"Yes!!" Words escaped August's lips before he could stop them. Theo had just scored and August had been a major factor in it. There was a tense moment when he thought that the goal would mean nothing as it was announced that Melody had seen the Snitch and was chasing after it. She and Sandy had failed to catch it though and thus the game continued. Cass had possession of the Quaffle but she swiftly released it for one of her Chasers to catch. It didn't matter where it was going, where it ended was going to be August's arms.

Yes! Theo scored again! Celia couldn't be happier right now, and just hoped that Sandy would catch the snitch first in the mad chase that was going on between the seekers right now. As for the bludgers, there was one heading towards Melody it seemed, whom Zoey was trying to defend by the look of things but the other one was free. Cass now had the quaffle, and it looked as if she was once again going to pass over to Scott, so she decided to hit it towards him again. She considered hitting it at the Gryffindor seeker once the switch was complete (she assumed that Cass was once again switching her team around for some reason), but surely that switch would put the Gryffindors at a disadvantage?

Zoey winced at the impact of Edward's bat. "Ouch.." she whispered to herself, gripping her ribs where the bat his her. She inhaled and a sharp, but not totally over powering pain came. She could tell there wasn't anything more than maybe a huge bruise or slightly cracked rib. She looked up and saw that she had successfully defended Melody and she smiled a bit, but then frowned as she saw Theo scored again, and there was another Bludger coming. "Ugh..Ah!" she said, holding her rib. She breathed in again and the pain was starting to dull a bit.She swung, and then looked at Cass, confused, as she switched the team up again. "Back to Chaser..." She frowned. She saw August was attempting to intercept and she raced to him. Mikayla didn't know whether to be frustrated with Melody over not catching the snitch or frustrated with Cassie for once again switching up the line. This game was going to be the death of her it seemed, but at least she was having a good time. As long as that Ravenclaw beater's bat didn't come anywhere near her. Mikayla took off as she watched Cass attempt to pass to Scott. That Ravenclaw chaser, though, seemed to be ready to intercept. Mikayla just hoped Melody did something to stop him or she would.

20-0! Theo felt a rush of joy and adrenaline surge through him as the Quaffle passed Cassandra rather than Oscar this time; and because it was that, there was no doubt that it was a sweeter victory. Gripping his broom tightly in anticipation of Cassandra's pass, Theo maneouvred his broom backwards. He was going to block Scott, but he saw August had that covered. Instead, Theo flew towards Zoey, who had just been put back into Chaser after yet another line-up change from Cassandra. Gods, what was she doing? Still, Theo flashed Oscar a smile as the Gryffindor Vice kicked back into the air to rejoin the team as Keeper. The competition went up a notch, but Theo was having twice the thrill.

Trinity was about to whack a Bludger Theo's way (goddammit, he'd scored again!), but suddenly more substitutions on Gryffindor's behalf halted the game progress. Trinity almost felt embarrassed on her house and team's behalf. Well, at least everyone got to play now, right? She watched Julius Lionheart, a Seventh Year, join them on the pitch. Trinity found herself pushed (metaphorically) back into the Seeker position; Melody went to the bench. A slight frown flittered across Trinity's brow, but she quickly brushed it aside in order to focus on the game. The pressure was back on, double this time, since the Snitch had already been seen; now was the time to make her impact.

((There have been changes in the Gryffindor line-up (cue another Hooch dirty look at Cassandra!):
Rosaliz Hernandez G5 is subbed out as Chaser; Melody Bang-Bala G3 is subbed out as Seeker; Zoey Shay G3 moves from Beater to Chaser; Trinity Bleu G5 moves from Beater to Seeker; Cassandra Fallon G7 moves from Keeper to Beater; Julius Lionheart G7 joins the match as Beater; Oscar Flynn G6 joins the match as Keeper.
(See the updated current line-up on the first page of this match if that confused you!)
Please note that Celia's deflected Bludger at Melody will now be void since she has been substituted out.
Zoey, since you have been switched into the Chaser position as of this round, you can only do actions of Chasers'.
Now... On with the rolls!
Celia hits a Bludger at Scott. Since Scott did not post he does not get his stat points. Celia = Bludger (D6 + Str) = 6 + 6 = 12 Scott = Avoid (D8 + Str) = 8 + 0 = 8 Celia's Bludger hits Scott! Since he has no actions he does not need to maintain his concentration.
Zoey attempts to block August. August attempts to avoid. Zoey = Mark (D4 + Dex) = 1 + 6 = 7 August = Avoid (D8 + Dex) = 6 + 5 = 11 Zoey fails to block August.
August attempts to intercept Cassandra's pass. August = Intercept (D4 + Dex) = 3 + 5 = 8 Cassandra = Pass (D6 + Dex) = 5 + 5 = 10 Cassandra passes to Scott. Scott has the Quaffle.
Trinity searches for the Snitch. Since her Con is 6 she already has a Con above 5 and is able to search.
Trinity = Search = 6 6 is not the Snitch number. Trinity does not see the Snitch.))

Post by Wynd Lehane on Jul 16, 2009 23:08:02 GMT
"Once again the Gryffindor captain changes her team's positions. She must be ticked off that she let another Quaffle glide past her. This one also made by Darke. Maybe she believes that Theo will have less luck scoring on a boy. Don't get charmed by Flynn's devilishly good looks, Theo! Reid makes a feeble attempt to intercept the pass but fails as he is too busy avoiding the newest addition to the Gryffindor team. Will the lions finally be able to score or will they hand over the Quaffle to the team in blue once again? What do you think Ruby? Ravenclaw seems to be playing at the top of their game. Gryffindor not so much. Do you think Gryffindor even stands a chance? Or should Cassandra Fallon throw up the white flare and save herself the humiliation of losing to the nerds of the school?" Wynd could sense the disapproving look from Professor McGonagall of his words but he could care less. He was the one with the megaphone, not her. She would have to take it away from him if he wanted his comments to stop.

Oscar wasted no time, kicking into the air with a determined 'whoop' directed at his team. As Rosaliz and Melody passed him on their flights off the pitch he called out a quick well done; he was momentarily confused as to why Melody was being sent off the pitch and made a mental note to ask Cassie about the decision later. It was their last game, and it was very important; in Oscar's opinion, not a time to give Trinity some Seeker experience just for the sake of it.
He caught his boyfriend's welcoming yet challenging grin as he sped to the goalposts and sent a mock scowl back, brows raised. As he swept through the air Lehane's words reached him and he laughed openly, head back, his long hair dancing solo in the wind as he grinnedt. He pulled up before his posts and swiftly weaved in and out of the centre post. He was going to keep moving, no halts, no hesitations; just constant reactions and constant flight. If Theo were to shoot, as Oscar supposed he would, then the Ravenclaw would not waste time flirting mid-air.

Theo caught Oscar's laugh as he hard Wynd's sarcastic comment about the two of them. An amused smirk danced on his lips as he met his boyfriend's eyes. The midair contact didn't last long, though; August had failed to intercept and Cassandra had passed to Scott. No doubt his friend would try and score and Theo couldn't have that! Determined to stop Scott, Theo flew after him quickly. It seemed his friend was getting most of the Gryffindor Chaser action, whilst for Ravenclaw it was practised teamwork between himself and August. Theo watched the younger Chaser from the corner of his eye; he was tailing Scott too. Theo followed closely and waited for the opportune moment to fly into Scott's way of scoring. The least he could do was help E if August failed to steal from Scott.

Trinity floated along the sky calmly. She wasn't the type to cave under pressure; in fact, she quite relished it. She kept one eye close on the Ravenclaw Seeker, Sandy, who was in the year below her. Not that age made a difference; Trinity believed that it was ability, not age that got you places - talent over experience. Then again, experience was vital in a game like Quidditch too - the Ravenclaw's Vice's success in scoring so far had proven that, as had the Captain, Celia's constant wild Bludger attacks on Trinity's Gryffindor teammates. Trinity felt inclined to help them, given her competitive team spirit and desire to help her friends, but her job here was Seeking, and she couldn't let them down in this aspect. She'd just have to trust their judgement and talent.

Edward nearly wailed in frustration as his attack was deflected and so was his bat. He watched in horror as the two seekers dove for the snitch, than nearly lost his seat as both Seekers came up empty and the snitch disapeared once again. "Yes!" He shoutted punching his fist in the air. "Theres still time!" He searched exuberantly for another bludger to send into play and almost took off after one before remembering he no longer had a bat. "Oh crap!" He stated and quickly flew down to the ground and retrieved the fallen bat and hustled to rejoin the action above him. Gryffindor had the Quaffle and already the chasers were moving in to steal, Edward decided to add a little extra help.

Scott growled as Cass let another goal through. Soon enough though, he found the Quaffle in his possession, and he knew what he had to do. Scott shot straight for the Ravenclaw hoops, sheer determination guiding his every quick movement right, left, up, and down. It was clear that the Ravenclaws were focused on him now though as he saw Theo at every turn. Scott would try his best though to put Gryffindor back into the match. When close enough, he tried throwing the Quaffle as hard as he could, hoping that Eades would fail miserably in trying to stop it. ((Trying to score, while also blocking against Theo and (possibly) August. Will focus on the shot if I make it that far.)) Ephraim watched with an excited smile as the Seekers shot after the Snitch. Neither of them could catch it though, and soon the Gryffs were making a run in his direction. He saw Scott Ryder, thankfully surrounded by a swarm of blue, and Ephraim was ready. When Scott looked poised to shoot, Ephraim flew in the direction where he presumed the Quaffle was going. If he could help it, Ravenclaw would keep Gryffindor to zero points. Zoey sighed and raced toward the action by the Ravenclaw hoops where Scott was attempting to score and Theo was trying to stop him. She figured he'd need a little assistance when more Chasers arrived. he looked around to see what else was going on, and she laughed a bit when she saw Edward was racing to get his bat, but then frowned as he deflected a Bludger to Scott. She waved her arms, signaling to Scott that she was open if he needed to pass.

Zoey cursed as the Bludger his Scott, and she dived instinctively to the loose Quaffle. She leaned close to her broom, concentrating as she neared it. She looked up above at Scott, hoping he was alright before she looked ahead again. She threw her hands up, silently praying that she'd feel the Quaffle in her arms and keep it safe from the other Chasers.

"Yea!" Ed cried as his bludger attack struck the mark and the quaffle fell loose, giving his chasers a chance to snatch up the loose ball. Edward looked around and noticed another Gryffindor Chaser also shooting for the loose ball. "Not on my watch." Ed growled and quickly went off to find another bludger.

Time seemed to slow as August watched another Quaffle ram into Scott. The poor fellow. He seemed to be the only one of the Gryffindor Chasers to actually be doing something so all the Bludgers were aimed at him. This was no time to feel sorry for the other team as he lost his concentration and dropped the ball. Zoey was fast to try and catch it but August was not going to let that happen.

Theo watched the Quaffle fall from Scott's hands for the second time. The Ravenclaw Beaters were doing exceptionally well! "Well done, Edward!" Theo shouted elatedly, though he felt rather sorry for Scott, who was bound to be black and blue from bruises by now. August and Zoey were already diving for the Quaffle. Theo decided he'd snatch himself a slice of action too and tailed Zoey, hoping to block her way and let August take the Quaffle.

Trinity's eyes lit up as she noticed the Snitch for the first time. She hadn't expected to see it so early, but she certainly wasn't complaining. Without a word she silently shot off after it, not willing to let it out of her sight. She wondered briefly if Sandy had noticed yet, but Trinity didn't care; this was her chase, her Snitch, and she was going to win it for her team - and it was her first real match too! Adrenaline pumping and brow sealed in determination, Trinity's arm reached out as she closed in on the Snitch. "C'mere, you!" she muttered through gritted teeth. "You're mine!"
((CHASING THE SNITCH!
As Hooch, please let me remind the other Seeker that 'Seekers may not Focus for the roll deciding who catches the Snitch, as although they would be expected to be concentrating, their Con score is used in Search rolls and so already plays a large part in determining the outcome of who catches the Snitch.
