Unfortunately Wynd managed to dodge Celia's bludger...she guessed she wasn't used to being a beater, and she didn't really know what to expect....it was the first time she'd been in a game as a beater long enough to get into it, and today didn't seem to be her day. Luckily the bludger that E hit towards Pyro hit the Slytherin, so there were then 2 free bludgers. One of which E was once again hitting towards Pyro, the other Celia decided to hit towards one of the other Slyth chasers. Or maybe Stephen? Yeah, Stephen...given that there was already a bludger heading to Pyro, and the other chasers and beaters weren't doing anything, then going for the seeker was the best bet. So she flew over to the stray bludger as quickly as she could, to try and get there before the slytherin beaters got there before her.
Meanwhile, August had had the quaffle, and had attempted to shoot, but unsuccessfully, unfortunately. So the quaffle was now in Drake's hands, ready to go to Pyro, which is why Celia guessed E had hit the other bludger towards him. Actually, Celia thought she could hit the other bludger at Drake instead of Stephen...then that way there was double the chance that the Ravens would gain possession of the quaffle. It would potentially be more useful than going for the seeker, as neither of them had been having any luck so far. She willed Ruth to find it as soon as possible, so the team could reach yet another early victory.
Unfortunately she wasn't quick enough to get to the bludger, and Dylan got there first. He was hitting it towards Ruth, so she decided to try and deflect it away, and get to Drak that way. She hoped that by the time it would get to Drake the quaffle wouldn't've left his hands, or at least not reached Pyro.

Uhh... that Dylan kid really made Ruth grit her teeth in frustration. She was suppressing strongly the urge to seize his bat herself and show him how to use it - against his own head. It was just her luck that she, stupidly, had to turn to face the stupid Bludger just as it slipped past Celia. Maybe if it had come up behind her and struck her sideways, she could have avoided being hit so terribly. But she had turned; and the Bludger slammed into her left shoulder with a force that knocked her backwards - for a moment she was not sure if she was able to remain on her broom. Her fingers scrabbled at the wood, desperately trying to find a solid grasp. All the while her broom was drifting with an increased pace towards the game below, and Ruth knew that what would follow was the hard ground of the pitch. She dropped past a few Chasers and was completely unable to regain her position no matter how determined her mind was to do so - the numbing pain in her shoulder was too much.
But then Ruth clapped eyes on the ground, approaching more and more quickly with each second. And she pushed the pain from her mind - as she did so, it seemed to lessen slightly to a point where she could clutch her broom handle as tightly as her shaking fingers allowed. From then she could tug her body back into a straight-back posture on the broom; she had been close to being separated completely from the broomstick. With seconds left, she managed to tug sharply on the wooden handle. To her relief the broom obeyed and she was climbing the air again. As she rose swiftly she flexed her arm once, twice, testing the pain. For now she could endure it; but she cringed as she thought about the purple bruise that would appear in a few hours.
Increasing her speed as she angrily noticed how far she was from Donahue, Ruth scowled at Dylan as she passed him swiftly. If she was lucky - and so far, luck hadn't been on her side - then Ruth could get far enough away from the beaters to give her some time to breathe again. And hopefully, time for the Ravenclaw beaters to get their acts together and realise their seeker was more important than a lousy chaser at this time in the game.

Dylan smiled watching Ruth spiral down after his Bludger had slipped passed Celia and struck her shoulder. He watched closely, hoping against hope that she'd hit the ground in a sickening crash and be taken out of the game, but she somehow managed to pull up on her broom and avoid crash. "Oh well," Dylan said flying off again. "I enjoy a challenge."
He flew passed Mary and nodded at her, letting her know he'd keep at it until the job was done, and he accelerated to the Bludger that had just struck Ruth's shoulder.

"Shoot!" Williard had failed to intercept Drake's pass to Pyro. And to make matters worse, one of Slytherin's Beaters had succeeded in hitting Ruth with a Bludger. Williard turned around as quick as he could, once again surveying gthe field. Ravenclaw seemed to be falling apart at the seams. Concentrating, Williard flew straight at Pyro.

Pyro smirked as he and August continued to wrestle for the Quaffle, the Ravenclaw chaser clearly saw the incoming Bludger and also knew what Pyro’s plan was. Suddenly they were struck by a third incoming chaser and Pyro’s grip on the Quaffle faltered, allowing August to get a firmer grip and win the battle for possession. To add insult to injury Pyro felt a sudden explosion across his back as the Ravenclaw Beater proofed he had much better aim than Pyro gave him credit for. Pyro rolled over in mid-air, rubbing the sore spot and eying the Beater dangerously.
Drake seemed to read his mind and quickly called out to him and passed him the Quaffle to keep him occupied. Pyro threw a glare at the Beater, marking him and remembering him for later in the game. He caught the Quaffle and tore off down the field. Suddenly a small Ravenclaw appeared at his side and began to wrestle for the Quaffle. Pyro shoved against the kid, “Get away squirt.” Pyro scanned the field looking for an open Slytherin to pass too, as he did this he noticed another Bludger sent his way by, Surprise! The same Bleater as last time. Pyro made his decision quickly. “Oi! Olivia! Bedazzle the Ravenclaw Keeper again and get this by him.” He hurled the Quaffle toward Olivia and then spun and faced the Ravenclaw Beater. “You’re dead.” He stated pointed at the Beater.

Bloody 'ell! Olivia had been able to get by Ed so easily and yet Drake caught August's throw as if there was nothing to it. August let out an exasperated sigh after the shot. He had put a lot more effort into the throw then he thought he had. Sometimes in the heat of the moment, you forget that Quidditch takes so much energy. Also he was just frustrated. It seemed like the game was going so well for the Slytherin team. If one of them got tired, they could be replaced. If one of the Ravens got tired.... there was no one to replace them. One good thing did happen, Pyro got hit by the Bludger that he was hoping would hit August instead. Serves him right.
Will had tried to intercept the pass and was trying to steal the ball now. Just in case that didn't work, August would be ready.

Oh great...this game wasn't doing any favours for Celia's confidence as a beater. The bludger she was hoping to hit away from Ruth unfortunately just whizzed right past her, and went on to hit the other 7th year. The other bludger would hopefully go in their favour though, unless someone managed to send it away from Pyro and towards one of the Ravenclaws. And at the other end of the pitch, Pyro now had the quaffle as Williard had failed to intercept the pass, though both Williard and August were now attempting to get it back-Williard by stealing, August by intercepting Pyro's pass, if Williard was unsuccessful.
Celia couldn't let the quaffle stay in the Slytherin's hands, and there was once again a bludger heading towards Ruth - Dylan had been doing his job as a beater well, she had to admit. But Celia had no choice but to defend Ruth against another possible bludger attack. So she stuck by the other girl, and hoped to hit the bludger away...hopefuly towards Pyro. Yes, then there would be 2 bludgers going towards him, but she couldn't let him keep the quaffle!

Stephen didn't even process the game below him, trying not to let the other players distract him in his search for the snitch. Every now and then however he'd glance over at the Ravenclaw seeker to see if she was catching a glimpse of what he could not. When she wasn't moving in any quick motion he knew he was safe to continue looking around him, his eyes scanning the horizon and the ground before looking up at the sky. He sighed as he swiveled around and headed off in the other direction trying to catch sight of that golden sphere and avoiding any bludgers that could be sent his way.

Dylan was doing a great job keeping Ruth and the Ravenclaw beaters busy, but somehow they were still managing to get bludgers flying at her team too. One was headed at Pyro, far from Dylan. With a sigh Mary got herself in between the chaser and the bludger. Thankfully they were still in possession after Drake’s save, things were looking good. They just needed to stay consistent, that was how they would win this thing.

Her bad mood was getting worse as the game wore on, which was more a positive for her team than a negative. If Ruth had thought about it, she would have struggled to remember the last time she was in a truly good mood anyway; she had once wondered where the point of no return was, wondered when the day would come where she simply became a nothing, a no-one, a zombie with a routine and not much else. She needed a new hobby, perhaps? Something to keep her interested for a long period of time - a challenge. She doubted she was going to find one at Hogwarts that would draw her in fully and this saddened her slightly; why did she have to think like this? Why could she not laugh and giggle like the others in her house and year, like she once had?
The thoughts invaded her brain no matter how much she tried to veer away from them, and pushing them out creased her forehead into a deeper frown. Without looking behind her, Ruth knew that there was a Bludger speeding her way. It was now inevitable and she didn't need to think about it - a flick of her hand, a slight pressure applied here and a lift there, and her broom was weaving her gracefully across the other side of the pitch in an attempt to avoid Mary's attack. Every movement made her draw in a quick breath as the pain jolted through her shoulder muscles. But apart from the breath Ruth was determined not to let Dylan's earlier hit affect her play - she would not be pulled from the game without even a glimpse of that darn Snitch.

"No worries," Dylan said to himself as Celia successfully defended his Bludger attack on Ruth and aimed it at Pyro. If Dylan wasn't going to let one thing happen, he wasn't going to let himself get annoyed or irritated that Celia had apparently taken to trying to block Dylan's every move. "Well, here we go," he said accelerating towards Pyro.

As August pulled out of his turn in which he successfully grabbed the Quaffle, he passed Dylan on his way to defend Pyro. August glared at Pyro as he made his way back to the Slytherin Keeper. Dylan seemed very much taken by the game and didn't even seem to realise that August was on the opposite team handling the Quaffle. Whatever, now was not the time or place to worry about something like that. They would have to talk. Soon. August looked around for his other Chasers and found that Theo was in a better position to receive the red ball than Williard was.

Hold onto the damn Quaffle, Drake thought to himself as Pyro lost possession. Luckily the Ravenclaw team seemed a bit distanced to be able to take a quick shot. He hoped Pyro would be even more angry now and steal the Quaffle back, perhaps causing a bit of a scene in the process. It had been a fairly boring game so far. Either way, Drake flew around the goal posts, ready in case the Ravenclaw team tried to score again.

Ephraim had seen enough. The Slytherin Beaters were obviously making it their business to attack Ruth every chance they got. Perhaps it was a good strategy, but he found it rather annoying. Quidditch was more than just catching the Snitch and preventing the other team from catching the Snitch. Every goal counted for something too, no matter who won the match. In the end, it could be the amount of goals a team scored which would push them into 2nd place overall or prevent them from being the last place team. Some players just didn't understand that, putting all pressure on the Seekers.
Either way, Ephraim had noticed a pattern, and so he was going to do what he could to stop it. Flying straight toward Ruth, he put himself between her and Dylan's Bludger, swinging with added effort as he tried to deflect it to the Seeker in green. "Two can play at this game," he said with an annoyed tone. He had already taken out one Slytherin Seeker... time to take out another.

Finally! August was in possession of the Quaffle again. Theo wasted little time in celebration, though. He followed August's course through the air, tailing his broomstick closely. So far there were no Slytherin Chasers in sight, but Theo knew that was bound to change soon. They had to act fast. "August!" he yelled to the younger boy. "I'm free!" He zipped closer to him, arms outstretched.

He had shouted so loud he surprised himself. He flew along with everyone else down the pitch and watched August pass to Theo. He finally felt like teamwork was coming into play.

Stephen dove down a little, figuring his chances of finding the snitch high in the air were rather useless at the moment, besides this would give him an opportunity to pass around the goals on either side and search for the glint of gold along the ground. So far...nothing, but he wasn't about to give up. He was ready to catch the snitch and put the game away. Slytherin deserved to win this game and he was going to make sure he did everything within his power to catch the snitch. It was around this moment that he noticed the Ravenclaw beater that had take Bowman out and lost his bat move to Ruth to attempt to defend her from the bludger that was headed straight at her. Stephen caught the glint in the kids eye and knew what that meant, a crooked smirk coming to his face. He was going to deflect the bludger toward Stephen...or attempt to do so. Either way, this was something to watch out for. The kid had decent aim, but hopefully Stephen had the speed on his side.
