"Right then," Liam said as he lead the way, staying close to Parvati's side. "Let me ask you something. What do you think of Snape? I personally think he is the biggest piece of slime on the face of the planet, other than Voldemort of course."
Liam looked over at Parvati waiting for a reply. "I hope it doesn't bother you if I say his name. Grandfather always told me not to be afraid of him since I'm not Harry or anybody else important enough for him to care what I think. Afterall, I'm no threat to him," Liam said about his last comment.

Parvati smiled at Liam.
"A fear in a name is like a fear in nothing. It doesn't bother me if you say his name, actually it bothers me when people say 'you-know-who' or 'he-who-must-not-be-named'. Really, if you want to say something say it. Oi, it gets rather annoying really. Snape? Well, he himself I dislike very much. But I am okay with potions. But when he deducts so many points, I just....ergh...it just hits me. He's not really a good person is he?" Parvati said as they continued to walk down to the castle. The air was getting chillier and she was getting tired. But she liked talking with Liam. He was the only person who she could really talk to. And not just about art, but about other things too. She sighed and looked at him.
"What's your favorite class?" She asked, trying to make small talk. It had gotten a little more silent then earlier.

"No, I understand what you mean about saying Voldemorts name. Everybody thinks that if you say his name that he will appear and get you or something. I think it's a load of rubish that the Ministry started," Liam replied to Parvati's comment about Voldemort. "Snape isn't a good man at all. picking on all us Gryffindors and leaving all the Slytherins alone. It is the worst thing in the world, having someone like that teach us."
As they continued to walk, Liam thought about many things that he would like to do to Snape if he could get away with it. It wasn't until Parvati asked him a question that he spoke. "What's my favorite class? I don't know. Probably Care of Magical Creatures or Defense Against the Dark Arts. They are both really good subjects. At least I think they are," Liam replied.

Parvati nodded understandingly. She opened her mouth to speak but then closed it again, having lost her train of thought. She then smiled and began to speak.
"Like I said before, I am rather good at Potions. So I guess you could say that's my favorite class, but not for the professor. Defense Against the Dark Arts is cool, except I am terribly afraid of the Dark Arts. So, that doesnt go well with me. I love Charms, I just cant get the hang of it. You're right, DaDa and COMC are really good classes, they just dont appeal to me as much as otehrs would. And yeah, Snape does take lots of points from us and barely any from Slytherin but, I have a friend in Hufflepuff, Jordan Cortes, she says Snape deducts points from them just as much from us. Except, since Harry isnt in their class they dont seem to lost as much as we do a day." She said thoughtfully. She knew her words were jumbled and her ideas thrown about carelessly but she was too tired to care. She smiled tiredly at Liam as they entered the castle and warmth overwhelmed her.

"Yeah, charms was a little dificult for me at first, but I caught on rather quick. As for potions, they are okay, and rather easy for me, I just con't care for them. But, Muggle Studies is fun, it lets me see how muggles are. The only down side is that Malfoy is in the class, and he's a real twit. And as for the dark arts, my whole family has done what they could to stop people from using them. I guess you can call it a family tradition. My father, grandfather, great grandfather and so on were all aurors and so was my mother and grandmother, so that leaves me to follow in their footsteps and do my part to stop evil someday. But, it's not like I'm being pushed into it, I really want to do as my family has done for so long, it makes me feel like I earned my family name, and I would be able to carry on the work my parents have done," Liam said as they entered the castle.
"Do you mind if we duck into the great hall? I haven't eaten since lunch and I'm rather hungery. If not, I'll wlak withyou the rest of the way and go down later."

"Nah it's fine. We can go into the Great Hall. Gives me time to do my homework that I should have done hours ago." Parvati laughed lightly and turned right heading for the great hall.
"Aurors eh?Interesting. So are you afraid of anything? I mean, if you are gonna follow in their footsteps you must be brave. I am deathly afraid of snakes...ehh, they're just....blah. I'm glad I wasnt placed in Slytherin, well that would be a tragedy anyway." She said smiling and sifiting through her shoulderbag. She found her charms book and then pulled it out, including her sketchbook.

Liam let out a small chuckle. He was glad he'd done all his homework before heading out, now he could focus on eating rather than doinghis work. "Yeah, I did my work already. Always do, this way I have more time for other things that are more fun," Liam said as they entered the great hall.
"Nah, are you kidding? I can't think of anything I have ever been afraid of. Well, once when I was six. I had gotten hold off my grandfathers wand and set his rug on fire. He thought it was funny, watching me run around trying to put it out. I mean remember, I was six, so I was freaked out at what had happened. But, he told me why it had happened and told me what I was. But, what was worse was when he told me about my parents deaths for the first time, and gave me my fathers wand. After that, I haven't had anything to worry about, my grandfather told me that my father's wand, which I always have with me, will keep me safe. And it has. I just don't understand why I can use my fathers wand. Afterall, each wand is only to have one owner, right?" Liam finally finished as he took a seat. "What about your family, what do they do?"

"My family? Well, I wouldnt really know. They change things every year. Well, actually, yeah that's about it. I can't really answer that question, no straight answer." Parvati said as she sat down opposite him and pulled her bookbag up beside her. She set her sketchbook in front of her, took out some parchment, a quill and some ink. She opened her charms book and started to write down notes.
"Odd really. A wand is supposed to have only one owner. Why, moreimportantly, how, did you get your fathers wand?" Parvati asked as she contiuned to take notes.

Why did Liam get his fathers wand? He was never sure himself. He had asked his grandfather several times, but never got an answer. "I don't know why I have it. My grandfather never told me why he had it in the first place or why my father didn't have it when he and my mother died," Liam said looking up from his plate. "Why is it like that, I don't know. And I don't think I ever will know."

Parvati bit the tip of her quill, forgetting that it had feathers. She smiled at herself and then turned to look at Liam.
"Hmm yes. Odd really. Makes you think doesnt it?" She asked with a small smile on her face. She laughed lightly and turned back to her notes. Her handwriting was barely readable so she rewrote it on another piece of parchment.

"Yeah, well somethings we'll never know, now will we?" Liam answered as he finished his meal. He collected his things and asked, "Are you ready to continue up to the common room, or are you going to stay down here?"

Parvati glanced up from her notes at Liam. She smiled and started to stack the parchment and place it in her bookbag. She stood and put the bookbag over her shoulder.
"I think we should head up. I can do this in the Common Room, but I don't want to get caught past curfew, again." Parvati said with a small laugh. She looked at Liam and said,
"So, shall we?"

Liam watched Parvati put her things away. He was always the last one to admit that he was out past curfew, so now he was really curious about why Parvati was out after curfew. He decided not to ask, but he said, "Alright then. It is getting rather late, and I don't want to lose anymore points from Gryffindor. I mean, afterall, I will probably cost us more in Potions class anyway. Don't you agree?"

Parvati smiled and walked beside Liam as they exited the Great Hall.
"Speaking of which. When does your detention start? I think Snape was actualy really cruel about that..a months detention, seriously." Parvati said shaking her head in disgust at the Potions teacher. She sighed lightly and looked up. Her eyes focused on something on the ground and she picked it up. It was a coin. But it wasn't a Galleon, nor a sickle or even a knut. She tilted her head in wonder and showed to Liam.
"What do you think this is? It could very well be Muggle Money, but who would have that here?" She asked, twirling the bronze coin in between her fingers. She smiled and handed it to Liam, wondering what he thought. She glanced at the clock and saw it was 5 minutes to curfew, she bit her lip and looked at Liam.

Liam looked at Parvati, he had almost forgotten that he had got detention. "I'm not sure, I haven't found out," Liam said sounding disgusted. "It doesn't matter how long my detention is, it's just one more to add to the list."
Liam took the coin from Parvati and studied it closely. He had never seen anything like it before. If it was muggle money, he wouldn't know since he is a pure-blood wizard and stayed out of muggle affairs quite often. "I'm not sure," Liam said confused. He then looked at the clock and noticed it was getting rather late. "We better hurry, we don't need to get Gryffindor in anymore trouble," Liam said as he grabbed Parvati's hand and started running up the stairs.

Parvati shrugged as he looked at the coin. he then grabbed her hand and pulled her up the stairs. She laughed as she realized how much trouble they would be if they got caught past curfew. They then reached the portrait.
(shall we continue this in the common room?)
