Although he was not willing to admit it, the pass between August and Theo had happened too quickly for Wynd to stop. August had stolen the pass right from underneath Pyro's nose and then was able to get the Quaffle to Theo without any reaction from the Slytherin Chasers. That kid was better than Wynd had given him credit for. But that was all about to change. The Ravenclaw team had a successful pass meaning that they would have the opportunity to score but not if Wynd had anything to say about it.

The Ravenclaw Chasers were proving to be more and more annoying as the game went on. At first, it seemed as though Slytherin had the upper hand, but now Drake wasn't so sure. He watched with mild frustration as they neared his area of the pitch. At least he was ready if they took a shot.

When the Quaffle fell into his arms, Theo's heart rose in elation. His delighted smile became grit and determination as, without waiting to thank August for his successful pass (Theo would be sure to pat him on the back later and congratulate him for a brilliant job), he veered towards the goals. Theo knew he had to score - he had to even the ten points Slytherin had already gained. Theo noticed Wynd flying towards him, eager to steal the Quaffle, but he was absolutely determined to keep hold of it. It was his - theirs. Propelling himself before Drake, the Slytherin Keeper, Theo narrowed his eyes, took a deep breath - wondering if Oscar was holding his breath as well somewhere in the crowd - and threw the Quaffle.

Stephen nodded in an almost annoyed fashion when the Ravenclaw beater had successfully defended Ruth from the bludger. He wanted to see her hit by another one, but now it was his turn to try to evade the bludger headed at him seeing as how his beaters were probably going to go after the Ravenclaw chaser that was shooting...at least that's who they should be worried about. Stephen shot up into the sky hoping to get away from the bludger as his eyes scanned for the snitch. The bludger wouldn't matter to him right now if he caught the snitch.

Dylan circled the pitch, still looking for ways to take out Ruth. So far he had been trying his best to thwart her concentration, and it seemed to be working. He saw Mary hit a Bludger at Ruth also, but Ephraim deflected the hit to their Seeker, Stephen. "No you don't," Dylan said flying to his aid.

Though not all of his attacks had been successful, Ephraim had yet to let a Bludger get past him and hit one of his teammates. That was something to keep him motivated to keep going. With Dylan constantly hitting Bludgers at Ruth, Ephraim decided to just stick near her so that he could make sure she had some time to find the Snitch. And, at the same time, he knew he should just keep attacking Stephen so that the Slytherin Beaters would have their own work cut out for them. E had a lot of energy, despite the rain, and he knew he could keep this up for at least a few more hours if necessary....

One Bludger was successfully avoided - she threw a thankful glance at the beater who had sent it away from her, but this look dropped quickly. Ruth wouldn't want her team thinking she was their friend... no, then they might try and give her advice, or even worse - ask for it. Eugh. Why did people always think like that? You say one word to them, and they think a response must be a whole conversation - and oh, maybe a coffee, if you're free? And because Ruth was a Ravenclaw, any younger students that misinterpreted her looks always thought she was happy to do their homework for them. Ridiculous. Ignoring the Slytherin seeker completely apart from to make note of his movements across the pitch, she put her trust in her beaters that the Bludger flying her way would be defended, and scoured once more the length of the Quidditch pitch.

Wynd's hands grasped only air. With a determined glint rarely seen in Theo's eye, he watched the Quaffle fly towards Drake, strength pushed behind it. It successfully fell past Drake's outstretched fingers and--
SCORE!
Theo's heart leapt in elation. They had evened the score with Slytherin! He punched the air in an un-Theo move of absolute delight. As Drake went to retrieve the Quaffle, Theo watched August come up on his side. But to who would Drake pass to? Wynd? Pyro? Whoever it would be, Theo or August would be on standby to intercept.
Now, that winning thing? That was mainly down to Ruth if the other players on Ravenclaw didn't manage to get more than one hundred and fifty points.
((Waiting for what happens and rejoicing in our greatness, hahaha. But, if August doesn't post, I will edit to attempting to intercept.))

"Damn!" Drake spat as the Quaffle brushed past his fingertips and through the lowest goal. He was so close, but close was not close enough. Now the score was tied. He didn't even want to see the look on Mary's face. He knew she would be upset. Drake didn't care so much about letting the entire team down as much as he just wanted to keep Mary happy. She had quite the fire when it came to Quiddith, and he really wasn't in the mood to hear an earful from her.
With a growl, he flew to retrieve the Quaffle and circled back around the front of the hoops. The Ravenclaw chasers were hovering like vultures as he was preparing to pass. There was no way that he was going to let them steal the Quaffle from him though when he passed it. The Slytherin Chasers needed to get their heads in the game though. Drake wasn't going to have it if they continued to bombard him with shots. He really wasn't that excited about being there in the first place.
"Hey Lehane, go do something productive," he hollered, whipping the Quaffle at the younger Chaser with such force that it might knock out anybody who got in its way.

Stephen continued his upward climb to avoid the bludger, it slipped past him thunderously, but that didn't stop Stephen from smirking. It had avoided the beaters bludger and now he could search for the snitch up top again. It seemed slipping down to the playing field only reminded the Ravenclaw beaters that he was in the game and really he didn't want to start dodging bludgers every five minutes like the Ravenclaw seeker was doing. Of course all of this was thought too soon as Stephen continued to flip around the sky in hopes of spoting the golden sphere that would lead to another win, when a roar of cheers and screams erupted from the Ravenclaw side of the pitch. His eyes turned down to see Drake recovering from the score and he muttered in annoyance to himself before his eyes caught sight of the bludger headed his way. "Figures," he grumbled as he started to dive in order to get away from it.

Where was it? For some reason this elusive little golden orb was refusing to show itself. The game had to finish with the Snitch - Ruth was determined not to let Donahue get it first. While she had slowly lost her 'Ravenclaw pride' over the years from watching some of the students that came from her house, she still had an element of that need to win for her team in her. She was too competitive a person to just sit back and let others do the work; especially if she could generally do it a little better.

Theo swept between Drake and Wynd, snatching the Quaffle out of midair. He heard teammates and supporters cheer in unison at his successful move, and grinning, he graced Drake and Wynd a brief determined smile before shooting off into the opposite direction. It was time to further Ravenclaw's lead. It was not long, however, before several Slytherin Chasers (as well as Beaters most likely) were closing in on Theo. Eyes watching his opponents carefully, Theo decided Ravenclaw had a better chance of retaining the Quaffle if he passed; for it would surely be snatched off him at this rate. They needed so desperately to get a Chaser at the other end and attempt to score. Seeing August in the corner of his eye, Theo yelled, "August!" before throwing the Quaffle in his direction.

She was oblivious to the game beneath her and had only paused for a moment as the wave of cheers and Ravenclaw pride washed over her when Theo scored. She allowed a small smile to grace her lips - for Ravenclaw, not Theo Darke - and continued her hunt. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed the ever-present idiot that was Dylan Caoimhe aiming a Bludger at her once more. Her brow darkened and she faced him directly, scowling for a moment while she remained hovering in the air. Without warning and with just the slightest pressure on her broom handle she spun gracefully to the side, hoping to dodge the Bludger quickly and without a chase. "EADES!" She bellowed at a figure in blurred blue and brown, hoping it was the beater. "Get the kid!" She hissed, 'the kid' being that Donahue snake.

There had been bludgers flying all over the place for the last few minutes, and Celia had found it difficult to keep up with the activity! Most of them going towards Ruth...Celia had managed to successfully defend her that time, but then Dylan had managed to defend Pyro well too, and there'd been yet another bluder going towards Ruth. She was sure nobody had been hit recently, but there was once again a bludger, again from Dylan, heading towards the other 7th year girl. Celia quickly flew over to her aid, hoping to deflect it away from them, and back towards Dylan - he needed a taste of his own medicine, and Celia was just getting fed up of him always targetting the same person.
August had managed to intercept one of the earlier passes, and then had passed to Theo. He had then managed to successfully score a goal against the Slytherins, and Celia remembered what a great chaser Theo really was, and missed working with him. They had made a good team in the past. Her confidence in him rose once again as he managed to intercept the pass from the Slytherin keeper, and it looked as if he was now attempting to pass back to August, who would then hopefully be able to shoot again. The game was now starting to look up for the Ravenclaws, even after the shaky start.

Stephen successfully dodged another bludger, to which he was very happy. The last thing he wanted was to get hit by one, especially after Bowman's attack. A part of him wondered if she was going to be able to move enough for later. Time would have to tell. That thought, of course, was fleeting and disappeared just about as quickly as it had come about. He was too busy having to worry about the game to really worry about anyone else, especially Bowman and what he had planned for later. It didn't seem to matter much right then and there anyway.
Stephen flipped around and headed to the other side of the pitch. This game was already going on longer than he wanted, but there wasn't much he could do about it. He had to just fly around and find the snitch, it was the only way to win the game...and right now he wanted that snitch probably more than the Ravenclaw seeker did...In fact of that he was certain. He was tired and had other plans he needed to attend to, but he wasn't going to rush the game. Rushing is when mistakes happen and Stephen knew he couldn't make any mistakes, not in this sort of game, and definitely not against Ravenclaw.

The Quaffle landed safely in August's arms. Pleased, Theo watched as the younger boy flew towards the goal to attempt to score again. He hoped they would extend their lead. Glancing upwards, Theo noticed the lack of activity between Ruth and the Slytherin Seeker, Stephen Donahue, who had been substituted in instead of Josephine. Theo remembered Stephen in his year a few years ago... but a lot had happened since. Oscar, for example. Banishing the thought of his boyfriend from his concentration, Theo steered his broomstick towards the goals where Drake was defending, waiting to see if Drake could save or if he would have to pick up a successfully-scored Quaffle. Either way, he was ready to shoot forwards and intercept his inevitable pass to one of the Slytherin Chasers.
((Wondering if people will actually post... though the Slytherins can certainly give up if they want. Theo wouldn't mind at all. ;P))
