“Here, here” Mary said while lifting her mug in response to Kamron’s statement that one could buy for themselves. “Compared to each of you buying yourselves only one thing I kinda feel bad though. But the shirts, oh and the boots, they were just calling out to me I couldn’t say no that would be rude.” Mary continued, only taking her eyes off the book at the end to punctuate her statement with a joking smile.
“What book did you get?” She then asked after returning to her own book. “Hopefully not the same as I got you is it? That would be a nightmare. You are still planning on trying for seeker are you not Jasmine? By the way have you opened your gifts yet?

Jasmine looked up from her book and smiled at Karmon, "Yes its kind of hard not to buy anything here there are so many good shops." Jasmine said pulled her brown hair out of her face and looking at the other gifts that lay on the table. Jasmine sighed and turned towards Mary who asked her if she still was trying out for seeker.
"To tell you the truth I am liking Keeper much better and I hoped I at least made the reserve team." Jasmine said smiling and looking at the golden snitch. Her eyes twinkled and she put it in her shoulder bag.
"But I think it was a good idea and I really like my presents." Jasmine said turning her head at Molly and Karmon and smiling warmily at them. She than return to her book that was laying on the table. She loved reading books on potions and it was her favorite subject next to Charms.

Mary was slightly disappointed when Jasmine said that she preferred keeper. Mary had been hoping to get her something useful, not just pretty. ‘But so long as Jasmine’s happy and she likes it that’s all that matters’ Mary thought to herself. The waitress then brought Jasmine her butterbeer and Mary asked for another cappuccino since hers was basically gone. “Kamron you’re on the reserve team are you not?” Mary asked.

Upon hearing Mary's question he nodded.
"Yes, I am on the reserve team--I play beater. Quidditch has become a rescent addition to my list of passtimes, I find it to be a rather excellent stress reliever."
He looked down at his mug for a moment, taking another sip of his drink before looking over at Jasmine.
"So, you are going to try for the reserve keeper?"

Mary was somewhat surprised when Kamron mentioned that he played beater considering that was her position as well. She used it to relieve stress as well; the feeling of hitting the ball was quite relaxing. Her main reason for choosing that position though was it upset her mother the worse. Her mother had never allowed her to play quidditch when she was younger except with her cousins and even the she looked down on it. Her mother went on and on about how it was not a proper past time for a lady. So naturally this year Mary decided to try for beater out of spite.
“Yes I actually saw Jasmine’s try out before Christmas. I looked out the window and there she was so I decided to stay and watch. You were very good; I would be shocked if you didn’t get it.” Mary said. She should have known Jasmine would want to stick with keeper; but somewhere in her mind at the time she thought Jasmine would still want to try for seeker. ‘O well. I’m sure she likes the snitch anyways; even if she won’t be using it.’ Mary thought.

He nodded at Mary who had replied, then glanced over at Jasmine. He had never seen her fly, and missed her tryout--not that reserves were normally there. Normally it was only the captin and sometimes the remaineder of the team.
"I am sure you made the reserve Jasmine. Maybe we can pratice together sometime, not that our positions are smilar, but sometimes is nice not to be out there alone."
He then glanced back at Mary, who seemed to knowledgeabout about the wizard sport, but hadn't said if she herself played.
"Do you favor any position, Mary?"

Kamron spoke to Jasmine about practicing together while Mary read her book half listening. She then looked up and closed her book as Kamron asked if she favoured any position. “I play beater actually. On the Slytherin reserve team. I enjoy every position of course, but beater is my favourite as well. It is just such a satisfying feeling when your bat hits the ball and sends it flying don’t you agree? Plus it drives my mother nuts, which is a total plus. Maybe it is just my age speaking but anything that bothers my mother is a good thing for me.” Mary said with a playful smile.
“I know I am kind of the enemy type thing so I wont be offended if you don’t like my proposal. But maybe the three of us could get together and practice some time. I don’t get to practice much because I am on the reserve team so I’m not really in the normal practices and I don’t really know anybody else who plays. Everybody just seems so much older than me you know? Even here I am the youngest one.” Mary continued with a smile to show she didn’t mind being the youngest.

Jasmine looked up from her book that lay on the table in front of her. She had switched it to a Herbology book, since it was not doing so well in it. She just couldn’t memorize all the plants and what they are for. It was just a little challenging for her and she rather liked Potions and Charms better. Jasmine smiled at her friends as they talked about Quidditch. It had been on her mind 24/7 and the butter flies in her stomach seemed to float around madly as the match drew nearer and nearer. "That would be nice Kamron I am having a little trouble blocking buldgers. Those bloody things are so fast I can’t get out of the way in time." Jasmine said as her smile disappeared from her face. She loved all the positions in Quidditch but Chaser, Keeper, and Seeker seemed to be her favorite.
Jasmine than glanced down at her book and started to read. She didn’t feel like reading but Herbology was the class she was having troubles in and she need to get better. It was in her nature to just read and study. Turning the pages of the book she half listened to Mary talk about how the position beater. She than glanced up quite interested what they had to say. She never tried the postition because she never could hit the buldger, and in a game you have to hit them the other team and defend the players. "That really sounds interesting but I could never play the position. For the love of Pete, I can’t even block a buldger what going to make you think that I can hit one." Jasmine said smiling and giggling what she had just said. Lena as used the quote, "For the love of Pete", when ever she was angry with Jasmine. Well it was better to hear than the word grounded.
Jasmine than glanced at Mary who said that she was the youngest at the table. Well that was true but Jasmine gave everybody a shot. She knows there’s some good in people and Mary is one of the nicest Slytherins she knows so far. "That’s sounds good the three of us pratcing and I also like the position Chaser so I could work on my blocking skills." Jasmine said turning back to her book. She wished she didn’t say that she had trouble blocking buldgers because the beaters wouldn’t always be there to help her and the enemy team knows one of her weakness. With a deep sigh she didn’t glance up from her book but continued to read.

He nodded agreeingly as Mary spoke of what drove a beater to their position. It did seem to be an unstopable force. Those who were meant to be beaters just were and their was little to describe it. He assumed that for many it was pecause out of all the quidditch positions it was the nearest to beaing the outcast one. It was dangerous, it was brutal, and was Mary said, it upset parents.
He then glanced back over at Jasmine, who was the first to reply to Mary's questiona bout praticing. It did not matter what house they were all from, they would easily help one another pratice. There was no declaring enemies until they were in an actual game.
"Yes, it would be wonderful for the three of us to pratice together, and Jasmine, I would be more than happy to help you with your bludgers, as I'm sure Mary would as well."

Mary was all giddy and happy when Kamron and Jasmine agreed with her idea to practice together. She had started playing beater simply to spite her mother, but now she had trouble imaging herself in any other position. She could play them of course if it was necessary, but none of them held the same spark for her. She was very happy to be practicing with another beater too seeing as it was difficult, not impossible, but difficult to practice beater on ones owns. “Why of course I will help you Jasmine. Kamron and I can take turns hitting the ball at you and force you to get out of the way.” Mary joked, a playful smile resting on her lips. “Seriously though, I will defend you from the big bad Kamron if he plays too hard ok?” She continued to play. For some reason when Mary felt like playing around she often could not help but continue. If she was in a good mood and wanted to play it was quite apparent by her utter lack of seriousness.

He could not resist laughing when Mary said that she would protect Jasmine from 'Big Bad Kamron,' as he by no means saw himself or big and bad. Even if she was joking, it was a rather creative mind ot come up with that.
"Ah yes, because once on the picth, I am no longer the mild male you see before you now. With a bat in hand and bludger in the air I show no mercy"
He laughed at this own joke, knowing that while he enjoyed the position and he did take most of his stress out on the bludger, he was by no means as agressive as many other beaters at the school.

Mary laughed as Kamron continued her joke; she loved it when people played along. It was no fun with those people who just sit there and look at you like you are insane. Or even worse are the people who just look at you say ‘that wasn’t funny’ and move on. Mary found herself amusing and that is all that really mattered, but it was always nice to have someone to play with. “Like superman he turned from the observing reporter into the aggressor. Kamron and Jaquin taking down Quidditch teams one player at a time.”

He once again found himself trying to hold back a deep laughter. He normally was rather mild and took many aspects of life in a very serious manor, but there were times when one just needed to lighten up and enjoy themselves. Besides, there was no better time to relax as such then wen on vacation and spending time with friends.
"Ah yes, we make a deadly pair. That is why I am only a reserve, it we were to play together the restults would be disasterous."
He flashed a grin at Mary, who seemed to be enjoying their jest.

Mary giggled as Kamron grinned at her; she wasn’t done playing and was glad he seemed to be enjoying it as well. “I fear for my housemates if you guys play together again next game.” Mary said referring to the Ravenclaw Slytherin match. “I keep my fingers crossed you whole team is well and am grateful Catalina had the good sense to keep you two apart when possible.” Mary continued. “But you wouldn’t hurt me if I were put in would you?” Mary said in a childish tone trying to look fearful. “Poor, little, young Mary would be safe would she not?” she continued batting her eyes at him thoroughly enjoying herself.

He laughed again, leaning back in his chair as if he was seriously considering his options about the next game. In fact, since their vacation word had been out to all the team members both reserve and not to who may be playing if needed. Both of the normal keepers were in this time, so he wouldn't probably not be in the game, but he would be ready none the less.
"Well, your house is very lucky that our normal beaters have the glory this game and I am to sit on the sidelines secretly wishing one of them to fail so I may jump in an create chaos among the masses. And as for you, Miss Mary..." He paused again, his eyes narrowed slightly to make it seem as if he was not fooled by her innocent tone. "I have a feeling my bludger will not like you. Yes, I think you will be safe from it"

Mary couldn’t help but really laugh as the joke went on. Kamron then said that she would most likely be safe. Mary pretended to breath a sigh of relief as she said “Well I think that is the first time I will have benefited from not being liked. Why doesn’t it like me Kamron? I’m nice… I can change I can be anything. I just want to be liked.” Mary in a sad voice then slumped her shoulders and rested her head on the table as she pretended to sob. Moments later she lifted her head and smiled at them. “Melodramatics aside you really could be like Clark Kent. I mean think about it you do psychology instead of journalism but it is a form of reporting and requires the same observation skills. Now we just need to get you a costume and pit you against the forces of evil. I have the Slytherin password so that won’t be hard” she said poking fun at her house. She knew not all Slytherins were evil, but it was a very common perception and an easy one to go with.

He laughed once again, trying to picture himself flying around the Slytherin common room saving the innocent from the evil intention soft the serpant house of Hogwarts.
"Oh yes, I am sure my quidditch robes would work as a costume. Sure it would give me away, but if Quidditch is when I truly transform, them perhaps my robes are partly to blame."
He grinned at her when she meantioned knowing the Slytherine passowrd, it would be an intresting adventure...

Mary broke down laughing. She couldn’t even speak and there were tears flowing from her eyes as she thought of Kamron waltzing into the Slytherin common room in his Quidditch robes then punching someone while all you could see was ‘WHAM’ written in yellow on a red spiky thing floating in the air. The bright blue would probably be the main thing that stands out in that picture. Although she was more than used to it, especially after growing up in the house of her ancestors that had been decorated after the Slytherin common room Mary was still not overly fond of it. Not that she really liked bright colours in excess but one every once and awhile would be nice, and if they could somehow get rid of the draft that would be nice as well.
Mary had her head resting on the table because she was laughing so hard it was beginning to hurt when she knocked over her cappuccino. That snapped her back to reality real quick as the now cold liquid ran down her new sweater and onto her jeans. “O shoot” she said looking around for some napkins. Upon finding a few she started dabbing at the stains.

He too was lost in his own fit of laughter when he heard her voice change and he glanced over to see her new sweater stained with the creamy brown of her drink. His own laughing slowly subsided, thought he remained happy as he pulled out his wand and did a drying spell with a fading twist resulting in her shirt returning back to normal.
"A few more years at Hogwarts pays off in the end. You figure out how to avoid truly doing laundry."

All of a sudden her sweater was clean and Mary looked up to see what had happened. She saw Kamron’s wand out and he mentioned a few more years at Hogwarts paying off. “Thank you” she said. “I just can’t seem to get the wrist movement perfect. So I can clean up water and things, but anything like this that I dry always leaves a stain. You have no idea how many pairs of clothes I have had to replace due to sheer clumsiness.” She continued while smiling at him, glad she had not ruined the shirt Molly had given her.
Mary then picked her book back up; thankful she had put it in her bag earlier. “What book did you get today?” she asked Kamron upon remembering his mention of the gift he bought himself.
