He kept looking at Payton who was across the Snitch from him. It made him rather anxious that they were both on opposite ends of the pitch, for it meant that should Payton see the Snitch on his side Hufflepuff was probably dead meat. But he had to continue his method of searching, for the Snitch's behaviour was random and unpredictable so there was no right or wrong when it came to what he should do. He decided to fly lower, hoping it might raise his chances of seeing the Snitch. There was a lot of action going on above him, but he was focusing so hard it was fading more and more into the background.

Payton felt a bludger finally crush into his ribs as he was flying around looking for the snitch, as this happened he choked back a scream and he held a tear in his eye, if the Hufflepuffs saw him as weak, he would never live it down, and he knew somewhere out in the stands amoung the Slytherin crowd, Delilah was in tears herself. but he just held his hand over his ribs for a moment and then continued searching for he snitch

"Lehane!" Wynd looked to see Drake calling his name before passing the Quaffle to him. The Hufflepuffs tried to intercept it, but they were not fast enough. Harmony gave him a very ugly look but it didn't matter. Wynd was sure that most of the Hufflepuffs disapproved of him 'gently' expressing his feelings to Alexander. Why was it that they disapproved? A Hufflepuff would not show their true feelings. They would be pushed around all the while taking it. That's why they were in Hufflepuff and not in Slytherin. Ever since his little 'outburst,' the Beaters had left him alone so it must have worked on some level. Wynd caught the Quaffle with ease and flew off toward the Slytherin goal. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Payton searching for the Snitch. If Payton caught the Snitch then it would not matter that Hufflepuff had scored twice. But a score from Slytherin wouldn't hurt either. Harmony was on his tail and he would have like to score himself but the rules didn't allow it. Eyeing Pyro, Wynd tossed the Quaffle with all his might to him teammate.

She had been successful! Ivy didn't think that her shot had been completely great, other than evidently being accurate since it did go through the hoop. The success had instead been due to the well-timed Bludger that had hit Drake and prevented him from defending against her shot. Ivy hadn't noticed which Beater had hit it, but whoever it had come from had done an excellent job. She moved away from the goals a little, leaving it to Harmony to intercept Drake's pass as the younger girl was quite clearly intending to do that. She almost managed it, too, but Wynd Lehane got the Quaffle in the end. Again, something that the Hufflepuff Chasers would have to do something about. Ivy decided to use the skill that she was best at (stealing the Quaffle) once again and approached Wynd from the side, trying to swipe the Quaffle from his arms.

((Ivy attempts to steal the Quaffle from Wynd. Wynd attempts to defend. Ivy = Steal (D4 + Str) = 4 + 6 = 10 Wynd = Defend (D8 + Str) = 1 + 5 = 6 Ivy steals the Quaffle from Wynd. Ivy has the Quaffle.
Payton and Charles search for the Snitch.
Charles = Search (D6 + Con) = 5 + 4 = 9 Charles' search roll is above 5, so he is able to search.
Charles = Search = 14 14 is not the Snitch number. Charles does not see the Snitch.
Since Payton has a Con of 5, concentration does not need to be rolled, therefore he is able to search.
Payton = Search = 11 11 is the Snitch number. Payton sees the Snitch.))

Two down, two to go. Or three or four. Whatever. Hufflepuff could use as many goals as they could get that was for sure. And so far the chasers were doing a great job. But Randy knew she had to step up. She didn’t want the Slytherins to have a chance at a goal and she would try her best to distract them. But she couldn’t talk them out of it like usual. Nope, she had to show them through the game. Yep, Randy was usually successful at getting what she wanted or needed but this was a game and she had to prove herself. Randy could hear the cheers of the crowd die down after Hufflepuff scored, but she couldn’t watch and see what was going on. She had to keep going. Randy sped up to a bludger and eyed the Slytherin players that she could aim for. She spotted the Seeker who looked as if he was on to the snitch. Randy shook her head. “Oh no you don’t.”

The Quaffle was hers again! And the Seekers had started accelerating, which meant that the Hufflepuff Chasers were really running out of time to equalise with Ravenclaw for joint third place in the Quidditch Cup. More determined than ever, Ivy kept the Quaffle protected close to her chest as she threatened Drake's goals again. She wanted to score this last goal. She used a feint, trying to appear as though she were going to shoot at the right hoop, but intending to change direction at the very last minute so that she sent the Quaffle towards the left hoop. She hoped that it would be enough. It had to be enough, it was their insurance for if Charlie didn't catch the Quaffle, because it was never acceptable to rest all of a team's hopes on just one player.
There was time for a last minute change of players, as well. Ivy didn't feel that Chace had been particularly pulling his weight in either position this match, although he'd done okay as a Beater. But she would be happier to have her best friend in his place. She could rely on Ash to keep Charlie safe at this crucial point in the game. She flew up to Madam Hooch and indicated that she wished to switch the two players around.

Ashley sat on the bench next to Bryce, staring up into the sky as the game continued on. It was good to take a break from the action for a while. Ivy knew that. Hufflepuff was doing so well so far. They even scored two points! Hearing Ivy voice, Ashley stood up from the bench, mounting her broom. Payton had already spotted the snitch, and Randy was hitting a bludger his way. Ashley would help her. Spotting a bludger nearby, Ashley quickly went for it, smacking it hard with her bat toward the boy. All they had to do now was watch and wait.

Pyro zoomed away down the field as he saw that the Keeper chose to pass to Wynd. Pyro weaved in and out among the aother player as he moved quickly down the field still keeping his eyes open for any plays that might be sent toward him. It was than that Pyro noticed Wynd was about to pass to him and Pyro quickly moved into position. Pyro cursed as he noticed Tunstall move in and steal the quaffle out of Wynd's hands before he could pass.
Pyro poured on the speed, knowing that Tunstall was very close to the goals and could easily shoot another goal. He quickly got up level with her and began to grab for the Quaffle.

It didn't take much to anger Drake, and so whenever Wynd ended up losing the Quaffle to Ivy, Drake bit his lip as he avoiding cursing since Madame Hooch was nearby. He needed to concentrate on not allowing another goal anyways, which meant keeping his tongue in cheek and just following Ivy's every move. The last time, she had some help with a Bludger, but this time, Drake wasn't going to even let her get near the goals.
Where were the idiotic Beaters? Why wasn't someone trying to stop Ivy from scoring again? A collective gasp from the crowd caught Drake's attention, and he soon realized that nobody cared much anymore of whether or not Hufflepuff was going to score another goal. This time, everyone seemed to be interested in the Slytherin Seeker, Payton Laslie, as he zoomed toward what must have been the Golden Snitch. Damn child stealing all the attention, Drake thought. At least if he caught the Snitch, it meant a victory for Slytherin and that the game would be over. Drake was getting bored quite fast. He had just been put in as Keeper, and already had had allowed a goal. There was no need for further embarrassment India and Brianna had probably already had their fair share of laughs with his performance so far. Gritting his teeth, Drake readied himself for whatever action would come his way.

Her bat back in her hands Mary tested swinging it around a bit before she noticed Caleb looking a little bit off. It was a really hot day, he likely needed some water, they could all use some water really but Mary wasn’t going to call a time-out for it, who knows how long this game would go so they may need every time out they could get later. Instead Mary went up to Hooch then Caleb and let them know he should go down to the bench and Asteria would come back up for a little while as chaser.
Surveying the pitch Mary noticed Payton flying like a mad man, the snitch not far in front of him. Well, bygones be bygones, this was a matter of team pride. Mary flew over beside him to defend him and not a moment too soon as suddenly there were bludgers on them.

Dylan looked over at Mary, who appeared to be trying to defend Payton from two bludgers that were heading toward him. Well, he was seeker now, and he knew Mary pronbably had a change of heart, considering Payton now had a rather important position. Dylan flew forward, bat at the ready.

Still he could not see it, even though his head was starting to hurt with all the concentration. He'd been flying around and around and up and down and he was going to go completely crazy if he'd didn't find it soon. And then, in a moment of blind panic Charles saw Payton swoop into a dive and begin gathering speed, and he knew without a doubt that the younger boy had seen the Snitch!
He flew like a mad man, building momentum every second, flying towards the middle of the pitch in the same direction Payton was going even before he saw the Snitch. And then he was filled with that same exhilaration he felt when he was rounding in on the kill, the blood coursing through his body filled with adrenaline. Nothing mattered but reaching the Snitch now, and players, Bludgers, and the crowd below him had faded to nothing.

Payton's eye twitched as he floated in mid air, not feeling anything, even the pain from the bludgers as he looked from his hand to the idiot who caught it he looked back and forth, but couldn't make it real he flew over to charles and shouted at the top of his lungs "Buddy, next year your going to rue that day you stole this victory from me and all of Slytherin house!!!" then having said whats what he floated with a thump he hit the ground and walked alone from the pitch shaking in anger
