Ravenclaw vs. Gryffindor

Right about now, Rex wished that he had a device to listen to music. The crowd was being so loud as the Quaffle passed from Chaser to Chaser team to team. It almost made it difficult to search for the Snitch. Almost. With some type of music he could pretend to be in his own world. Just like Harmony did when she was listening to music and dancing. She literally was in her own world. Heehee... Harmony... How proud would she be of him if he caught the Snitch?

Yes! Celia smiled as the quaffle landed neatly in her hands-what a great pass that was from Theo and she smiled over at him quickly before heading for the goal. Hopefully she'd be able to score again, but this time Casey was on the ball and would be harder to shoot against. She decided to use the same tactic as last time-shoot from above-seeing how effective that was last time. Actually...Casey would be looking out for that, so she decided to do a swift change-at-last-second shot. She flew closer, heading towards the left hoop, but at the last second threw it towards the right, hoping it would go through the hoop and Casey wouldn't be able to catch up with it.

After she watched the progress of the quaffle, she turned around and saw a bludger heading towards her. Judging by the look on Cass's face, Celia assumed that it was the older of the beaters that had hot the bludger this time, and not Melody. It was heading straight towards her, but luckily Stewart was again trying to defend her. She tried to swerve away from the iron ball, just incase Stewart missed.

Casey grinned as she saved the quaffle. Yay. She was glad that she hadn't missed another shot. Casey was screaming and cheering on the inside she was so excited. Gryffindor was having a great game and that save just made it even better for Casey. She smiled slightly as she eyed Rex and the other Seeker still searching for the snitch. Hopefully he would find it soon. Casey eyed the chasers to find one who was open to receive the quaffle.

Jasmine watched the chasers for a while sighing as Gryffindor seemed to have the upper hand today. Especially that second year beater. She had already hit Jasmine maybe four times. She had stooped counting after the third hit. There were going to be bruises on her ribs in the morning. Sighing as the Gryffindor keeper caught the quaffle, Jasmine smiled toward the chasers before looking down at the reserve bench. Adrianna would need to come back into the game soon. Noticing a hint of gold in the far end of the pitch, Jasmine flew toward it, keeping an eye out for any bludgers.

"Oi! Rex!," Cass called over the young seeker. They both flew up to see Madame Hooch. "You've played an awesome game, but you look a little tired. I know this is odd, Madame Hooch, but I want to substitute Rex for AJ." Cass patted Rex on the back and went back into the game. She watched as Rex floated down to the ground. She had kept her small squeal of excitement as Casey caught the quaffle. She was going to have to take all of her chaser's for a big dinner in Hogsmeade after this game. They were all wonderful. However, she was slowly chewing her lip trying to decide what she was going to do next year without Zara. Cass sighed. That something to worry about later.

With her seeker change, she now noticed that Jasmine was intently looking for the snith. Well, now, Cass couldn't let that happen. She waited for the oncoming bludger, and soon it was heading in Jasmine's direction.

[Melody Bang-Bala G6]

The Ravenclaw Vice Captain was very impressive, dodging two Bludgers and then managing an attempt on goal all in very quick succession. Melody didn't begrudge Celia her talent one little bit (especially since Casey had managed to save the goal) - she liked watching the quickly moving Chasers and the Ravenclaw's skilful dodging was really quite spectacular. However, the older girl had just proved once again what a threat she could be to the Gryffindor's lead, and Melody didn't really want to allow that. The play was still close to the Gryffindor goals and with manoeuvres that good, Celia could easily get another shot on goal if she got hold of the Quaffle again. Cassandra was already hitting a Bludger at Jasmine, so that left Melody with the freedom to target Celia again, and she used the opportunity to give one of the Bludgers Celia had just dodged a nudge back in the direction it had come from.

Awww no! Casey had managed to save the goal, and Celia automatically frowned-this wasn't good. The keeper now had the quaffle, but the Ravens needed to rack up the goals. She needed to get the quaffle back ASAP. Casey was trying to pass to Scott, and so Celia decided to try to intercept, hoping she'd be more successful this time. She couldn't let the Gryffs get possession again and score yet another goal!

Then she saw a bludger coming her way from Melody, and so had to dodge that too. She couldn't believe how was Melody was doing this game, she really couldn't. She really didn't want to be hit again-bludgers were painful!

Cass scrutinized her a team for a moment. "Madame Hooch!" Cass made her eay to the Quidditch referee. "I think I made a hasty decision in my line up change. I'm going to be subbed in as Keeper, AJ is going to the beater position, Scott is going to the seeker position, and Casey will be replacing Scott as chaser." Cass smiled and then whispered a thank you as she flew off. She always felt that she was being imposing when she changed her line up like this, but some things couldn't be helped. Her team was up, and she wasn't going to lose that lead over a line up problem. She could almost hear her broom squeal as she put herself back into the quidditch match. Where was the snitch anyways? It seemed to be hiding in one of the upper echelons of the sky. That darn thing could always be so elusive. She positioned herself in front of the goals waiting for the quaffle to come her way.

Whatever the heck was going on with Gryffindor team Stewart couldn't fathom but Melody was definitely on a roll. However he was going to defend Jasmine and hope Celia would manage to dodge that last Bludger.

Yes! The quaffle flew right into her hands as Casey tried to pass to Scott. Celia was also in a perfect place to try and shoot, so she once again decided to do her favourite shot and flew upwards to shoot from above. She wanted to score again, and hoped that Cassandra, who'd just subbed herself in as keeper, wouldn't catch it this time. Also, it would be trickier, as that pesky bludger was still heading her way-she really hoped she'd be able to avoid this one. Hopefully the game would be over soon anyway-she'd just seen Jazz, and hoped she'd seen the snitch.

Casey nodded when she learned that she was switching to chaser. She didn't mind being keeper, but she much preferred the Chaser position. Casey liked being out in the middle of all the action. Besides, she was a much better chaser than keeper. Casey zoomed into the action and it was about that time that Celia lost control of the quaffle. Without making a noise, Casey chased after it, hoping that she could regain it for Gryffindor. Gryffindor had, had a great game so far, but it wasn't over yet.

Jamison shook his head as a bludger hit Celia. He wasn't fast enough and he couldn't defend her. He mouthed a sorry and then jetted of to that quaffle. Jamison wanted to win the match so badly that at this point, he would do what ever it took. He eyed the Gryffindor players and searched for a good target. He finally spotted Scott searching for the snitch and decide that he was the best option. Jamison gained speed to catch up with the bludger.

Melody had a little time to sit back (on her broom) and watch what was happening in the game - that was the reward for both Bludgers being headed towards Ravenclaw players. She saw her tactic of aiming for the Ravenclaw Chaser she thought it most likely to take possession of the Quaffle pay off once again, because once again a Bludger caused chaos amongst the Chasers - where before Celia had looked like she was going to make an attempt on goal uncontested by any of the Gryffindor Chasers, now the Quaffle was once again loose and Casey had been given enough time to adjust to her new role as Chaser that she was now trying to claim it for the Gryffindor side. Melody was pleased to see a Gryffindor Chaser in action - she had felt that they'd been getting a little bit complacent after their four goals and allowing Ravenclaw to take back some of the advantage. But the Quaffle was still dangerously near to the Gryffindor goalposts, and Casey was threatened by a Bludger that Stewart had deflected towards her.

Melody felt that she was stuck in a difficult situation, because there was a Bludger headed at Casey, who was the most important Gryffindor Chaser right now because she was the one involved in play, but there was also a Bludger headed at Scott, who was arguably the most important member of the entire team right now since he'd been switched to the role of Seeker. And she didn't feel that she could rely on AJ. Perhaps her expectations were too high, since she wanted him to adjust to the game immediately and pull his weight as a Beater, when he'd just been substituted on in an unusual role, and then immediately switched to Beater, which must have been a bit disorientating even though he had at least proved that he made a credible Beater. Melody didn't really attach that much use to him anyway, though... during practices she'd observed more evidence of posturing than she had of actual talent or hard work, either one of which would have been preferable.

It was going to have to be Casey that she defended. She was much closer to Casey, for a start, so she had a more realistic chance of defending her, and secondly, she didn't want to allow the advantage that she'd just created for Gryffindor to be counteracted in just the same way by Stewart. But she could at least try to sort out the situation for Scott from a distance.
"AJ, could thoo look to SCOTT please?" she shouted out to the older boy, also shouting Scott's name very loudly in the hope that the fifth year would hear and be warned in case AJ didn't get his act together in time. It perhaps wasn't her place (normally a mere reserve) to go giving orders to a sixth year, but on the other hand, it was much more important that Scott get defended properly, whether or not that meant her overstepping her station in life. Besides, actually right now then it was AJ who had something to prove rather than Melody.

Anyway, never mind all that. She had her own Bludger to tackle. Melody positioned herself carefully to try to deflect it and, since the Ravenclaws were trying to unsettle their newly substituted Seeker, she decided to continue with Jasmine as her prime target.

Wow! Little Melody certainly was getting into the game! She was proud of the second year as she bellowed to the other beater. She would make a fine quidditch captain one day. Casey looked almost exuberant as she subbed her in as chaser. The girl probably preferred the position, and everyone had their likes. Cass loved playing keeper, but sometimes it was nice to pick up a beater's bat to let the other team have it. Cass surveyed the pitch. No hint to the little golden fleck that would end the game. As long as Gryffindor stayed up in points, Cass felt that they had a good chance at winning this game. Scott was an excellent seeker. She had great faith in him that he would find the snitch.

What the HECK were the Ravenclaws doing! Stewart took grim satisfaction in the fact that the other Beater had FINALLY managed to hit one of the Gryffindors, but his happiness was short-lived. Celia had dropped the Quaffle, not really her fault since she'd just been hit by a Bludger, but the other Ravenclaw Chasers seemed to have lost all focus and just let it practically fly into Casey's arms. He swore loudly as he flew to defend Jasmine, deflecting towards Casey as he started to wonder if there was any hope left.

Casey grinned as she caught the quaffle. And Melody defended her against the bludger so that was out of the way for the moment. Casey eyed her fellow chasers trying to find the best one to pass. She finally spotted Lenora and nodded to her. It was about then that Casey noticed another quaffle heading her way. She shook her head and still tried to pass the quaffle to Lenora.
