((There has been a change in the Ravenclaw line-up. Anna Monkshood R5 has been subbed into the game as a Chaser, and Woodrow has been subbed out of the game.
There has been a change in the Gryffindor line-up. Lenora Byers G7 has been subbed into the game as a Seeker, and Danny has been subbed out of the game.
Zoey, you can’t defend against the Bludger heading at Danny until the round that starting with this post! Until then it isn’t decided whether or not the Bludger is going to end up heading at Danny!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Matthew focuses on defending August from Melody’s Bludger attack, and attempts to deflect the Bludger towards Danny. Melody = Bludger (D6 + Str) = 3 + 6 = 9 Matthew = Focus Defend (D8 + Str + 2) = 8 + 3 + 2 = 13 Matthew deflects the Bludger successfully! There is a Bludger flying at Danny. Since Danny has been subbed out of the game, his replacement can bear the brunt instead... There is a Bludger flying at Lenora!
Melody hits a Bludger at Ephraim; Celes attempts to defend against the Bludger attack. Melody = Bludger (D6 + Str) = 6 + 6 = 12 Celes = Defend (D8 + Str) = 6 + 3 = 9 Celes fails to defend Ephraim from the Bludger.
It is assumed that Celes would warn Ephraim to dodge the Bludger. Melody = Bludger (D6 + Str) = 1 + 6 = 7 Ephraim = Avoid (D8 + Dex) = 3 + 6 = 9 Ephraim dodges Melody’s Bludger!
Rhoswen attempts to block August. Rhoswen = Mark (D4 + Dex) = 1 + 6 = 7 August = Avoid (D8 + Dex) = 4 + 6 = 10 Rhoswen fails to mark August.
August attempts to mark Raina. August = Mark (D4 + Dex) = 4 + 6 = 10 Raina = Avoid (D8 + Dex) = 4 + 3 = 7 August marks Raina successfully! Raina will suffer a –2 penalty on her moves this round.
Bradley attempts to mark Adriahna. Bradley = Mark (D4 + Dex) = 2 + 3 = 5 Adriahna = Avoid (D8 + Dex) = 4 + 0 = 4 Bradley marks Adriahna successfully!
Raina attempts to score. Ephraim did not post so will not get his stat points for defending. Raina = Score (D6 + Str –2) = 6 + 3 – 2 = 7 Ephraim = Save (D6 + Dex) = 2 + 0 = 2 Raina scores! Ephraim has the Quaffle.

Deflecting the bludger successfully towards the Gryffindor seeker, Matt yelled encouragement to August, and shot off in the opposite direction. His eyes, narrowed as they scanned the entire pitch, located a free bludger at the other end of the pitch, a few feet away from their goalposts. He swerved around the other players, each of whom were focused on their own role. Reaching the free bludger, Matt swooped around it, his bat firmly ready in his hand. He met the ball with a satisfying crack, yelled further encouragement to Ephraim, before tearing up the pitch again, racing the ball towards it target and ready to get into the midst of action.

Lenora waited patiently in the stands as the quidditch match against Ravenclaw began, excited to see how it went down. Gryffindor scored and everything was all swell and exciting when she heard Madam Hooch's whistle and saw Danny leaving the pitch, that meant she was in as seeker. Usually she played chaser so this was a bit odd for her, but that made it all the more exciting. The snitch was so much smaller and so much faster than the quaffle, and she would be working on her own rather than as part of a trio, and that made it thrilling. With an excited swoop in her stomach Lenora sped off onto the pitch only to find herself thrown right into the hot seat with two bludgers chasing her.

Adriahna sat on her broom watching people fly this way and that, all over the pitch. She tried to keep up but there were so many people! Her head was swimming, all the people, all the excitement, the adrenaline flowing through them all... She needed to get into the game though, had no choice, otherwise they would get steamrolled. This game she was a chaser, and that was pretty cool, working as a team in conjunction with the other chasers. Adriahna groaned as Gryffindor scored and flew toward the Gryffindor keeper, trying to get in the way of the quaffle. ((Intercepting the pass.)) Actually, Ephraim has the Quaffle currently, so I hope you wouldn't be intercepting a pass to your own team

August surprised himself by cursing aloud. He had aided E by successfully marking Raina and yet he still did not save the Quaffle from entering the goals. It was as if his head was literally in the clouds. The sudden goal made him think twice about putting E as the Keeper. It had been so long since August had been able to play as Keeper and he was looking forward to it. That's the way the cookie crumbles. It would have been very easy to yell at E right now. But what good would that do? None. August bit his tongue. Maybe this was just a momentary lapse in E's judgment. The next move was his.

Zoey watched as Danny flew off the pitch, and guilt struck her. Truthfully, he wasn't looking to good in the pitch...He kind of seemed to hover. Maybe this could just be a scare to get him into the game...? She nodded to her self, deciding to switch out Lenora for Danny. "Danny back on the pitch, Lenora out!" she shouted toward Hooch before looking and seeing a Bludger heading toward Lenora currently. "Awh..." she sighed a little, veering sharply to turn to Lenora and gripping her bat and looking around for a good target. August seems good...Gotta help Raina out...

If Anna hadn't owed August a favour then she would probably not be up here, hovering at a perilous height above the ground and trusting to a thin piece of wood to keep her airborne. But she did owe him one after she'd spilt ink all over his friend's notes in the Student Lounge and the mess had been sorted out with a neat charm before his friend returned to discover the disaster. She wasn't extraordinarily clumsy, but these things happened sometimes, and she was grateful to him for not bringing it up every time they bumped into each other. Some people would. Some people had nothing better to think about, but presumably as the Quidditch Captain he had plenty of more important things to occupy his mind.
Anyway, she supposed Quidditch wasn't that bad. She was reasonably sporty, even though she usually preferred to focus on her studies and to pursue more intellectual extra-curricular activities in her free time, so that she would never be dedicated enough to become a part of the main team. But by playing in the game she did get to make a contribution to her house, and to take some direct action to avoid this game turning into as much of a fiasco as the one against Slytherin.
Not that things were looking very bright at the moment... Gryffindor had scored barely a minute and a half into the game. But with that goal came Anna's chance to make her mark, as superior age was substituted in over the team's only youngster. Swiftly, she flew over to join the throng of Chasers, quickly selecting Bradley Jameson as the Gryffindor she'd block from causing trouble as Ephraim got ready to pass. A case of a swollen ego if ever there was one, that Gryffindor.

A tremendous roar erupted from the Gryffindors as Raina's throw hit home, soaring through the hoops past Ephraim's arms. Bradley punched the air in victory, shouting encouragements to his younger teammate as well as the others. "C'mon team!" he yelled, readying for Ephraim's pass. Already he could see Rhoswen was planning on intercepting; he just had to lie low and watch August Reid carefully; he had no doubt he would be Ephraim's choice to pass to.
((I don't think you can block players receiving passes, which is a little annoying, so Bradley ain't doing anything of importance.))

Well, that just showed that you shouldn't ever underestimate your friends. Matt was playing a really smart game in that hugely energetic style of play that he possessed, and somehow he'd managed to get both of the Bludgers heading at Lenora, just as soon as Zoey had put the seventh year into the game. Melody shook her head in wonder, grinning a little. She was pleased for her friend that he was playing so well, but at the same time it was a bit irritating because she was on the opposing team, and actually, she was just a tiny bit competitive. The Bludgers shouldn't be heading at her team! She manoeuvred towards the Bludger that Zoey wasn't already dealing with and lined up her bat to redirect it towards the Ravenclaw Seeker.

Wow. Well that really was annoying. Lenora dodged the Bludger that Melody had failed to defend her from, but Melody didn't relax. She hadn't had a Bludger go past her in quite some time, and she wasn't entirely sure how it had happened. Matt was providing some serious competition. She narrowed her eyes as she chased after the Bludger she'd just missed. Taking inspiration from Zoey's attack on the Ravenclaw captain, she sent the other one in August's direction as well. You couldn't fault their team work...

Bradley side-stepped - or flew - past Anna Monkshood, racing towards August as he watched the Quaffle fall into his arms. Rhoswen had failed to intercept, but Bradley was ready to back her up by stealing the Quaffle. "Rhoswen!" he yelled at his teammate, oblivious to the Beaters who were aiming for the same target too. "Block Reid! Now!" He gestured at the Ravenclaw Captain as he closed in on him, closer to the red ball, closer to regaining the Quaffle.
Mine.

His wild energy had paid off. Both bludgers, spinning with speed, were flying straight towards the Gryffindor seeker. One was deflected by Zoey, hurtling off in the opposite direction in fast pursuit of August, now in secure possession of the quaffle. His second bludger got past Melody, got dodged by the seeker and was soon rebounded by Melody. A large grin reached across Matt's face. Melody sure was good, very good infact. He could only hope that with a lot of energy and a bit of good thinking he could beat her. Making a sharp turn in the other direction, he spun his broom around, shooting towards August and letting out another loud roar of warning as he again arced around him, spinning around so that his bat made contact with the bludger.

Danny wasn't too please with how he had been playing at the moment, despite trying his best in the beginning he hadn't been doing so well so he couldn't blame Zoey when she replaced him for another seeker. While in the pitch Danny just sat on his broom while he kept looking for the snitch but couldn't get a good view of much from where he was. He was kind of surprised once Zoey called him back in but he was sure glad she did and while he flew back into the game he began searching for the Snitch. Danny felt guilty for not doing such a good job before and promised to himself that he was going to make it up to the team and all the other Gryffindors the best he could. Danny just kept flying up above the rest of the players and began his search while both keeping an eye out for the other seeker and any Bludgers.

How quickly things changed in this game! One moment Gryffindor had the Quaffle then all of a sudden, August was in possession of the Quaffle. Of course, this made him a big floating target for the other Beaters. Didn't they have a Seeker to pick on or something? Both Bludgers were headed toward the Ravenclaw captain so picking one Celes did the only thing she could.

August tried his best to hide his disappointment from Ephraim at the recent Gryffindor score as the Ravenclaw Keeper passed the Quaffle to his captain. He flashed E what he hoped looked like an encouraging smile as he easily caught the Quaffle. He smoothly turned in place and told his broom to head to the Gryffindor goal. Hopefully the dumb Lions were still celebrating their goal and would not notice that the score was about to be even once again. Of course, reality always ruins dreams. Soon there was not one but two Bludgers headed straight at him. Wonderful.
