Casey smile slightly as she stole the quaffle from Julian. Yes! Maybe now the Gryffs could score another goal. Casey hugged the quaffle tightly to her chest as she flew. She wanted to get as close to the hoops as possible before she tried to score or pass if need be. Casey did her best to avoid all the players but it was always jammed in this game as to be expected. Casey took in a sharp breath as she tried to get closer to the hoops. No, she wouldn’t make it. It was then Casey noticed the new chaser, Riley. She was open so Casey gave her a little nod for a heads-up before she would try to pass, but it was then that Casey noticed two Slytherin chasers on the way Casey took another sharp breath to prepare herself to pass.

Dylan flew after another Bludger as the one he hit missed Riley. He couldn't believe his luck today. He hadn't landed a single Bludger since he'd been playing. Searching for a new target, he scanned around and found the perfect one.

Relaxing, Cass sighed a little as Casey stole the quaffle from Julian. That was bloody rotten of him! He just seemed to lose control. She screamed again, but this time it was directed at her husband. "Fallon! What was that bloody play? If your going to get out on the field, at least make it look like you learned something from your wife. You deserved that slap from Wynd.! Wynd and I agree on something. You play bloody terrible!" She smiled wickedly. Maybe that would get in his head and keep him from playing like he had been. She couldn't believe that her husband was a quidditch shark! He had spent three months asking her how she enjoyed the awful sport, and now he was playing it himself. The game was a bit addicting. Maybe he had gotten the quidditch bug from her? Oh well, it didn't matter. She would still squash him in this game.

Julian was more angry at himself than the team or Cassandra could ever be. He knew he could do better than this. What kept causing him to zone out? He couldn't figure this part out. He wasn't really shocked anymore when he got the quaffle, but he seemed to daze out again this time when he stole it. Everyone had a right to yell at him, and Cass was right, he deserved the slap from Wynd. Mary was going to have his hyde after the game was over, but he couldn't understand what was causing it. Was it his worry over Cynthia? Julian would never figure it out. If Mary didn't take him out of the game, it would be a miracle. Julian took off again, trying to make up for what he had done. He wasn't sure how he could though. His only option was to make himself open incase one of his team mates stole or intercepted the quaffle.

A frustrated sigh escaped from Josephine's lips as she moved through the sky almost seamlessly. Where was that bloody snitch? It couldn't be that difficult to find on a day like this...could it? She rolled down, eyes glancing to the neverending game and then back to search for the glint of gold she'd need to find to win the game for her team. It was taking far longer than she wanted it to and that was grating on her nerves.

The game was actually becoming somewhat comical as it when on. Neither side seemed to be able to hold onto the Quaffle for more than a few seconds. Rex was almost glad that Cass had put him in as a Beater. This way he could watch the game instead of worrying about the Snitch. Almost. None of the Beaters seemed very interested in the Bludgers as there seemed to be a free Bludger roaming for a while now. Rex watched as one of the Slytherin Beaters took aim at Melody. She was there to protect him, so he was going to be there to protect her.

There was still no sign of the Snitch, and Oscar alerted Melody at the last moment about a Bludger that had evidently got past him and was close enough to Melody to have started tracking her movements and shadowing them. She was in trouble... it could easily hit her, and someone had given it a huge whack because it was going fast. Melody whipped off into the middle of the stadium, following as fast and erratic a path as she could improvise, trying to throw the Bludger off her trail. She had to lean out of the way a couple of times as it almost clipped her in the side, but at last with a sudden dive downwards, she managed to lose the Bludger. It had been a close shave, and Melody breathed a sigh of relief, feeling a little bit exhausted.
But she still had to get on with her job: that was the unrelenting nature of Quidditch. She'd moved into the centre of the pitch in the process of avoiding the Bludger, and she was in a good position for getting to the Snitch wherever it might turn up. Unless it turned up right next to the Slytherin Seeker, in which case... well, she didn't actually want to think about what would happen when one of them saw the Snitch. That was beyond her experience. She'd just carry on trying to spot it. Was it here, or there, or anywhere?

Scott rose up on Casey's left hand side, just about keeping up with her as she flew towards the goals. However, he wasn't quite as fast as Kailyn. "Casey, watch out!" he yelled in warning as the Slytherin girl darted forwards to try to steal the Quaffle. Her attempt failed. "Yes!" Scott muttered triumphantly under his breath. However, the attack from their opponents wasn't over yet. Scott watched as Casey prepared to pass to Riley, but as she did so Wynd swept across their short distance and intercepted the Quaffle. Scott cursed in frustration, his words lost in the wind. The Quaffle was just going back and forth between the two teams - no one was getting anywhere, and it was beginning to annoy him. However, Scott had an infinite amount of patience; if he didn't he would've made a terrible Seeker. With hard-headed determination he shot forwards to get himself active in the game again. "Riley, you intercept," he said briefly as he passed Riley, zipping past her as the Gryffindor Chasers tried to get back into formation. Scott didn't tell his teammate he was going to steal - he was sure she understood what he meant. Bearing upon Wynd and hoping Riley would be there to back him up if he failed to steal, Scott dove for the much-sought-after Quaffle.

The game was getting harder, faster and more confusing with every pass and every steal, every swipe at a Bludger and every dodge. It was constantly moving from Gryffindor to Slytherin and then back again, at a pace which almost overwhelmed Oscar. He supposed that was why he wasn’t a chaser, as for many other reasons. He liked to attack hard, fast and simple. Beater was a perfect position for such an offence. When he was keeper he didn’t mess around with fancy tricks or dances; again he blocked the Quaffle with his whole body when he could. He cared not for style in the sense that he didn’t flourish his bat after hitting a Bludger. He only cared for the force that went into the swing, the energy and focus of direction with the attack.
The other beater, Rex Carter, managed to swiftly block Melody from the next Bludger aimed at the seeker before Oscar could. He smiled slightly at the boy before urging his Nimbus on. There was one Bludger- that which Rex had just sent Julian’s way- which he was happy to keep on that path. But the other of the pair hadn’t had a hit for a while, and Oscar approached it with his arms ready. In one mighty swing he drew his arms back and aimed, once more, at the Slytherin seeker. He was warming to his target now. It was easy to spot her haughty figure above the rest of the team. Like glue, Oscar stuck to her now. He was sure that Rex would be able to defend Melody for the moment. Oscar knew that the younger Gryffindor was not incompetent and was pleased to be playing alongside him; he knew the two had to work together like this in order to get the better of the Slytherin beaters. So while Rex defended for the moment, Oscar sent the other Bludger directly at Josephine yet again.

Dylan caught his bearings, and didn't pay too much attention to his failed Bludger attack. If at first you don't succeed, try again, and that's exactly what he did as he saw Oscar hit a Bludger at Josephine. Dylan quickly flew over to Jo and swung.

Julian watched as the game played around him, his mind wasn't where it should have been and he still couldn't figure out why. He needed to keep his head in the game. He nearly jumped off his broom when Wynd managed to intercept the quaffle. He hoped that this time he could keep his head in the game as he tried to move himself around to get open. As he did this, he noticed a bludger flying straight for him. He figured that the beaters wouldn't care if he took a bludger or two since he wasn't playing as well as he could. He would do his best to dodge the bludger though.

Chasers seemed to be doing well, they were in possession once again. That was what Mary liked to see. Just keep the quaffle in their possession, hopefully get a fair few points on the board, while Josephine looked for the snitch. Completely keep the Gryffindor’s blocked away from it all until the game was over, that was the plan. Wasn’t exactly feasible, but it was a good way for things to turn. And of course being in possession was the first step.
Making sure her chasers were safe and the Gryffindor seeker was busy was the next step. There was a bludger too near Julian for Mary’s comfort, though she almost hoped Logton would jump in and save him. That would really get Gryffindor’s spirits down, if their beater started protecting the other team for personal reasons. But of course Mary couldn’t count on Logton to be quite so accommodating…

There was still no sign of the snitch...no where...nothing...nadda. It was beyond frustrating, especially since the game seemed to be a regular game of volley back and forth, with no opportunity to score. So it was up to the seekers...to her to end the game and get the win. That's what she had to do and she was going to do it. Eyes flicked back to the sky and then across the whole pitch, broom shooting to the left as she moved to circle the pitch again. Every now and then her blue eyes flickered over to the Gryffindor seeker, making sure she hadn't caught sight of the snitch before Brianna had. But like herself she didn't seem to have spotted it yet, which was a very good thing.

Once again Slytherin had possession of the Quaffle. This was getting ridiculous. The Quaffle was just switching back and forth. Back and forth. Who made the stupid rule that you had to pass to another Chaser before you could make another shot? A thought came to Wynd. Why couldn't he just try and take a shot? By the time Madam Hooch realised what was going on it would be too late. Wynd looked to his right and saw Scott steadily gaining on him to steal the Quaffle. Wouldn't that boy ever give up? "You know Scoot," he called back. "You're becoming a real pain." Wynd flew the pitch searching for what to do. He saw that Julian was open but he also saw a Bludger headed straight toward him. Wynd was weary of passing the Quaffle to Julian. The last time he had just sat there. "Don't make me regret this!"

Was the Snitch out there? Had it decided that the day was too cold for a small gold ball to be out in the open, thank you very much, and gone to shiver its tiny wings in a cloud somewhere? That was it. The Snitch was sulking and didn't feel like giving either team the satisfaction of catching it, after it had been forced to leave its warm and cosy crate. Still, it was up to the Seekers to keep up a pretence of searching for it, in preparation for the time when the Snitch realised there was nothing to be gained by lurking out of sight and instead decided to torture the Seekers by flitting in and out of their vision faster than they could react. Would she catch a glimpse of it anytime soon?

Julian had the quaffle again. This time he wasn't goofing off with it. He knew that they were at the point that he didn't have to pass again. Looking around, he hoped that he could get to the hoops to attempt a score against his wife without a stubborn Gryff stealing the quaffle from him.
He made his way across the pitch, lined himself up and smiled at Cass. "Darling, this is nothing personal at all." He yelled at her as he manuevered as he had seen her do so many times before, and shot the ball toward the hoop behind her.

What in the hell is he doing?, Cass thought to herself as she watched Julian rush towards the Gryffindor goal. Yep, he was going to do it. He was going to try and score again. He dropped the quaffle like a great big oaf just a few moments ago, and now he was going to try and score a goal. This was getting rather annoying. She hated Julian at the moment. How dare he try and worm his way into the one thing that she had to herself?! Why couldn't he just stay out of Quidditch? These thoughts continued to anger her. Now, he was trying to cost her the quidditch game. "Nothing personal!" Cass screamed back at Julian angrily. Of course it was personal! Julian was jealous of quidditch! With her eye on the quaffle, she dove to intercept her husband's throw.

Scott let out a sigh of angered frustration as Wynd managed to fly away with the Quaffle, Scott failing to steal it. After they had been so close to trying to score, Slytherin managed to worm their way back toward the Gryffindor hoops where they'd surely be close enough to attempt to take the lead. Scott wasn't about to let his failure to steal from Wynd stop him from trying again. This time though, Julian had the Quaffle. Part of Scott was tempted to let Julian just shoot. He wanted to see if Cass would be able to stop it. He was still irritated with her for hanging back in the Keeper spot and barking orders. Sure, she was the captain, but it seemed that she was quick to point out the failure of others. Scott wasn't exactly happy with how he, Riley, and Casey had been playing, but they were at least keeping it close. They weren't letting Slytherin walk all over them. Plus, Cass had made a few mistakes herself. She had tried throwing a pass to Scott which was intercepted by Wynd. How was that Scott's fault any more that it was Cass's? Letting his pride wash over him, Scott got back to his senses and realized there was no benefit in letting these negative thoughts interfere with his game. Cass was simply passionate about Quidditch, and he'd have to expect her to speak out of passion. He knew she wasn't really going to hold anything against him or any of the other players. They were a team, and they needed to act that way. So, with a speed of determination, Scott burst forward just as he noticed Julian about to try to score against his wife. "Not if I can stop you, Fallon," Scott said, swinging his arm wildy to try to snatch the Quaffle from Julian's grip. He hoped he would be successful so that Cass might not have to defend her husband. If she were to let him score, things might get ugly. ((Trying to steal from Julian and prevent a lovers' dispute. ))
