Maddie strolled around the halls, looking out the window every now and then. It was raining, you know, a Summer shower, but it was coming down quite hard. Maddie smiled a bit, she loved thunder storms. Although it was quite fun to watch, she'd much rather be outside, with fresh air, and plenty of space to relax. Anyhow, it was raining, and there wasn't much that anybody could do about it. Maddie decided to go to the student lounge first, to see how crowded it was. Most likely, it would be packed with tons of students, searching for something to do as well. When Maddie reached the lounge, she raised her eyebrows, when she saw that it wasn't much crowded at all. She walked over to her favorite table, that was mostly always empty. It was right next to the window. Perfect, so she could look outside easily and see the rain pouring down. She sat at the table, and took out her notebook, that was filled with doodles, poems, journal entries, and songs that she had written herself. A couple of nights ago, Maddie had seen Mack perform in a club at Diagon Alley. Anyway, watching her had gotten Maddie back into singing. She had always been very into singing and dancing, ever since she was a child. She wasn't good at playing any instruments, she just sung and wrote. She took out her favorite quill, and began writing a little. Looking at the rain, gave her more inspiration for some reason. ((OK, well... I decided to show some more of Maddie's musical talents. If you look in her bio, you'll see that she was very talented at singing. )

Emily was walking down the hall when she saw a girl sitting at a table writing. She looked more closely and relized she was a Slytherin. "Oh great." She said to herself. She sort of sneered at the site of a Slytherin. Emily did not like them at all. Emily kept walking.
She found a window and walked over to it. She put her arms on the window sill and looked out. She saw a lightning strike and then sort of jumped. She hated thunder storms. Emily watched as the wind blew the trees and grass. Thunder was rumbling very loud. She liked thunder but not lightning.
It was about one in the afternoon. Emily again looked at the Slytherin girl. She decided to go say hello anyways. So she walked over to her. "Hello, I'm Emily Zhender." She said a little nervous. She didn't know what to expect from her.
She stood at the side of the table sort of glancing in her journal.

Maddie looked up to see a girl, that was a Gryffindor, that Maddie could see by her robes, standing over her. The girl introduced herself as Emily Zhender. Maddie also saw the girl glancing at her notebook, and Maddie sighed as she out it back into her bag.
She looked back up at the girl. Maddie felt that she should introduce herself as well, even if this girl was a Gryffindor. At least, the girl would have something to remember her by. "Madison Kenacheak. Third year, Slytherin." she said, not even taking a small glance at the girl, or extending her hand, like she regularly did when she met fellow Slytherins.
She looked back down at the table, to see what the girl would do next, but Maddie decided to speak up instead. "Umm... excuse me... but, why would you, a Gryffindor, be talking to me, a Slytherin." she asked smugly. She actually was quite curious. Most Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaws, and Gryffindor didn't normally bother her, but this one was different, as if wanting to be her friend. Well, Maddie was definatly not going to be friends with another house again. She had done it once, but found the girl to be way too goody-two-shoes for Maddie.

"I just wanted to make a new friend." "I'm different then the others." "I really don't care what house anyones from." Emily noticed that the Madison wasn't interested. Emily sighed then was about to walk away, when then she had an idea. "Slytherin does seem kind of cool but way off my taste." "The people are just..." She stopped in mid sentence.
"Well anyways, I don't care what you think about us Gryffindors." "We are very knowledgeble as well as nice." Emily felt good about what she was saying. She took a seat across from Madison knowing it would probably annoy her. "So, I hear that you're a third year." "Being a third year is better than being a second year." Emily said with ease. Emily sort of liked how Slytherins acted. Although she loved Gryffindor.
Emily watched the girl as she wrote in her notbook.

Maddie raised her eyebrows, when Emily said that she just wanted to make a new friend. "Well, if you're trying to do that," started Maddie, not really looking at the girl. "Then you best look elsewhere. And, if you think Slytherin is cool, then you go share that with one of your other muggle lover friends. Besides, you couldn't get into Slytherin if you're life depended on it."
The girl then sat across from Maddie, and Maddie then really started to get annoyed. Then, to top it all off, the girl started talking about how third year is better than second. Maddie raised her eyebrows at the girl and said, "Well, I don't really care what your opion on years are, but if you're just going to sit there and talk about crap, then you're really not worth my time." she said simply. This girl was really starting to get on Maddie's nerves.

"Fine, I'll look elswhere but not right now." Emily got up and went to look out the window. It was still raining. Not as hard but it was still thundering and lightning. Emily walked back over to Madison. Emily saw a few other students walking down the hall. "For your information, I don't talk about crap."
"I'm sure I could get into Slytherin." Emily began getting angry about how this girl was talking to her. "I really don't appreciate you talking about muggles that way for my dad is one." "You may be a pureblood but that doesn't mean your better then everyone else." "I've known many purebloods, and they all think they're better then everyone else. But the only reason they're mean is because, well, because they are!"
Emily loved her father even if he were a muggle. She hated it when people made fun of them. Emily felt like blowing up right now.

The girl then began rambling on about all these other subjects. The girl said that she didn't talk about crap, and that she could get into Slytherin, although, Maddie begged to differ. "No, actually, you couldn't get into Slytherin if your life depended on it, because you are a halfblood. And yes, purebloods, are better than you and your filthy little family and friends. The reason why purebloods are 'mean' is because your sort always annoy the hell out of us because your always trying to prove that you are better than us, or just as good! Well, your wrong. You people don't even deserve to be the dirt, us Slytherins walk upon."
((Sorry for the shortness.))

God! Why does it have to rain everytime I'm about to go flying, thought Cassie to herself as she left the common room solemnly. She had been trying to get outside for weeks, but everytime she did she was stopped by homework, friends, or a myriad of other things that occupied her attention. Carrying her broomstick in her left hand, she decided to head to the Lounge to wait until the weather cleared up. Watching several students run through the hallways with muddy shoes and wet raincoats, she smiled to herself as she pictured Filch scrubbing the floor. She couldn't help but feel sorry for him a little. She had heard a rumor that he was a squib, and did believe it. I mean, how pathetic would that be? Being born to a wizarding family but having no magical abilities would be bad enough, but to have to clean up after magical children as a job would be just excruciating.
Opening the door to the student lounge, she noticed it was empty except for Madison Kenacheak, a Slytherin she had run into before, and Emily Zhender, a Gryffindor in her dormitory. Madison was currently telling Emily how she would never of been able to get into Slytherin since she was a halfblood. " You're right she couldn't get into Slytherin if she tried. Nobody can stoop that low on purpose - some are just born that way. Besides, I have it on the record that not all Slytherins are purebloods. Think about that." Cass gave Madison a very hard look, just daring her to come back with something. Cass had never liked Maddie. She was a stuck up, power hungry snob that would never amount to anything in her life. Like most pureblood girls, her only ambition was too make a respectable pureblood marriage and to have children.
Putting her hand on Emily's shoulder, she looked at her dormmate. " I wouldn't worry about her, Em. You don't want to be a Slytherin anyway. A lion can take care of a snake anyday."

"Your right. I don't belong in Slytherin." "I'm better than that." "How dare you talk about my family like that." "They are not filthy. Unlike some I've known." Emily sneered at Madison.
Emily wanted to walk away so bad, but didn't. She felt the need to defend her family. "My family comes from a long line of fine wizarding." "My mom was a seeker." "You have no right to say that about my family or friends." Emily said as she moved forward to Madison.

Maddie sighed when another girl came upon the two, Cassandra Logton. All Maddie wanted to do, was finish writing her song, so she could be ready. And what does she get instead? Two, Gryffindor, muggle loving freaks, to bother her! "For your information Logton, Zhender was saying that she could get into Slytherin. And, as you pointed out so very obviously, she couldn't." Maddie laughed slightly when the girl tried to sneer. "If your family comes from a long line of fine wizards, Zhender, then why are they halfbloods... hmm? I don't care what bloody postsion your mother was on the Quidditch Team. One more thing, yes, I do have the right to talk about you and your family and friends that way, because there is no law saying anything against it." she said simply, proving her point. ((Emily, just a helpful hint that someone told me once, to improve your role playing: Do what the person before you does, and try to make it into a story! )

Her studies finished for the night, Mack was bored. She lay on her bed, her head over the edge, and her red hair falling on the floor. She sighed and flipped backwards, sitting on the floor and thinking about something at least semi-entertaining to do. Might as well go to the student lounge.. Mack stood up and left the dormitories, went through the common room, and up three flights of stairs. Students were walking around, talking and laughing. It bothered Mack some, but not as much as it used to.
She entered the Student Lounge and looked around- looking for someone worthy of her time. She saw a few people gathered together, and nodded with content before heading over to Cass, Maddie, and some other girl she didn't know. Mack stood by Cass and listened at Maddi insult the other girl. She crossed her arms and said, "Do you always insult someone who can be better than you in different ways, Maddie?"

Emily was relieved to see that Cassandra had come in. "You know Cassandra, you're right. I lion could take care of a snake any day." Emily sort of gave a happy but then yet snobby smile to Madison. "I actually wouldn't belong in Slytherin as I said before." "You know why? Because I have much better friends and a better personality than Slytherins." " Most Slytherins are hateful snobs."
"My dad may be a muggle, but that's not what I meant." "My moms side comes from a long line of great Wizards and Witches." "Why would I want to be in Slytherin?" Emily was glad to have a helping hand by her side as well as a loyal friend. Emily smiled at Cassandra. Then she looked back at Madison. She noticed Madison had giggled when she was sneering. "uhh." She said in a hushed tone.

Maddie saw Mack walk over and was a bit suprised (although she didn't let it show), when Mack had asked her if she always insulted someone who could be better than her. She was a Slytherin, of course she did. "Uhh... whatever..." she said getting really frusterated. "I'm insulting her, bacause she is insulting me, and our sort. Besides, aren't Slytherins suppose to hate other houses?" she asked with a slightly raised eyebrow.
"You," she said turning back to the girl. "Would you please stop talking about how you wouldn't want to be in Slytherin?" she asked. "We all know that, because you've stated that a million times already! I don't know about any one else, but I don't care." she said. She wasn't saying this is an insulting way at all actually, just a slightly annoyed one. She was getting very close to getting up and walking away, because this was just simply wasting her time.

Cass smiled inwardly as Maddie looked confused as Mack backed her up. Didn't she understand that Cass had a lot of friends in Slytherin house? In fact, Cass became infamous this school year for having a number of friends in Slytherin house. " Madison, you started this fight. I was insulting you because you were being insulting to us. Now, if you can't take your own medicine, I suggest you shut up. At least come up with more witty answers to our insults. Your thinking so slowly I can actually hear the wheels in your head squeak."
Yawning lazily, Cassie was getting truly annoyed. She was glad that Mack had backed her up. Even though many of her friends from the rival house were very close with her, she wondered if they would back her up in a tense situation. Mack had been one of the few that had. " I really wish you had given me a real chance to use my mental reflexes. Usually a match of insults with a Slytherin is more thought consuming than this. With you, I dont' even have to try."

"As Slytherins are supposed to 'hate' other houses, that doesn't mean we are supposed to insult them every chance we get. And don't even consider yourself part of 'our sort.' Better Slytherins don't lower themselves to insult someone who isn't worth insulting. Already you insulted a Ravenclaw for her music, and now a Gryffindor for no reason? Please, Maddie, that isn't what a Slytherin is. Being a Slytherin isn't insulting those who are weaker than you, being a Slytherin is living and not giving those who are aren't worth it the time of day. Don't higher yourself to standards that are marked for those worthy, you'll only be fooling yourself. As far as I'm concerned- this girl is probably better than you are, because she knows her place and she doesn't interfere with those who are unworthy- no matter which house she is in." Mack snapped with anger and frustration. Maddie just didn't learn. Insulting someone didn't prove you worthy of Slytherin, it just made you lower if anything. Mack took a seat in an empty armchair and lounged while smirking at Maddie.

"Fine." "I don't know why I even started talking to you." The rain was beginning to calm down. It was still thindering a little. Then all of the sudden a big clash of thunder came. Emily jumped a little bit. Then looked at Cassandra then Madison then Mackenzie.
Madison had sounded like she was getting annoyed. "Sorry to bother you." She said in a hateful way. She turned aroud then turned back to face Madison. She started walking a little bit more closer to her. She was going to say something but had forgotten. "You don't have to be all smug."
Emily said as she was walking back a little to have breathing room.

Mack listened to Mack talk, and watched her smirk at her for a bit. "Fine." she said, holding up her hands to the side. Maddie often found herself wondering how to act and where exactly she belonged. She had once been one of those softie Slytherins, and had no inttention to going back, to disgrace her family name, or her house. She decided to take Mack's word for it, however, and just leave it at that.
"No, we don't all have to be smug, I agree." she said to the other girl, in almost a nice way. "Although, most are." She then turned to the last of the four girls. "And Logton, I never insulted you." Maddie didn't have anything else to say at the time. She was getting very frusterated and almost confused, and she couldn't take much more.

Emily was surprised to see and hear Madison actually agreeing with her for once. "Thankyou for agreeing with me." She said in a nice warm loving way. "Now, maybe we can just go our ways or we can sit here and talk." Emily really didn't know what to say. What she really meant by talk was argue and bicker at eachother on and off, back and fourth however you wanted to say it. Emily sort of flashed a smile at Madison.
She was getting happier that she had some other people with her. Not saying that they all of the sudden had become friends but you know. Cassandra and Mackenzie seemed really nice. Emily smiled at them. Then turned to face Madison. "So um.." Emily was completley blank in her mind.

Maddie raised her eyebrows when Zhender said thank you for agreeing with her. Maddie nodded her head in awknoweldgement, and said, "Yes, it actually would be nice to have a nice chat." Maddie knew that Zhender was probably being sarcastic when she had said that, but Maddie didn't mind. She actually would like a nice chat with someone. It was at least something to do. Although, Maddie hoped that the girl didn't execpt to become friends with her.
((Again, sorry for the shortness.))

Cass sighed dramatically. She was quite tired of all the drama between Slytherins and Gryffindors. The old adage entered her head, Can't we all just get along...Cass put her broom on the oak table that was in the room and pulled out her wand. Deciding to practice summoning charms, she pointed her wand at a set of books that lined a bookshelf. " Accio," one the large books flew through the air towards her. She placed it on the table beside her broom after she caught it. " You know, sometimes I wished I paid more attention in charms. I've never quite gotten the summoning charm right." Pointing at another book, she said the incantation and it began to head in her direction. Unfortunately, instead of it coming towards her, it stopped in mid-air and landed with a thud on the ground.
Cass laughed at her own failure. She scratched the side of her head with her wand tip. Opening the book that had flown to her, she saw that it was the DADA textbook. She smiled inwardly. She was currently skipping that class, and now suddenly wished that she had went since she couldn't go flying. Frowning at the rain splattered window, she swore she heard loud voices in the hallway. Probably that DADA class that I skipped. She knew that the classroom was just up the hall, and sometimes they did get pretty raucous in there. " God, I wonder what is going on up there?" She addressed the group. " It seems like they are having a lot of fun up there."
Cass put her hands on the table in front of her and scrutinized the book in front of her. Looking over at Mack, " Hey Mack. Lookey here." She pointed to a spell that removed curses. Laughing quietly, she whispered to Mack. " Too bad it won't get rid of all curses." She pointed to Maddie.
