Yes! Once again, Billy managed to whack another bludger, and this time it his melody right in the arm, knocking her off course for a while it seemed. Luckily Finn seemed to be doing well, and Billy hoed that he would now get an advantage at seeing the snitch, and that he would see it soon. Unfortunately Oscar had defended Melody from the other bludger, which was now heading at Finn, but Sydney was taking care of that one. Oscar had managed to get to the other bludger too, and it was heading towards Chace, so Billy flew over to try and protect the older boy, who now had the quaffle (after Mikayla had failed to intercept the pass from Seth). They couldn't afford to lose possession, so he tried his best to hit yet another bludger away. He aimed to deflect towards Melody again, as the game was getting to that stage where the snitch may well be seen at any time soon))

Ouch. Whoever this new Hufflepuff Beater was, his Bludgers packed some punch. Melody rubbed her arm ruefully; it was hurting quite a lot but she knew she had been lucky not to sustain any worse Bludger hits - her arm was hardly the most critical place, so long as she could still extend it when it came to searching for the Snitch. She tested that out. Yup. She couldn't tell whether it hurt to do that, since it was already hurting so she couldn't tell the difference. With a little shrug, Melody pulled herself together, trying to restore her pluckiness a little. The Snitch was out there, and she was going to find it, regardless of the commentator's taunts, Hufflepuff's Bludgers and her elder opponent.

Sydney cursed out loud as she missed the bludger as it flew past her bat. She was in mid yell as she turned to Finn as he dodged the iron ball. "Bloody Hell." she shot as she followed the bludger. She was sick and tired of trying to save people and failing. She was willing up with anger as she chased the bludger and got behind it and show it toward Melody. She was the person who was going to make or break this match. Hufflepuff was doing awesome with points- But Syd needed to focus on the end result right now.

Julius grazed the bludger not even making it slow down a little. He watched horrified as it struck Melody and groaned loudly. He flew near her and said, " Sorry Melody, I'll get it next time." He flashed a fleeting smile and took off to search for the bludgers. To his left he saw that Sydney had found a loose bludger and was attacking Melody! To his right Billy had sent the other one at Melody as well, " GAHHHHH!!!" He yelled out. He took off in pursuit of the bludger that Sydney had hit intending to deflect it at Finn whom he felt deserved more bad luck in the game. " Oscar, on your left!" he yelled above the crowd, hoping that his teammate would get to the other one in time.

Seth cheered when Finn avoided the Bludger. Both Seekers were being barraged by plenty of Bludgers. Seth was glad none were flying at him, but if they did, he was sure his teammates would protect him. Chace was a damn good Beater when he wasn't playing Chaser. Then, Seth's eyes switched to Chace's form. He still had the Quaffle - was darting between players - and finally reached the other end of the pitch, where his sister was waiting to save. Seth watched closely; this would be an interesting match-up. "C'mon, Chace," Seth muttered under his breath, hoping with all his might Hufflepuff would score again and that his choice in passing to his best friend hadn't been a poor one. When the Quaffle flew through the hoops, Seth gave a loud whoop and jumped in the air, yelling, "YES! Nice one, Chace!"
Hufflepuff were in the lead. Bring it on, Seth thought with a grin. They could take it.

Oscar smiled as Sydney missed the Bludger, pleased something had finally got past her - but then it was a matter of the thing actually connecting with Finn's body, and he slipped past it with a swiftness that irritated Oscar. To add to this he heard the Hufflepuff keeper's cheers from across the pitch and this only annoyed him further; not that he was annoyed by Seth because for all he knew the guy was nice enough. Trying not to be down-hearted for much longer he quickly glanced down at the game below - and scowled instantly. Hufflepuff had scored. "Come on Gryffindor!" His voice lifted above the winds and hopefully everyone heard him. "Scott, get in there!" Pushing himself faster and faster through the air, he nodded as Julius quickly defended Melody from Sydney's attack and headed towards the free Bludger, biting his lip gently. He had been wrong in thinking this wouldn't be one of the hardest games; Hufflepuff were giving it their all.

The brief break was a bit of a relief for Finn, but he saw that Oscar was sending another Bludger his way. Great. At least Hufflepuff seemed to have the momentum on their side. Perhaps him not seeing the Snitch yet was a good thing. If Hufflepuff could score another few goals, then he could catch the Snitch. That would allow them a chance to move up in the standings.
"Syd! Another one!" he laughed, wondering if she'd come to hsif rescue yet again. Or maybe it would be Billy this time. Either way, he didn't mind. Really, it seemed he needed his own personal Beater to keep him safe. In fact, all Seekers could use a personal Beater, the way things tended to go. Maybe they'd consider adding a third Beater to the general lineup of players. They could call it a Beeker... the Beater who protects the Seeker. Clearly, Finn's mind was going off on many tangents, and so he tried to focus again as he prepared to dodge the possible Bludger while still searching for the Snitch.

Hufflepuff had taken the lead with Chace's second goal, and Ivy couldn't help but be pleased at that. "Yes!" she shouted happily, punching a celebratory fist into the air, fired up by her team's success. At least her team need not be a complete laughing stock anymore. They were showing themselves at their absolute best, every single player, whilst some of Gryffindor's team was decidedly ropy. Ivy was about as brimful of confidence as she ever got as she positioned herself to intercept the Gryffindor Keeper's pass... we're in the lead, she thought to herself with a fierce, exultant joy as she felt the wind whip past her face with her increasing speed.

Her arm had barely ceased throbbing from the last Bludger hit and it was still a wee bit sore, and already there were two more Bludgers heading at her? Melody wondered what was going on... the Hufflepuff Beaters were taking more interest in her now than they had at the start of the game, but yet she was having absolutely no more success in seeing the Snitch. Melody glanced worriedly at each of the Bludgers, silently thanking her team captain and vice captain for the training they'd given her trying to dodge double Bludger attacks. Even with Julius coming to her rescue, she felt very much threatened, and she could remember the last Bludger hit all too clearly to be ready to experience another one. She tensed on her broom, ready to bolt away from the threat at any moment, ready to leave it to her broom to hurtle downwards as fast as was necessary to get away from the Bludgers.

Syd watched as the two free bludgers hit into the seeker, Melody. "Yes." she said out loud as she circled the bottom of the pitch. Her and Billy made a good partnership this game. She shot him a smile and a nod as she shot down the pitch. She needed to keep at least one bludger busy so it was one less bludger targeted at Finn. She hated the anxiety of worrying about two bludgers hitting Hufflepuff's seeker. Getting a bludger in her sight, she darted for it and leveled her shoulders behind it. She wasn't sure who to aim it at. Calculating in her mind, she figured targeting someone new might be to her advantage; suddenly she spotted a Gryffindor Chaser.

Oh jeez. Hufflepuff scored again. Casey glared at Riley. “Focus!” She called absently to the Keeper. What was going on? They would lose this game if things continued on like this. Casey had to do something. Something had to change. Riley had the quaffle, but Ivy quickly got it. Just great. Casey took off after Ivy. Hopefully she could steal the quaffle for the Hufflepuff and avoid all the bludgers along the way. It had been an eventful game and hopefully it would win in Gryffindor’s favor.

There was little for Seth do but hover boredly in front of the goals. Most of the action was happening on the other side. He felt a pang of sympathy for Riley and was glad he didn't have so much pressure heaped on him, but he was also growing restless - Seth was not good at staying still for too long. He was scanning the sky and the crowd blankly, just as a reprieve from the blurs of red and yellow around him, when he felt his broom jerk from under him. "What the--!" Seth managed to exclaim, before his broom began to shift beneath his weight. It was almost bucking him off! Thoroughly alarmed, Seth began to shout and wave his arms around frantically. "Stop it!" he ordered his broom, trying to cling to it tightly in fear he would fall off. Finally, though, he could hold on no longer - whatever was controlling his broomstick was much too strong. With a great yell, Seth tumbled over his broom. "AAAAH!" he yelled as his heart leapt into his mouth. His hands scrambled for some sort of hold, and as luck would have it, they found the hoop of one of the three goals. Seth breathed in relief as he held on, dangling in the light breeze. He was only half aware of many of the crowd's attention on him at the moment. It was like he had seen the Snitch... or not. When Seth felt his grasp beginning to wane, he started to yell again, looking around desperately since his broomstick had flown off somewhere. "Somebody help me!!!" he shouted, trying not to twist too much in his position. It was too late, though. Seth was slipping, finger by finger--
And then he fell.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"
Oh, that Slytherin boy would pay when Chace got his hands on him.

What in the heck was Riley doing? Did Chace pay her to let him score or something? And now, she was just flying there while the Hufflepuff Chasers swarmed her, Ivy easily taking the Quaffle back into Hufflepuff possession. This was ridiculous. Luckily, he saw Casey go in for the quick steal. At least some of the Gryffindors were still in this. First it was Cass and her crazy antics, and now Riley was seemingly in another world. What was happening to the once dominant Gryffindor team?
Scott hurried to place himself between Ivy and her potential passing options. He couldn't single-handedly bring Gryffindor back into the lead, but he would do all that he could to help.
Just then, he heard the crowd gasp collectively, their attention at the other end of the pitch. Great. Someone must have seen the Snitch. But, when Scott looked that way, he realized that it wasn't a Snitch sighting that had the crowd's attention locked. No, it was the Hufflepuff Keeper, Seth Wright. He was dangling high above the ground, his broom nowhere in sight as he held onto one of the hoops for dear life. What was this match turning to?

Thins had quieted down a bit around Finn, and he found that Hufflepuff had seemed to be gaining control of the match ever so slightly. That was a reassuring thought. He watched from afar as Ivy made the steal from the Gryffindor Keeper, putting Hufflepuff in a position to perhaps make another ten points.
Finn was at the opposite end of the pitch though, happy to be out of the chaos that seemed to be in the game. Or, at least he thought he had escaped the chaos until his wandering eye landed on the Hufflepuff hoops. He had to take a second look to believe what he was seeing. Seth was gripping the bottom of one of the hoops, screaming at the top of his lungs. What in the world was happening?!
Instinctively, Finn flew toward the hoops as fast as he could. He wasn't sure what he would do, but Seth was going to fall at any minute. A fall from that height would surely do some damage if not kill the boy. Nearing the frantic Hufflepuff, Finn hovered just above the hoop, steadying his broom as he held out his hand. "Seth! Grab hold!" he shouted, planning to help hoist the Hufflepuff Keeper to where he'd be able to at least sit on the hoops until his broom was found. Where did it go, anyways? Finn knew from the recent Cass catastrophe that his broom couldn't hold the weight of two people. Plus, Seth was probably heavier than Cass. They'd surely plummet to the ground if Seth were to use Finn's broom for support.

(Whoops, sorry! I'm daft.)
"Melody!" Oscar hadn't seen Billy's bludger come back towards his Seeker - it hit her with force, followed almost instantly by the next Bludger from Sydney. Oscar groaned loudly and cringed, instantly cursing his own inability to master the defense in this game; Melody had already been hit three times, which meant Oscar was not doing his job right. If only Cassie... - if only nothing. She had herself thrown from the pitch and Oscar couldn't be wistful and want her back on, even if she was a better Beater, even if she could have defended Melody from those Bludgers. While Oscar did not encourage or support her wild antics and hot-headedness in most games, he strongly admired her Quidditch skill and knew he could learn from his captain; he hoped he already had.
"Ummm..." Oscar's attention snapped from Melody to the Hufflepuff Keeper, Seth. He seemed to be causing a bit of a distraction... taking the opportunity, Oscar began to head swiftly towards one of the free Bludgers - only to see Syd reach it first. With a scowl Oscar spun back around and put himself directly in the Bludger's path, shouting out to Casey as he went.

Yeeeeeees! Billy hit that bludger with all his strength, and luckily it hit Melody! As did the other bludger, from Sydney - Finn HAD to be close to catching the snitch now! Also, Chace had managed to score the team's second goal, which was simply fantastic! And then Ivy had managed to steal it before Riley passed it. But concentrating on the bludgers, Sydney managed to get to one of them, hitting it at Casey it seemed (wise choice, as she was trying to steal the quaffle), so he decided to try and hit the other one towards Melody again. he felt bad about that, but...it was quidditch! And what on earth was happening to Seth, on the other side of the pitch? Billy was worried for his older friend, hoped that he'd be alright, and also hoped that the gryffindors wouldn't get the quaffle now...

Ivy gripped onto the rough leather ball appreciatively as she felt it safely in her hands (somewhere it hadn't been nearly enough this game!), speeding away so that she could loop round back towards the Gryffindor goals. However, as she found Casey on her tail, it soon became clear that she would have no choice but to pass. Ivy saw her friend Sophia to one side and lobbed the Quaffle to her, an act born out of desperation, although she had every confidence in her friend's abilities, of course. It was just not the most ideal situation to be passing in, while under pressure and with the infernal Scott Ryder dangerously close by...
