Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw!

The Quaffle was safely in August's hands and Anna followed him down the pitch towards the Gryffindor goals, hoping that he could score for their team and so equalise the score. But Jameson had zoomed past her and was heading for her captain with clear intent to challenge him for the Quaffle. She urged an extra burst of speed out of her Cleansweep... her old broom couldn't keep up the speed for long, but it was good enough to get her level with the Gryffindor. Now she just had to get in his way for long enough that August would have a clear path to the goals. Anna took a deep breath and swooped round in front of Jameson, heading at him on a clear collision course, trying to force him to swerve away from her, and away from August as well.

Zoey saw no Bludgers she needed to take care of... There was one heading in Lenora's direction, but Melody was taking care of that... The Bludger looked strong in flight and she looked over to Matthew, smiling a little at how great he was doing as his new place as Vice. Turning her head, confident that Melody had taken care of the Bludger, her eyes almost blew out of her head, seeing that she had failed. "Lenora!" she gasped under her breath, hoping she'd dodge and...YES! She dodged it...

Williard continued flying around, searching almost frantically, yet, he still remained calm enough not to lose his head. He needed to find the Snitch, and as quickly as he possibly could at that. He flew around all the action surrounding the Quaffle and tried his best to avoid the Bludgers that were fiercely zooming past him.

Harriet was happy with how the game was progressing so far. It hadn't been going on for long, but Gryffindor had already scored which was an excellent start, although that meant that the Ravenclaws were back in possession of the quaffle. August, who she recognised as a really experienced player in her year, now the team captain given Celia had gaduated last summer, was flying towards her which was slightly intimidating given it was the first time Harriet had played for Gryffindor and she didn't want to let the team and her house down. She kept a close eye on August, while trying to avoid any bludgers that might be heading her way.

[Melody Bang-Bala G6]

Melody heard the groans of sympathy from the crowd at the Bludger hit and the commotion amongst the Chasers as the Quaffle flew loose, and was glad that she hadn't been watching at the time. Otherwise she wouldn't have had the strength of mind to press ahead with what she knew was tactically the best thing to do right now - to ruthlessly continue to target the Ravenclaw captain now that the first Bludger had softened him up a bit. It wasn't just about making it hard for him to think about organising his own team tactically - so far in the game he'd been the fastest of the Ravenclaw Chasers, making him a sure target when Gryffindor had a 10 point lead. She chased after the Bludger which had now lost interest in its target, and sent it right back where it had come from, attracting a few boos from the crowd, even from some Gryffindors. Sure it was a tactical move but it wasn't nice, and Melody was unpopular and so anything she did was going to be unpopular with the crowd. She shifted uncomfortably, looking over to Matt for reassurance, even though he might be a bit busy right now, thanks to her...

August was so close! He was right up by the Gryffindor keeper when the bludger got him! That looked like it really hurt... Adriahna watched for half a moment as the red ball fell slowly to the ground but knew there wasn't much time to spare. Madam Hooch would make sure August was okay best take advantage of everyone else looking after him to grab the quaffle and finish the job he started. Fast as she could Adriahna pushed her broom into a dive toward the grass, pulling out clean just in front of the quaffle and reached out to grab it...

Before either Bradley or Rhoswen could make a move, a smartly dealt Bludger had knocked August off balance. In seconds, the Quaffle was spinning out of his hands, free-falling through the air. Once again, Bradley didn't make a move; his forte was strength, not speed - there were two very capable fourth-year girls who would take care of catching that thing. Instead, Bradley focused his attention on the closest Ravenclaw Chaser about to give chase: Adriahna Dynes. He zipped towards her, shoving himself in her way so as to block her attempt to get the Quaffle.

[Matthew Dorm R3]

A satisfying snap echoed throughout Matts head, a wide grin smearing his face as he deflected Melodys bludger and sent it straight towards Danny. His adrenaline, mixed with the thrill of the competition, made him appreciate the feelings the seeker might be feeling as he looked up to see yet another bludger heading his way. Matthew shook his hair out of his eyes, snapping his head to the side as he caught a glimpse of a bludger heading straight for their captain. August was fast and skillful, and just as was expected, bludgers seemed to be getting put towards him constantly by the opposing beaters. They obviously felt that eliminating him would cause for a definite relapse in their Ravenclaws performance, and because of this seen him as more important than their seeker. Williard, whom was quite content in searching for the snitch with no interference, was standing a greater chance of locating his target at any moment. He turned, setting off in the direction of the fallen quaffle. A mass of chasers were making their way there for an undoubtedly brutal battle to regain possession for their team. Narrowly dodging Melody as he had to drop below her so as to avoid a collision, he let out an apologetic roar, before he rose to the same level as the bludger, spinning around and preparing for his bat to make contact.

Woodrow walked steadily too the pitch. He wouldn't be starting today, as he had been injured in DADA the day before, when his partner had mispronounced the spell and he had ended up unconscious. It was a good day for quidditch though, with the sun shining, it put everyone in a very good mood.

Reaching the pitch, Woodrow quickly got dressed and listened through August's pre-game speech. After it was over, he walked out, broomstick on shoulder, and took his place on the sidelines.

Zoey watched a little closer than she should have when she sent the beautifully aimed Bludger toward August. SHe had one of those feelings that it would be a hit, or really close and put Ravenclaw on their toes. Either way, it was almost guarunteed in her mind that that Bludger was going to hit. AND IT DID! Zoey smile a little, shaking her fist in the air as if they won at the hit. It even caused him to drop the Quaffle. She smiled, hoping that the good she did would help the Chasers into recovering the Quaffle and scoring again. Realizing she had been hovering instead of doing her job, she gasped and snapped her head, seeing that she was needed once again. "DANNY! What it!" she called, gritting her teeth and gripping her bat on her way to save her friend and Seeker.

After her earlier goal, Raina lived a little bit like she was on cloud nine. The game was progressing well, and she had been proud of her little team. With a skilled eye, she saw that the quaffle has been lost by the opposing. The ball fell through the sky quickly.

Suddenly Jameson was the least of Ravenclaw's worries as their captain got hit by a well-aimed, powerful Bludger. The Gryffindor Vice had already built up a fearsome reputation as a Beater, and for good reason. In fact, there was no doubt that the Gryffindors had the upper hand in experience and skill in terms of their Beaters, although the younger Ravenclaw Beater, whoever he was, seemed to be doing a very good job. She wasn't quite so sure about her fellow fifth year's ability, from what she'd seen so far...

Anyhow, her job was as a Chaser - after so many years as a spectator it was difficult to remember that she needed to keep her head in the game and couldn't afford the luxury of forming judgements about the people on the teams. With the Quaffle falling freely through the air, a savage chase had ensued. Anna didn't want to be left behind! Letting gravity assist her, she hurtled recklessly after Raina Miles, going far too fast to be able to chase after the Quaffle, but on a course close enough to Raina that she hoped to get in the way and - employing the same tactics as before, but at a faster speed - force the Gryffindor to slow down to avoid a collision.

Yes! She caught it right out from under the nose of some Gryffindor chaser. That was precision, especially as she had some other Gryffindor right on her tail, and he didn't seem to be going anywhere. He wasn't trying to get the quaffle away, steal it, intercept it, anything! He was just there on her like a fruit fly when you're eating lunch. Casting him an arrogant annoyed glare Adriahna called "Left hoop!" and shot the quaffle towards Woodrow; hopefully causing the Gryffindors to think she was trying to score and letting the red ball fly true to her teammate.

Bradley swore colourfully as he watched Adriahna snatch the Quaffle out of Raina's reach. He immediately propelled his broomstick towards the fifth-year girl, flying alongside her and then swerving in front. Behind, he could see Raina and Rhoswen coming to back him up. "Raina!" he yelled with a gesture at Adriahna, "steal!" He knew she would know what he meant; it was a straightforward shout. Hopefully the Gryffindor Beaters would clue on and send a Bludger Adriahna's way; they needed a repeat of the luck they'd had with August before. Bradley then realised that Adriahna was passing to Woodrow, and tried to catch Rhoswen's eye, hoping she would understand him telling her to intercept the pass.

“Still nothing.” Danny muttered as he flew above the game and watched the others play. They were all playing very hard and to Danny it seemed he hadn't been doing much besides watching the game. Danny loved his role on the team but watching the others made him wish there was something else a Seeker could do while looking for the Snitch. The thought passed as he went back to looking for the Snitch, which he didn't find but what he did find was a Bludger coming right at him. He was all prepared to dodge when he saw Zoey getting ready to hit it away and he just smiled. Knowing Zoey she would just knock it away before it got anywhere close to Danny and he was right. He went back to looking for the Snitch right has he saw the Bludger flying off towards a Ravenclaw player.

Woodrow was immensely relieved when he saw the signal for his entrance to the game. His face radiated at the thought of flight, and indeed the familiar glee filled him as he kicked off. He flashed Anna a grin of confidence as he passed her and zoomed up into the sky.

Flying into the thick of the things, he saw Adriahna grab the quaffle and start making her way down the pitch. He caught a glimpse of his Gryffindor friend, Zoey Shay off in the fray, she was trully a terror with her bat, she had made August drop the quaffle just moments ago, no wonder she was a vice captain. He saw Adriahna, and then heard her yell out left hoop. He knew this ploy, it was a tactic to confuse the opposing team into thinking she was shooting when in fact she was passing, and to him no less.

Matthew didn't have much time to concentrate on what happened. A bludger had collided with August, and another one was in fast pursuit of Williard. He took a quick glimpse at August, noticing how he looked a good shade off colour. Another substitution would have to be made, he thought bitterly as he raced towards the free bludger that had recently hit their captain. Bearing down on the quaffle, he took a large swing at it, releasing all his pent up fury in a large yell as he aimed it for the Gryffindor chaser now carrying the quaffle. Before he swung, he noticed a fierce bludger flying towards Williard by Zoey. Thinking quickly, he roared for him to dodge it.
