Cassandra easily saved the quaffle from Wynd's attempt to score. Now she surveyed her team from the goal posts. Making a quick choice, she decided to throw the quaffle to Scott.

Julian had hoped that Wynd would be able to score. Better him to score against Cassandra if it happened than for Julian to do it again. Julian knew that he would already be in more trouble than the game was worth but he wasn't going to give up just yet. He spun around to move toward the goal posts hoping to intercept the pass that his wife and at this time, his rival was about to make. He also spotted a bludger heading toward him as he spun around. Dang, had Cassandra ordered this attack on him? At least one of the beaters from the other team was attacking someone other than Jo. She needed a break from at least one of the bludgers. He swerved and swirled, still keeping on his course to intercept the quaffle as he dodged the bludger. As he got close to the goal posts, he yelled a small message at Cassandra, "Sorry Darling, I just couldn't stop myself."

The Bludger got through- and continued speeding, quick on the trail of Melody's broom. Oscar watched as it struck his seeker in the shin hard. He heard her chorus of 'ow's that followed and scowled at his failed attempt to protect her. Oscar hesitated for a moment, tempted to mouth an apology and check if she was okay. But he disregarded this- she wouldn't be in the game if she couldn't take care of herself in that way. So Oscar gave her a fleeting smile before heading off- his neck still throbbing, thought he attempted to ignore it. The sound that followed his movement was from Rex, bringing about an even further glower from the elder beater. "All I'm worrying about is where the heck you've been all this time Rex!" He bellowed across the pitch. Beaters had to work together, and it was true- he hadn't seen Rex since Riley scored last. He was a beater, a defender- and an attacker.
With this thought in mind he seized his bat and swung it just before the second Bludger came close to him. There was already one Bludger aimed at Julian and Oscar didn't want to send another his way with so many other possible targets, no matter how much he wanted to. With a grimace he hit the Bludger, the sound escaping his lips not unlike those that tennis-players might make on the courts in the muggle world.

"Cass!" Scott hollered again at his Captain, waving his arms to attract her attention as she scanned the skies for any available Chasers. "I'm open!" She spotted him and made a move to pass it to him. However, Julian was flying forwards to intercept. Scott was determined that he wouldn't get the Quaffle, even if he was Cass' husband (there didn't seem to be much good feeling between them anyway). Scott darted to the left in the hope of Cass making the Quaffle swerve across Julian's grasp and into Scott's. Luckily it did just that, and the red ball landed in Scott's awaiting arms. He barely paused for breath or celebration; immediately he was flying at top speed down to the other end of the pitch, where Pyro was hovering still. Scott dodged a couple of Beaters along the way, working their bats overtime, and successfully steered clear of the Slytherin Chasers. He approached the goals at last in a matter of minutes, and before he attempted to score, he used his free hand to brush away his windswept hair out of his eyes. Then, he readied himself - not just for scoring, but he could already detect the approaching presences of the Slytherin Chasers' attack. Would he bring Gryffindor up to thirty-twenty?

Kailyn grit her teeth together and narrowed her eyes at Fallon. Pathetic. Maybe he really was going easy on his wife. Growling under her breath, she began to chase Scott Ryder down the pitch, but she just wasn't fast enough - he was always an arm's length away. Why wasn't she fast enough? Well, the wind in her face didn't help; too much air resistance, that was one reason. Urging her broom to go faster, Kailyn finally reached Scott, but he was already at the goals, getting ready to shoot. "Oh no you don't," she vowed loudly, racing forwards to knock the Quaffle from that silly Gryffindor's grasp.

Pyro both blew a sigh of relief and growled in annoyance when Wynd managed to steal the quaffle away before a score attempt was mae. Pyro was reliefed because he had no idea how well he would be at the keeper position, but also he was mad at the complete boredom that set in as the game moved toward the other side of the pitch. This was one of the reasons why Pyro played Chaser anyone, there was rarely ever any glory in the Keeper position, it was all the chasers that got the publicity during the game. After a few more minutes though the game made its way back toward the Slytherin side once again and Pyro had to refocuse. He saw another Gryffindor chaser make his way toward the goals and once again, Pyro prepared for it. Also keeping a wary out for any last minute bludger attacks.

Still no snitch...This was getting ridiculous. How much longer could this game go on without even a glimpse of the snitch? Josephine ran a hand over her face as she flipped around the pitch, her eyes falling on the Gryffindor beater who once again hit a bludger at her. She rolled her eyes. How much longer was he going to be pelting her with bludgers. "Bloody ignorant mudblood," Josephine muttered to herself as she tried to dodge out of the path of the bludger her eyes still looking for the snitch.

Melody saw that there was a Bludger headed Josephine's way again, and she hoped that she herself would be able to find the Snitch while Josephine was a little distracted. The Slytherin surely couldn't keep an eye on the sky, the Bludger and Melody at the same time. So Melody had an advantage this round - she was only keeping an eye on the sky and on Josephine at the moment. Yes - she had stooped to such tactics. She hadn't yet managed to find the Snitch on her own, so if Josephine was the first to see it, she needed to know about it pretty quickly. There was just a slight possibility that her small size might allow her the advantage of speed that she would need in such a situation. And besides, once you'd looked at the sky for long enough, you began to realise that it was boringly homogenous.

Pyro's hands steadied on the broom as he eyed the approaching Chaser. Pyro read everything correctly, correctly judged where the Chaser was going to shot and when. Pyro launched himself and stretched out his arm to snatch the attempted score out of the air. Pyro growled in frustration as he felt the Quaffle barely brush by his finger tips and soar past. So close! He had been merely a split second behind the shot. Grinding his teeth pyro quickly flew and retrieved the Quaffle and took his post in front of the hoops again. Pyro scanned the field, looking for an open Chaser of his. "Yo! Julian!" He called and tossed the Quaffle at the boy.

He had managed to hurl the Quaffle toward the Slytherin goal without Kailyn interfering. This was enough to make Scott happy. However, as he watched Pyro attempt to block his shot, Scott was even happier to see the Quaffle narrowly soar past Pyro's fingertips and through the far right hoop. He'd scored again and gave Gryffindor the lead! He silently celebrated to himself for a second, but then a second later watched Pyro closely as he came forward with the Quaffle.
He hesitated for a moment after Pryo called for Julian. It was a trick, right? Yes. No. Yes? Scott doubted for a second whether Pyro was passing to Julian, but in an instant decided that he was. Scott flashed forward and attempted to come in between Pyro's pass and Julian's reception. Another steal and perhaps another ten points would surely do a bit of damage to Slytherin's morale. And, with the way that the Seekers were having no luck, he figured that it just might be enough to keep Josephine out of the game mentally. Either that, or it'd give Melody a boost of motivation to find the Snitch herself. Then again, Scott knew how much focus you had to have to be a Seeker. Perhaps Melody and Josephine weren't affected by who was winning at the time, especially since the scores were still so low and rather close.

Melody saw Josephine get hit by a Bludger and felt a little sorry for her - she'd experienced pain herself this game. Then again, some of that pain had been caused directly by Josephine. So she didn't feel too sorry for her. Yes, it hurt when big heavy things whacked into you, be they Bludgers or girls a year older than yourself (Melody being the same age as most fourth years since she'd had to repeat a year). She wasn't hugely sympathetic, actually. It was good for her and good for Gryffindor... might slow Josephine down in finding the Snitch and give Melody more of a chance. Given her failure so far, it seemed that just scanning the skies might not be sufficient. She racked her brains for other ways to go about the task as she continued with her old method.

"What the bloody hell?" Jo cursed as the bludger careened into her yet again. "Where the bloody hell are my beaters!?" the scream of anger was directed at Dylan and Mary who seemed to be preoccupied with fixing their bloody robes or something because neither one of them took the time to try to defend that last time. How the heck was Slytherin going to win this game if they weren't working as a team. Josephine was getting more and more frustrated by her teammates than anything and now that a third bludger had just hit her she was on the verge of getting herself thrown out of the game and since her teammates didn't seem to care she decided to flip down.
Barreling toward Dylan she snatched away his bat. "You know how to use this or not?" she growled out as she swung it back and forth in the air. "Protect me or next time I'll use your head for the bludger." She handed it back to him, still muttering under her breath as she bolted back up and circled the pitch a few times to release her anger as she looked for the snitch.

Again, once more the bloody Gryffindors scored and hit her seeker to boot. Mary scowled as she looked around the pitch. Bloody Logton, probably having a heart attack with two of “her boys” on the field and still playing a decent game. This was ridiculous! “Get in the game!” she muttered to no one in particular, possibly herself though she would never admit it. Hopefully Josephine would catch the snitch soon, Mary was getting quite tired of playing the run around when her team wasn’t even winning. Flying past Josephine Mary launched herself at the bludger that had gotten her seeker, and with all her strength hit it towards Melody.

Finally-something got through to the seeker. Oscar grinned, almost surprising himself- he was, in a sense, grinning because he had almost harmed someone. He shook off the thought and replaced them with just one- Gryffindor were in the lead. "Nice, Scott!" Oscar couldn't help bellowing across the pitch at the chaser. He was ignoring any hostile thoughts to the other Gryffindor now; the boy was playing well. Oscar was pleased. As long as Gryffindor stayed in the lead, he would be happy.
Perhaps then it was time for a break- a change of target? Oscar headed to Melody as he saw Mary approaching the Bludger that had just attacked her seeker so heavily, ready to defend. "You're going to miss me, Bowman." He laughed lightly at the Slytherin seeker as he swung his bat backwards for what felt like the millionth time- and aimed at a new target.

Riley needed to keep her focus. Thankfully, Gryffindor had managed to score another goal, putting them in the lead once more. Riley glanced around the field, realizing that she was somewhat distanced from the game and everything that was going on around her. She leaned forward, accelerating on her broom to try and get closer to the action. She wiped a bead of sweat off her face as she passed the Slytherin side of the Pitch. She ignored the "Boo's" and the negative comments from that side of the pitch and tried to focus herself. One of the Slytherin chasers had the Quaffle, the chaser that Riley heard was her Captain's husband. She figured it must be a bit hard for Cassandra to stay focused on the game when her husband was right there on the opposing team. Then there was probably the Slytherin's issue with not wanting to hurt his wife or something. But Riley didn't worry herself with her captain's issue for long. She advanced on the chaser, trying to steal the large red ball from the older Slytherin's arms.

Oh no! Mary’s bludger started on target but got waylaid by the beater from Gryffindor. Not that that was the end of the world except for the fact that Melody’s attention seemed to be caught on something that may or may not be the snitch. Mary hoped to goodness it wasn’t, but you never know. “Josephine!” Mary called, sure in the knowledge that her seeker would be paying attention too but you could never be too careful. Finding a bludger nearby Mary hurled it at the seeker, hoping to knock the kid off her broom before letting her at the snitch.

Cass was biting her lip nervously as she watched the action. It was getting out of control. Why was Julian putting himself in the predicament he was in? Couldn't he just sit on the sidelines? Even though she had been euphoric on their third goal of the game, it quickly wore off as she saw that Julian had the quaffle again. She just couldn't take this anymore! Her poor, rattled nerves were having more and more stress put on them. She wondered if her stress showed. Still, this was Quidditch! She couldn't feel sorry the bloody Slytherins! They had been playing dirty for the entire game. Then Hooch! How could she only let them off with a warning for hurting poor little Melody? She was still angry about it, but at least the referee didn't let it go unnoticed.
Speaking of Melody, Cass took a quick glance at her seeker. She gasped. She saw her lithe body flying after a little shining glint. It didn't take Cass long to realize that Melody was going after the snitch. She screamed triumphantly, but quickly stifled it. She couldn't let the other team know. A large grin formed across her face. Cass would get to tell everyone that her team had gone undefeated to Slytherin during her time as Captain.
She was suddenly not so worried about protecting the goals anymore. With Julian in possession though, she knew it would only be a matter of time before he tried to score again. Cass would rather beat Slytherin by one hundred and sixty points than one hundred and fifty. She prepared herself for what was coming.
