After Adalia's run in with the Bludger, it seemed Finn was the new target. He had dodged one, but it seemed there was soon to be another coming his way. While this didn't help his concentration any, it did force him to move around on the pitch a bit more, perhaps increasing his chance of a happening to fly into the Snitch by pure luck. And, on any given day, Finn wasn't ashamed to rely on a little luck.

The Quaffle went past her outstretched hands, and again Sita felt that she had failed her team. But she wasn't going to give up yet, not until the final whistle blew would she give up. Lehane had the Quaffle and she accelerated towards him, aiming to put herself in the same position alongside him that had allowed her to wrest the Quaffle from his possession before. This time she had confidence on her side - she had proved that he was not invincible - but then this time he might be more determined to keep hold of it, having been humiliated once...

While Adalia was around the Slytherin goal she saw Wynd catch the quaffle despite many bodies in yellow trying to interfere. Adalia gave herself a moment to cheer for her team, they really were doing well, being aggressive, and powering through even on this hot day. Of course it was inadvisable to stay in one place too long, especially with so many bodies around to get in the way of her vision. Not to mention all the bludgers being hit around. It had always been Slytherin practice to aim for the seeker first and foremost, but it would seem Hufflepuff had seen the wisdom in that at some point. The beaters really seemed active in this game, made it interesting. Sore, but interesting. She still owed that boy... he would get his within the coming weeks. For now, however, Adalia made a lap around the pitch squinting around for something shinning.

With the quaffle back in Slytherin's possession, Finn once again split his concentration between his task of searching and watching his team. It was like a habit. He couldn't help but be a little bit nervous when they were in possession of the Quaffle. He was much more capable of focusing on his own task when he knew the Quaffle was in the safe hands of a fellow badger. Either way, he was still searching for the snitch, his hands pulling up and pushing down on his broom handle to guide him through the mess of players in the middle of the pitch. Sometimes the little flying ball had a mind of its own, and he figured that perhaps it was hiding amidst the chaos of chasers and beaters.

After successfully defending his Seeker, Dylan turned his attention elsewhere....mainly to the Bludger that was flying at Wynd. He wondered who would be the best target, Finn coming to the front of his mind again. Dylan sped up and raised his bat..

Grace's determined face remained focused, jamming into Lehane's path. She was not, however, done yet, and she pursued after him once again, the red quaffle fastened to his side.

Sita got the quaffle away from him! "Go Sita!" Gavin shouted after his friend, she really was amazing at this game. He always knew she was amazing, but somehow it surprised him game after game. Maybe it was that things were always just so chill when they were together, he never really thought about the other things they each did in their lives. She made it to the hoops without trouble but didn't manage to get the quaffle in, some young guy Gavin had never seen before managed to defend them. Now it was really Gavin's responsibility to keep that quaffle out... couldn't be seen as worse than the new kid.

There is a bit more hubbub with the quaffle on the other side of the pitch before Gavin saw the other Slytherin, Wynd his name is, barrelling his way back again. Now was the time, he needed to be on his game...

Adalia circled the pitch twice before hearing the Slytherin end of the crowd erupt, they had scored! Sweet, her team were not letting her down in their final game of the year. Now it was up to her to catch the snitch, though it wouldn't hurt if they scored a few more times just to point out that they could.

Out of the corner of her eye Adalia saw something, but it wasn't the snitch. It was time to give April a break, it was the girl's first game and she had been working hard to keep up, even if she couldn't defend Adalia from that bludger. Adalia signaled to Hooch she was taking April out and putting Marla back in, the girl had sat for awhile now, she was probably ready to come back in.

That dealt with Adalia swung up above the game hoping that the view would help her catch sight of the snitch...

... That was fast. Gavin groaned as he retrieved the quaffle that had flown right through the hoops... Wow, was that ever disappointing. There is always next time, the game doesn't end that fast. First point wins is not always, or even really often, the way of it in quidditch. Gavin rallied all his strength before turning back to the crowd with a good natured grin on his face, it wasn't easy but it was there.

"Heads up!" he said with a wink towards Sita. If there was anyone he trusted to turn this game in Hufflepuff's favour it was surely Sita. Of course Finn would catch the snitch anyways, but some goals were always awesome. Sure, the Slytherins knew from his wink where the quaffle were going but... they could easily have guessed anyways. Besides, with his faith flagging he needed the quaffle with someone he trusted with everything he had...

"Damnit!" Finn muttered under his breath as he saw the students in Slytherin section cheering loudly as the announcer proclaimed the first goal of the game. Wynd Lehane had struck first blood, putting the snakes up 10-0. Finn pulled hard on his broom handle, flying toward his Keeper to give him some encouragement. There was no use pointing blame. What was done was done. Finn could only offer moral support if he wanted the lead to stop at ten.

The sound of the Slytherin supporters erupting in triumph was like a physical blow in the stomach to Sita, after she had messed up her own attempt on goal. Now they were a goal down, and it was her fault that the score wasn't just even. But Gavin was getting ready to pass the Quaffle to her, so he hadn't lost faith in her yet... now it was time to make up for her previous mistake.

Ooops, Billy had been somewhat distracted and had managed to miss the bludger that had been heading towards Wynd! Luckily he'd managed to avoid it anyway so no real harm done, but Dylan was hitting yet another bludger towards him, which Billy DIDN'T miss this time, so he flew over there and attempted to hit the bludger towards Adalia, yet again. Unfortunately among all this Wynd had managed to score a goal, which was annoying, but Billy was sure that Hufflepuff still had a good chance of winning overall, especially if he managed to distract Adalia enough, though he hoped he didn't hurt her too much.

Oh dear, while Sophia had been distracted Wynd had scored for Slytherin, despite Grace and Sita's best efforts to mark and steal from him. This wasn't ideal, but she knew that Hufflepuff could come back and win if they kept on playing as well as they were doing so far. Billy was doing an excellent job at attacking Adalia and Vincente was doing well with the other Beater jobs, the Chasers were all doing well (other than letting Wynd keep the quaffle, he was just an excellent player himself), Finn was still adamently looking for the Snitch and Gavin had been very attentive, it had just been a very tricky shot to defend against.

Anyway, Sophia thought that the best option would be to mark Wynd, given that they couldn't let him get hold of the quaffle again or he'd just continue to dominate it. She sat there, carefully marking Wynd as Gavin passed to Sita.

Dylan shrug off Finn dodging his Bludger, and flew as fast as he could to catch it before the other teams Beater could get to it; if it were one lesson he took from the Chasers, it was control. As a Chaser, you wanted to make sure that your team had control of the Quaffle as much as possible. So, as a Beater, Dylan tried to make sure that his team controlled the Bludgers as much as possible. He raised his bat in another attack...
