Why that little... same beater again. Adalia glared at her beaters, swearing with her eyes to replace them if another bludger came near her. How was she supposed to focus on the snitch when she was in so much pain from the blooming bludger? What's done is done though, but after the game... Hell hath no fury...

She still hadn't managed to wrestle the Quaffle off that annoyingly persistent Hufflepuff, and once again it had been passed on into safety, away from Marla's prying hands. She flew straight after the next Hufflepuff to take possession. Things were getting worrying as they drew closer and closer to the Slytherin hoops, so this was the right time for her to test the defences of yet another Hufflepuff Chaser. She hoped this one would yield more easily - she was unaccustomed to having to work this hard at anything.

She wasn't as successful at getting in the way of the Slytherin Chaser this time, but it didn't seem to matter, as Grace got the Quaffle safely to Sophia anyway. "Go go go!" Sita yelled excitedly at Sophia, flying closely behind the same Slytherin Chaser yet again, trying to overtake her before they got anywhere near Sophia, so as to hold the girl back and give Sophia a clear run to the Slytherin goals.

Unfortunately Adalia had managed to avoid both of Billy's bludgers, but not to worry, at least Finn was still safe. Adalia must've just gotten used to being attacked and had become that bit more aware of the bludgers around her. Dylan was hitting one of the bludgers towards Finn, so instead of hitting the other one straight towards Adalia, which was his original plan, he decided to leave that one free and tried to defend Finn from this most recent bludger attack, deflecting that one towards Adalia. At the other end of the Pitch Grace managed to defend the Quaffle from Marla's most recent attempt to steal it and had passed it to Sophia...Billy hoped that the older Chaser would attempt to shoot and score, putting Hufflepuff in the lead.

((Ooops, my bad, hadn't noticed Wynd being substituted out...I'll delete my last post))
Right, Sophia now had the Quaffle, thanks to an almost effortless pass from Grace. Well, Marla had tried to steal it but that hadn't worked out, luckily. There was only one thing for it, she'd have to shoot to put Hufflepuff in the lead...she was determined to score this game, especially as it was her last for the team. She zoomed off towards the hoops, eventually coming face to face with the Slytherin Keeper. She could see Marla heading her way, probably trying to steal it from her, but she wouldn't let that get in the way. She threw the Quaffle towards the left hoop while Malcolm was looking away, hoping that he wouldn't notice in time to save it.

Another successful pass, and hufflepuff's chasers were another step towards dominating the opposition. Sophia was about to take a shot, but Mordred, a so far quiet slytherin chaser, was hovering nearby. The dual powers of both Sita and Grace defending Sophia would undoubtedly have an impact.

Finn watched as his team got nearer to the Slytherin goal with the Quaffle. The chasers really were working well as a team and Finn made a mental note to compliment them after the game. He only hoped that they might be able to score another three goals so that Hufflepuff had a chance of sneaking into second place. One step at a time though, he thought as he kept doing his task of snitch searching.

That was it! Thankfully she was on her guard against bludgers and not depending on those lumbering fools she called beaters! "Tiernan, get out of my sight! Valarien can play instead. Send up Tychus for April too" Adalia hollered, losing her patience. It didn't happen too often but it wasn't a pretty sight when it did. Hopefully getting their ranks shook up would put a fire in her team though...

Great! One bludger was already heading for Adalia and the other was free for him to hit at her too! he raced over there, hitting it towards her with all his strength. The game was slightly monotonous from his point of view, but he was helping and that was all that mattered. It seemed to be all go at the other end of the pitch as Sophia successfully kept the quaffle when Marla had tried to steal it, and then with a swift shot to the left hoop scored Hufflepuff's second goal, putting them ahead of Slytherin! EXCELLENT news, and Billy flew over to her to congratulate her right away. She was clearly an excellent chaser, and it would be a shame to see her leave this year, along with all the other 7th years on the team. He didn't dwell on this too much as he went back to chasing the bludgers, hoping that the one he'd just hit would hit Adalia.

YES, she'd Scored! That's all she could've asked for in her final game, other than obviously a Hufflepuff win! She grinned as the crowd cheered, before returning to concentrating on the game. Obviously Malcolm would have to pass now, so she kept an eye on all the Slytherin chasers, aware that he could pass to any of them, hoping to intercept any pass he made. As long as they stayed in possession of the quaffle they'd have the upper hand, athough it looked as if Finn was in a much better state than Adalia to catch the Snitch - the poor girl (despite being a Slytherin...) had really taken a beating from Billy's many bludgers, and yet another one was heading towards her now. She'd have to be wary of bludgers now, given she would be a prime target if she got the quaffle again!

Hooray! Sophia had scored, taking Hufflepuff 10 up for the first time in the match - now things were looking really good. But they needed more goals still, if they could manage to get them... because Slytherin had got that early goal, one of the Hufflepuff Chasers needed to score yet again to give them a chance of finishing level with Slytherin for the season. Two more goals and they could finish second... but that seemed a bit ambitious. Focus on one thing at a time.
The Slytherin Vice had made a couple of changes to her line-up, and there was a new Chaser. Sita had never seen him play before, so he was a bit of an unknown quantity. She'd test it out, see how easily she could get in his way...

Another goal! Finn gave a shout of approval as he watched the crowd of yellow erupt with cheers. That put Hufflepuff in the lead by ten and gave yet another boost of confidence to his team. Finn continued searching for the snitch though, knowing that it could surely show up at any time. And, when it did, he needed to be able to beat Adalia to it.

Ah Quidditch. The wonderful game of speed, agility, and strength. The day was quite warm and Valarien was partially glad to be on the bench today. The opponent was Hufflepuff, not that big of a deal, and he'd rather not be out there sweating it out in this heat. Valarien sat on the bench, twirling his beater bat around his dexterious fingers. Valarien wasn't a very large person, just slightly above average for his age. Yet when he struck a Bludger at an opposing player, his accuracy and power was known well enough. Valarien remembered the day he had assigned to the beater position. It had been merely a formality for him to try out the position, without even trying he had knocked a chaser off his broom with a well aimed headshot. His fate had been sealed ever since.
The game wasn't going so well for Slytherin, which was surprising. The Bludgers were running wild and the Chasers were running circles around the field. Already, Hufflepuff was in the lead by a score. He glanced over at Adalia and noticed the familiar hand signalings for substitution, and predictably she pointed at him. "Time to shine." Valarien said as he stood from the bench and quickly mounted his firebolt. With a lazy kick he was in the air and quicky took his place on the field. He hadn't enough had enough time to orient himself before he was being tested. He noticed two Bludgers being sent toward Adalia. "Not on my watch."
valarien grabbed the attention of the other Beater and pointed at one of the Bludgers, "Get that one." He than flew to Adalia's side to defend her, as he moved a perfect target presented itself.

Tychus hated being on the bench. Who cared about fairness and letting everyone get the chance to play? Quidditch was a sport, and sports were about winning. You won't win games by being fair to all team members, you won by playing your best members, and Tychus was one of them. He watched angrily as the game started and all the players rose into the air. He should be up there giving his all for the team victory, instead he was stuck here watching the whole show. The game was extremely back and forth for the first few moments. Slytherin scored here, Hufflepuff scored there, Bludgers were flying like crazy knocking players around, and the snitch was nowhere to be seen. "Idiot, hold the Quaffle better and it wont get stolen." Tychus grumbled under his breath as he watched the Slytherin Chasers.
"Watch your back she's trying to mark you! Damn, I told you." He could hardly bear to watch the Chaser's continue to blunder as they were. Tychus groaned as he watched a Hufflepuff Chaser break from the pack and make a bee line for the goal hoops. "Somebody stop her!" He shouted but it was too late. Hufflepuff was putting another 10 points on the board. Finally, Adalia waved him in. "Hell, its about time." He said and mounted his broom and launched himself into the air. "Let me show you how to play." Tychus boomed as he joined his team.
The pause was only momentary as play quickly resumed. The keeper still had possesion of the Quaffle. "Come on, pass it." Tychus shouted. He spotted a Hufflepuff chaser coming in to mark him. "Not today sweetheart." Tychus quickly dived to avoid her, while still keeping an eye out for the eventual pass.

For the second time Adalia saw the quaffle fly through the Slytherin hoops. If she had any other keepers Adalia would have pulled that Malcolm kid out too. It seemed to be working for the beaters and chasers, there was a fair bit more gusto on the green side again. They had been doing so well... now was the time to find that snitch though...
