Round and round and round. She wasn't dizzy yet, but she soon would be if she didn't change direction or avert from this generic course she had undertaken. Immediately, Harmony decided to reverse and go in the opposite direction, passing Drake along the way and subtly avoiding his eye. She didn't need to be psychologically frightened by him, nor did she feel like testing her mettle. Harmony was going to focus on the Snitch, and the Snitch only, until Ivy pulled her out of the role - assuming she would. Harmony thought her Captain would do so, since Charlie was the more experienced Seeker, and Harmony had always been a lot better at Chasing. She hoped she'd get a chance at Chasing today, but she wasn't about to go against her Captain's decisions, or complain. Harmony trusted Ivy's judgement, more than her own especially. Judging from the outlook of the match below, the Chasers had just lost the Quaffle to the Slytherins. No doubt they would get it back, but Harmony longed just a little to join them. Suddenly, she thought she caught a flash of gold in the corner of her eye, but it turned out to merely be someone's camera (or was it something else?) in the audience. Oh well, she thought. Perhaps she would try a feint in a minute, to spice things up a bit and shake Drake's concentration...

Slytherin had the Quaffle. Drake felt just the tiniest twitch of pride, before snuffling it out in irritation. He was too annoyed and frustrated to be happy, and he wouldn't let himself be happy either. No. He couldn't allow for anger, or weakness, or anything to do with Brianna, and especially India; but he also couldn't allow for pleasure or delight, because firstly, they were not emotions associated with Drake, and he wanted to keep it that way (whoever said he wanted to be happy?), and secondly, being 'happy' actually reminded him to be sad, or rather, miserable (because 'sad' was such a... weak word), and that in turn reminded him of India. Sad emotions, frustrating emotions, or of those irritating, exasperating feelings were associated with India. Confusion, too. Lots of confusion. Brianna was better; she was just there and Drake tolerated her presence because she took his mind of India. But she was annoying in a different way, he thought.
Brianna was annoying because she wasn't India.
And that was when Drake saw Harmony dive.

Bryce frowned when Ash's Bludger passed Payton. Darn. At least the kid hadn't managed to get the Quaffle. Still, Wynd had it now, and Bryce had a feeling he was more dangerous than Payton; or maybe that was just appearances. There was something about the Lehane boy - he had a twin, if he was correct, but whom wasn't a prefect like them - that disturbed Bryce, but he couldn't place his finger on it. Anyway, his previous Bludger still hadn't made impact yet; Bryce hoped it would catch Wynd at his most vulnerable, forcing him to drop the Quaffle. If so, he needed to take Payton out, because the kid was kind of unstoppable today too. Caleb, on the other hand, didn't seem to be doing much, Wondering if his fellow seventh year was up to the task today, Bryce didn't muse much as, taking the opportunity of Ash's Bludger coming back round again, he swung his bat and flung it towards the third year Slytherin.

Payton was getting angry, these Hufflepuffs were pushing out bludgers like clockwork. He was impressed by that barrel roll he did to doge the last bludger, but he frowned at the games proceedings. there was a lot of quaffle-work that payton hadn't gotten into yet, and he need some of the Quidditch action, and eventually one of those bludgers was going to at least scrape his shoulder. he smiled thinking that might actualy be possible, but then he saw it, that Alexander kid just hit a bludger at Wynd, he had to warn him "Bludger comin' at ya Wynd!!" He shouted through the roar of the crowd.

The game was underway and Slytherin seemed to be doing pretty good, though they were not in possession at the moment. And the blond girl did manage to avoid the bludger and catch the quaffle… No matter, Slytherin were going to win this thing, they had the skill and they didn’t have much option. The shame of losing to Hufflepuff… Besides they had to make Kennedy proud and they had to reflect well on Mary, it wasn’t a choice. Wynd and Payton both avoided bludgers as Mary watched and Brice took one to send back at Wynd. “Steal the blooming quaffle!” Mary called to her chasers as she got herself into position to protect Wynd.

((My apologies, teams. It turns out, after some staff members helpfully pointed out to me, that I have made some mistakes in the round I just rolled.
First of all, due to the twelve-hour rule (which states that Bludger attacks only count in the round being played if posted in the first twelve hours), Bryce's Bludger was not rolled in that round, and will extend to the next round. Therefore, there is a Bludger flying at Wynd right now from Bryce, and Bryce is now hitting a Bludger at Payton.
Secondly, and more important, I rolled Wynd's interception wrongly. I used a D8 dice roll rather than a D4, which is used in the usual interception circumstances. Therefore, upon re-roll, the result means that Wynd does not intercept Sophia's pass; Sophia succeeds in passing, and Randy has the Quaffle.
Please, therefore, alter your posts accordingly, especially your actions if necessary.
My apologies again for this clumsy mix-up and inconvenience. Being a new Hooch is somewhat daunting, and it is very easy to make mistakes. I will do my best not to repeat them, but even so, keep an eye on the rolls and report anything that you don't agree with. I would be glad of the pointers.
To make up for the three or so hours that have lapsed between now (having changed my mistakes) and the beginning of this round, an extra four hours will be given to this round.
Thanks for your cooperation, Madam Hooch))

Those stupid Hufflepuffs! Wynd must have been hurt from the Bludger more than he was willing to let on because as he reached for the Quaffle to steal it, a sharp pain went through his side. He bent over and missed the Quaffle. Then to make matters worse, Bryce Alexander sent another Bludger toward him. It was like Bryce had a personal vendetta against Wynd. Wynd could never recall actually interacting with Bryce. He was two years older than he and a Hufflepuff. Slytherins and Hufflepuffs did not mingle unless they absolutely had to. Like this Quidditch game. There were two other Chasers on his team, why did Alexander feel like he had to pick on Wynd? Little did he know he was just sealing his own fate. Wynd made another mental note to check the bloodline of the Alexanders.
Holding his side with one hand he took his broom in the other hand and pointed it at Randy. There was another Bludger heading toward him. "Thanks," he yelled at Payton. "I already saw it," he added under his breath. Mary, being the good captain she was going to be, came and defended Wynd from the Bludger so Wynd could concentrate on his target. Wynd couldn't place his finger on it, but lately Mary had been catching his attention. Every time he would see her in the common room, Wynd would follow her with his eyes. But Wynd had to put that out of his mind. There was no room for love in the plan. Valmer had almost torn he and Ruby apart. Wynd didn't want that to happen again. Just then he flew over then bench where Olivia was waiting to be switched into the game. She was an absolute enigma to Wynd. A pretty enigma nevertheless. The game, Wynd reminded himself. He caught up with Randy and made his move.

Yes. Randy caught the quaffle, but there was no time to cheer and laugh. Nope. This was the time to make a goal at the very beginning of the game and prove that Hufflepuff could win. Plus having a goal in the first few minutes was just awesome in general. Randy eyed the Hufflepuff beaters from the corner of her eye. They were doing an excellent job at attacking the Slytherin players. For a moment, Randy missed being beater but she quickly reminded herself that she had to act quickly and got her mind straight back to the game. Randy was a good chaser, but she would rather be hitting something hard and watching the player try and avoid it. A little insane? Okay maybe. But Randy was usually the nice girl. In Quidditch, she didn’t have to be that girl at all. Yes, Randy played clean, but she was competitive and she would always be that way. Randy was just glad that she had received the pass. Sophia was a good chaser so she wasn’t surprised but Randy also knew that the Slytherins didn’t want to loose against ‘stupid little Hufflepuffs’. Randy wasn’t dumb and she wasn’t born yesterday. She knew that was what some students thought of Hufflepuffs. And she was going to prove them wrong.
Randy navigated around players the best that she could. When she noticed that Wynd Lehane was gaining on her. He already tried to steal from Randy, but she retained the quaffle and moved closer to the Slytherin goals. And now he was back trying to get it again. Randy clenched her teeth. She knew that the team needed this goal and that it would make a difference in the game. Like Ivy said, four goals would be good and catching the snitch. Then they would not only win but move up in the Quidditch Standings. Randy shook her head as she approached the goals.

While Ivy tried to keep herself in a good position in case either of the other two Chasers wanted to pass to her, she was also occupied scrutinising her other players. Harmony seemed to be happy in her new position, and Ivy was glad that they'd decided to give her a chance to try it in a real game situation. She hoped that Charlie would be keeping the right mental attitude down on the bench... unfortunately, though, she couldn't guarantee that. Suddenly, she felt an inexplicable longing to join him, which was... very strange really. Usually she was much too concentrated on the game to allow such urges to tempt her. She shrugged it off for a moment and continued to peruse her players, at the same time trying to block Caleb Donnelly (she knew his name because she had been required to do Prefect duties with him a few times) off from her Chasers, because he was really tall and probably had the strength to knock both of them off their brooms. Well, perhaps not Randy. But most likely Sophia.
Speaking of which, since Sophia had chosen to pass to Randy rather than racing for the goals (which were within reach, at a pinch, with a fairly unobstructed path to them), then the fifth year wasn't in the most daring mood today. Ivy knew that Sophia was an excellent Chaser, and she hadn't done anything wrong - she'd already caught the Quaffle for Hufflepuff in the toss-up - but if they were going to make those four goals, they would need a lineup of Chasers who dared. It might be disastrous... but they were already fourth place in the Cup so it was better to dare and possibly face a really humiliating defeat than not to dare and still to face a humiliating defeat... at least she thought it was. Ivy had eager new recruits down on the bench; they might well be better than her! She hadn't been needed much in the match so far, after all. She didn't want to dent Sophia's confidence, though - which had every reason to be high; afterall, thanks to her, Hufflepuff now had a chance to score, so it took her a little while for her to make her decision. In the meantime, she yelled, "Go Randy!" as her blonde-haired dormmate raced towards the goals.
It was time for her to implement the plan that she had made with Ashley before the game... it was time to see if Seth and Chace could make a decent Chaser team when it mattered. She flew up to Madam Hooch and detailed her lineup changes. "Madam Hooch, I'd like to make a few changes in my lineup, please," she prefaced her request. "I'd like to substitute Sophia to Keeper, and substitute Kael out. I'd like to substitute myself out. I'd like to substitute Seth Wright and Chace Coxen in as Chasers, please." She knew that she had surprised quite a few people with the fast and furious succession of substitutions in the last game... but it was unlikely that anyone would have predicted her substituting herself out. She grinned at Ash as she left the pitch and shouted a few words of encouragement to Chace and Seth as they flew up to take their positions. Her best friend was the Vice Captain, but she could very easily have been the Captain... she'd look after Ivy's team just fine.

Asteria Greengrass was slightly nervous about joining the Quidditch team. But, when Mary asked her she couldn't refuse. Practices had gone good, but she was still unsure about how she would perform. This would be her first time ''officially'' playing; she usually played with a few friends every now and again. However, she was somewhat confident in herself, and Slytherin had already won a game, so she was confident they could do it again; especially against Hufflepuff. She seized her long brown hair, and tied it up into a bun while absently listening to Mary's speech until she started addressing single players. She nodded at Mary after she had given Asteria advice, and she scooped up her Nimbus 2001 which was leaning on the bench. She desperately wanted a Firebolt, but seeing as how this was a little short notice, she settled for what she could get.
Heading out to the field, she was nervous and dug her dark green painted fingernails into the side of her pants, but by the time they had all reached center field, and taken their positions, she found it wasn't that bad. The boo's she expected. But the cheering gave her a sense of, power. She looked over at the Slytherin stands and raised an arm. They acknowledged her with a semi-loud roar. She laughed to herself. ''Idiots.''
Once the whistle sounded, Asteria lightly kicked off from the ground and went straight to the hoops. Once there she swerved in front of all three of them determinedly. She watched as Wynd had went for the Quaffle, but was hit by a Bludger. ''Okay,'' she said holding on to her broom tighter. After a while, Randy Kerr was coming at her. ''Oh no you don't sweet heart.''

No! thought Payton as a Hufflepuff chaser was about to chuck the Quaffle at the hoops, he couldn't let Hufflepuff get the first score of the game, it would make Slytherin house a laughing stock if they had lost to Hufflepuff. of course it was the house where all the wash ups and nobodies went, thats why it would be humiliating to lose to them. he thought as he dove to Steal it.

That Hufflepuff beater, Bryce, he was becoming a problem for the Slytherin team. His bludger eluded Mary and got Wynd just as he was about to steal the quaffle! Thankfully Asteria did the team proud and pulled off a save; she was new to the team despite being a seventh year and Mary was glad she was doing well for the team. Too bad there was no way she would be around the next year, especially as rumours abounded that she was friendly with Draco Malfoy who had been a great seeker for the Slytherin team once. ‘Well, the best defence was a good offence’ thought Mary as she hit the bludger that had just got Wynd back at that pesky beater.

Asteria playfully threw the quaffle up and down, catching it continuously while keeping balance on her broom with her other hand. She gave Randy a look. Not exactly threatening or cocky, but not exactly nice and pleasant either. She really wasn't one to gloat; she let her actions speak for her. Scanning around, she looked for her teammates, and spotting Wynd, she went to call his name, but paused. Payton was near also. ''Hmmmm,'' she said looking between the two. She knew now wasn't exactly the time to mull over who would exactly be the best person to pass to, but she couldn't help it. She wasn't that competitive, but she wanted to win. Wynd would clearly be the better choice, seeing as how he has more experience, but Wynd was also hit with a Bludger, twice. Making up her mind though still a little reluctant, she threw the Quaffle.

Payton had been watching the progress of the match more then worrying about catching the Quaffle, so when the keeper tossed it to him, it was unexcpected but he caught it firmly and thought. this was his chace to prove himself to the team that even though he was smaller then most of them he had the potential to do it. he flew about half way down the feild with it then tossed it strongly to the person he was iformed that was a chaser named Wynd Lehane and hoped this was enough to prove himself

Harmony decided she would do a feint. She wasn't exactly practised in the art of feinting, but one had to practise to reach perfection. Wondering if Drake really would fall for the trick, she jerked her broomstick to the left, and immediately began to pelt towards an invisible point, as though the Snitch was right in front of her eyes and she was chasing it. She smiled a little to herself as the wind whistled noisily in her ears, coupled with audible gasps in the audience. Harmony wasn't one to enjoy limelight or attention, but she wasn't daunted anymore by the knowledge that everyone stared at the Seeker whenever he or she made a move; everyone always hoped the Snitch had been sighted. Well, not yet, Harmony thought wryly. Sorry to disappoint, folks. This was just a maneouvre to catch Drake out and to disorientate him for a little while. Glancing behind her, Harmony noted that, indeed, the seventh year was flying on her tail, trying to catch up to her. Harmony grinned in triumph and flung her head back to face forward, concentrating on the trick. She wasn't usually such a daring and mischievous person, so she blamed Rex for the sudden change in her personality. Bangs flying in her face, Harmony spurted forward in another burst of speed, knowing Drake couldn't possibly keep up with her, forcing the Slytherin to also speed up. Finally, she drew herself upwards really quickly, feinting to the right and sliding away from 'the Snitch' and Drake.

Drake streaked after Harmony, who had put on an alarming boost of speed. She flew across the sky like a tiny bolt of lightning, a blur of sunshine yellow. Frowning, Drake urged his broom forward, aware of the huge cheers from the Hufflepuff crowd. The brightness of the house colour was beginning to grate on his nerves, but Drake squashed his emotions down. He was becoming too emotional recently, that was his problem; he wasn't weak, but he was becoming weak, and he needed to rectify that problem - by keeping all feelings out and not being affected by them. Concentrating on following Harmony, Drake wondered if the game would really be over so quickly; not that he was complaining, all the better for him; but the Snitch did not usually present itself so early, he knew from experience. The Chasers hadn't even scored one goal yet! His frown deepening and an irate scowl tugging at his lips, Drake realised that perhaps Harmony hadn't seen the Snitch - maybe she was pulling the wool over his eyes; maybe she actually thought she had seen the Snitch; maybe she was so bored she wanted to fly faster. Drake doubted the latter, but the former two were possible. He hadn't thought Harmony the type to feint, nor had he ever seen her do it, but she was older and wiser now, wasn't she? He had heard rumours that her older sister, in the year below him, was some sort of genius. Well. Not as clever as India, apparently...
No, Drake hadn't been digging for information on India. Not at all. Shaking his head, he decided to continue following Harmony anyway. If she thought she'd seen it, then Drake should pursue her to the end. If she was feinting, he would be more careful. She didn't have as much experience as he did as Seeker, so it was possible that Harmony really did expect to see the Snitch so early. Just as Drake thought he needed only one more burst of speed to catch up with the younger girl, Harmony flew away, drawing her broom to the right in a rapid motion that surprised even Drake. Damn, it's a feint! Cursing in his head, Drake also pulled his broom away quickly, trying not to crash into the stands that Harmony had been leading him to. He only just about made it, and had he not been on the lookout for a feint, he might have just injured himself. The girl had done well. Drake snorted under his breath as he levelled his broom again and cast a dark eye across at Harmony; this kid was a wily one.

Yes! Bryce's first Bludger had made contact with Wynd again. Second time lucky, Bryce thought in glee. Now Wynd couldn't steal the Quaffle from Randy, and his teammate could score. Diverting his gaze from her blonde head though, his eyes darted across to Payton, where his second Bludger was heading. Bryce shrugged when it missed the younger boy though; he hadn't expected to be quite so lucky in this game, but he was glad of his luck so far; he hoped it would stay with him. His gaze going back to Randy, he watched as she tried to score, as well as keeping an eye out for one of the two Bludgers floating around like menacing little devils. Bryce bit his lip with Asteria saved Randy's shot, but didn't think too much of it; Hufflepuff were doing great so far, and they had plenty more chances for goals. However, just then, overhead, some activity began to take place. Bryce glanced up as the crowd began to roar their approval, and saw Harmony pelting across the azure blue, apparently in hot pursuit of the Snitch. He hoped she'd get it if it really was the Snitch, but wondered how she managed to fly so fast in such heat. Just as Bryce watched Harmony feint to the left, and feel a sense of disappointment, as well as elation, well in his chest (for he was proud that she had managed to pull the feint off so well), he noticed a black blur heading towards him. On reflex, he immediately swung his bat and tried to hit it away - his eyes darting around to whom he should deflect to, and landing on Payton, who Asteria seemed to be passing to.

((Apologies for my late arrival))
Caleb Donnelly, 7th year Slytherin, had been waiting for this game, waiting for a chance to take Hufflepuff down and take a step closer to winning the Quidditch cup this year. Green and silver robes fit over his form as he adjusted them over the athletic body that stood taunt in the locker room. He was concentrating, remembering the different plays that they'd came up with. He rolled his shoulders and cracked his neck as he pulled his gloves on, digits flexing and then pressing together to crack. With that he turned from the locker with his name eteched into it and grabbed up his Firebolt ready for the games to begin.
He slipped onto his broom, shooting up into the pitch for his beginning lap around, sometimes he figured this was more for the fans than to see if his broomstick was functioning properly. He smirked at the cheers for the Slytherin team, before the fans droning faded out and the game faded into focus, his broom stopping in the circle waiting for the quaffle to be thrown. He wasn't about to let Hufflepuff win this game. Slytherin had worked far too long and hard to get to where they were and he wasn't about to disappoint anyone, especially his own team members. Green orbs focused on the quaffle just as it rose into the air, putting the game into play.
Caleb shot through the sky, his form moving right along with the rest, his body jolting back and forth on his broom as he waited for a chance for the quaffle to get to him. His form rolling away from the others as he waited. A small groan coming to his lips when Wynd was hit by a bludger. He knew it had to hurt, but Wynd took it like a pro as he jumped right back into the game, but Caleb was focused on Asteria who had the quaffle, his body speeding up so that he could fly by the goals and wait for the pass from Asteria so they could get the quaffle back to the Hufflepuff side.

Sitting on the bench was very dull. And Chace was not a dull boy. He had been a little weary about trying out for the Quidditch team in the first place. He had always loved Quidditch but being part of a 'team' was a little mainstream for Chace. But then Seth got on the team and pushed for Chace to join also. Chace could never refuse a request from his best friend. But there so many Hufflepuff players. Half of them were always on the bench. BOR-ing. Then to add to it, this was Chace's first official game. What was the chance that he was going to play with all these other seasoned players? Slim to nothing. At least the bench was somewhat in the shade so that he was out of the sun. He could only imagine how warm the players were getting out there.
The beginning of the game was quite exciting and it looked like Randy would score. That would nice if Hufflepuff made the first goal. It would show the rest of the school that the Hufflepuff team meant business. Despite Bryce's attempts to keep the Slytherin Chaser's at bay, Asteria saved the shot. It was disappointing but the game had just started. Then Ivy surprised everyone by doing some substitutions. She put Chace and Seth in the game, in the same position, and took herself out. It looked like he would get to play after all. Chace flashed a huge grin at Seth as they mounted their brooms and took position with Randy. Now that Chace was in the game, he wanted control of it. And to do that he would need the Quaffle.
