“I am very glad you like it.” Mary beamed at him. “Let’s go get coffee then.” She said when he told her he had yet to see Molly or Jasmine. Without waiting for a response she grabbed his arm and they walked over to the little café she had pointed out.
It was the same café she had gone to lunch with Jersey at so she decided to take the same table knowing how cozy it was by the fire. She sat down and looked at him. “So what holiday do you celebrate then?” she asked.

He et out a soft laught when she dragged him down the street and into the Cafe. He thought that coffee was a rather brilliant idea. He had only had the muggle drink a few times, and he had to admit that it took a bit of getting use to, bt he found that with a hint of butterbeet it was a rahter tastey drink.
Once they stepped inside he could feel his body relax as a wave of warmth passed over his body. He had not realized how cold it was outside. They made their way across the room ad settled down at a cosy table near the fire.
"I don't celebrate a specific holiday actually. I celebrate the season. There are so many holidays in such a short period of time, and they all represent the same basic things--hope, joy, love, miracles"

It was lovely by the fire and Mary almost felt as if she had melted away into the warmth. She looked around to see if she could find Molly or Jasmine in there but found the turning of her head made her uncomfortable in the high back squashy armchair. She made sure all of her bags were standing up neatly beside the chair so that they wouldn’t topple and spill their contents everywhere. She then closed her eyes and listened to Kamron speak about what he celebrates in the holiday season.
“You know, that’s a better reason to celebrate than most people’s. Christmas and things have become to commercialized if you ask me. People only celebrate it for the gifts. We seem to have forgotten that it is supposed to be about love and hope and the birth of Christ.” Mary began to rant, but quickly stopped knowing it was neither the time nor the place. “Sorry about that; all I'm trying to say is that I agree with what your saying. I can be a little too outspoken for my own good sometimes.” She said with an embarrassed giggle.

He listen to to her reply and smiled when she apologized for being outspoken. In his opinion it was something that far too may people were not these days, especially the youth. They always seemed far too concerned with fitting in to form an opinion of their own, let alone a strong one and be willing to vocalize it.
"There is nothing to apolgize for. You meirly agree because you see the religious aspect to the holiday, or I should say one religions view of it. I do not necessarily celebrate the religious side, instead I like to think it is the spiritual side of it, as that does not draw the same divisions religion does."

“Spiritual side.” She said thoughtfully. “You know I have never heard anyone refer to the spiritual side of things as not being religious before. Even when I was studying about Buddhism, I think it was, for a brief period, I find they are the religion most separate from the idea of a god; their spiritual sides are still their religion. I suppose its because I have never really had a real conversation with some atheist or agnostic. Sorry if I seem dense, but do you mind explaining your ideas to me then? I have never thought of it that way.”

It was then that a snort, rather plump woman, who kept her deep brown hair in a single plait that ran the legnth of her back walked to their table, interupting their conversation.
"Wha' 'an I 'et ye?"
Kamron paused for a moment "A small hazelnut, with a bit of butterbeer please."
He smiled at the waitress before looking over at Mary to see if she wanted to order anything.

“I’ll have a cappuccino please.” Mary said smiling at the woman, despite that she was slightly upset by being interrupted in the middle of such an intriguing conversation.
As soon as the woman left to get their drinks Mary turned back to Kamron. “I have always been extremely interested in other religions and cultures, I love anthropology. My mother tells me it’s a waste of time, no culture is worth a thing except the wizarding culture. But I disagree, we can all learn a lot from each other; you know?”

The waitress nodded, a pen that was floating in the air by her head jotting down their requests as she walked off towards another table.
The waitress gone, Kamron once again focused his attention on Mary. He nodded in agreement to hers statement.
"I couldn't agree more. Whether everyone chooses to see it or not, all cultures are united if by humanity by nothing else. We all have the same foundation emotions and the same stuggles for existance. I think it is important to learn of societies outside your own, if we do not learn, how can we better our own society?"

“Exactly. I have found studying other religions has helped me establish my own beliefs. I mean I am a Catholic and am not inclined to go back on that but in no way do I agree with everything the church says and does. I feel people should find their own way to God or whatever they believe in. Despite my Catholicism I do enjoy the idea of a nirvana out there; wonderful band by the way. Do you like muggle music? I'm getting off track but the point is that I have established my own beliefs and I personally feel I'm better for it.” Mary said.
As she was speaking she remembered the way her parents had raised her. Part of the reason her mother did not like her studying other societies was because it helped Mary see flaws in her parents beliefs. Her parents tried to convince her that nobody is worth anything if they weren’t pureblood. But Mary’s study of religion led her to study different cultures as well and Mary had found that she didn’t mind muggle culture at all once you got past the boy bands and such.

"I am afriad that my education in muggle culture is rather minimal. I come from a pureblood family, so my only muggle education has been from studies at school, which is good, but bairly scratches the surface of such an intresting group of people. I can hardly imagine getting alone with out the use of magic, but that is simply because I have never had to. Perhaps I will spend a year as a muggle, just as I am told they tend to spend a year abroad."
He smiled at her just before their waitress came over with two steaming mugs and placed them before each youth. Kamron smiled as he looked over at her and said "Thank you" before letting a hand wrap aruond his drink and soaking in its warmth

Molly then walked in another store in searh of a presant for Kamron, Perseus, Nasser, and Justin - all the guys that she currently knew. She walked into a small shop and found that it was a book store. She knew that Perseus was into books, science books to be exact. She found a book entitled The Wonders of the Earth It seemed to be the sort of thing he would like so she bought it. She walked out of the store and into the one next to it. It was a suvinior shop with tons of little gadgets and gizmos. She found a snowglobe that said Weinig Zug on the base of it. Molly picked it up and it started to play music and snow started to fall. It showed the castle that they were staying at. People were walking in and out of the castle, sleighs were being pulled by horses. Since she didn't know exactly what Justin, Kamron, or Nasser wanted so she grabbed three of these and walked around somemore. She spotted a miniture sleigh and horses pulling it. When Molly touched one of the horses it rubbed its soft head on her hand. Molly knew that Jasmine loved horses so she got one of those and headed towards the front desk where she paid for everything.
Molly walked out of the store and into the cold air. She saw a coffe shop that was not to far awayand so she headed over there in search of Mary, Kamron, and Jasmine.
It was warm in the coffe shop and she idmeddiatley spotted Kamron and Mary by the fire and took a seat by them. "Burr it's cold outside, I've been looking all over for you guys. Having a good time? I got you both gifts." she handed Mary a flat box wrapped in Shiny blue paper with snowflakes on it, which was the sweater. She gave Kamron the tall rectangular box with silver wrapping paper and a blue bow on top of it, which was the snow globe. "Hope you both like them"

“Yes my mother is very ashamed of my interest in muggles. ‘You’re disgracing the Evans name reading that you know?’ my mother always says to me. Honestly I don’t get why she is so uptight about all that pureblood stuff. Actually, she would probably disown me if she knew I told anyone that I don’t have a problem with muggles and if she saw my friends that would just be another nail in the coffin. I'm beyond caring though, she is wrong and I'm not going to play her silly little game any longer.”
The drinks than arrived and Mary accepted hers gratefully. She took a sip; it tasted divine. Mary felt much better suddenly now that her caffeine level was back up. Not that her had noticed her discomfort before, she only felt the relief now. How the other students lived on butterbeer and pumpkin juice she would never know.
“But the longest I have ever spent with muggles was that summer school course in sociology, anthropology, and psychology; and even then I went home every afternoon. But it was quite odd. I did not even bring my wand after the first day because I found it so hard to remember to keep it hidden. I felt so weak without it though. Very strange experience indeed, but it was very interesting. I don’t think I could live like that though it would just be too… tiring.”
Just then Molly walked in. “Molly, there you are. Have you seen Jasmine?” Molly then handed them each a gift. “Man if I would have known we were doing the whole gift thing today I would have had all these wrapped.” Mary said while looking through the bags beside her chair. She then removed a candle from one of the bags. It was shaped like a mountain and had little people snowboarding down it so that when the wax dripped it looked like an avalanche. “I wasn’t sure what to get you, but I remembered you mentioning you like snowboarding and everyone needs a vanilla candle right? Happy Holidays!” She said handing it to Molly and smiling at her.

Jasmine walked thorugh a streets and into a coffe shop that her friends might be. As she open the door a blast of warm air hit her and she than rubbed her hands together and noticed Molly, Marry, and Karmon by the fire already talking. She walked over towards them carrying her new pair of riding boots which she went back in the store and bought and the presents in her shoulder bag that lay on her side. She walked overtowards the table and sat down next to Molly and smiled.
"Sorry about that I kind of got lost." Jasmine said turning red and picking up a present from her bag that was a Gryffindor wraped. "Here you go Molly I hope you like it." Jasmine said with a smile on her and hoped that Molly liked the stuffed lab dog and a silver neeklace with a letter of M on it.
Jasmine than serached her bag for Mary present. She handed a Slytheirn wraped one to Mary and smiled brighty and hoped that she liked the book King Aurther that she had got in flourish and plotts and she also got her a silver necklace with the letter M on it.
She than took out the Ravenclaw colored bag and handed it to Karmon with a smile on her face. She hadnt known him for long but it was always like her to think of others. She had gotten him a broom care kit since he played as beater on the reserved team. She pulled back her brown hair and smiled at her friends glad that she was there with them.

Molly excepted the gift gratefully. "You didn't have to get me anything." Molly smiled and looked at the candle, she thought it was so cool. She had never seen anything like it. "Thankyou so much! I love it! It's really cool! You can open mine right now if you want." Molly was glad that people thought about her and took time to buy a gift for her. "I love vinilla scent by the way, it's my favorite sent."
Molly turned around when she heard Jasmine's voice from behind her. Jasmine sat down by her and gave her a Gryffindor wrapped gift. "Can I open it?" askedMolly hopefully, eyeing the package.

Jasmine looked at Molly and smiled slyly, "No you can not open the package I will open it for you." Jasmine said with a teasing smile. "Nah you open it come on come on I dont have all day!" Jasmine said with another one of her teasing smiles. She loved this time of year and it was always nice to give presents away them recieving them.
Jasmine than ntoiced a waitress ask her for her order, "Umm can I just get a butterbear and thats it." Jasmine said with a warm smile and turned to Molly Mary and Karmon and waited for them to open her gifts. She than than picked up her bag with her riding boots in them and smiled. She needed them for pretty soon becuase she was to show when she got back home. She needed all her matierials for the show ring.

The three sat there talking for a while waiting for Jasmine to hopefully show up. “I am so glad you like it Molly I was really at a loss for what to get you when I saw it and it just seemed to scream out ‘Molly’” she said. Mary then heard the telltale tinkering of the bells at the door and looked up to see who had came in. “Jasmine, good. I have been worrying about you. Really you got lost? We should have sent Kamron out he’s great at finding people who are lost.” She said with a playful smile just glad that her friend had found them.
She then took Jasmine’s present out of one of the bags. “Sorry its not wrapped. I just got them today and I didn’t know we would be doing presents so I hadn’t thought to get them wrapped.” She said while handing Jasmine a box containing a Ravenclaw blue tee-shirt and a golden snitch she had gotten at a Quidditch store knowing Jasmine intended to try out for seeker next year. “Merry Christmas!” She said.
Mary then opened her gifts as neurotically as ever. She hated to rip the paper. She started with Kamron’s gift slowly removing the bow and the tape leaving the wrapping paper in perfect condition. She then smiled, laughed, waved back at the little chocolate snowman, and thanked Kamron. Next was Molly’s, it was a very cute sweater that Mary intended to try on at the first opportunity. After thanking Molly she went on to Jasmine’s gift. When she saw the book she simply beamed at Jasmine then got up and gave them each a hug. She put on her new necklace and excused herself to go to the washroom. Once there she put on her new sweater and checked her reflection in the mirror; it looked beautiful. “What do you guys think?” she asked as she modeled it when she returned to the table.

He accepted the girts that the girls gave him, though he had to admit that he was suprised. They had just met, yet that had bought one anohter gifts for the holidays already. Perhaps he had done so as well, but he was sure that they had put more thought into theirs--as he just went by the old belief that to a girl there was little better than chocolate.
"Thank You" he replied gratefully before reaching into his bag and pulling out the matching white boxes with their little gold ribbions and handing them to Jasmine and Molly. Not knowing them well, he had just gotten all three the waving chocolate snowmen he had seen at Rosa Chocolates.
Once his own gifts were passed out he carefully unwrapped his own gifts, starting with the snowglobe, which he focused on for a moment after he had taken it out.
"It is lovley Molly, and now I have something to always remind myself of this trip."
He then moved to Jasmine's, pulling the broom care kit out of the bag he smiled at her.
"Just right for a quidditch fan. I am sure my nimbus needs a good cleaning. Thank you, all of you."
Mary had gone to try on her sweater and when she returned he nodded approvingly.
"I think your friend chose very well. It looks well on you."

“Thank you.” Mary replied when Kamron said that the shirt looked good on her. “Molly did make an excellent choice you are right. So what did everybody else get?” she asked with a smile.
She then took her seat again, continued drinking what was left of her cappuccino, and began reading her new book.

Jasmine than noticed that Karmon handed her a gift. She smiled and open it up with a chocolate snow man. She smiled even more, "Thanks" She said and put the present aside and looked at Mary who was modeling slightly. Jasmine laughed softly at her friend and nodded her head.
"Yes it dose it look nice on you." Jasmine said with a warm smile. She than asked what else they had gotten, "Well I got a new pair of riding boots so I can look nice in the ring." Jasmine said sliding the boots more under her chair. She didnt wont her friends thinking that she cared more about her self than everyone else around her.
"I had already finshed my shopping weeks ago and I saw the boots and it was as if they were screaming at me to buy them." Jasmine said with a smile and taking a book on potions out of her bag and opening it up and started to read. Since Mary was reading her book she could probaly read her own book.

"'Tis the season for giving, one never said you could not give to yourself" he commented in response to Jasmine's statement about the riding boots. She was not the only one in their little group who had bought themself a gift that day.
"I bought myself a book earlier."
He glanced over at Mary who had opened her book and smiled slightly. He guessed that she would have made a good Ravenclaw, but she seemed ot have too much ambition for it. Jasmine also had her eyes on her book, acting as a true Ravenclaw.
