Hufflepuff vs Slytherin!

The sun was still blazing but Adalia whipped up her own breeze by flying so quickly along the pitch. Also, from her vantage point Adalia could see the players in green really overpowering the ones in yellow, Adalia was sure that was Wynd with the quaffle again, having intercepted a Hufflepuff pass. If things continue like this they will really have this game in the bag... but of course that was dangerous thinking. Normally Adalia had no qualms with being cocky, but in quidditch it tended to cause problems, make people slip up. Being excited and standing strong really helped to motivate and dominate, arrogance caused compliance. So, with a smirk she couldn't suppress, Adalia went back to the hunt, that snitch couldn't be far...

This was Grace's time to do her best. Lehane was in possession of the quaffle, hovering in front of the Hufflepuff goals having just intercepted a pass from immediately beside them. This was not another chance for him to score, that would be made sure of.

Golly, things just got worse and worse. Sita took a deep breath, trying to dispel the sinking feeling in her chest. They could still turn this around! She saw Grace flying up to Lehane with a determined look on her face, and smiled - that was the attitude they needed!

Now that Grace was trying to get the Quaffle off Lehane, hopefully he would be pushed to make a hasty pass that she might be able to intercept... Sita watched carefully, waiting for the moment to pounce...

Wynd had been running a bit of a one-man show wonder as far as the Slytherin team went, but Marla was back in the game now and with the Hufflepuff Chasers closing in around him, Lehane was going to be forced to make a pass or risk having his ego ruin the Slytherins' winning streak. Marla waited expectantly for the Quaffle to come to her - how long it took would be a good measure of exactly how large that ego was.

Keeping him busy.....that's all that went through Dylan's head as he watched Finn avoid one of his Bludgers, just to be pursued by the other that Dylan had just sent flying after him. It's funny, because Dylan really did think of the Bludgers as his personal possessions, and the other Beaters were not allowed to touch them. Keep him busy....he caught up to the Bludger that Finn avoided, determined to hit his target.

Oh dear, the bludger Billy had intended to hit towards Adalia had unfortunately gone right past his bat and was still on target for Finn. Fortunately, Finn managed to avoid the bludger anyway so it wasn't too diasterous, but Billy was still going to try and defend him as well as possible - they couldn't afford to lose their valuable seeker! Also, Wynd now had the quaffle again which was never a good thing, despite Sophia's attempts to mark him - he was just too good a player!

But for now the most pressing matter was the bludger that Dylan had just hit in Finn's direction. Once again Billy tried to defend the seeker and deflect it to Adalia.

Gah, somehow Wynd had managed to sneak out from behind her at the last minute to intercept Gavin's pass and was now back in possession of the quaffle. Great. There was only one thing she could do, mark and distract him while he tried to pass (which he inevitably would do) as it looked like Grace was going to steal and Sita intercept should he end up passing. There were still bludgers flying everywhere, mostly being targetted at the seekers which made Sophia feel somewhat safer and glad she wasn't a seeker herself! Oh yes, she'd stick to handling the quaffle as a chaser, or occasionally keeper.

Despite the minor setback in allowing Slytherin to score, Hufflepuff seemed to be doing a bit better. His beaters were, for the most part, keeping the Bludger away from Finn, and the Chasers currently had possession of the Quaffle. Finn's eyes were constantly on the lookout for the Snitch though, knowing that he'd take a win any day, even if it currently meant being in third place. Anything was better than dead last.

Still nothing to be seen! And with all those bludgers flying after her it was only getting more and more difficult to get her job done! That, however, was the life of a seeker; the players most injured. Adalia glanced at the game where she noticed Slytherin had lost possession of the quaffle. 'Come on guys!' she thought as she searched the skies.

Dylan smirked as the Hufflepuff Beater managed to defend Finn from one of his Bludgers, but there was still another one headed toward their Seeker. He flew over to Adalia where the other Bludger was quickly heading, a bit more focus behind the swing of his bat this time...

It looked like the ego was stronger than the teamwork, as Wynd left the pass too late and one of the Hufflepuff girls got the Quaffle off him. Marla swooped in, determined to get the red ball back in her own team's possession.

Sita smiled a little as Grace got the Quaffle. Lehane was annoyingly good - someone that unpleasant didn't deserve to be so good - but Grace had got the better of him this time. Sita stayed close by, and moved to block off the younger girl she saw closing in on her fellow Chaser. "I'm here to pass to if you need!" she called to Grace.

Billy smiled as the bludger he'd been aiming for hit is bat and then went flying off in Adalia's direction, once again. Unfirtunately Dylan hit the other bludger back towards Finn, but he would just once again try and defend the Seeker, and hit it towards Adalia...this game was getting slightly repetitive for him, but at least he was generally doing a good job and Finn was still safe and Adalia wasn't quite! Grace had also managed to get the quaffle from Wynd, which was no mean feat, after the Slytherin had intercepted Gavin's pass having just scored.

Yes! Her distraction hadn't seemed to work too well, but Grace had still managed to steal the quaffle from Wynd. She smiled over at her younger teammate as she decided what to do. Sophia herself decided to carry on marking Wynd, as Sita had already moved over to Marla who was attempting to steal the quaffle, and it was impossible to tell what Wynd would do! Hopefully she'd distract him from his choices, and she also hoped that Sita would stop Marla stealing from Grace, as they needed the quaffle to stay between the Hufflepuffs, for now at least!

She swooped in and grasped the quaffle straight from Lehane's grasp. Exhilarated, she spun off in the other direction, ball securely fastened to her side. Sita was nearby, marking a slytherin girl. "it's all yours," she communicated with her by nodding, before tossing the ball in her direction.

Adalia had been right to warn her chasers about the Hufflepuff team's skills. Wynd seemed to have the whole chaser gig down but Slytherin were not playing as a team while Hufflepuff were, and it was showing. However, all that had to be righted after this game, nothing to be done about it now, they will have an emergency practice before term ended maybe. Right now it was Adalia's job to focus on the snitch, not the chasers. She made an abrupt turn as she saw something shinning behind her...

Here it was, the Hufflepuff's were bringing the quaffle his way again! 'All three rings, she could go for any one' Malcolm told himself as the chaser got closer and closer. He sneaked a glance at the crowd who seemed to be holding their breath, either hoping for him to get it, or hoping for him not to. Malcolm knew more people wanted him to miss it... but more important people wanted him to catch it... Either way he would see...
