Still nothing. This was getting really boring. Rex was the sort of person that usually gave up on something if nothing happened. That's why he always hated the muggle sport fishing. Nothing ever happened. Ever. It was just like this game right now. He was not finding the golden ball and it was becoming very boring. Their captain switched places and took over as Beater, probably because nothing was happening on her end of the pitch. The Quaffle seemed to be lodged at the Ravenclaw goal as Gryffindor scored again. Maybe Rex wouldn't have to catch the Snitch after all. If the Chasers scored enough goals, it wouldn't matter if the Ravenclaw Seeker caught the Snitch or not. But that was still a long way off.

Melody's Bludger was even more successful than she'd anticipated. Both the Ravenclaw Beaters seemed to be occupied with defending the Chaser, and so they neglected to defend their Keeper. She felt a bit sorry for the fourth year boy - Keepers didn't usually get picked on too much, and of course it had taken his fate out of his own hands as he'd been rather unable to defend the goals. But it had been successful. She reckoned that she had the time to cheer at Zara's goal (a goal which, for once, she'd played quite a major part in!) before moving back into play.
The two Ravenclaw Beaters were closer than her to the Bludger which had hit the blonde-haired Chaser, so she didn't think that there was any point trying to get to that one before them, although just perhaps Cassandra would stand a chance. Melody, of course, went for the one that had caused trouble at the Ravenclaw goals. It had passed a little way beyond the spot with the greatest concentration of Chasers now, so she wasn't getting in anyone's way. She hit the Bludger towards Jasmine again, because she knew that the Ravenclaw Seeker had a sharp eye and could easily take the game back off Gryffindor again if allowed to search for the Snitch.

((Sorry I've not been here for a few days! Going back a few rounds...))
Yes! Theo managed to steal the quaffle from Scott! But his possession didn't last long, as when he tried to pass Lenora intercepted. Theo tried to steal it back, but Lenora kept it and successfully passed to Zara...again! Then the worst thing happened...although Elaine (appearing out of nowhere!) tried to steal, Zara kept the quaffle and scored again. 30 - 0 to Gryffindor, it really wasn't good at all! August now had the quaffle, so Celia positioned herself so hopefully she'd be able to recieve the pass he made. She really wanted to get the quaffle and have the chance to score.
Well, to be honest she couldn't blame August for missing this goal-he had just been hit by a bludger. there hadn't been many other bludger casualties though many bludgers had been hit. Melody was doing her job as a beater very well, having hit August and Theo, aswell as others over the course of the game. The seekers were now busier than ever it seemed. But for now she concentrated on the game, and hopefully catching the quaffle, though Zara was now trying to intercept the pass.

August's side hurt worse than he could ever remember. Being hit by the Bludger had knocked the wind out of him and while he was recovering, Gryffindor had managed to make another goal. August hoped that Jasmine would soon catch the bloody Snitch so then this awful game would soon be over. This day was going from bad to worse with no signs of getting better. Again, August scanned the three Chasers and Celia seemed to be open. Hopefully this time, she would catch it. As soon as the ball had left his hands though, he saw Zara fly to intercept it. The Gryffindor Chasers had been intercepting all the passes and August had no doubt that she would catch this one. Things looked pretty hopeless. It was all up to Jasmine now.

Darn it, the Gryffindors had scored again, Theo thought with a grim expression. He could see Scott was pretty delighted a bit of a distance away, and that softened the blow to his Ravenclaw pride just a little. However, he wasn't satisfied at all, and felt his competitiveness bang against the doors of his mind. Theo always kept himself in check, but perhaps it would be best to launch everything he had into the game, otherwise, they would lose this all-vital game to the Gryffindors. Why was it the Gryffindors were always so good at Quidditch? Theo shook his head; maybe it was because they were even more competitive when it came to the sport than Ravenclaw were. Generally, the Ravenclaws excelled in the classroom, but Theo was aware that the red and green houses put a lot of time into Quidditch; they had a lot of good players at their disposal. Not that the Ravenclaw team wasn't good, Theo countered as he looked around the pitch at his teammates. The rest of the players with him today were the best of the best, and he was proud to be one of them. However, they weren't playing their very best, and that was seriously frustrating.
Theo could only groan when August's pass to Celia landed short again - in Zara's arms. Goodness, why was the Gryffindor Vice-Captain so good today? Theo cursed as he shot forwards for the second time that day to attempt to steal from the older girl. He wasn't the slightest bit daunted, even though she was of the opposite gender and was more experienced than him. She may have outwitted him last time, but Theo wanted to prove... knew he could prove he could be just as good. He daren't say he was better at the moment, but he wanted to become better, and hopefully, Zara was an obstacle he would one day be able to overcome.

Zara's fingers tickled the edge of the Quaffle, and she snatched it quickly out of Celia's grasp for the umpteenth time that morning. Feeling slightly apologetic towards the Ravenclaw, and yet triumphant again, Zara held the ball close to her chest as she veered her broom around to face poor August Reid for the fourth time. She hoped going for goal again wouldn't be too ambitious of her, but she was desperate for Gryffindor to win, and she was flying on such a high right now - another chance wouldn't hurt. Zara honestly didn't care about having the limelight, but she was determined to make an impact on the game for her team and house. She hated to stand back and be apathetic, because Zara wasn't an apathetic kind of person. Really, if you were one, then Quidditch probably wasn't the sport for you. Holding the Quaffle protectively, Zara saw Theo rise to come at her again, obviously attempting steal it. Eyes flashing with resolution, Zara prepared to dodge the younger boy and throw the Quaffle at the goals.

Jamison shook his head. The Gryffindors were having a great game, but he had to keep going. The match wasn't over yet after all. He really wanted for Ravenclaw to win this game. He wanted his last match to be a victory, but for the moment he was doubting it. Still, the snitch did decide the game so there was a chance to win. Why did Jasmine seem to be the target of the game? Jamison wished he had gotten to her before the bludger struck, but he was surrounded by a head of players. He did however make it over to that same bludger as he searched for a Gryffindor Player to hit it at. He finally spotted Rex searching for the snitch and decided that he was the best target.

Cass hollered in joy as her team scored again. "You are doing awesome, Zara! Keep it up!" She soared around the pitch again. "Melody, try to take out their seeker! I'm going to go for their chasers!" Cass bellowed to the younger girl who played beater. Cass swerved around and swung her beater's bat to an oncoming bludger.

Just as he suspected, Zara had caught the Quaffle that was supposed to be in Celia's outstretched arms. August sighed heavily. He wasn't doing anything in the game well today. He wondered if his brother's were watching. Bronsen would most likely support August and tell him to keep going. But then again, he could be thinking about velocity and angles and all that. Jack would no doubt be laughing at his brother's plight. It would be just like Jack. He was probably sitting with a bunch of Slytherins having a good chuckle about all of this. That sight in August's mind made him angry and gave him strength to go on. Zara was coming around for another score. He would save it this time. Then who would be laughing Jack?

It was sort of neat to be the Seeker. You got to notice the little details of the pitch that many of the other players were too busy to notice. For instance, the corner in which Rex was now searching had lost some of its paint. Not really an important detail, but Rex was bored bored bored! He had envisioned the role of Seeker as one with glory and fun. But flying from one end of the pitch to the other while all the action was happening with the Chasers was dull. There had been no sighting of the golden ball from either Seeker. The only excitement came when an occasional Bludger was sent at him. Like now for instance. Rex took evasive action not really worried about it. But where was that bloody golden thing?

Melody still seemed to be wreaking havoc everywhere she went. Perhaps she should carry her Beater's bat around with her when she went to lessons - it might well make some of the lessons a little more interesting. She grinned as she thought of the 'musical' clanging symphony which could take place in the Potions dungeons. Potions was one of her least favourite lessons. If only it were possible to cheer poor, cynical Professor Snape with his ultra-pointy wit up in such a way. She could just imagine his hooked nose swooping down upon her now. No, perhaps she wouldn't do that. Still, it was a fun scenario to imagine. Perhaps she'd picked up some of Dana's mischief when she'd had the honour of the older girl's friendship.
There was work for her to do as a Beater, though - she really shouldn't start daydreaming now! Jamison Parson had just hit a Bludger at Rex, so Melody zoomed off to intercept that, giving a curt nod at her Captain's instructions. What did Cassandra think that she'd been doing for the entire duration of the game? Melody would do as she was told, but she really did feel a bit sorry for Sapphire's best friend - Melody had already hit her about... three times? Had Cassandra failed to notice? Anyway, the Bludger had to be deflected away from Rex before it could start heading at the Ravenclaw Seeker again. Melody took a big swing at the iron ball, wanting to make sure she got lots of power into her hit.

Not again! Gryffindor scored yet another goal, and once again it was by Zara, the same person who scored the first three. Was she really that good, or was it August? He didn't seem to be doing that badly, but somehow Zara was putting one goal after another right past him and through the hoops. At this rate, Jasmine knew she needed to catch the Snitch sooner rather than later. Gryffindor seemed to be on a roll that couldn't be stopped. Instead of letting herself worry too much about it, Jasmine focused extra hard on trying to find the Snitch. There was no way that, as the captain, she was going to let Rex find the Snitch before her and allow Gryffindor to pull a complete shutout of the Ravenclaw team. Her eyes darted from one end of the pitch to the other as she searched furiously for the small golden ball.

Apparently Zara had woke up on the right side of the bed. She was playing a stellar game, and her skills had put Gryffindor in a comfortable lead. Granted, the Snitch could change that at any point, but Scott felt that their playing was still demonstrating just how good the Gryffindor team could be when they were playing together. Cass hadn't even had to do much aside from cheering her team on from the goalpost. The Gryffindor chasers seemed to have possession of the Quaffle for at least sixty percent of the time, and then Melody seemed to be the only Beater who had a good handle on where the Bludgers were at all times and where they would be heading.
As August got the Quaffle after the fourth Gryffindor goal, Scott eyed him carefully. Last time he had been able to intercept the pass, and perhaps it would happen again. The only problem was that he couldn't decide who August would throw it to this time. Taking a chance, Scott decided to go after his best friend. Theo was nearby, and so Scott flew over to him so that he was in between August and Theo. Any pass would have to make its way through Scott's defense. Theo wasn't staying still though, which made defending him that much more difficult. Scott simply smiled to himself though as he worked to stay on Theo's tail. At least Theo didn't seem to be a poor sport. Even with Ravenclaw not doing very well, Theo was still trying his hardest. Scott admired him for that, but was determined nonetheless to prevent any pass from getting to him.

Excellent! Excellent!, Cass squealed in delight to herself. All of her players were playing splendidly. Cass could already feel that rush of excitement that she always felt when her seeker caught the snitch at the end of the game. In her tenure as captain, she had never lost a game. Today, she looked like she was going to continue that streak. Diving back into action, Cassandra watched the Ravenclaw team like the eagle's they were associated with. They didn't seem to have it together. The Captain began to relax a bit as she hit another bludger towards the opposing team.

Nooo! Not again! The game was going awfully-it was a nightmare! When August tried to pass to her, Zara, not surprisingly (she really was on form today...it was a shame she wasn't a Ravenclaw like her twin...she wondered how Sapphire would be when it came to quidditch, though Celia got the impression that she wasn't as outgoing as her twin, and not into quidditch as much. She probably heard enough about it from Jazz, her best friend, being the team captain.), managed to intercept the pass again. And then, for the fourth time this game managed to shoot and score past August...40 - 0...Celia really did need to do something with the team, but she didn't have much room for change.
August once again had the quaffle, and didn't seem to know where to pass it. Celia spotted a free space, which she flew to, though Theo was also free. However, Scott was now prepared to intercept any pass to Theo, so hopefully August would pass to her. But then Zara would probably intercept and score once again. If only the seekers could hurry up and spot the snitch...which she really hoped Jazz would catch. Now THAT would shatter the Gryff's confidence, not to mention really annoy them. They deserved it-after all, that's what they did to Hufflepuff in their last game. And Ravenclaw deserved to win after their loss against Slytherin not long ago.
But then there were the beaters...Melody was doing a fantastic job, Celia had to admit, though she wished she could say the same for her own beaters. It didn't help that she kept hitting the bludger towards Jazz though, but then it was her job as a beater to reduce the chance of the other team winning as much as possible, so distracting the seeker was the best thing they could do. Cass who hadn't hit as many bludgers had a grin on her face from the looks of things as she hit the other bludger. It took a few milliseconds for Celia to realise that it was heading towards her, and she carefully tried to dodge it. The pain from the last hit had basically worn off by now, but she didn't want to be distracted.

The game was spinning on fast and it was safe to say that Gryffindor was playing a great game. Jamison shook his head as they made yet another goal. August was a good keeper, it was just that the Gryffindor players were just as good. Jamison gained speed on his broom. Hopefully Jazz could catch the snitch soon. But then again Rex also had a change of catching it. Jamison then saw a bludger that was again heading for Jasmine. "Watch out Jazz!" He called before nearing the bludger to defend her.

Zara had scored once again. With each goal, August was reminded why he disliked Gryffindor. They were very prideful and being able to score four times in a row certainly went to their heads. August once again found himself with the Quaffle. He looked at Celia awaiting the ball. No offence to her, but he had already tried to pass to her three times with no luck. He next looked to Theo, the older Ravenclaw who August greatly looked up to. He was being covered by a Gryffindor boy. The only other option was Elaine. Here goes nothing... August thought.

Gryffindor had scored once again. The Chasers were certainly making it easy for Rex. Everyone was concentrated on what was happening at the Ravenclaw goal and not paying him the least bit attention. That suited him just fine. When Rex was flying he could pretend that he was the only one in the world. The only thing that brought him back to Earth was that little reminder in his mind that he was supposed to be looking for something. Were was it?
