The joys of almost being insane (Annabella)

Danny laughed a little as she told her story about being scared when her mom was mad at her once. “Well she’s gotten mad at me more then once but every time was extremely scary.” Danny said smiling down at her. “But that’s what I get when I wake her up in the middle of the night with my old screaming yo-yo.” He started laughing remember how panicked she was before she figured out it was him and he remembered that he laughed back then too which probably just made her even madder. Then Danny looked down at Annabella when she asked him if he missed his family and smiled. “Well ya I kind of do but I have more then enough of her letters coming everyday to keep me company.” He said laughing as he looked down more of the stairs as they walked.

Danny smiled as he listened to her ideas of where she wanted to hang out and both of them seemed fine with him. He wasn’t really hungry it was just the first place that popped into his head when he thought about going somewhere. “Well both of those places are fine with me. But it’s all up to you my princess.” He said smiling down at her as they walked. “Knights can’t really tell a princess where they can go. We just follow and protect and in my case enjoy every moment of it.” Danny smiled down at her again then looked around and could tell by portrait and what floor they were on that they were somewhere by the charms class room.

He watched as Annabella was about to go down the next stairs they moved on her. Danny grabbed her hand out of instinct it seemed and helped her steady herself then smiled down at her. “I guess you weren’t lying about being clumsy.” He said laughing as he looked down at her.

Annabella smiled as Danny relayed to her about how his, mom had gotten mad at him more then once, and how each time she did was scary. She laughed as he told her of an incident involving a screaming yo-yo. “My god Danny, your mom must have been frightened to death, before she realized it was you. Poor woman.” She then smirked and stuck her tongue out at him. She had to admit to herself that she and Danny were getting along, pretty well for being three years apart. To be honest she thought that there would be mega moments of silence, and the conversation would be choppy. But the silences were rare and the conversation was flowing smoothly. She smiled to herself and looked up at him, as he answered her question about if he missed his family. She smiled and looked down the stairs after he had answered and said “Yeah letters can be comforting, when you miss home. They are nothing compared to the real thing…but still.”

Annabella smiled when Danny had said that, the places she suggested sounded fine to him. And then he started with the princess and knight thing, she smiled and looked up at him and said “Well this princess likes the input from her knights, she would go anywhere he knights suggested, she trusts her knights and values their opinion. She also enjoys the company of her knights as well.” She laughed afterwards and smiled up at him as he smiled down at her. She realized that he was looking around and had most likely figured out where there where as well.

As the stairs moved and she tried to steady herself, she felt Danny grab onto her hand and help her. She blushed brightly and after she had, secured her position she replied “Th..Thanks.” she then looked and watched as the staircase had moved them, in front of a wall. She sighed and then turned to him as he spoke saying that he guessed she wasn’t lying about being clumsy. She laughed a bit with him and then said “Nope I was not lying, so you better run now before my clumsiness rubs off on you.” She smiled and then laughed, and looked up at him.

Danny laughed as he listened to her and watched her stick her tongue out at him which made him laugh even more. “Yea I know she was scared out of her mind but she normally forgives me quickly… sometimes.” Danny said and stuck his tongue out at her after he was done. Danny listened to her talk about letters can be comforting but there was nothing compared to the real thing and Danny smiled and nodded. “Yea that’s true the real thing is must better then letters.” Danny said smiling down at her once again.

He laughed as she talked about princess and knight and when she was done smiled again. “Well I do know of one of the greatest places in the school but I’m saving that place till later. So that maybe I can blow away all the other places you say to go.” Danny said laughing. “Anyway it’s much better to be there at night. Sneaking out and hiding from people adds to the fun when you finally get there.” He said still smiling. Danny then listened as she thanked him for helping her when the stairs had moved on her. Danny noticed he was still holding her hand and let go. “Its no problem I told you I’d keep you safe even if I have to hold your hand which so far looks like that will happen.” He said laughing down at her.

“Also I don’t plan on running away anytime soon I get clumsy too sometimes.” He said as he looked down to where the stairs used to be. “Well we could wait her for it to move back, go the other way or we could just jump down and hope for the best.” He said smiling. “Personally I’m voting the second option.” He laughed and smiled down at her again.

Annabella smiled and then laughed as Danny had, laughed even more after she had stuck her tongue out at him. She continued to walk down the stairs and listened, as he said that his mother is quick to forgive him and then added sometimes. He then stuck his tongue out at her, she smiled and was really glad that they were able, to have so much fun together. She turned her attention back to him when, he had agreed with her about, letters being comforting but they don’t compare to the real thing. He smiled down at her again. She tilted her head a bit and thought to herself Boy he has such a nice smile.

She listened as he laughed and then smiled, after they were through talking about Princesses and Knights. And when the topic turned to places to go, she listened with interest as he said; he knew one of the greatest places in the castle to go to. But he was saving that place for later, that it was much better to go there at night. Sneaking out and hiding from people adds to the fun of the place. She was now curious about where and what this place may be. “So I guess that means we are sneaking out later?” she said in a whisper in case there were any eavesdropping portraits or ghosts around. She smiled and grew excited about the possibility of sneaking out with Danny, as she had never done it before. Come to think of it she had never been, alone with a guy, at night in a strange place before either. She blushed slightly as she thought of this.

She noticed that Danny was still holding her hand, after she had become stable, he must have noticed as well because he looked down, and then let go saying that it was no problem, he would keep her safe even if it meant, holding her hand. And added that so far that has happened. She smiled and nodded. Inside she jumped for joy when he said, that he didn’t plan on running away anytime soon, as he sometimes gets clumsy himself. She laughed and then smiled, looking up at him.

She cursed the stairs a few times, before she turned to Danny and listened to his suggestions, on what they could do. Personally option number two sounded good, to her as well. “Well I agree with you on that one. Staying here for what maybe hours, or jumping down and possibly breaking bones, doesn’t sound to appealing right now.” She laughed afterwards and began to make her way, back the way they had come. She stopped after a few moments and turned, looking at Danny and waited for him to follow.

Danny smiled down at Annabella. ”So what about you, do you miss your family too? From the way you were talking it seemed you did.” Danny said down at her smiling again waiting for her answer. Soon after Danny finished talking about the place he smiled as she whispered asking him if they were sneaking out later. “Well only if you want to.” He said smiling down at her and winked then laughed. She was probably whispering incase someone was listening to them but Danny didn’t because he was pretty sure no one was listening in on them and if they were it was people someone who didn’t care about what they were talking about.

“But trust me its well worth any detention you could possible get. Well maybe besides listening to Mr. filch’s old school stories. Now that’s scary.” He said laughing looking down at her. He knew his was making fun of Mr. filch a lot lately and it would probably end up bad for him sometime in the future. Then Danny listened to what she was saying and noticed that she was going up to find another way and then followed her and then caught up to her. “Yea and then I would have to carry you all around if you broke any bones, which might be fun for awhile.” He said laughing as they walked together. "I could always try and carry you now. Never know when the ground might give way or something." He said laughing. "Pretty much everything else has happened today." Danny added now back to smiling and looking forward.

She smiled and looked forward, “Yeah I do, I miss them even more when I am at home as well, since my parents work all the time its hard to spend time together. And they so rarely get a day off or vacation.” She turned to look at Danny and smiled again. “So I guess you could say I do, cherish any owls I get from them.” She kept smiling and turned forward again. She listened as he answered her question about sneaking out, saying that only if she wanted to. He then smiled, winked and laughed. She shook her head and laughed as well, as he continued saying that it would be worth getting detention for. She was about to reply to him when he added, a comment about Filch’s old school stories and how they were, scary. She laughed and nodded.

“Well I’m up for it; I don’t mind I’m a little curious now as to what, this place could be. You’re speaking so highly of it.” She said as she smiled and looked over at him. “I’m sure we won’t get caught if we are careful.” She added. After Danny had caught up to her, she began to walk again but stopped when he began to reply to her about their options at the moment. Saying that if she broke any bones that he would, have to carry her around. She blushed and laughed a bit, she blushed even more after he said that he could, try and carry her now as you never know when the ground might, give away. She bit her lip and wondered if he was serious or just making a joke. She decided to test him out to see.

“Alright, carry me then. Now that you mentioned it the stairs and ground feel a little, unstable to me. That is unless your not strong enough?” she said and smirked a bit and tried so hard, not to laugh. She knew he would most likely say he was joking, as what sixth year student would like to be caught carrying around a third year.

Danny listened to her as she explained why she was home sick and feel a little bad that her family had to work and didn’t get much time off. “Well if you ever get lonely or anything you can always send me and owl or something during summer or whenever.” He said smiling down at her. “Or we could meet up somewhere during summer.” He added now looking forward to where they were going. “Normally my summers are really boring so you would be helping me out a lot.” Danny said smiling down at her again.

He smiled again as he listened to her talk about sneaking out and she was sure that they wouldn’t be caught if they were careful. “I like a girl with a little wild side in her.” He said smiling as she was done talking about them sneaking out. “Trust me it’s going to be awesome and I rarely use the word awesome for anything.” He said laughing. Then Danny noticed that Annabella had stopped walking after he met his comment about carrying her. He thought he might have said something wrong till she started talking again. Then Danny laughed as she told him to carry her because she felt that the ground was a little unstable. “Now that sounds like a challenge. Well you’re on princess.” He said smiling down at her.

Danny then picked her up and held her up with one arm under her legs and one behind her back. “I guess I win that don’t I? He said laughing and then smiling down at her. “Well shall I put you down or just keep walking like this?” He asked her smiling down at her still.

Annabella smiled brightly when Danny had, told her that if she ever got lonely over the summer, she could owl him or they could meet up and hang out. “That sounds like fun Danny, and I’m sure I will take you up on that offer, so be prepared to receive lots of owls.” She smiled up at him and laughed a bit. She was very happy that Danny had made that suggestion; she now had something to look forward to for the summer. Even though summer was months away. She still grew excited att he prospect of spending her summer with Danny.

Annabella smiled when Danny said, that he liked girls with a little wild side to them. He then said to trust him that it was going to be awesome. He then added that he never used the word awesome for anything. “Well it sounds like its going to be fun, and I can’t wait, so what is this place? Is it well known or is it like a secret place for you?” she asked as she smiled up at him and then looked forward again.

Annabella was taken by surprise when Danny, had said her comment sounded like a challenge and that she was on. He then proceeded to pick her up, one hand around her back and the other hand under her legs. She blushed brightly as she, was held in his arms. He then smiled down at her and, commented that he had won that round. He then asked if he should put her down or keep carrying her. She had to think about for a minute, and then looked up at him and smirked saying “To my chariot my brave and loyal knight, it is now your duty to carry me the rest of the way, keeping me safe from any harm.” She giggled a bit as she loosely wrapped her arms around his neck. “And that includes gravity as well.” She smiled up at him.

Danny laughed as she told him to be prepared for a lot of owls she was going to be sent. “Trust me there is no way you can send more letters then my mom so I’ll be fine.” He said smiling down at her then listened to her as she asked him more about the place he was talking about going later. Danny thought for a second to himself. “Well it used to be popular a few years ago but not many people go there anymore.” He said as he looked down at her. “I actually over heard someone last year talking about it and that’s when I went to look for it and found it.” He said laughing. “It only toke a few sleepless nights and a getting caught once.” He added still laughing.

Danny smiled as he held her and laughed as she talked again as him being a knight. “Great I guess I’ve been demoted from knight to chariot.” He said looking down then smiled even more as she put her arms around his neck. “Well I guess this is what I get for offering.” Danny said laughing and started walking again. “Now don’t fall asleep on me or anything it might look like I kidnapped you or something if you do.” He said looking down at her and still walking. “I wonder if there’s a rule about carrying people in school.” He thought to himself laughing a little. “Also I still want that reward so no sleeping.” He said laughing as he remembered about that.

Annabella laughed as Danny, said that she couldn’t possible send him as many letters as his mom did. Which was probably true, his mother probably sent him loads. She listened as he told her how he came, across this place they would be going to. “Wow a few sleepless nights and getting caught once, I guess by the way your speaking so highly about it, it worth it. I can’t wait to see it.” She said as she smiled and then laughed a bit. Boy was she ever curious about this place, she hoped it was as wonderful as he, was making it out to be. Well I guess I will find out later she thought to herself.

She relaxed in his arms as he, smiled and commented that he had been demoted from knight to chariot, and then when she had put her arms, around his neck he said he guessed that’s what he got for offering. She didn’t think he minded though by the smile on his face. “Well only until we get to our destination, and then you shall become a knight once more. And yes this is what you get, for offering.” She smiled and then laughed a bit as he began walking again. She giggled at his comment about not falling asleep, and how it would look like, he was kidnapping her, and then added he still wanted the reward, he was promised so no sleeping.

Annabella smirked and faked a yawn and laid her head down on his shoulder, laughing a bit and saying “Oh but I’m so sleepy, maybe just a few minutes of rest.” She giggled at her joke, and sighed quietly.

"Also you don't have to wait till summer to send an owl or anything. I could use another reason to not do my homework." He said laughing then listened to her talk about how she was looking forward to later. “Yea I’m looking forward to it too.” He said smiling down at her again. He though about how today had gone so far. In the beginning there was class which it was the first day of it so it was just review on stuff he already knew. Now he was carrying around a girl that was lost, he laughed a little to himself. “A very cute and nice one at that.” He muttered out loud then started to think of something to hide that.” Umm… I mean a very cute… um portrait.” He said laughing a little embarrassed. “Keep your big mouth shut!” He thought to himself.

He laughed again listening to her talk about him being demoted and he only had to carry her till they got till they were going. “Well I guess I’ll just have to be the best chariot I can be.” He said smiling down at her and watched as she yawned which he guessed was probably fake and then she talked about falling asleep. “Well I never could say no to a beautiful girl but if you fall asleep just don’t be mad at the way I wake you up.” He said smiling down at her again and still walking. “I could throw you up in the air or something or wake you up like sleeping beauty was.” He said still smiling down at her.

Annabella smiled and then, giggled a bit when Danny had said that she didn’t have, to wait until summer to send any owls to him, as he could always use another reason not to do his homework. She smiled again and said “Well I’ll keep that in mind, the next time I’m bored or bored with homework myself, I’ll owl you and them maybe we can cure each other’s boredom.” She turned to look at him and smiled. As Danny kept walking she thought she heard him muttered something, out loud. They only words she could make out were cute and nice. She then laughed a bit and covered her mouth, when he said he meant a very cute portrait. Clearly he was a little embarrassed about his slip up, so Annabella just smiled a bit and looked forward and didn’t mention anything. Does this mean…he thinks I’m cute?

As she laid her head down, she listened as he responded to her comment about him being a chariot, and how he guessed he would have to be, the best chariot until they got to their destination. She smiled and nodded. Unfortunately the motion of his walking was really making her sleepy, as it had been a rather long day. With all the classes and homework being given out. Her eyes started to close slowly as she listened, to him say that he could never say no, to a beautiful girl but not to get mad at the way he woke her up, should she fall asleep. She smiled and laughed a bit and looked up at him, and said “Don’t worry I wouldn’t do that.” She then turned and laughed into his shoulder, as he listed off two ways he could wake her up. Either by throwing her up in the air, or wake her up like sleeping beauty had been woken up.

She blushed a bit and then smiled up at him, she then gave a real yawn covering her mouth and laying her head back down, snuggling in a bit and muttering “Personally I opt for number two.” She hadn’t meant to say that out loud, and didn’t realize she had, as she was too tired to. She was getting real comfortable around him, real fast.

Danny smiled as she replied to his comment about sending an owl anytime to help him not do homework. “Ok well in that case I’ll be waiting.” He said smiling down at her. After he tried to cover up his slip up with what had to be the worst lie in the world he was kind of glad that she didn’t figure it out but he doubted anyone in the world would have bought that poor excuse but he still hoped that she did. Danny smiled as he looked down at her and it began to look like she was really going to fall asleep but it was alright with him if she did.

Danny listened to her as she said that she wouldn’t get mad if he woke her up and smiled again. Then after he named the ways he could wake her up he could kind of see her blush which made him laugh a little then she yawned which he guessed was probably real this time. Then she said she would rather have the second option of the ways he could wake her up which made Danny blush a littlie for some reason. “That was my personally favorite too.” He said smiling looking down at her. “Well fall asleep then princess if you want to just please try not to drool.” He said laughing a little looking forward then smiling down at her. "and sweet dreams." He added laughing.

Annabella smiled as Danny, said that he would be waiting for her owls. She felt really happy that the two of them, were getting along so well, and that they were able to joke around about things, and not get mad or take offence at what was said. It felt like they had known each other forever, the way things were going. And to her this was a very good sign. Good signs usually meant good things. She cracked an eye open to look up at him, after she had said that she opted for option two, and saw that he had a tiny blush, and then said that, that option was his favorite.

She smiled and blushed a little, and closed her eye again and listened as he said, for her to fall asleep then, but please don’t drool. She couldn’t help but to burst out laughing at that, She opened her eyes, and raised her head up and looked up at him and smiled “Well I can try but, I’m not promising anything.” She then laughed and stuck her tongue out at him, and laid her head done once more. She heard him say sweet dreams, and smiled.

She began to wonder what time it was actually; it must be getting close to dinner time. As she was feeling a bit hungry, Maybe when they got down to the lower level, they could check out the great hall, and if dinner was over they could, go down to the kitchen, to grab a bite to eat. Well she would mention it to him, when they got further down.

Danny laughed as she said she would try not to drool but she could make any promises. “Well as long as you try.” He said smiling down at her then laughed as she stuck out her tongue and he stuck his back out at her. “That’s bad manners for a princess you know.” He said laughing then smiled as she laid her head back down. Something about her just made him smile as he looked down at her. Probably just the fact that she might fall sleep at anytime or something. Danny smiled as he kept walking waiting for the next stairs that went down to show up which should be close by but with a magic castle nothing is always where it should be. He kept looking down to from time to time smiling wondering if she was asleep or not.

Danny never really had someone fall asleep in his arms so it was pretty new to walk and know someone could wake up, if they were asleep, if he tripped or something. He also found it odd as he smiled down at her that she would be so trusting. They had just met and she seemed so comfortable. Danny finally gave up wondering after a few minutes. “You asleep yet?” He whispered just loud enough for someone that was awake to hear him but not loud enough to wake up someone if they were asleep. After he asked it he thought it would seem like a completely stupid question to the person being asked it but he couldn’t help wondering.

She laughed after he had said that sticking out your tongue is bad manners for a princess. “Bad manners for a knight as well.” She replied back after she had seen him smile and stick his tongue out at her. She felt him look down at her from time to time, as he continued to walk to their destination, most likely checking to see if she was sleeping or not. She wondered how far they were, from the entrance hall. It seemed like they had been walking for hours.

A little while later she heard him ask if she was asleep, she wasn’t really sleeping. She just had her eyes closed. She debated on weather or not to answer him or just let him think she was sleeping. She decided to let him think she was sleeping, for just a little while longer, as she was comfortable and really relaxed. But then on the other hand, Danny could be getting tired of carrying her, and she was probably heavy for him. She bit her lip and decided to be nice, “Nope I’m not asleep…you can put me down if you want now. I’m probably too heavy for you.” She said as she smiled up at him.

“How would you know it’s bad manners for a knight they normally have there helmets on. They could be making funny face all the time to the royalty.” He said laughing looking down at her. “Anyway It was in a past life so I can have a little leeway with manners. You can’t because your still a princess.” He added still laughing and looking down at her. Danny looked forward again but still no more stairs. He was starting to think this castle had him walking in circles or maybe just carrying her made the trip seem longer but he didn’t really mind he thought as he smiled down at her again. Danny started to think she really had fallen asleep with how she didn’t answer him.

Then she opened her eyes and Danny smiled again. She said she was awake and he could put her down if her wanted to then Danny laughed a little. “O darn and here I was hoping you were asleep so I could wake you up.” He said as he laughed looking down at her then looking forward and saw the next group of stairs that went down and if they followed these ones down to the ground floor the great hall should be very close. “Don’t worry I’m fine, I’m actually enjoying it.” He said smiling down at her. “Anyway where almost to the ground floor then you walk from there.” He added laughing.

“So did you fall asleep at all? If so you have any good dream?” He asked smiling and looking forward. “anything about my?” He added meaning it as a joke. Danny then looked forward and they were finally at the starts so as he carried her he started to make his way down making sure none were about to move on them.

Annabella smiled and listened as Danny said that, she wouldn’t know its bad manners for a knight, as they have helmets on and for all she knows they could be making faces at the royalty all the time. Then saying he could have a little leeway because it was in a past life he was a knight. But she couldn’t because she was still, a princess. She blushed at that statement and then, had an image flash in her mind of her all dressed like a princess, and Danny all dressed as a knight. Her sitting on a throne and him standing beside her, making faces under his helmet. She bursted out laughing, hiding her face in his chest. A few moments later she calmed down and said “Yeah I suppose that’s true…so I guess I’ll give you that leeway then.” She smiled up at him.

As she laid with her eyes closed, pretending to be asleep, she felt them still walking and thinking that the trip, was taking longer then it should. She then dismissed it as, the castle either playing tricks on them or Danny had grown tired of carrying her and had slowed down. After she had opened her eyes, and voiced her concerns, Danny had laughed a little saying darn, that he was hoping she was asleep so that, he could wake her up. She laughed a bit and said “I bet you were too. Waiting for the opportunity to…throw me in the air maybe? Trip accidentally?” she laughed abit knowing that, Danny would never intentionally trip, with her in his arms. Or at least she thought so. She then listened as he said he was fine, with carrying her and that she could walk once they get down, to the ground floor. She nodded and leaned her head back down.

Annabella raised her eyebrow when Danny had asked, if she had slept and had any good dreams about him. Smiling and looking forward afterwards, she laughed and said “Oh yeah….really good dream, just before I woke up. But I’m not going to tell you about it. I don’t think your innocent ears could handle it.” She then laughed and looked forward as Danny began to walk down, the final stairs. She hoped that they wouldn’t start moving, because any little jerk would, most likely send her flying out of his arms. She then got an evil smirk on her face, and leaned in close to his ear and whispered “Your ears are innocent right?” she leaned back with a giggle, and waited to see his reaction.

Danny laughed a little with her as she started laughing. He didn’t really know why it just seemed like her laugh was contagious or something to him. Danny was really glad he ran into Annabella today this was definitely the most fun he had since he had gotten back to Hogwarts and was probably way better then anytime during the summer. Then she smiled as she said she would give him that leeway. “Good you better have or I might have lost my grip or something.” He said laughing then smiled down at her. “Nah I could never drop someone as cute as you.” He said smiling down at her. It was odd now that Danny thought about it. Sometimes he would get embarrassed when he said something like that and other times he would be just fine. It didn’t make much sense to him but he didn’t really care right now about that.

“Well that wasn’t really the way I had in mind for waking you up but if you would rather hit the ground I’ll keep that in mind.” He said laughing as he looked down at her. Then he listened to he answer her question about having a good dream and if it was about him. “Oh really?” He said smiling down at her then looking forward down the stairs as they went down. Then she leaned up to him and whispered asking him if his ears were innocent. Danny blushed a little because of her whispering in his ear, it just seemed to make him blush when she did that. “Well it depends on how you define innocent?” He said smiling down at her. “But just tell me and we’ll find out what happens.” He added laughing and looking down at her then at the stairs as they went down to the charms floor again.

Danny had begun to laugh with her, when she bursted out laughing after she had had that thought. She stopped laughing for a minute, and tilted her head a bit and watched him as he smiled and laughed, thinking that he was rather cute whenever he smiled or laughed. She shook her head and rolled her eyes, when he had said that, she better have given him that leeway, or else he could have lost his grip. He then added that he could never drop anybody as cute as her. She blushed at that comment, and tried to come up with a reply but she couldn’t. So she settled for sticking her tongue out again, and then laughed.

She raised her eyebrow when he said, that wasn’t the way he planned to wake her up, but if she wanted to hit the ground he would keep that in mind. She laughed and smiled up at him and said “Oh really? Well then I guess I have to think twice about giving you that reward then hmm?” she smiled and then looked forward to see where they were. She turned back to him when he began to answer her about, what she had said about the dream; all he said was oh really, smiled at her and then looked forward down the stairs. His next reaction to her whispering had a little more to it, then just two words.

She looked around to discover that they were on the Charms floor again; the third floor so two more levels and then they would be to the bottom, as she listened to his questions. She smiled and tried to think of something to tell him, as she never really had gone to sleep, so therefore she never had a dream but she couldn’t pass up the chance to tease him. “Alright I’ll tell you.” She leaned up to whisper in his ear again, “Well me and you were walking down by the lake, and it was a nice breezy night. We stopped and you looked at me, and walked a little closer to me. And then you started to lean down, and then………….” She left it off there and leaned back and smiled at him. She was going to say that he kissed her, but she thought it was much more mysterious this way. Besides that would never happen……only in my dreams she thought
