"Can I draw without magic? I don't think so, I haven't really tried," Liam said as he watched Parvati. "I mean, in my house we always used magic to do things. At least thats all I remember. I'd like to learn to draw without magic though."
Liam watched as Parvati fixed a mistake, covering it up with a strand of hair. "That's looking really good. I wish that I was that good."

Parvati glanced up at him and then sketched another piece. She finally smiled with satisfaction and turned it to face him.
"Well, I was drawing since...I could. It's fairly simple. Really, just like drawing with magic only, without it. Heh, if that makes any sense. I could show you sometime. I mean, I have been wanting to do something with my art instead of day dreaming about it." Parvati said, hoping he would at least consider her offer in Art lessons. She was a great drawer, she knew this, but she was never going to expand her art if she never taught what she knew.

Liam looked at the sketch of him and thought it was amazing. "That's awesome, a great likeness. Yeah, are you serious? That'd be great if you could teach me. And I kind of get what you mean about it being like magic, but not. So yeah, I'd like you to teach me some time," Liam said as he stared dazed at how well she sketched him.

Parvati beamed.
"Great! This is going to be...perfect! Okay, lets see here. Do you want to start now? Or, just talk? I'm up for both. It's nice to have someone to talk to about these things. Heh, Padma's no help at all." Parvati said as she carefully tore out the picture of Liam she held it out to him.
"It's yours. I can always make more. But you need motivation." She said with a small smile.

As Liam took the picture from Parvati, he said, "Thanks, I appreciate it very much. You know, I think I'd would like to start now, if you don't mind. If you do mind, then we can start some other time."
Liam could feel the excitement growing inside him. The excitement was from finally getting to do something that everybody else got a chance to do, and that was express themselves through art.

"No problem. Sure, we can start now. Just hold on a second." Parvati stood up and ran out a little ways so she could at least see her dorm window, she took out her wand.
"Accio New Sketchbook." She said, her wand pointing her wand at her window. In less then a minute her sketchbook was in her hands and she was walking back to Liam.
"You will need your own sketchbook." She said, sitting back down. she grabbed her bag and opened it. Sifting around for awhile she pulled out her package of new pencils.
"Okay, so what do you know about art? Besides that you use a pencil and paper, well most the time." She asked, a small smile creeping across her face. She opened to a fresh page and tilted the book sideways, it was much easier for her to draw that way.

Liam watched as Parvati called for her sketchbook. When she finally returned and sat back down, Liam said, "Yeah, I know. I'll have to send for one later. But for now I'll use my spare parchments."
After Liam dug around in his back for a few moments, he pulled out a few pieces of parchment. He thought for a moment about Parveti's question before replying. "Well, I know that you can use paints and inks. I also know that you can do all different types of pictures. You can do portraits and landscapes and anything else you can think of, but thats about it."

"hah, okay, well, lets start with the basics." She drew a circle."this is a circle." She said with a smile. She laughed lightly and then erased the circle.
"Im just kidding. But, lets learn how to draw. What do you feel like drawing? People are my specialtie but I can also draw so many other things. Just, not very well." Parvati said looking at her pencil.

"Very funny," Liam said as he faked a laugh. "Well, I'm not sure. If you are any good at drawing dragons, I'd like to learn how to do that. The reason I said dragon is because my grandfather told me that my father was an animagi, and he turned into a dragon."
By this time Liam was already starting on drawing what he could of a dragon. He was able to use his memories of dragons that were in his favorite books.

Parvati nodded and watched as Liam started to draw. This is exactly what she wanted to do. To get his memory working into a picture and then expand from there. She watched him and said,
"Thats good. Really it is. I dont think I need to help you that much. You got the basic outline. Now all we need is for you to learn how to draw detail." Parvati told him, she took her pencil and looked down at her sketchbook. She went off his drawing. Drawing the outline and then drawing in the details.

Liam watched as Parvati used what he had drawn to start with and continued with the detail. He studied how she was making the detail. Slowly, he began to fill in the detail himself, drawing on his memories even more to remember what he had seen. This was more difficult since the pictures in his books were always moving and he had to focus even harder than he would normally had done. As this was proving rather difficult, Liam rmembered the tapestry on his wall, and Liam thought, 'Why didn't I remember that earlier.'
"How's this looking now?" Liam asked as he showed Parvati the sketch.

Parvati leaned over and looked at Liam's sketch. The detail had grown by so much. He did have art in his blood. He just didnt know how to put it through Muggle ways.
"Great! Now, lets do colors. I like black and white plain sketch, but some people like color. How about you? Which do you prefer?" Parvati asked, as she continued to look at his sketch. it was actually rather good. She was impressed.

Liam pondered Parvati's question for a few moments. Which did he like better black and white or color. He had never thought about, and now he had to choose. He did like how colors seemed to bring things to life, but at the same time black and white was as impressive, if not more.
"I think I'd like to do black and white right now," Liam said still thinking about the question. "Maybe some other time use colors, if thats okay."

Parvati nodded and smiled.
"Of course is alright. Besides, if you said color right now that would be a problem. Considering I dont have my colored pencils." She said with a laugh.

Liam laughed at Parvati's comment before he said, "Really, well I guess it's a good thing color isn't important then. So, where do I began?" Liam asked sounding excited. He couldn't wait to see how something he did without magic would turn out. Especially since in his home everything is done with magic, Liam wanted to see what it was like to be more like a muggle, since they were interesting to Liam. Liam waited patiently for Parvati to tell him what to do next.

"Mmk, black and white isnt just black and white. You need to smudge the edges also. Shadows need to be smooth. And the darklight should be a tad darker." Parvati smiled and pointed out these points as she traced her finger over the drawing.
"Shading is a key term here also." She traced her figner through the detail of the dragon and smiled as she pulled her hand away.

Liam watched and listened closely as Parvati explained to him how shading and lighting were all important. He was taking everything in so that he would not make a mistake. "Okay, I think I got it. So to give it a life of it's own, we have to add subtle tones of highlights and shades," Liam said.
Liam slowly added detail to his drawing, paying close attention to what he was doing. It was a long time before Liam looked up from his sketch. "So how is this? I did everything I could to add all the details, making it look like it could jump off the page."

Parvati looked at the sketch, gasped and a small smile crept across her face. She gently took the sketch from him and observed it more closely. The shading wasn't too dark nor too light, it was just right. And the detail was magnificent. She turned to Liam.
"You sure you haven't done this before?' She asked in awe. Her finger traced over the parchment, as if she was feeling the dragon and she smiled lightly. She was impressed, he was a fast learner, this was good. She handed it back to him and looked at her sketch. It was slightly different, but that was because they had different taste in art, her's was more mysterious his, was more dark. He used lots of darklights and that was what made the picture so realistic.
"Not bad. Not too bad." Parvati said as she packed up her things. She stood up, brushed her skirt off and looked at Liam. It was getting late and she had a potions test to study for the next day.
"Maybe we could meet in a classroom next time?"She asked with a giggle. She put the lavender strap on her right shoulder and looked down at Liam.

"Yeah, I'm sure I haven't done anything like this before. It was a little easy though, but hard at the same time, not using magic and all. But, I had fun," Liam replied. He watched as Parvati studied the sketch even closer, noticing the smile on her face, he said, "So you like it, I take it?"
Liam saw Parvati stand, and he realized that he was getting a bit tired. He stood next to her after getting his things back in his bag. "Yeah, we can meet in a classroom next time," Liam replied as he streched his arms. "It is getting rather late, would you like me to walk you back to the common room?"

Parvati took out a pony tail holder and pulled her hair back. She smiled.
"Of course I like it. You show remarkable experience for someone who hasnt done this before." She said as he stood up next to her. She smiled again and looked at the fading light in the sky. She turned her head back to face Liam as he asked her if she would like to be walked to the common room. She shrugged and nodded slowly.
"Sure, sounds good." Parvati smiled again and shifted the weight of her lavender book bag to the other shoulder. Ready to head out.
