It was a cool, fall day, and Liam was sitting by the lake reading a book on spells and charms. After school, Liam would come down to the lake and read or study the grounds around the lake. This was the only place in all of the wizarding world he felt relaxed, at peace with the world. Everyday, he sat here working on different spells, some of which he liked to use to pull pranks on the other houses, mainly the Slytherins. He disliked them the most, always had. This day was no different from the other days, the book he was reading was full of ideas on pranks, some of which were rather dangerous, but that wouldn't stop him.
Liam sat there looking through the book, trying to find a good one to practice here by the lake. All he would have to do is find the right items to practice on. He had hoped that he would be able to do all of his things without being caught, since his grandfather would be extremely mad if he had get in trouble again.
Liam put the book down beside him, looked around to make sure that nobody was watching him. He did this everyday to make sure that no Slytherin would bother him, so that he would be able to keep practicing and not have to put his things away and wait for another day.

Parvati wasn't watching. She was walking along the shoreline of the lake and she was drawing. Sketching the dream she had the night before. Her mind racing with questions. She didnt realize anyone else was out by the lake, but when she saw him she stopped. She closed the voer of her sketchbook and walked up to him.
"Hi." She said, hoping he heard her, her voice was too soft, it because of all the screaming she had done the night before. She smiled warmly and set her bookbag down on the ground, before extending a hand.
"I'm Parvati." She normally didnt walk up to a person and talk to them, she was normally too shy but she wanted to get the images out of her head from the night before and by talking, that was the only way she could do so.

As Liam had been standing there gathering up somethings he could use to practice the charms with, he hadn't noticed a girl walking by the lake until she had approached him.
"Oh, hello. I'm Liam," he replied as he shook and kissed her hand very gently. "Nice day isn't it?"
As he stood there he saw a sketch pad laying next to her on the ground in her book bag, he couldn't help but wondering what she had been sketching before she talked to him. "So your an artist I take it. Do you mind if I ask what you were drawing?"

"Yes, its a very nice day. Me an artist? I wouldnt say an artist, my works not that good. But I do draw. No, I dont mind if you see. They may be disturbing, they're images of a dream I had last night. I'm trying to find out what they mean." Parvati smiled, crouched down on her haunches and pulled out her sketchbook. She flipped open the newest page and handed it to Liam.
"It's not finished, but it's a rough outline. Do you know what it is? It's been giving me daymares all day." She said quietly, yet thoughtfully. She crossed her arms and looked down at her feet. The images still fresh in her mind. She could picture the gruesome claws of the beast, and she could smell the rancid breath. She pulled her arms around her and tried to block out the images. She shuddered and opened her eyes.

"Please sit," Liam said as he took the sketchpad from Parvati. "I'm not really sure what it is, but it does look rather familiar. I think I saw something like this in my grandfathers books in his study, I just don't remember what it is."
Liam sat there studying the drawing for a few minutes more before he continued on. "It is a rather good drawing, though. Why don't you finish the drawing at tell me mor about the creature," Liam said as he hended the pad back. "If you told me more, I might be able to remember what it is."

Parvati took a deep breath and sat next to him. She smiled and hid her face in her hands, breathing in and out very slowly.
"THe creatures eyes were red. Piercing and they claws dripped with blood, like this." Parvati took the sketchbook and drew drips of blood, "and around his neck he had a medallion, with a spiral and stone. Then it screamed. And I woke up." Parvati stopped sketching and let her hand fall to her side. She closed her eyes and let a tear fall. She wiped it away, and looked at Liam.
"It was horrid." She whispered, still trying to keep back her tears.

Liam looked at Parvati and saw that she was beginning to cry. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry," Liam said before looking back at the drawing. "I know what this is, I just can't remember what it's called. If I knew where my grandfather was, I could ask him, but he left before he told me where he was going."
Liam still felt responsible for making Parvati cry, when he asked, "Is there something I can do to cheer you up?"

Parvati smiled as she wiped away her tears.
"No you didnt make me cry. I'vebeen holding my tears in all day. Just to say I wasnt scared. But I am. I have never had a nightmare like this before. It was horrible." Parvati placed her sketchbook back in her bag and turned to face Liam.
"Cheering me up would be impossible really. I am dreading everything about this month." she said, taking some candy out and offering some to Liam.

"Oh, why's that?" Liam asked taking some candy from Parvati. Liam couldn't understand why anybody would be dreading this month. To him, this was one of the best months of the year, right after December, that is. Liam enjoyed October for the simple fact that Halloween would finally be upon them.
"Are you going to the Halloween Ball?" Liam asked as he searched for something better to say. "I have heard that a couple of Hufflepuffs are planning a prank for the ball, I think it has something to do with frogs or something."

"Yeah I heard that too. Would be interesting. No I dont think i will go to the ball. No one to go with and I wouldnt want to risk running into Padma there, she's pretty ticked at me." Parvati answered with a small smile. She took a candy for herself and chewed it silently.
"Raining frogs would be funny though." She said as an afterthought.

"Padma, she's your sister right? She's not in Gryffindor is she?" Liam said as he slowly chewed on his piece of candy. "Why is she mad at you?" Liam asked calmly.
As Liam thought about it, he realized that raining frogs would be good for a few laughs. Even though he didn't think of it himself, he was glad that somebody was doing something like that at the ball. "Yeah, when I think about it, it does sound like it will be a fun thing to see. If you don't end up going, I'll try and explain what happens, that is if I can."

Parvati nodded and scowled at the mention of Padma.
"Twin sister actually. No, shes in Ravenclaw, the brainy one she is. Shes mad at me because I refuse to draw her a picture of Ron, too much explaining to do if you ask me. But then again shes always ticked at me." She said with an attempted smile on her face.
"Heh, yeah, even thought I'm not much into pranks, it sounds funny. Watching frogs fall from the sky. I also heard they are charming them, that when you kiss one it turns into something you want." Parvati smiled and looked around. Broed, she took out her wand, stood up and traced it through the air. Sparks illuminated the dark and swirls erupted from the tip. She pulled the wood through the air and wrote random things.

"Draw a picture of Ron?" Liam said as he chooked on his piece of candy. "Why would she want a picture of Ron? What is so special about him? I can't believe that anybody would want a picture of him. Don't get me wrong, I like him, but why would anybody want his picture. Most people would rather have a picture of Harry. Even I would want a picture of him, but Ron? I don't think so."
Liam couldn't believe what he had just said. He tried to think why he would say something like that, but could find no reasonable answer. "I'm sorry about bursting out like that. I just never thought i would here anybody would want a picture of Ron, considering he's not famous, unless you count the fact that he's Harry friend. I am sorry, I have been told to watch my tone, especially around women and children, so I am sorry."

"Hah no worries. Actually, can you keep a secret? Of course you can! Padma went to the Yule Ball with Ron, remember that? Well, apparently shes still not over him. That git." Parvati answered with a confident nod. She despised her sister and everything she did. Padma always got her way and had the prizes to prove it. By Parvati not giving her the picture she proved something.

Liam let out a small laugh and said, "Yeah, I remember it. Even tough I couldn't go, I heard all about it. I just can't believe that the two of them went together. I personaly wouldn't go to anything like that with anyone out of our house. But, if worse came to worse, I'd rather go with a Ravenclaw. At least then there would be something to talk about."
Liam's thoughts drifted off for a few moments, before he realized what was going on around him. "Still though, I'd think that you'd be happy for her, at least she is out of your hair. And afterall, she is your sister, your twin sister, the two of you have something that nobody can take away from you. I just wish I had something like that with somebody. The only family I have is my grandfather. So, I'd rather be in your place and have a sibling than not have one like I do."
After saying this Liam felt his spirits fall even more. It was hard for him to see people with family, or even hear about the problems they have. For he had longed for a brother or sister all his life, even if it was a sibling he didn't get along with.

Parvati laughed and sunk down on to the ground, picking at her fingernail polish.
"Yeah, its all fun having a sister. Who gets everything she wants, takes your things, steals your boyfriends, etc etc. Oh, its loads of fun. But it's not. I would rather have a grandfather who was there for me and listen to me and make me feel special then someone who brushes me off and says I'm worthless. It's horrible. And, us being twins, thats nothing special, its just something she can ridicule me by. 'Oh Parvati, really, you should do something with your hair, my hair goes perfectly, shouldnt we be twins? Then why am I prettier?' 'Parvati, really you do look like a dumbie, please try to appear better.' 'Parvati you're failing class, AGAIN! We are twins right?' That is all I hear. It stings, someplace deep in my heart." Parvati said dramatically, adding expression to her voice and expression in her face. She scowled at the thought of her sister and the memories of her dissings.
"Really, it's not something you should want. At least, not a twin." Parvati added as an after thought. She smiled meekly and looked at Liam.

Liam eyes when wide and his voice small, when he said, "I guess your right. I do like heving my grandfather around, it makes up for somethings. But, most of the time he is out of the country, trying to find out what happened to my parents, that leaves me alone in the house that my father left me when he died with the house elves. But at least he lets me do things that most kids wouldn't be aloud to do if they lived with their parents. And especially if they lived in the muggle world. But it would be nice to know what it was like to have family, other than a grandfather and a few aunts, uncles, and cousins. But, we can't change the past can we?"
Liam had looked over at Parvati and smiled for some odd reseason. He took out his wand and a piece of parchment, and used magic to create a picture of the girl sitting next to him, with all the things that her sister had ever takien from her, trying to be friendly and show her that he'd rather be friends with Parvati than her twin sister. When he was done, Liam gave the picture to Parvati and stood up, trying to stretch his back, which had become sore from sitting on the ground.

Parvati took the picture and smiled. Glad to see this gesture, she put it in her bag and looked at Liam.
"If it helps any, you can have my sister. Even though her company is not pleasurable." She said with a small laugh. She stood up and spun around, trying to wake herself up. When she stopped, she grabbed her head.
"Woo, dizzy!" She said with a smile. She grabbed her sketchbook and looked at the drawing she hadnt finished. Laughing she flipped to a fresh page and started drawing Liam, wthout noticing her eyebrow furrowed into deep thought as she drew the lines and shaded the shadows.

"Yeah, no thanks. I don't think I'd want a sister who is as big a pain as yours," Liam said as he looked around himself. As he watched Parvati start to draw a picture of him, Liam asked, "Why don't you use magic when you draw. It would be a lot easier, wouldn't it."
Liam looked at the drawing as he sat their. He couldn't help but think that she was really talented. He wished that he could draw that well without using magic, but art was not one of his strong points. He figured that since he was kept away from things like that all his life, that that was why he wasn't very good at those kinds of things.

Parvati smiled and looked at Liam. Magic to her was average. She could do things easily enough, but it didnt come to her naturally, she had to work at it.
"Nah, drawing this way is much easier for me. Besides, it doesnt take much time. Using magic to draw art would take the fun out of it. What about you? Can you do it without magic?" She asked, looking back down at the drawing and then sighing, because she realized she messed up. She smudged at it and then drew another strand of hair, covering up the part where she had made a mistake.
