Theo had not been expecting Edward to pass to August successfully; he'd hoped and he believed in the younger boy, but he knew Edward had little experience and he was evidently nervous, both of which would hinder him from passing well. That and he was aware of Wynd's ability. He groaned as the Slytherin grabbed the Quaffle from August's arms, but wasted no time in flying forwards and attempting to steal from his fellow classmate. He wasn't sorry if he stole it from him.

Josephine knew what was going to happen, even though she didn't want to think about it. The Slytherin goal had distracted the rest of her teammates and herself long enough that she let the bludger get the best of her and it did. One moment she was flying through the air, the next she was down and out. So much for playing this game through...There wasn't much she could do as she clutched her side, sure that there were probably a few broken bones at least. On the plus side, it was good to feel something...even if it was pain.
She pulled herself together enough as Mary called out for a change in the line up to allow her time to recover. This would give Stephen a chance to do his thing. Hopefully he'd do better than she did.

Stephen was enjoying his place on the bench, not really caring about the fact that he had finally given in and joined the Quidditch team. He had never been a fan of the game, of brooms yes, but Quidditch had never been his thing. However recently with everything that was going on with him, he felt he needed a distraction...something that would help to keep him grounded. Joining the Quidditch team had been his decision...allbeit an insane decision, but one he felt was at least somewhat decent even in it's insanity. As he watched the game unfold he found himself finding a level of pride for his house and even managed a cheer when they scored.
That wouldn't last long though as he caught sight of Josephine Bowman getting creamed by the bludger one of the Ravenclaws had sent her way. She was hurt, even in her attempt to play it off he noticed it and Mary must have as well as she immediately called in a substitution. This was it then...it was his turn to take the field. This would be his first match ever...let's hope he didn't let his teammates down.
Stephen takes up off the bench on his broom, not thinking twice about anyone else as he immediately begins his task of searching for the snitch, his eyes scanning all parts of the sky and ground awaiting that hint of gold that he knew would designate the snitch. At the same time he was also keeping a close eye on the bludgers...he didn't need what happened to Bowman to happen to him. That would do nothing for his team or himself.

The game had started to move at a faster pace. Unfortunately Dylan's attempt at deflecting the Bludger Ephraim had hit at him didn't go so well, but he still managed to move in time to not get hit. After Dylan gained his bearings, he realized Slytherin had scored a goal. He tightened his fist around the top of his broom in acknowledgement, and continued with the task at hand.

With his previous Bludger flying at Pyro, Ephraim watched as August was able to snatch the pass mid-air that was going between two of the Slytherin Chasers. "Nice snag, August!" he shouted, trying to encourage his teammate for a job well done. In his excitement, Ephraim found himself colliding with another player after losing concentration for just a brief second. He felt himself loose his grip on his bat, which began to fall downward. "Oh, damn!" he shouted, realizing it was Celia who he had accidentally ran into. "Sorry!" he apologized, wasting little time in heading into a dive to go after his bat. As he flew downward, Ephraim realized that his bat was headed straight toward the Slytherin Seeker! Though he wouldn't mind hitting Bludgers at the boy, Ephraim found it somewhat unfair to allow his bat to smack the boy on the head without much of a warning. "Heads up!" he shouted. Literally. Ephraim kept flying as fast as he could, but gravity was winning as his bat came closer and closer to hitting Stephen. ((Chasing my lost bat... ))

Rain. Rain. And more rain. Drake was starting to get tired of flying in front of the hoops. Slytherin had scored the first points, which he was happy for. Even though he hadn't made a stop yet, he hadn't let any goals by either. Surely the Ravenclaw Keeper was now a bit flustered after letting his team fall down ten points to nothing. Ravenclaw had managed to gain the possession of the Quaffle again though, and Drake gripped his broom handle tightly in preparation for what was likely coming. If they tried to score, they'd have to get through him first, and he was prepared to make that as difficult as possible. Rain or not, Drake wasn't in the mood to be made to look bad. Bring it on, he thought cockily.

Pyro couldn’t help but grin as Olivia managed to get the Quaffle past the lanky Ravenclaw, although it hadn’t been hard, the stupid little bookworm had frozen up and allowed the Quaffle to simply fly by for Slytherin’s first goal. Pyro was too far away from the Ravenclaw goal posts to help out there, so instead he floated near the middle of the field and kept his eyes open for anything he could help out with. He watched and couldn’t help but laugh as the Ravenclaw Keeper passed the Quaffle straight to Wynd, even with the interception so close to the Ravenclaw goal’s Wynd was immediately set upon by the Ravenclaw team. Pyro quickly flew into motion, getting into position to provide support for his teammate.
Thankfully Wynd must of spotted him since he tossed the Quaffle away to him. Pyro stopped short and prepared to catch the pass but another Ravenclaw quickly swooped in and plucked the Quaffle out of the air. Pyro growled and quickly gave chase. A movement once again caught his eye and he glanced over and noticed a new Bludger flying at him, he also noticed that the idiot Beater had dropped his bat shortly after the hit and now it was flying toward Stephen, the Seeker that had just been subbed in. Pyro glanced around, both their Beaters were currently unengaged, “Oi! Someone!” Pyro shouted toward his Beaters for protection but also thought of a contingency plan.
Pyro came up even with the Ravenclaw Chaser, August, and purposefully placed himself on the opposite of the chaser, putting August between him and the incoming Bludger. If his Beaters didn’t protect him, than they were about to find out how good of aim the Ravenclaw Beater really had, would the Bludger strike Pyro, or August. Pyro slammed up into August’s side and began to wrestle for the Quaffle.

For the first time really playing in a match Stephen felt he was doing rather well...avoiding hallucinations, I mean avoiding bludgers and everything. He seemed to be on top of his game, of course everything also seemed to be running fairly well, that was until a shout from above caught his attention. Head's Up! were the words that crossed his ears just as he glanced up, hazel eyes darkened at the sight of the bat falling toward him. It was a quick reaction, one that seemed to come from a deeper part of him as he watched the spinning bat gaging the exact moment in which he would be able to grab it.
Behind the bat he caught sight of one of the Ravenclaw beaters, an idiot for not being able to hold on to a simple item such as a bat. However it wasn't going to cause any damage...at least not to him as Stephen stuck out his hand grabbing the middle of the bat in one smoothe motion. He rose on his broom to meet up with the Ravenclaw before tossing it to him. "Here you go Butterfingers," Stephen said in a low annoyed voice. "Next time you try to drop it on me I'll use your head for batting practice." With that said Stephen whipped past him, shooting back up above the game to continue his search for the snitch in an area in which the idiotic Ravenclaw beater couldn't drop his bat on him.

Look who's talking now! Just as Wynd had come from nowhere and stolen the ball right from under the Ravens' noises August had just done the same. Theo had tried his best to steal the Quaffle from Wynd but to no avail. That left August. As the Snake tried to pass the red ball to one of his teammates August swooped in a stole it. August gripped the Quaffle tightly as he flew toward Drake and hopefully a goal. Then out of nowhere Pyro was next to him trying to steal the Quaffle away. There was no way that he would just hand over the Quaffle. August suddenly noticed the familiar whizzing noise that a Bludger makes. Usually a Bludger heading straight toward you. August looked up and noticed the Bludger heading straight toward the two struggling Chasers. Looking beyond the Bludger he noticed E. E was on his team. Why would E hit a Bludger at August. ....unless the Bludger wasn't meant for August but for Pyro! E's Bludger was going to hit him! "E control your Bludger!" August screamed at the Beater. But he wasn't listening as he was chasing after his own bat. "Get away from me!" he told Pyro.

"Yes!" The elated shout erupted from Theo's mouth like an opened bottle of champagne as August successfully intercepted Wynd's pass. "Go on August!" he cheered on loudly, following the trail of the younger boy as he skirted between players and headed back to the other end of the pitch to attempt to score. Theo was tiring of the Slytherin side and he was confident August could defeat Drake Manning, who was hovering in front of the goals for Slytherin. Age didn't necessarily mean anything. AS he tailed August, Theo glanced up to see how the Seekers were doing. It seemed Ruth was keeping a keen eye out, and although he doubted he and Ruth would ever get along as friends, he trusted her to do her best for Ravenclaw. He believed in her, even if she apparently disliked him so much.
Theo's eyes fell back onto August's figure, and it was then he noticed Pyro soar into him. Theo's eyes locked onto the Bludger that was flying Pyro's way, but now that he had hit August it was going to fly into the younger boy. Theo could not have that; if August got hurt he did not, like the much larger Slytherin team, have a substitute Chaser. It was imperative August remained unhurt, and there were no Beaters around. So, Theo propelled himself forward and into the tussle, whamming apologetically into August in order to fling him out of the way of Pyro's hands, as well as the Bludger. "August, Bludger!" Theo grit his teeth and yelled as he braced for impact. "Get out of the way!" Theo's glare turned on Pyro just as he hit them.
((Throwing self into August so to avoid the Bludger and cursing Pyro. Even though it matters little since these calculations won't be taken into account, heh.))

For once, Ruth had a few moments where no-one aimed a purple, seething monster at her. She relished this time and tracked each inch of the pitch with her sharp eyes - but nothing came to her. No glimmering gold, no fluttering spelled wings. She noticed the changed in the line-up and raised her brows, smiling for a moment at the Beater who had hit the successful Bludger at Josephine Bowman. "Keep that up, kid." She muttered to Eades with a smirk. If they knocked down every Slytherin seeker that came from the bench they she'd have no problem catching the Snitch. As the game resumed Ruth rather absent-mindedly let her eyes wander down slightly, and watched as a Bludger shot straight towards Pyro. She'd seen people get hit plenty of times - even her friends. It had never affected her. This was a game, people were bound to get hurt sometimes. And yet... her heart quickened when she saw the monster flying at the Slytherin. Not because she feared for his safety; he could look after himself. She had no reason, no justification for this quickened heartbeat. Because of this she passed over the thought and attempted to remain calm. Before long she was scouring the skies again - although she was unable to suppress a light chuckle when he used August as a shield. Admittedly she felt guilty at this; he was the opponent, she should want Pyro to be hurt. But he was the only one keeping the game below interesting ; the skies above were still blank, Snitch-less.

The game was still well underway but Ravenclaw were in possession. Mary watched as a bludger flew towards one of her chasers and he threw another chaser nearby it. “What is he thinking?” she muttered to herself, “Screwball is going to get himself kicked out of the game!” Or get himself hit anyways, if the kid in blue is any kind of flyer… Or just pull a good move Mary would have to congratulate him on later really, the results would have to be seen. Anyways, assuming the kid knew how to handle himself Mary decided to get in action as well. She would let the bludger fly if the Raven kept himself still, but knew she could whack it out of the way if it got near Pyro.

She had to admit it – Eades was doing well today, having hit two Slytherins successfully. Still, Ruth winced as the Bludger hit Pyro. She quickly discarded the thought. She hardly knew the boy. It was ridiculous for her to do anything more than notice the Bludger slamming into him. With a frown she turned away from that end of the pitch completely, pausing only once more to scowl at Drake Manning – the idiot had caught the Ravenclaws’ shot on the goals. Ruth let her broom climb higher and higher, relishing in the wind as it grew bitterer with each metre. She did not, of course, go out of sight; the Donahue boy was always in her eye line just in case he spotted anything. If he did, she would be right beside him in moments, ready to feel the hard gold beneath her fingertips. Ruth knew that with the Bludgers now reeling away from their targets, it would be a blurred battle with the Beaters – and she hoped Celia and Eades were smart enough to get to the Bludgers first. If Mary or Caoimhe beat them to it, Ruth doubted she would be alone in the sky much longer.

The Ravenclaw Beaters were on a roll. It seemed that the Slytherin team was getting hit by a Bludger every minute or so. Maybe even more often than that. Drake was just happy that he hadn't been targeted yet. He wasn't in the mood to be flying around with a Bludger on his tail.
Once again, he watched as Pyro was hit by an attack. Thus, the Ravenclaw Chaser who had possession was able to get a shot off. Drake was ready for it though, and he made a fairly easy save. Though, the strength of the shot did surprise him, considering that the Ravenclaw wasn't a very big kid. Nonetheless, Drake had made the stop.
Peering through the rain, he tried to find one of his own Chasers to throw the Quaffle too. The last one he saw was Pyro who had just been hit. Drake wasn't going to pass to him, but knowing Pyro, he probably was out for revenge. With that thought, Drake decided maybe it would be a good thing to pass to Pyro. "Hey Blackfire!" he shouted, getting the attention of Pyro in case he was more interested in charging the Ravenclaw Beater. Hopefully this could keep him occupied and ready to score.

"Uh, thanks," Ephraim said as he slid to a stop in the air. The Seeker from Slytherin had caught his bat for him and returned it. Ephraim was surprised he didn't just dodge it and allow it to fall to the ground. Either way, he wasn't going to argue as the Slytherin flew off. "Butterfingers..." Ephraim said to himself with a laugh. Perhaps it was an accurate assessment, but Ephraim had been doing quite well nonetheless. Maybe the Slytherin's kind actions would reprieve him from an attack from Ephraim. With both Bludgers flying freely, Ephraim caught a glimpse of the closest and flew after it. Celia wasn't anywhere around, so he hoped that she might be after the other Bludger. Ephraim was near the Slytherin goal posts and he watched as Ravenclaw just missed an attempt on goal. The Keeper from Slytherin had stopped it and now he was looking for someone to pass to. At the sound of a name being called, Ephraim knew exactly who was going to be the receiver of the pass. "Looks like my decision has been made for me," he mused, taking aim and swinging his bat in the direction of Pyro. ((Another attack on Pyro. ))

Stephen didn't both acknowledging the beater as he took back to his searchings for the snitch. He was well aware of the Ravenclaw that was flying around and he'd watch her movements enough to make sure she wasn't diving for the snitch. Stephen was ready to just be done with the game, he had little tolerance for the sun and even less for people, and there were a mass amount of people around, but they seemed to preoccupied with the game to think much of the "outcast" playing. He just hoped if he caught the snitch they wouldn't suddenly decide he was all right to talk with. Stephen could hardly handle them from this distance...if they thought him worthy to talk with he couldn't imagine being able to get away from them. He sighed to himself, almost in annoyance before he flipped around on his broom heading for the Ravenclaw goal posts to check for the snitch over there.
