Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw!

Melody saw the Bludger reach its mark and her first instinct was to look away. Then she winced, looking back. She'd never been comfortable with the fact that people got hurt in games of Quidditch, but she'd definitely become more sensitive. Knowing that she'd hurt someone - the Ravenclaw captain was obviously in pain - made her feel sick, and in some ways she found it annoying that she was so weak. She didn't think that the other Beaters suffered from such qualms. To make things worse, Matt looked thunderous as he hit the Bludger towards one of the Gryffindor Chasers, and Melody feared his disapproval of her as a person. Because suddenly Quidditch had turned personal for her. She raced after the Bludger, wanting to keep her teammate safe, but even more than that wanting to hit the horrid thing as far away from the vulnerable people on the pitch as she had strength to do.

Zoey watched over the pitch for one of the rare moments in a Beater's job that was free. She had hit a Bludger toward the Ravenclaw Seeker, and Melody was taking care of the other Bludger headed toward Danny. Looking to see how her team was doing, she had mixed feelings. For one thing, she was proud and happy. The team she was captaining today, was up by ten. Not the much, but they were winning so far. The other side was wanting more. She felt greedy, wanting more from her team when they might be doing their best already, but Raveclaw had the Quaffle! Wishing she could just jump in the Chaser action and help out, she gripped her bat and focused her attention on her job- protecting her team.

Bradley was not pleased when the Quaffle was passed successfully between Adriahna and Woodrow. "C'mon girls!" he yelled forcefully at Rhoswen and Raina, who hadn't been fast enough to help him stop Adriahna. "Help me out here!" When Bradley got into a game, he could be relatively aggressive and very competitive - especially when he knew they had every possibility and talent of winning this match. If they lost, Bradley would be extremely annoyed. His annoyance would eventually fade, but it would take time, and he'd be in a foul mood for days, much to the chagrin of everyone around him. Colin especially didn't understand it at all. Steeling himself, Bradley flew forward towards Woodrow; if the girls weren't going to act, he would - and stealing and strength had always been his strong suit.

His adrenaline would not leave him. The sweat on his forehead, irritating him, was wiped away quickly by the cuff of his quidditch robe. The confident pride that swelled inside him would not leave, would not rest. August was out of the game, the last bludger hit seeming to have given him an injury. In a flash, Zoey had hit a bludger at Williard, which brutally collided head on with him. Melody had also deflected his shot on the Gryffindor chaser, knocking the bludger away from all human contact. Matthew, fully aware that in Augusts absence the role of captain was layed upon him, looked around at his team and prepared to take action. His eye catching Olivia, he yelled over to her, "Olivia, recover that bludger that just hit Williard and hit it straight for Danny!", as he shot off to the other side of the pitch to retrieve Melody's long hit bludger. Catching up with it, he launched it back into the action, heading straight for Bradley, who was in fast pursuit of their chaser, Woodrow. "Woodrow, go for goal!" he shouted, as the bludger launched towards his pursuer.

Andrews eyes darted around the pitch, taking in what was going on. His skill on a broom had never been that great; a great deal of luck was to thank for him getting on the house team, performing well for the first time in his life in the auditions. He just hoped that he could maintain this positive vibe, and he set off into action, determination setting in.

Yes!!!

Once again, she got ANOTHER hit on a Ravenclaw. She felt bad about August, since it was a really good Bludger and a clean hit she got on him, and then he got his by another sent by Melody. It was a little harsh, yes, but when it came to being a Beater, many didn't understand that tactics that were seemingly cruel became a vital part of winning. She sent a smile toward Melody, who's facial expression from what she saw wasn't to good... Worried, she shot off in the other direction, racing toward the free Bludger that had struck the young Seeker and began meandering aimlessly about the pitch. Looking around, she saw that Melody was saving Danny...But deflected to to nowhere? What was she thinking?

Her fellow fourth year was...off since she got back from god-knows-where. No one had any sort of clue where she was, but since she got back, she kept quiet and always had a sour expression on her face. What happened to the Melody, happy and cheerful, that Zoey knew? "Melody, take a break, I'll get Luis in here." she called once Melody was in ear shot, and she shouted the orders to Hooch.

Woodrow caught the Quaffle deftly. With a mischievous grin he turned to the Gryffindor hoops and headed for them. " This is great, awesome pass Adriahna!" he yelled through the air. He heard Matt's voice from somewhere nearby yelling for him to score. There was no need to tell him twice as that was what he was already doing, yet out of the corner of his eye he saw a crimson blur heading his way. 'Damn,' he thought, ' this guy is twice my size.' Knowing that the Gryffindor boy could easily steal the Quaffle if he laid a hand on it, Woodrow attempted to use the Sloth Grip Roll to defend from the Gryff guy, and if he was successful, he intended to take his shot.

Danny did a full circle around the pitch looking up and down the the Snitch and still nothing but a few gold glints coming from the students watching the game. Danny just shrugged it off as watches or other jewelry that people just had to wear during a Quidditch game. He was almost positive that they did this on purpose just to mess with seekers and he knew for sure that the Slytherins did it and weren't afraid to hide it either. Danny kept flying around and still no Snitch to be found. He looked over to the Ravenclaw Seeker but he hadn't seemed to have found the Snitch yet either which was a relief to Danny. He sighed and then leaned into his broom once more to find a better spot to look for the Snitch.

The Bludger soared off, out of harm's way, and Melody watched it go with an apathetic expression. She heard Zoey calling her over and felt relief flooding her insides at the prospect of being substituted out of the game. She did need to take a break from the drama of the pitch. Before she went, she took a swipe at the Bludger Matt had just sent at Bradley, not wanting any of her teammates to get hurt on her watch.

Melody skillfully deflected his bludger, and as a result of his inability to be in two places at once, Zoeys bludger towards Woodrow soared straight at him effortlessly, colliding painfully with him. This painful attack caused Woodrow to lose concentration and drop the quaffle.

The Gryffindor seeker, however, seemed to have spotted something. Still refusing to give up, Matthew dived quickly in direction of the bludger that had just hit Woodrow.

Bradley was more than pleased to see yet another well-aimed Bludger hit one of the Ravenclaw Chasers, and the Quaffle fell like a dead weight from Woodrow's arms. Bradley wasted no time diving to get it. The girls didn't seem to be concentrating, which irked him enormously, but now wasn't the time to be exacting his frustration; the game was more important, and Bradley would work extra hard if his teammates wouldn't. As he dropped from the sky, he heard a familiar excited roar from the crowd, and tried not to be distracted when he realised someone had seen the Snitch. He hoped it was the Gryffindor Seeker rather than the Ravenclaw one; the game seemed to be almost over, but Bradley still had to concentrate on the task at hand.

Williard bit down hard on his lower lip after the Bludger hit him on his right thigh. Just as he was about to examine it, he noticed the Gryffindor Seeker's face light up, and then Williard knew that he had seen the Snitch! Ignoring the pain, he sped up, full of determination. And once he caught up, he reached his hand out, praying to Merlin that he could win the game for his team for the very first time.....

Zoey winced and but her lip, as if the nasty little Bludger she had sent toward Woodrow had hit her with the same, even half the force as if hit him. It was so nasty and forceful, in fact, he dropped the Quaffle out of his hands, and it was falling toward the earth slowly, waiting for someone to pick it up....She gazed in wonder for a second, her mind weak form the stress and quick thinking of the game, and her body twice as tired from all the effort she was putting into, which was paying off. By far, this was her best game yet. She had hit three Ravenclaws- August, Woodrow and Willard, but she was feeling awfully guilty about hitting them...Especially August. She let out half a sigh before she heard the crowd scream, and she whipped her head toward the Seekers, accidentally whipping her bat in hand toward her face and hitting her lip... but her thoughts trailed of that. Danny had that gleam in his eye, and he jolted on his broom... HE HAD SEEN THE SNITCH!!!

Smiling, and then realizing that he was being attacked ferociously by Matthew, a tough competitor, she instantly whipped her broom around, ignoring the taste of blood from her lip. As she raced against the Bludger, she was getting really annoyed with he feeling of blood trickling down her lip... She whipped it quickly with her sleeve before yelling a warning. "Danny! Bludger coming your way!" she screamed toward him, excited and panicky at the same time. She was excited for the obvious reason- Danny was chasing the Snitch, but she was panicky, not wanting to lose the game Gryffindor was doing so well at.

Quaffle is with Gryffindor...WAIT! RAVENCLAW?!

Luis's head was definitely in the game, the only problem was that he was out. He felt like such a loser, sitting on the bench and being the typical bench warmer, as his family of muggles called it. He loved Quidditch, ever since he had watched the first game here at Hogwarts, he dreamed of protecting his team with his bat an hand and slamming Bludgers at people... Sort of like the two younger girls out there, his Vice and a girl he thought's name was... Melanie? Anyways, he looked again at the Chasers, before feeling a bat pressed to him, and hearing orders to go out onto the pitch.

ONTO THE PITCH?!
Oh man, he was excited. No, he was past excited... There wasn't even a word to describe the ecstatic feeling he was feeling as he zoomed past the Vice, in pursuit of a free Bludger he had his eye on from the benches that the girl, Melanie...NO! Melody. The Bludger Melody had defended a Chaser from and directed it to somewhere obviously not a target. He smiled, aiming toward a double attack on the Ravenclaw Seeker.

[Woodrow Winchester R4]

Suddenly something barreled into Woodrow's back, causing him to gasp with pain and drop the Quaffle at the same time. 'Bloody hell!' thought Woodrow, ' Remind me not to really make her angry.' Looking around the pitch, he noticed many things at once. For one, Bradley was after the Quaffle, but that mattered nothing compared to the fact that the Gryffindor seeker was after the Snitch! Biting his lip, He flew after the Quaffle. As he flew, he noticed Williard flying after the Snitch as well, and silently prayed that Williard caught it.

“That couldn't be.” Danny said as he sat on his broom and watched a golden orb just float by him. Danny just stared at it not really believing it was the Snitch, after all this searching it was right in front of him just bobbing around. Danny knew what would happen but he just tried to reach out and grab it quickly but as he thought it toke off faster then ever before he even got close to it. He let out a small grunt has he leaned into his broom hard and chased after it. As Danny chased it he could hear the crowd of students yelling, which he was sure meant that the Ravenclaw seeker had noticed him by this point and was after the Snitch as well. Danny focused on the little ball the best he could keeping his eyes on it with every slight move it made. He could hear Zoey yelling warning him about a Bludger but Danny did want to look away from the Snitch, one look away and he might lose it. He also trusted Zoey with dealing with the Bludger well before he would have to deal with it. “Just a little bit more.” Danny mumbled has he reached out for the Snitch as hard as he could.

Zoey paused in mid air, almost dropping her bat as the crowd went beserk and her world went silent. The Seekers were racing for the Snitch, and Danny was ahead. She crossed her fingers and bit her lip, instantly yelping at the injury she foolishly gave herself and just hurt. She patted it, seeing no blood there and more, but the pain lingered. Danny reached out and... HE CAUGHT IT! Zoey cheered, screaming her lungs out in happiness and pride of Danny and her team. Ravenclaw hadn't even scored a point, and while the Raven's got slaughtered, her team remained untouched by a Bludger. She smiled, lowering to the ground and dropping her broom once she was able to jump off. She instantly ran to to Danny, hugging and jumping with joy.

"You caught it again!! Without a dragon!" she smiled, pulling him closer and pressing her lips to his. She them pulled back. her eyes wide and the crowd going silent for a second before 'awh'ing. Her cheeks went almost as red as her Quidditch robe she wore, as she stood there with her arms around him and her blue eyes wide with shock of what she had just did...And liked.
