Zara whooped as she scored again - 20-0 to Gryffindor! Again, the Gryffindor crowd went wild with glee and delight, as the Ravenclaw supporters really did look bluer than ever. Grinning proudly, Zara felt a surge of happiness from within, before dispelling it to concentrate again at the match at hand. August had the Quaffle again, and although Zara was tempted to go forward to intercept his pass for the second time, most likely to Celia once more, she saw Scott making a move out of the corner of her eye, and decided to let the enthusiastic younger boy take the challenge. She hovered guardedly in midair, balancing expertly on her broom as she eyed the players' movements with discerning eyes. Any data she gathered and learnt from the opposing team may help in the future, right? However, Zara's concentration was broken when she heard a familiar whooshing noise from behind, and heard Melody's high-pitched shriek at her from a distance to whip around and see the pelting black Bludger coming her way. One quick glance overhead confirmed that it was Adriahna Dynes, a Ravenclaw fifth year, who had hit the darn thing, and cursing under her breath, Zara immediately took Melody's screamed advice and tried to turn in the air to avoid impact that would no doubt be painful.

Well, so much for that! August had tried to pass the Quaffle away just to have it be scored on him again. August zoomed after the Quaffle and sighed to himself. Maybe he was better at playing a Beater rather than a Keeper. But too late for regrets now! That's what he wanted to be, and that is what he was going to be. Looking at his three Chasers, it seemed that Celia was wanting another chance to catch the Quaffle. Where was Jasmine and why hadn't she caught the Snitch yet? August sighed to himself again and tried to let it go. Yes, two goals had been scored but that didn't mean anything. There was still time.

Where was Stace in all this? Gryffindor was winning and Rex wanted to brag. He looked though the stands but soon remembered that just because the Chasers were doing their job, didn't mean that Rex could slack off. The game would continue for ever if he didn't catch the golden ball. Although he really wasn't worried at this point. The Ravenclaw Keeper seemed to be asleep on his broom and the Ravenclaw Seeker did not seem to be having any better luck than he was. Just then Rex noticed a Bludger heading straight toward him! That wasn't very nice. If he had been playing Beater he would have sent that ball back to the Beater that sent it at him.

Theo couldn't believe Zara had scored again. He glanced at August worriedly, maybe the fourth year boy was having an off-day. Theo hoped his friend wouldn't take it to heart after the game; after all, it was not all about winning, and as long as August was happy with his performance, then nothing else should matter. Concentrating on his own task at hand, Theo watched as August prepared to launch the Quaffle at Celia again. However, Scott was, like Zara had been previously, flying forwards to intercept the pass again, much to Theo's alarm. His other friend was just as lethal in the Chaser position in comparison to when he played Seeker, Theo noted mentally. He was happy for Scott though, and did not begrudge him his skills, but he decided he had to work harder to meet the standards of the Gryffindor boy. Theo wasn't surprised when Scott managed to catch the Quaffle from Celia's grasp, and Theo felt a pang of sympathy for not only August, but Celia; his Vice-Captain was probably becoming frustrated with the two times Gryffindor had scored, as well as being denied the ball twice by the opposing team. Smiling grimly, Theo surged forwards towards Scott for the second time that morning; he had to succeed this time. He decided he had to be more insistent than when he had tried to snatch the Quaffle, otherwise Ravenclaw would lose its first match with Theo on the main team, and he really did not want that. "Here I come, Scott." Theo thought determinely as the other boy poised to shoot again.

Melody was pleased as she made solid contact with the Bludger and it soared on a harmless trajectory a good way underneath Rex's broom. There, she hadn't let her teammate get harmed, so she'd done good in the game. She glanced over to Zara and was glad to find that Sapphire's sister also looked all right. It would have made Melody feel bad if she'd failed to come to the rescue of the twin sister of someone who had come to her own rescue, at cost to themselves. She whooped at the two Gryffindors' individual escapes from harm. "Dun't mention it!" Melody shouted at Rex as she took off after the Bludger which she'd just defended him against, feeling that he might have been slightly more appreciative of her assistance. It was important that he wasn't distracted, but it would only have taken a moment. She left him and such thoughts behind very quickly as she caught up with the Bludger, and sent it after the Ravenclaw Seeker, so matching the tactical play of the opposing team.

"Dun't mention it!" Melody shouted at Rex as she took off. Only after the words had left her mouth did Rex realize that he had not thanked her for trying and successfully defending him against the Bludger. It wasn't like Rex to thank people for doing their jobs. It was the Beaters' job to protect their teammates. So defending Rex was not going above and beyond Melody's job description. He raised an eyebrow quizzically toward her form. He shrugged it off. She had her job to do and he had his job to do. Over by the Gryffindor goal there was a glint of gold. Was that the Snitch or was it the reflection of the sun off of Cass' robes? Either way, he should find out. Flying toward his captain he thought that it must be extremely boring to be a Keeper. At least as a Seeker he got to fly around, but to stay in one place doing nothing! No wonder August was asleep at his post.

For a moment Stewart pondered on whether he should send a Bludger in the direction of the Chaser who seemed to be scoring goals right left and centre, then decided to stick to his plan of trying to prevent the Gryffindor Seeker from catching the Snitch. Once again he hit a Bludger in Rex's direction, hoping it would hit him this time before either Beater managed to defend him.

Scott had doubts that he would be able to intercept the Quaffle, but sure enough, he felt the ball land right in his hands after August tried throwing it to Celia. Again, luck (or perhaps it was just the day that Gryffindor decided to play flawless Quidditch) favored the Lions, and Scott found himself with the Quaffle in his hands, close enough to the goal to be able to try to make the lead a 30-point one instead of just a 20-point one. However, August was likely expecting another shot, so Scott decided that he might wait a few seconds before deciding what to do.
Swooping in a circle as he attempted to confuse the Ravenclaw chasers who were swarming him (Theo being one of them), Scott saw that Zara had managed to find herself open once more, floating just beside the one empty goalposts. Scott realized that she had the hot hand at the moment, and so he figured that it wouldn't hurt to see if she could perhaps make it three goals in a row. Wouldn't that be quite impressive, he thought.
As he pulled back, he saw though that Theo was right on his heels. Sure enough, his good friend seemed determined to change the luck of Ravenclaw and show that Gryffindor wasn't as superior as their playing might indicate. Hoping that his pass would be a clean one, Scott ducked at the last minute, lowering his level of flight as he tried to steer clear of Theo and make his pass successfully.

Argh, not again! This time it was Scott that caught the pass from August! Now Theo was trying to steal from Scott, but now he was trying to pass back to Zara, so Celia flew closer, reaching up and trying to intercept, incase Theo didn't manage to steal. She hoped either he would steal or her intercept would be successful, as she really wanted, and basically needed, Ravenclaw to get posession of the quaffle. She couldn't allow Zara to get the quaffle again and score for a 3rd time, that would be too awful to bear.
It looked as if the beaters were still busy, though luckily there weren't any bludgers flying in her direction right now. Stewart hit a bludger towards the seeker of the other team. He'd been doing a good job, and decided that once she was sorted with the quaffle, she would sub him out and put Jamison in in his place.

Jasmine had already been hit twice in this game! The Gryffindor beaters were certainly on top of their game today. Wincing as her side throbbed in agony, Jasmine stopped her broom as she drawled in a deep breath. Her back expanded, but her eyes kept focused on the players around her. Celia and Theo were working hard to get the quaffle, but Gryffindor had already scored two points. Stewart and Adriahna were also giving it their all. Taking in another deep breath, Jasmine urged her broom forward, floating over toward the reserve bench. "Jamison sub in for Adriahna..." she shouted above the crowd noticing the fifth year float down toward the ground. "Great job, Adriahna!" she encouraged the girl smiling before flying away from the ground, her hazel eyes watching for any kind of golden ball buzzing around.

Better luck next time, mate! Rex thought to himself as he easily avoided the Bludger that was sent at him. The Ravenclaw Beaters were trying their best, but they could not keep up with Melody as she hit Jasmine. Rex laughed at little to himself. He didn't want to see anyone get hurt, not really. But it was always fun to see someone get hit. Especially if that person happened to be Rex's rival. And right now, Rex's rival was Jasmine. If she caught the Snitch before he did it would not matter that Gryffindor had made two goals. Ravenclaw would get an extra one hundred fifty points and that would far out way the twenty points that Gryffindor currently had. Rex had to find the golden ball first.

When Scott felt the Quaffle being stripped from his grip, half of him felt that it was inevitable that Gryffindor would soon make a mistake. Still, being that it was himself who made the first potential mistake for Gryffindor didn't sit well with him. Sure enough, Theo was on the opposite end of the spectrum, likely delighted to bring a change of fate for Ravenclaw. There wasn't much Scott could do at that point, aside from going right back for the Quaffle. Since they were close to the Ravenclaw hoops at the time of the steal, Scott knew he had a bit of time as Theo would need to fly from one end of the pitch toward the other before he could even think about shooting. There was always the option of passing, too. Scott leaned forward, putting as much weight on the front of his broom handle as he could. Theo was rather quick, but Scott knew his style of flying, or, at least he had had the chance to fly with Theo on numerous occasions and learn his weaknesses. With flying, there wasn't really an easy way to point out weaknesses though, and so Scott decided to simply use his speed to work on getting the Quaffle back, rather than analyzing Theo's flying to try to find a weakness. Before Theo had a chance to pass, Scott swooped in, taking a punch at the Quaffle. He felt the resistance of Theo's grip though, and as he spun to hopefully catch the Quaffle, he wondered if it even came lose from where Theo had been holding it in the first place. If not, then he would surely pass it, or even worse, shoot it. Scott hoped that both Lenora and Zara were nearby in case his attempt to steal was unsuccessful. ((Stealing it back... How dare you, Theo. ))

Jamison nodded as Madame Hooch announced that he would be replacing Adriahna as Beater. He then mounted his broom and took off. He couldn’t help but smile at Celia as he soared passed her. There was something about her that intrigued Jamison. And yes, Jamison had a lot to deal with after Meyghan’s move, but he was healing in a way. And Celia was helping him. Yes, they were friends and Jamison liked that. But, she understood him better than a regular friend and this was a quality that Jamison missed since Meyghan left. Jamison shook his head. So far the match wasn’t looking good for Ravenclaw, but he knew they could bounce back. Gryffindor had a good team. Cass and Zara were excellent players and captains and Jamison knew that the Ravenclaw’s had reason to worry, but he knew to have faith as well. The team was full of great players and Jamison knew that the team had a chance to over take the Gryffindors still.
Jamison nodded as Theo had the quaffle. Maybe this could be their chance to score. Jamison had heard rumors that Theo was friends with this Scott fellow. Jami knew that playing against a friend couldn’t be easy as he had experienced it himself before. But, it was just a game after all. Hopefully, the pair could remember this. It was then that Jamison heard a hit. He winced and then tried to get into the huddle of players in the air, but he couldn’t. He didn’t even know who it was, but he hoped that the player was okay. Jamison shook his head and chased after the bludger that Rex had just dodged and aimed to hit it at a Gryffindor player.

It had almost stopped feeling wrong... well, perhaps not wrong, but it had stopped feeling like she'd just done something utterly terrible whenever she made a successful Bludger attack. Was she becoming immune so soon? Perhaps she was just ignoring it. Melody forced herself to look straight at Jasmine, and she could see that Sapphire's friend was quite clearly in pain, and struggling. And it was all Melody's fault... as far as she was aware, AJ hadn't made any successful attacks yet. She shrugged her shoulders to herself - it was an uncomfortable feeling, this guilt, but yet when she looked at her Captain, Cassandra seemed to be quite pleased with her efforts. So she'd have to carry on going. A Ravenclaw Chaser had possession for the first time in the game, but Melody wasn't too interested in what was going on with the Quaffle at the moment. Gryffindor already had a nice little lead, after all. No, she would have to keep on preventing the Ravenclaw Captain, and Seeker, from doing her job properly - despite the fact that she'd already taken a battering and should really be receiving Melody's compassion (in the form of being left alone), rather than continued hostility.
There was another Bludger for Melody to deal with before she could bring her intentions to fruition, though. The Head Boy Jamison Parson had just been substituted in as an opposing Beater, and he'd already got to work by sending a Bludger at Scott. Melody intended to alter its course to one more favourable for the Gryffindor team. "Watch out fer t'Bludger, Scott!" she shouted to the Chaser, who was probably a bit preoccupied with stealing the Quaffle back to have noticed the fact he was in danger (though perhaps she should give him more credit, considering how great he'd been as Seeker in the last game). She got herself in line with the Bludger and gave it a good whack as it came hurtling towards her, trying to deflect it away from Scott and towards Jasmine.

What was wrong with his aim today? Stewart wasn't giving up on trying to hit Rex though - third time's the charm he thought as he went for the Bludger again. He took the time to give Jasmine a shout-out as well in case Melody managed to shoot that Bludger at her for a third time.

Yes! Ravenclaw were finally in posession of the quaffle, for the first time in the game! She cheered as Theo grabbed the quaffle out of Scotts hands, making it look a lot easier than it really was. She knew that Scott wouldn't be happy about it at all, especailly as Theo was his best friend, and the Gryffindor was now trying to steal the quaffle back. Celia was in quite a clear space, and she had quite a clear path to the other end of the pitch, so she called "Theo! Over here!", hoping that he would be able to pass to her before Scott got the quaffle back. Then hopefully she would be able to fly to the other end of the pitch and attempt to score.
The beaters were doing their jobs well. Jamison, recently subbed in, was already getting stuck in, hitting a bludger at Scott-hopefully that would make the situation better for Theo. Stewart was hitting a bludger at Rex which she hoped would distract him from the snitch. However, Jazz had recently been hit by a bludger, and Celia hoped that it didn't harm her or her concentration at all. At least the beaters seemed to be ignoring her for now as she waited to see if Theo could keep posession of the quaffle and pass to her.

The game was well underway and Lenora hadn’t been near as active as she usually was. With one thing and another Lenora certainly hadn’t been herself lately and due to all of her studying for the NEWTs her quidditch had been slipping. She had been a little nervous when Cassandra told her she was in a chaser, it was the first time she had been really nervous over quidditch in years. Of course everyone got the occasional butterfly but for the most part Lenora was an old hat at it. The team was doing well, though. Zara had scored twice and Lenora was fairly certainly they would find the snitch soon, though that was something that could never be predicted.
A Ravenclaw chaser, Theo, had the quaffle and Scott was trying to steal it off him. Lenora hoped Scott would get it but if he didn’t she would be ready. Lenora flew close to Theo, ready to grab the quaffle as soon as he went to pass it.

Yes! He had the Quaffle. Gripping it tightly in his arms and resisting an apologetic smile towards Scott, he took off towards the Gryffindor-kept goals, where the Captain was currently defending. He was aware of Scott rushing up beside him to steal it back again and tried not to grin too widely. This was becoming a fun game of cat and mouse; and hopefully the better man would win. Hoping to outwit Scott, Theo tried to pull ahead, but was aware of the boy's grappling hands trying to steal. Knowing he had to make a pass soon, Theo saw Celia out of the corner of his eye, and shouted over the rushing winds and roar of the crowds, "Celia! Heads up!" He flung the Quaffle towards his fellow Chaser hard, and just about saw the blur of Lenora Byers coming up to intercept. Well, hopefully, Celia would get it. Theo had done his job for now.
