"Awesome Riley!" Cass nearly jumped off of her broom. The game was going splendidly. They were in possession of the quaffle, and everyone was playing marvelously so far. She was so proud of her team. How could she not be? She was pretty sure that this was her strongest team yet. Looking down at the Slytherin bench, she saw her husband waiting patiently to get into the game. She still didn't understand what had driven Julian to try out for the Slytherin team. He didn't even like quidditch. Still, there he was, lounging on their bench watching the game in his green robes. Shaking her head, she hollered at Melody. "Oi! I've got Riley and Scott! You watch Rex!" She rolled to the right as she flew down to defend the chasers.
Different size balls zoomed around her head as she tried to position herself. Cass was pretty sure she felt the snitch flutter through her dark hair at one point. The captain watched as she saw Mary almost hesitate, and then saw her whack a bludger towards Riley. Jolting forward, she made sure to put herself in the way of the bludger.

He felt it. The Quaffle. He had felt the ball with his fingers. Only to have the Quaffle pulled away by that Gryffindor Chaser. That didn't mean anything. The game was still young. Even if Gryffindor managed to score a goal Jo would catch the Snitch and Slytherin would win. Actually, on second thought maybe it would be good for Gryffindor to score. Give them false hope. But then again, winning by a landslide was good as well. As the Gryffindor girl raced down the pitch, Wynd followed her. He looked for his other Chasers, Mary's words ringing in his ears. Caleb was on the other side of the girl waiting for her to make a pass so that he could intercept it. Where the hell was Olivia? Wynd quickly spotted her doing nothing.
"Hey Dawson! Don't be a wet blanket! Actually do something or tell Mary to replace you!" he yelled at her. It was so much fun to irk her. And so easy too. Wynd smiled to himself and decided he was going to do something. Soon this girl would know what it was to lose the Quaffle.

"Whew! Thanks Melody," Rex called to her. She seemed to always be saving him in this games. The other team's Beaters always were sending Bludgers at him and Melody was always there to protect him. "Next Hogsmeade trip, I'll buy you something sweet," he told her with a wink as he flew to the other side of the pitch searching for the ever elusive golden ball. This game he was trying to stay close to the other Seeker without seeming like he was trailing her. If she happened to spot the Snitch before he did then maybe he would catch it before she did. But that would only happen if he knew where she was at all times and somewhat near her. Anyway she was pretty to look at so it wasn't hard to keep her in his sight.

"Aw thanks," Melody called back to Rex with a grin, temporarily losing her concentration. "Ah like Peppermint Toads - ohhh, but watch out, Rex!" she yelled in warning as she saw in her peripheral vision which had been keeping an eye on what the other Beaters were doing that Mary had sent another Bludger his way. She had to reflect that it wasn't much good to be allowing the Slytherin Beaters to be controlling both Bludgers; one was just about acceptable, but not really two. She'd been negligent in wasting time replying to Rex. Melody dived past the female Slytherin Chaser who was getting a little in her way, and then shot back up again in order to be in the right place to intercept the iron Bludger as it tried to hurtle past. Bat and mind engaged, she swung neatly at the vicious ball and tried to send it on its way. Hopefully a way that didn't end in Rex, but rather in the Slytherin Keeper.

((Firstly, my apologies for my mistakes in the previous game, and thank you to Ivy and the other staff members who alerted me to them. As Ivy says, it would probably be best to leave it as it is rather than re-rolling, so as to avoid confusion. My referreeing must be rustier than I expected!
Also, to Riley: it is too late to change your action of the previous round, but I would like to point out to you that you did not have to pass to Scott, as you could have attempted a shot on goal. As my signature indicates at the moment, neither Gryffindor nor Slytherin need to pass before an attempt on goal is made. My signature will be altered as the game progresses so as to avoid confusion. The rules should be up on the Quidditch page if you would like to understand more about this aspect of the game.

Riley had pulled away with the Quaffle, but Scott noticed that she wasn't making as quick of progress toward the goal as he had hoped. Two of the Slytherin Chasers seemed to be surrounding her like vultures, enough so that she seemed desperate to pass the Quaffle away. Scott flew back to help her, positioning himself above the Slytherin Chasers so that Riley could simply toss the Quaffle upward, enough that it was out of the way of the Slytherin Chasers.
When she finally did pass the Quaffle, Scott zoomed forward to grab it before the veteran Chaser, Donnelly, could get to it. Scott sighed a breath of relief as he felt the familiar leathery texture of the Quaffle against his fingertip. He tucked it underneath his arm and hugged it close to his body. Undoubtedly, the Slytherin Chasers would swarm him next and he needed to protect it from being stolen.
As he neared the Slytherin goal posts, he realized he was in position to try to make the first goal of the game. The Keeper didn't seem as alert as the Chasers, so Scott figured that he'd be able to score as long as the Quaffle wasn't stolen or intercepted. The Keeper, Drake Manning, was known for his womanizing ways, but Scott had yet to see any Quidditch performance by Manning that suggested he was as good on the pitch as he was with the women. Perhaps the Gryffindor Chasers only needed to worry about their counterparts from the Slytherin team. If they worked well with passing and communicating, Scott could only hope that scoring might be the easy part.

It seemed as though the team of lions were ruling the pitch. Their Beaters were dictating every Bludger, and their Chasers were making a run at the goal posts which was unhindered by the Slytherin Chasers. "Damn Gryffs," Drake muttered under his breath, still floating in one place on his broom with his arms crossed over his chest. The game was only a few minutes in though, and he knew that a lot could change. And after all, it didn't matter which team seemed to be doing better, the score was the only thing that mattered. For now, it remained tied. Then again, Drake knew that he'd be able to let up to fourteen goals pass by and still be able to see Slytherin walk away victorious. All depending on whether or not Josephine came away with the Snitch. At the same time, Drake didn't like being made a fool of. The score didn't matter to him as much as his own personal pride. The male Chaser from Gryffindor (Drake didn't know his name; why bother with such unimportant details) was approaching rather quickly with the Quaffle in his possession. A sly smirk graced Drake's lips. Seconds passed, and he went without movement. Quiddith was just as much a mental game as a physical one, and Drake loved mental games. At the last possible moment, when it seemed that the Chaser was going to try to score, Drake surged forward, forgetting about the three goal posts behind him. He was going to snatch the Quaffle right out of the air, if not right out of the boy's hands. Inches away, Drake reached for the Quaffle (which at this point was still very possibly in the Chaser's possession). He knew that his move was somewhat brash and that all the boy would have to do is somehow avoid Drake's lunge and then there'd be three wide open goal posts at which he'd have an easy attempt to score. While trying to block the Quaffle though, Drake felt the physical contact of his body with another. He wasn't sure who he had collided with, as many of the other Chasers were gathered in the vicinity by then, but he didn't care. All that mattered to Drake was that he flew out of the chaos with the Quaffle in his possession. ((Attempting to steal block Scott's shot on goal. ...And dodging the Bludger.))

Josephine slipped through the pitch with ease, her blue eyes every now and then darting back down to the game, watching the chaos of the Slytherin team try to gain possession of the Quaffle and then her eyes landed on the idioctic move that Manning was attempting, she had half a mind to curse him where he flew, but maybe the move would pay off...or maybe it wouldn't. Josephine felt her skin boil at the thought knowing that she would be doing a better job by staying BY the goals rather than trying to be a bloody chaser. She muttered as she continued on, her eyes just then catching sight of the bludger that was headed right for her. "Bloody Gryffindor beaters," she muttered to herself as she tried to dive to avoid being taken out by a bludger this early in the game...her eyes still darting out in search of the snitch.

Caleb was not happy with himself that he missed the Quaffle...he had nearly had it...his fingers had grazed it, but he still didn't have it. He scowled as he flipped his broom around and shot off after the Gryffindor. His mind on the game fully as he watched with a quirked brow as Drake shot forward from the goals attempting to take out the Gryffindor. Caleb smirked a little at his attempt before he picked up speed in his attempt to take out the Gryffindor and let Drake return to his post. However at this point in time if something wasn't done about Ryder he would score, so the smirk broadened as Caleb didn't veer from his course toward him, slamming into him in his attempt to steal the quaffle or at the very least knock the kid out so he couldn't score.

Dylan watched as his bludger was deflected by Cassandra, and was now flying at Josephine. He also noticed Riley pass the quaffle to Scott. Dylan bit his bottom lip. This was a game. He had to do what was necessary, and Scott was aiming to score. Dylan knew he wouldn't take it personally, but he had never played in a quidditch match against a friend before. Shaking his head, he flew forward.

Once again there was a Bludger flying at Rex. And once again, his own personal bodyguard came to the rescue. "Cheers Melody," he called to her. "I think you should stay by my side for the rest of the game," he added with a smirk. Rex then rose high above the pitch to get a good view of the entire field. He also wanted to remove himself from the game a little so that he would not be such an easy target. The Slytherin captain seemed out to get him. Well, maybe not him per se but at least the Seeker. And why not? If Rex caught the Snitch this early in the game then it would be an easy win for Gryffindor. That would make the rest of the school happy. All except Slytherins, and what did they matter anyway?

Olivia snarled as she noticed the Gryffindor team taking the lead. She couldn't be letting this happen. Because of her attitude problems, most of the team didn't like her very much, especially those like Wynd Lehane. She knew for a fact that the older boy, Donnely wasn't too fond of Olivia and Wynd for their constant arguments, but it really wasn't her fault. Wynd was always the one who started these little fights.
But Olivia couldn't worry herself about that now. She was trying to figure out how to get herself into a position to win. She remained in areas where if one of her fellow chasers caught the Quaffle, they could easily pass it to her. Plus she was avoiding any bludgers that could have been accidently flying her way. So, she figured it was probably time to get herself into the game. She had been too distant up until now. So, she tried to gang up on the Gryffindor with the Quaffle. Wynd had tried yelling something about blankets (maybe he wanted her to get his blankie because he was scared?) as she as well as the other two chasers attempted to gang up on the Gryffindor and take the Quaffle from him. Hopefully one of the three would force the thing off him.
((attempting to take the Quaffle))
NOTE: Olivia would not be able to attempt stealing. Only one Chaser can attempt to steal in a round. One can also try to intercept. Although, it is not possible to intercept a shot on goal, only a pass. Since Caleb has already posted trying to steal, Olivia cannot. As for Drake, he's the Keeper, and though his action resembles him trying to steal, he's actually defending the goals, so it doesn't constitute as stealing.

Quickly, Cassandra. You need to keep moving, her focus moved with the quaffle. Her job was to protect the chasers and the quaffle at all costs. Nothing was going to stand in the way of her chasers scoring. Scott now had the red ball in his hands. He was heading to the goals that stood at the end of the stadium. Dylan batted the bludger in his direction. Didn't these balls know not to go around the slytherin beaters when her team had possession? Skidding to an almost stop in the air, she placed herself between Scott and the bludger. ((defending Scott, deflecting towards Josephine)) ((Cass, you are getting ahead of yourself! That brat! Right before Mary’s eyes that little kid, Melody, sent the bludger in another direction again! If that kid didn’t go professional in the future it was a waste of talent, apparently she could do no wrong. Heck, looking around the field apparently Gryffindor could do no wrong. No matter how strong her chasers were they were being dominated by the Gryffindors. All her bludgers were being wacked away by the kid, despite Mary feeling at the top of her game. It was really, really annoying.
The other direction of the bludger happened to be towards Drake, who happened to have a chaser on him with the quaffle. What was up with this game? And that sour look on Drake’s face? “Come on now, get in the game or get out of it!” Mary hollered at her keeper as she zoomed past to save his behind.
As she got close to the bludger Mary heard the familiar “zoom” sound as it flew through the air. Swinging her bat Mary waited for the ever familiar “thunk” of wood on metal that always resonated through her arm in a satisfying way; painful way back in her third year.

((Olivia: as Drake and Mary have rightfully said, you cannot steal the Quaffle when Caleb is already doing so; whoever posts first with a particular action will be the one who counts as doing the action. It is not possible to intercept in this situation, as Scott is attempting a shot on goal, not a pass - that is left for the goalkeeper, i.e. Drake, to defend. Do not worry, though - there is not much else Olivia could have done for this round.
Cassandra: your action is also void because it has not been rolled in that round yet whether or not Dylan is successful in defending Josephine, therefore it cannot be determined that there would be a Bludger flying at Scott for Cass to defend. You may post this action in this round if that is the case. However, do not be too disheartened; like Olivia, there was not much else you could have done, as both Bludgers are in play. One minute it was all bright and sunny and the next Josephine found herself trying to keep from falling off her broom as a large...powerfully evil thing slammed right into her side. "Bloody freaking bludgers!" she exclaimed her hand immediately going to rub at the area of the largest pain, her flight pattern all blown to hell as she tried to concentrate on what was going on. That of course was a bust...and her arm very nearly in the same condition. A part screamed to her to get off the field and seek Madam Pomfrey, but Josephine wasn't about to let down her team. This was a minor injury and Gryffindor had just scored!! No...there was no time to play healer when she was needed. Josephine finally came back around, the second swoop around the quidditch pitch...very high up and hopefully out of range of Fallon's damn bludgers. She needed to get her head back in the game so she could find the snitch and get everything over with. Josephine had no intention of dealing with the annoying Gryffindors any longer than she had too, which if luck would have it wouldn't be too much longer. Left arm was pressed to her stomach trying to keep it still as much as possible for the time being, to conserve it's strength and energy for any moments she'd need to dodge another bludger. Honestly though she was about ready to just fly down and take Dylan's bat and hit Fallon with it herself. If she was hit by another one, then she probably would. As Drake had lunged forward to try to block the Gryffindor from scoring, he realized that his fellow seventh year, Caleb, was also trying to hinder the efforts of the Chaser. In fact, the collision that Drake felt was not with the Gryffindor, but with Caleb. "Wrong scoring area, Donnelly. You belong in the other end where you can actually add some points to our name." Drake's irritation spun from the fact that he failed miserably to stop the Gryffindor Chaser. Just then, Mary zoomed by, after the Bludger that seemed to be heading Drake's way, and she threw some verbal spat at him. Drake was too irritated to care much of what she was hissing at him, but he retorted nonetheless. "I went after him, didn't I?" Drake's comeback was short lived as he watched the leather Quaffle soar through the topmost goal. "Dammit!"
To avoid another biting remark from Mary, Drake flew fast to retrieve the Quaffle as the announcer was praising the ten points which would put Gryffindor in the first lead of the game. Drake scowled at the Chaser who had scored. Ryder, as the commentator had called him, would get what he deserved. Next time, Drake would be sure that his brute strength was put to use.
Half tempted to just take the Quaffle and surge to the other end to score (Why not? Keepers did it in the old days when the sport was first invented), Drake scanned the pitch, figuring the best way to just get all of the action away from his end and send it toward the opposing goal posts. He wasn't going to pass it to Caleb. Drake was annoyed with him still, despite knowing that the two of them could have worked well together the squash the Quaffle from the Gryffindor's hand. This left either Wynd or Olivia, the two quarrelsome Chasers whose antics were more than annoying to Drake as well. "Hell, why not...?" Drake attempted to throw the Quaffle toward Wynd.

Thinking that he was in the perfect position to score, Scott was quite surprised whenever two of the larger Slytherin players were suddenly right on top of him, a red and green sandwich in which he was the meat. Scott gripped the Quaffle tightly as he looped downward, hoping that the two brutes would collide with one another instead of him. Luckily, his plan worked, and Scott saw a wide open goal post in front of him. Easily, he threw the Quaffle into the hoop, just before the Slytherin Keeper zoomed in to snatch it from the other side.
Scott suppressed the small smile that was the result of having scored the first goal of the match. Even better, it was the first goal of the Quidditch season, and against Slytherin at that. His excitement gave him a boost of energy, and despite noting the annoyed look on the Keeper's face, Scott decided he'd zoom back toward him for some more action. He wasn't about to back down.
In a quick effort, Scott found himself side by side with the Keeper, knowing that he was definitely out-muscled. He didn't care though, as he waited for Drake to make a move. When he did, Scott was right there, ready to snatch the Quaffle from the air as it was being passed to the Slytherin Chasers.

Melody laughed at Rex's comment, but was unable to think of a suitable reply. While she appreciated his acknowledgement (it kept her from loneliness), it was probably best that she didn't encourage him to keep on distracting himself, seeing as he was happy to keep on talking. She watched the fast-paced game progress at its usual alarming rate, noting with a little satisfaction that Cassandra had been the first Beater to break through the enemy defences, although that was bad news for the Slytherin Seeker who had been hurt as a result of it. It was better for her team's morale, though, not to sustain the first Bludger hit, and she felt pleased that Cassandra and herself had managed to ensure that.
Not even needing help from her Bludger, Scott had scored! That was definitely something to cheer about, and Melody did so with great enthusiasm. The noise from the stadium seemed to have gone up a couple of notches. She knew that up here, the noise level wasn't as deafening as it was in the stands. There was some sense of isolation, which she usually found a little disconcerting. But today, she was extremely happy to be a part of the Gryffindor team.
The Head Girl seemed to be playing something like a rally with the Bludger that she and Melody kept on hitting between them. Melody hoped that she wouldn't be the first one to miss the formidable ball. "Ah think thoo might need me to!" she called to Rex in order to warn him, finally having an answer for his joking comment. She concentrated on the path of the Bludger that was once again headed his way, her main concern being to avoid their Seeker getting hurt. She'd chosen the obvious direction to try to deflect it in.

“Look at you two! Fighting at a time like this!” Mary hollered at Caleb and Drake moments after Gryffindor scored. She was fuming, Drake had seemed sour all day but that was enough, picking fights with team members after flinging himself into the fray when the chaser was right there…
Not only that, but Mary saw her seeker shaking herself off after a bad hit from a bludger. Her team was falling apart. At least her own bludger had not hit Drake and was now after the seeker again but still… this was a disaster, terrible for team moral, apparently. “You know what, get off. You two just go calm down on the bench.” Mary said to the pair, waving them off. “Fallon, St John, get up here, now!” Mary hollered toward the bench.
For the two it was their first game but Mary felt confident, if not a little annoyed. Adalia was a bit wavy, no one had ever taken her as the quidditch type, but she would be better than Drake today. As for Julian… let’s see Cassandra go after her precious Julian. Besides, the guy wasn’t bad. Plus Mary had no time to deal with fighting in her team right now, the game was going down the drain already.
Finding the offending bludger, the one that maimed her seeker, Mary decided that her last bit of frustration could go towards the other team’s captain, Cassandra. Deciding to settle her head with one good whack Mary sent the bludger flying at Logton with all her strength behind it.
