tried to keep the sadness and pain out of her voice but it was hard. She didn't expect him to be much of a help, but just having someone there made her feel a little better.

Thomas didn't really know what to say or what she was crying about. So he just sat there for a few seconds thinking of something to say. "That’s nonsense a beautiful girl like you being bad company that’s impossible." He said with a smile hoping that a complement would cheer her up a little. "Anyway I'm probably worse company then you are." He said still smiling. ” What should I say next hmm..." He thought to himself. "Well I'm Thomas, and what would you say if I told you I could do magic?" He said not know she was a witch. He had never seen or talked to her at Hogwarts so he wouldn't know anyway.

Elisabeth tried to calm herself, and she succeded in slowing the tears and calming her breath. She sat there for a while, wondering what to do. After a few moments of silence she heard him say, "That’s nonsense a beautiful girl like you being bad company that’s impossible." She smiled half-heartedly. He was nice. She was about to lift her head and talk to him when he said, "Well I'm Thomas, and what would you say if I told you I could do magic?" Her words - and her breath - caught in her throat. She couldn't believe that someone like her was talking to her like this.
Elisabeth slowly lifted her head and turned towords him, aware of the fact that her face was quite tear-stained. "I would believe you. I can do magic too. I'm a witch and I go to Hogwarts. Oh, by the way, my name is Elisabeth." She could feel her face turing redder...if that was even possible. "Thanks for what you said before, about me being, well, beautiful. That was really nice of you. I'm having a really, *chuckles* really bad day, but you being here is helping. Thank you"
Elisabeth let go of her knees and streched out her legs. She let her back and head lean against the wall. She snuck a look at Thomas, and was surprised at herself for what she thought.

Thomas just smiled when she looked up and kind of stopped crying. Thomas kind of felt odd he didn't think she was a witch. "Sorry I never saw you at Hogwarts People like us really need to where signs around are necks." Thomas said laughing thinking how funny it would be. " Saying something like magic person here." Thomas thought how easy it would be. He then looked back over at her she said started to seem better. Thomas then put his hand on her shoulder. "Trust me I've had bad days like this, maybe not I don't know what happened to you. But on a day like this its not good to be alone." He said with a smile.
"People sometimes go crazy being alone on these days." Thomas thinking of something funny. "Sadly it's to late for me I'm already crazy." He said with a big smile. "So back to talking about Hogwarts I'm in Hufflepuff forth year, how about you?" He said looking at her.

He has a nice smile. Elisabeth was shocked to find herself thinking such thoughts after the day's previous events. She laughed at Thomas' suggestion that us magical people should wear signs, at least that would be a source of entertainment. She was also surprised that her laugher was still as pure as it normally was; her aunt used to tell people it sounded like 'the tinkling of tiny silver bells.' Thomas looked at her, just to see if she was okay.
Elisabeth felt her breath stop short and her heart wrench when he placed his hand on her shoulder. She fought the urge to smile. "Trust me I've had bad days like this, maybe not I don't know what happened to you. But on a day like this its not good to be alone." He's right, it's not fun to be alone. Elisabeth thought to herself. He smiled at her again, and she felt her face burn.
"People sometimes go crazy being alone on these days." That made Elisabeth's smile fade a bit...she knew better than most what happened to people on days like this. She hope he hadn't noticed the scars on her arms, she hadn't bothered to cover them up today. But Thomas made her laugh again saying, "Sadly it's to late for me I'm already crazy." She seriously doubted that. He was too good-looking to be crazy. He asked Elisabeth what year and house she was in.
"I'm in Gryffindor, and I'll be going into my fourth year as well." She couldn't help feeling a little dismayed. Elisabeth didn't know many people who would date people outside their houses, and she couldn't help thinking he would make a really nice boyfriend. She didn't want to worry Thomas, but at the thought of boyfriends and such Elisabeth felt her eyes watering. She couldn't help it, that was one thing she could never control; her emotions. In the deepest, most secret part of her mind she thought, All I need is someone who will hold me, just hold me and talk to me while I cry. The feeling of Thomas' hand on her shoulder brought her back out of her thoughts, but she still felt silent tears sliding down her cheek.
(sorry this is so long...but she has some really heavy duty stuff going on. also i know it says G3, but i'm trying to get her to be moved up for the new school year)

As soon as she said her house he understood why he had never seen her before. Then she started to cry for some reason and Thomas thought it was his fault or something he did so he didn't say anything for a while. Thomas didn't really know what to do to cheer her up. Thomas just looking at her trying to think of a way to cheer her up. Thomas gave up on trying to cheer her up and just put his arm around her nick. "Don't worry cry all you want and hey this isn't my favorite shirt so you can blow you nose on it if you want." He said smiling but he didn't want to laugh right now.
"Anyway what ever happened it probably wasn't your fault." He said looking around people just kept walking by. ” Jeez I hate people like this, I know they see her crying and they just walk by." He thought to himself looking back at Elisabeth.

Through her teary eyes Elisabeth could see Thomas looking at her. He seemed at a loss for what to do. Then he put his arm around her neck, and held her closer to him. It was as if he knew exactly what she was thinking. "Don't worry cry all you want and hey this isn't my favorite shirt so you can blow you nose on it if you want." She could her the smile in his voice, but there wasn't even a hint of laughter.
"Anyway what ever happened it probably wasn't your fault." That was the same thing that Elisabeth kept trying to convince herself. She rested her head on Thomas' shoulder, hoping he didn't mind too much. She stopped think for a while, because she knew that would only make her cry more. She looked up at Thomas' face and saw that he was looking not at her but at all the people walking by. From the look on his face it was clear that he was angry at someone/something. Then he looked back at her and Elisabeth looked into his eyes for a moment before placing her head back on his shoulder.
"I'm not crying because of you. I just wanted you to know that." Elisabeth didn't want him to think he upset her. She could see her arm out of the corner of her eyes and she realised that there wasn't anyway to prevent Thomas from seeing the scars. She just closed her eyes for a moment and couldn't help noticing how perfectly she fit into the curve of his arms. She felt truly safe here. Elisabeth noticed the tears had stopped, and her breathing had returned to normal. She just relaxed, waiting for him to say something or for somethignt o happen.

Thomas just looked at her she had seemed to calm down then she said it wasn't his fault she was crying and Thomas felt a little better that he wasn't causing her to cry. Thomas saw the scars on her arms and was going to ask about them but he thought he would save that question till later, till she had calmed down a bit more. Thomas put his other arm around her and his hand on her hand. "It's ok don't worry." Thomas said in a low voice. Thomas turned his head back to the people still mad at them. They just kept walking if Thomas ever did that to someone he would hit himself. Thomas just looked back at her and only saw the back of her head.
Thomas then looked up at the sky it had gotten dark and almost looked like it would rain. ” Well perfect weather for a day like this." Thomas thought to himself. He then finally thought she had calmed down to ask her a question. "If you don't mind me asking what happened?" He said he had wanted to know since he was her crying.

Thomas seemed to feel better once Elisabeth told him that she wasn't crying because of him. After a few silent moments he moved his other arm around her and touched/held her hand. With a small smile she thought to herself, He's more affectionate than Jack ever was. In a low, calming voice Thomas told her it was going to be okay and not to worry.
Elisabeth saw him pause from looking at her or the passing people and look up at the sky. She looked up also and noticed that it looked like it was about to rain. She smiled. Elisabeth loved the rain for many reasons, and many were applicable in her current situation. Then Thomas asked her what happened. I guess I do owe him an explination. She took a deep, calming breath and look at Thomas. Without breaking the 'embrace' or moving his hand off of hers she began to tell him her story.
"My boyfriend Jack, he broke up with me today. One day before our 2 month anniversary, in the place we met. I really cared about him - I didn't love him though - and it just really hurt. And most kids go to their parents when stuff like this happens but-" Elisabeth stopped for a moment; she hadn't talked about this with many people. "My parents are both dead. The were Aurors and my mum died when I was six and my dad when I was eight. I know I'm overreacting, but my emotions are really strong and I can sometimes have trouble dealting with them. But you being here has made everything so much better. You're being so nice. Thank you." Elisabeth was surprised at how relieved she felt after she told him. She waited to see how he would react to what she had just revealed.

Thomas just smiled then listened to her when she was explaining what happened. It was sad to hear what happened then even worse to hear what happened to her parents. Thomas didn't have to worry about his parents being killed like that, He was Muggle-born so the worse that could happen to them at work is getting fired. "Your not overreacting at all." He said smiling. "You acting like anyone would I guess." Thomas said thinking for a second. "I don't really know how someone would react to that so I guess your acting about right." Thomas said Laughing a little as he thought out loud to himself.
Thomas looked at her then felt a small drop of water hit his forehead. Thomas laughed a little then smiled at Elisabeth. "As my mom always says if the first drop to land on you hits your head it's good luck." Thomas said smiling. "I don't know if it's true but I did meet you today, that has to be some kind of luck." He said smiling then laughing a little. It only rained lightly and not to heavy to rush people inside.

When Elisabeth began telling Thomas her story her was still smiling, but the smile faded as she mentioned what happened to her parents. He seems genuinely concerned. How sweet! It made her feel better when he said that she wasn't overreacting at all. Of course he lightened up the moment with his striking smile. It began to rain slightly, and a small drop hit Thomas on his head. He said that it's supposed to be good luck if that happens. Then he made Elisabeth genuinley smile for the first time that day saying, "I don't know if it's true but I did meet you today, that has to be some kind of luck."
"Well I am most certainly lucky. Really, without your comfort and kind words I probably would've -" Elisabeth stopped herself, as if she was heavily considering what she was about to say. "It doesn't matter now. I'm just so glad that you're here." I never cease to amaze myself. She thought. I'm already falling for this guy.
The rain intensified just enough to make a few people retreat to the warm shops. Elisabeth closed her eyes and leaned her head so the rain was falling on her face. Then she moved into Thomas' embrace just a little more. "I love the rain. It's so wonderful and beautiful." She looked directly at Thomas as she said this.

Thomas just smile while he listened to her talk then she said something about what could have happened if he did come around and he stopped smiling. "Well then I'm glad I decided to take a walk today." He could feel her in his arms and she seemed pretty calm right now. Thomas didn't let go of her even when he was sure she had calmed down, he didn't know why but he really didn't want to let go. ” I love the rain. It's so wonderful and beautiful." She said looking up at Thomas and he made an embarrassed smile for some reason. "Well then in that case you and the rain have two things in common." Thomas said with a smile.
He had to admit it was true, she was Beautiful. Thomas just smiled, the rain still wasn't heavy enough to force him inside yet and he guessed it was the same for her. Thomas moved his hand from hers and moved some hairs that were in her face. "That’s better." He said smiling then a little laugh. "So this jack guy you want me to go beat him up?" He said laughing meaning it as a joke.

Elisabeth smiled half-heartedly when he said that he was glad he took a walk today. She didn't think he totally understood what would've happened to her, but it was the first time that she had seen him without a smile and it worried her. "Well then in that case you and the rain have two things in common." Thomas had the most embarrased smile on his face, Elisabeth couldn't help but smile back. "Thanks."
The rain had pushed some hairs onto her face, and Elisabeth was about to use her free hand to move them when Thomas brushed them away. She felt her heart pounding...and she couldn't help wondering if he felt the same. With a smile and some laugher he asked her if she wanted him to beat up Jack. "Thank you but no. I wouldn't want anything to happen to you, and I'm not really mad at him for ending things....it's just the reason that bothers me. And besides, if he hadn't dumped me none of this would've happened."

Thomas just smiled then laughed. "Ok I won't hunt him down." Thomas said then laughed, Thomas thought about getting up and asking her if she wanted to walk around but he chanced his mind when he looked back at her, he didn‘t really want to let her go right now. ” Maybe a few more minutes." He thought to himself smiling, Thomas then put his hand back on hers. "Well I'm just glad to see your ok." He was going to ask what would have happened if he didn't come by but to tell the truth he didn't want to know. It wasn't that he didn't care, he just didn't want to know what could have happened. After a few minutes his leg fell asleep for some reason.
Thomas slowly let go of Elisabeth and got up. Thomas then turned to her and looked down. "You want to walk around or something my leg just fell asleep." He said as he looked down, his hand down to her for her to grab it. ” Figures I'm the one who ruins a great moment." He thought to himself still waiting to her what she had to say.

Thomas laughed, saying jokingly that he wouldn't hunt Jack down. Elisabeth was astonished at how comfortable and at ease she felt with him. She felt his hand on top of hers again, and he said that he was glad she was okay. "I'm glad too. It's all thanks to you. I have the feeling I'm going to be thanking you a lot today." Elisabeth laughed. It was quiet for a while, then - to her dismay - Thomas slowly let go of her and stood up. He moved slowly, as if he regretted what he was doing. "You want to walk around or something my leg just fell asleep." Elisabeth smiled to herself. She stood up and leaned back against the wall. She reached out for his hand, and held it. I never want to let him go. Elisabeth tried to silence her thoughts.
"Sure. I've been siting here for so long, it's probably a good idea if I move. Any place in mind that you wanted to go, or do you just want to walk." Elisabeth secretly hoped that they didn't have to go inside, she loved being with him out in the rain.

Thomas felt her grab his hand and stand up. Then she asked if he wanted to go anywhere or just walk around. Thomas hadn't thought about that he just couldn't sit down anymore or his leg would have been asleep forever. Thomas thought for a second and couldn't think of anywhere to go so he just smiled and looked at her. "I don't know I'll leave that up to you." He said smiling. "Just so long as we have to walk a little bit before we get there." He said walking forward a little then turning around, Thomas just smiled then laughed, He walked back to her and held her hand.
Thomas smiled at her and blushed a little. "Just in case I lose you or something." He said laughing . "I guess I'm just trying to make an excuses." He thought to himself waiting for her to say something.

Great...I get to choose where to go. Elisabeth hated making choices like this. It was such an interesting town...with so many places to go. As she was thinking she noticed Thomas walked a bit ahead and then turn and walk back. What is he doing? She chuckled to herself. Then he held her hand again, 'Just in case he lost her.'
Elisabeth interlaced her fingers with his, having finally decided where to go. "I have one thing I have to do first. I need to get something from a friend, and then we can go." She took a key-shaped necklace out from underneath her green shirt and pressed it into an opening in a brick on the wall. Then she pulled out the brick, revealing a small bottle.
Elisabeth took the bottle and put it in the pocket of her jeans. "Alright, I know just where to go...but it's a surprise." She flashed him one of her most devious smiles and held his hand even tighter.

Thomas just laughed a little confused at what had happened. ” She pulled a bottle out of a wall that’s kind of weird." Thomas thought to himself laughing. ” Well I have seen weirder." Still thinking to himself, he felt her hold his and tighter and Thomas just smiling looking into her eyes. It seemed she had something planned by the look in her eyes. Thomas just laughed hoping he wasn't part of her plan and if he was not on the wrong end of it. Thomas Just put that thought in the back of his head. Thomas had looked at the bottle before she put it in her pockets and he couldn't make out what it was so he didn't know what to expect.
Thomas looked at her for any hint on what she was going to do but he couldn't figure it out so he decide to just go along with it. He was pretty sure he was safe from anything bad if it was bad he just didn't know what to think. "Does it have to be a surprise?" He asked laughing a little at the end still holding her hand he didn't even notice he was anymore.
