Josephine didn't need to hear Mary shouting at her, warning her. She'd already caught the Gryffindor seeker out of the corner of her eye. Jo wasn't sure if she'd even seen the snitch, but bolting like that was nothing to ignore as she kicked forward. It was the first time she'd felt the quick movements of the broom...the anticipation growing in her. She couldn't let the Gryffindors win this match...she just couldn't. She had to do something. She had to catch the snitch. It was why Josephine came up on the side of the girl her body jerking over to hit the seeker, trying to battle it out for the snitch. She'd rather have the snitch get lost again than have the Gryffindors win. So she hit at the seeker again as she pulled a hand from the broom hoping to get close enough to the snitch to catch it first.

That moving glint looked... quite solid for a glint... it looked very much like a Snitch. It was the Snitch! Melody's eyes widened in surprise, shock, excitement... alarm, panic that now she had to actually catch it. It was moving fast, far faster than Bludgers she'd managed to catch up with had ever moved. Melody accelerated wildly towards the Snitch, urging as much as she could out of her broom, her heart pounding in her chest. Josephine would notice and come after her, but even a few seconds headstart would give her an advantage; they were about the same distance away from the Snitch.
Melody cried out in indignation as Josephine hit her, and the next time the girl swerved towards her, she swiftly swung her arm out in the same way as she would sweep at a Bludger, not considering how Madam Hooch might see it because she did it in self-defense. She was used to her arm getting jarred when it made contact with something heavy coming towards it at speed; Josephine probably wasn't used to meeting any resistance when she decided to turn her body into a battering ram, and it would no doubt hurt a good bit since she'd barrelled straight into the oncoming arm. Melody hoped that it would deter the Slytherin Seeker from trying it again, and tried to inch ahead of her by increasing her speed still further. She was slightly closer to the Snitch at the moment due to her headstart... she musn't let Josephine overtake her.
((Making Josephine feel the error of her ways and most of all... trying to catch t'Snitch!!!))

Ahh. Made sense, really. Oscar decided to launch a Bludger at someone other than the snake seeker, and suddenly the snitch is seen, and Gryffindor only want their Bludgers aimed at the seeker on the other team. Well, thankfully Mary decided to chuck one Oscar's way. His arm was still recovering from the attack on Julian so he cast a quick look around, searching for Rex. Where was that kid? It irritated him to take care of the Bludgers constantly. That didn't stop him speeding his broom up until he was riding almost alongside the two battling seekers- in a perfect place to defend Melody from Mary's Bludger. Once there he stopped dead in his tracks and pulled his Nimbus back. Had the broom been a horse it would have reared on it's hind legs at the sudden tug. But it was not a horse, not even a donkey- it was in fact a very wooden, very magical 'stick with hair', and responded perfectly to Oscar's fingers on it's handle. "Looks like I just can't keep away from you." He grinned at Josephine as she spun past.

((It is assumed Julian would attempt to avoid Oscar's Bludger. However, since Julian did not post, he cannot have his stat points. Oscar = Bludger (D6 + Str) = 3 + 6 = 9 Julian = Avoid (D8 + Dex) = 4 + 0 = 4 Oscar's Bludger hits Julian.
Julian must concentrate to hold onto the Quaffle. Oscar = Bludger (D6 + Str) = 3 + 6 = 9 Julian = Con (D4 + Con) = 4 + 0 = 4 Julian cannot concentrate and drops the Quaffle.
The Quaffle is free.
Mary hits a Bludger at Melody. Oscar attempts to defend her. Mary = Bludger (D6 + Str) = 4 + 6 = 10 Oscar = Defend (D8 + Str) = 4 + 6 = 10
Tie! Re-roll.
Mary = Bludger (D6 + Str) = 5 + 6 = 11 Oscar = Defend (D8 + Str) = 6 + 6 = 12 Oscar defends Melody from Mary's Bludger and deflects it to Josephine.
There is a Bludger flying at Josephine.
Josephine and Melody attempt to catch the Snitch. Josephine = Catch (D10 + Dex) = 3 + 4 = 7 Melody = Catch (D10 + Dex) = 6 + 6 = 12 Snitch = Escape (D10 + D4) = 1 + 2 = 3 Melody catches the Snitch.
Gryffindor 180 Slytherin 20
Gryffindor win!

His grin subsided as the Bludger jarred into his bat with a force he had not expected. With a grimace he mentally scolded himself- he'd been doing well in beater for a while. But that didn't mean Mary's strength had decreased; her attack was stronger than ever. Thankfully he managed to send the Bludger Josephine's way. As that purple beast followed the seeker, Oscar tracked the pitch for the first Bludger just in case one of the Slytherin beaters had decided to send it back. But no- it had hit it's target successfully, slamming into Fallon with a force that made the ball between the Slytherin's fingers slip. Oscar watched it with his eyes, waiting for it to be captured by one of the Gryffindor chasers and for the game to resume it's quick-paced movement.
But... a sudden breath of silence, a moment, a single action. Oscar had been watching the Bludger and not the seekers. With wide eyes he turned around to face Melody, holding his breath. As he turned an almighty roar erupted from the stands, immersing every player on the pitch in a blanket of raw sound. And Melody was holding the snitch! Immediately upon seeing the fluttering golden ball, Oscar's heart rose and his grin returned. His bellow of joy- not coherent words but solely loud noise- was soon followed by movement as he urged his Nimbus towards the small seeker. "Brilliant! Just brilliant!" Being the nearest to Melody, he didn't waste time- he let his feelings show as he enveloped her in a bear-hug, his broom obediently hovering beside hers, making sure neither fell. The roar of the crowd was still in his ears and even hours later it would come back to him, drumming away as a reminder of the game.
