Another Bludger set on its hateful way, another job done, Melody supposed. They were keeping the Ravenclaw Beaters flying around trying to defend against Bludgers that had been hit towards Ravenclaw players, and even if that did mean that someone got hurt, it stopped that person being someone from the Gryffindor team. It was a catch-22 situation then, being a Beater: she was damned if she made a Bludger attack and damned if she didn't, because then that was leaving her own team vulnerable. Melody saw that she'd made the same Beater who'd managed to defend the Ravenclaw Vice Captain move across the pitch to then defend against the next Bludger that she'd hit. Perhaps she could make him dizzy, and therefore more ineffective. She'd send him back the way that he'd come (or at least force the other Ravenclaw Beater back into the game again). Flying up to the Bludger that the Ravenclaw boy had just deflected, Melody set it back on its original course with a nice sounding 'thwack' as the strengthened wood made contact with the iron ball.

August had been excited when Jasmine had informed him that he would be playing Keeper. Key word: had. August wasn't prepared for all six Chasers zooming toward him at once. During their practice game, it did not seem as intimidating. Maybe because they were all Ravenclaws and even if he did let the Quaffle by him, no one really lost. But now! This was the real thing. And he wasn't prepared. He had accidentally let the Quaffle go by him. But no more. August didn't want to let Jasmine's faith in him go to waste. August was very pleased that Jasmine allowed him to play Keeper in this game and didn't want to let her down. In fact, he felt foolish for being such a wet blanket with the Slytherin versus Ravenclaw game. This time it would be different.

This would be his first official game with Gryffindor. Rex was sorry that he had missed the game against Hufflepuff. It would have been fun to try and make Harmony mess up. When Rex tried out for the Quidditch game he was not sure that he would get on the team. But then he made it. And now to be playing Seeker, well, what more could one ask for? Seeker was the best position out of all the positions. Beater was fun too. Seekers played a whole different game then the other players. The actual game play of Quidditch had very little to do with Seekers. Flying was a magical thing that Rex liked. Muggles would never be able to fly. Rex could fly up and up and never have to come back down. Never to return to the memory of Raph or have to see his father again. But not today. Today was fun.

Argh, no, not again! She was getting seriously frustrated now with how this game was panning out. This was the second time in a matter of minutes that she had failed to snatch the quaffle from the other team, and it wasn't looking good for her team at all. It now looked as though Zara was going to shoot but she didn't have time to try and intercept before she tossed the ball neatly through a goal hoop, gaining 10 points for Gryffindor. It was looking even worse now. August obviously hadn't had his full attention on the game. This frustrated Celia even more, seeing as he'd complained about being beater in the previous game and refused to be anything but keeper in this-if he was gonna be keeper, he should at least do the job properly. Anyway, now he was attempting to pass to her so she moved closer to the hoops to make the pass easier. Hopefully then she could zoom to the other end of the pitch and then try and score. Actually, it didn't look like that would be an easy option...perhaps she should pass. August let go of the quaffle, and Celia reached up to try and catch it, hoping nobody would try and intercept it at the last minute. She turned round to the sound of groans as the bludger from Melody had hit Theo. What was up with her team today? They'd trained enough, they had no reason to be doing badly. Her only hope was that they could pick up in the rest of the game, or that Gyffindor made some fatal errors. She then noticed before she had more time to think about it that the other bludger was heading towards her, so she had to try and avoid it-2 bludger hits so close together would be awful, simply awful. ((Catching quaffle and passing to Elaine if catch successful (if I can do both in same round?). Also dodging bludger)) I'm sure you can't have more than one pass per round, so August has to make a successful pass to you first before you can pass to someone else, i.e. in the next round. -- Viv

Yes! Zara dodged Celia's swift attack, grinning with exhileration. Now it was time to tackle that goal. Throwing it with a decent push, she watched as the Quaffle spun through the air, past August's outstretched fingers, and into the middle post that she had aimed for. "YES!" Zara shouted delightedly, bobbing up in the air on her broom in excitement. Her shooting practice had paid off! The Gryffindor crowd behind her burst into ecstatic uproar, bringing a wider grin to Zara's face as she turned to see the avid waving of red and gold banners. She thrust a fist into the air in triumph, before spinning around and backtracking from the goals a little. August went to collect the Quaffle as the commentator announced the official score of 10-0 to Gryffindor. Zara was glad she had opened the scores, and hopefully the run of good luck they had so far had would pay off.
"Well done. It was thanks to your good evading and passing I managed to score." Zara said as Scott passed her, high-fiving the fifth year happily before both took their positions again and readied themselves for August's pass. It appeared he would be passing to the opposing Vice, Celia, Zara deduced as she narrowed her eyes against the strong wind. "I'll get it!" She called across the distance to Lenora and Scott, and shot forward to intercept the pass.
((I don't think you can steal the Quaffle from the Keeper, so, attempting to intercept the Quaffle August is passing to Celia.))

Another Bludger on target. This game was turning into a nightmare. Two people she'd hit, so far. There was a long way to go yet, as well. Gryffindor had scored the first goal of the game - a success which she could celebrate and not have to feel any guilt for. She cheered Zara along with the crowd, knowing that the Gryffindor's twin would be doing the same at this moment. That was sort've comforting. Sapphire and Dana had been the first people to come to her aid as the two Death Eaters were torturing her, and they'd suffered as well as a result. So Melody felt some sort of bond with Sapphire for that reason, even though she'd hardly known the Ravenclaw beforehand. It was good to think that she would share in the Gryffindor team's celebrations, at least for this goal which her sister had scored, although she might be less jubilant at Melody's work. It was already beginning to sicken Melody herself.
However, there was still a free Bludger, the one that she had hit Theo with (why oh why didn't the Ravenclaw Beaters get their act together and start giving her something to defend against instead), and she had to do something with it, so she approached that Bludger again (they were going to start getting like old friends at this rate!) and sent that one towards Celia as well. It was the tactical thing to do, if also very nasty because it meant that even if Celia managed to avoid the first Bludger, she'd probably be hit by the second one. Having done that, Melody felt physically sick at her actions once she'd watched both Bludgers hurtling towards the poor girl, and she shot upwards until she was so high that anyone trying to look at her would just be dazzled by the bright sunlight. She sat still up there without looking down at the game, trying to stop her broom from quivering and taking deep breaths as she attempted to control herself and her stomach.

Melody will nae be doin' much in t'next round - no attacking nor defending. She'll be back for the round after that.))

"YES!!!!" Cassandra screamed jubilantly as Zara through the quaffle through Hufflepuff's hoop. The first goal of the game was always the most exciting. It was especially exciting when your team was the first to score. Cass' team was playing wonderfully, and she couldn't be prouder. Play soon resumed, and Cass readied herself on her broom to protect the Gryffindor goals.

Celia could've sworn when she saw Zara come from behind her only to reach up and grab the quaffle just as Celia was going to get it, As far as Celia was concerned, the game couldn't be going much worse-it was awful! Well, they hadn't lost yet but Gryffindor had had possession constantly right from the start-apart from when August had it when he's let the quaffle past as Zara scored. Yes, she'd have to talk to him about that. She was unsure as to what Zara would do next as none of the other Gryff chasers seemed to be around, so she thought that instead of trying to intercept (as her previous attempts had been unsuccessful) she would try and intercept either her pass or shot at goal.
However, as she flew away from the area she saw a bludger getting closer and closer to her. She attempted to swerve around it, but unfortunately it ended up curving it's path and hit her right in the side, just above the hip. The hit was painful, undoubtedly, but before she could think too much about that she realised that she would have to grin and bear it for now until she could finish the game and get it seen too, as the other bludger was also heading in her direction. She only hoped that she would be able to dodge this one, or that one of her beaters would be able to hit it away from her.So far they hadn't really done much at all-especially Adriahna. What WERE they doing? She really needed to substitute Jami in ASAP, but for now that would have to wait.
She had to keep her eyes on the bludger and Zara, so she didn't have time to make any changes just yet, or do anything but concentrate on what she was doing. What everyone else (apart from Zara) was doing was irrellevant to her thoughts-she just wanted to avoid this bludger and make sure the quaffle didn't stay in the Gryffindor's possession for very long. She saw that Zara was making a move, and as the older girl let go of the quaffle Celia rushed over there, hoping to intercept, not paying much attention anymore to the bludger. She just couldn't let Gryffindor keep the quaffle in their possession for much longer!

Zara's fingers closed around the Quaffle and she couldn't help but grin against the turbulent winds. "Yes!" She thought proudly, clutching the ball closely to her chest and soaring towards the goals again. August's throw had been a little weak, and Zara could see the annoyance and disappointment on Celia's face. Zara felt a pang of sympathy for her fellow Vice; after all, both of them wanted their own teams to win. Luckily for Gryffindor and Zara herself, she and the rest of her team seemed to be in good form. Poor Ravenclaw, from the looks of it, Melody's Bludgers were giving the rest opposing Chasers one heck of the time. Zara could've sworn she saw Theo being hit just as she scored her goal. And what with August evidently not concentrating enough - rather vital for a Keeper - Ravenclaw didn't look too strong right now. Casting a quick eye above her, Zara noted the familiar figures of Jasmine and Rex. She hoped the young, but sturdy fourth year would be able to hold his own against Jasmine, who had years more experience than him. Then again, Zara thought as she shot through waifs of thin clouds, Rex held some great potential, even if he was a little cocky and mischeivous.
Zara noticed Celia catching up to her from behind and realised the sixth year was waiting for her chance to intercept. Concurrently, Theo was lining up in front and was going to try to steal from her no doubt. Frowning at the double challenge, she immediately made to move forward, blocking the Quaffle from the younger boy's grasp and heading to shoot the ball again.

Theo didn't manage to intercept Scott's pass to Zara, and he felt a little disappointed again, because that was the second time in a row he had failed to help his team. However, he wasn't daunted, and was about to drive forward to perhaps try to steal from Zara, who now had the Quaffle. But then, Theo felt the Bludger hit him - hard. That second year Beater packed a punch, he thought as the wind was knocked clean out of him. Gasping as he propelled backwards, he held onto his broom tight in an attempt to not fall off and injure himself. His flying swayed awkwardly for a split second, his mind whirling as he struggled to regain balance. Finally, after several moments, he steadied himself against the breeze, and shook his head. Oh dear. He had tried to avoid that somewhat, but he hadn't been fast enough.
Returning to watch the game's progress, Theo watched a little disappointedly as Zara did a successful shot at the goal, both Celia and August failing to stop her. The Gryffindor crowd behind him cheered loudly, and the Ravenclaws' boos were heard through the delight. Groaning in the back of his throat, Theo shot forward again, feeling his shoulder where the Bludger had hit him ache slightly. He caught sight of Scott some distance away, felt his heart tumble (a little like that falling from the sky feeling), but drew his eyes away to concentrate at the task at hand. As he sped up towards the goals, he saw August trying to pass to Celia. However, the Gryffindor Vice-Captain seemed to be on fire, as she swooped between them and nicked the Quaffle out of thin air. Theo ignored the noises from around, the cheers and the boos, and surged forward as Zara turned to score. He would do his best not to let her, because he had something to prove.

Melody, young as she was, was a force to be reckoned with. Celia could NOT get hit by another Bludger this early in the game. The game was moving fast. Too fast. The world was buzzing and there was the hum of thoughts moving quickly everywhere. Adriahna felt overwhelmed for a moment before forcing herself to take a deep breath and get back into the game. Everyone was flying everywhere and there were people screaming in the stands. Gryffindor had scored at some point and Celia looked in bad shape. Stewart had come to her defence and Adriahna noticed a stray bludger somewhere at the other end of the pitch. Adriahna was going to be sick. No, no, she would not be sick. She would not let them into her head. Pushing out all the voices Adriahna pushed her broom toward the bludger and hit it at the nearest thing in red.

"Take it to the hoop, Zara!" Cass watched as the seventh year girl seemed to be trying to take another shot towards Hufflepuff's goal. What was wrong with Ravenclaw? She didn't know. They seemed to not being playing at their A-game. Cass snickered at this last thought. For a house that prided themselves on their intelligence, they didn't seem to be playing so smart. A wind suddenly kicked up and Cass had to steady herself again on her broom. Even though it didn't seem likely, Cass readied herself waiting for the eventual run towards her team's goal.

The cold air of great heights helped Melody to regain her composure, and settle her stomach. However, when she returned to the game, she saw that she had a tricky choice to make. While she'd been out of the game, the Ravenclaw Beaters seemed to have finally got going and she now had two Bludgers to defend against, and only time to defend against one of them. Which one? Zara, the Vice Captain, or Rex, arguably the most important member of the team since he could command a full 150 points if he managed to catch the Snitch. Zara/Seeker? Melody pondered the conundrum, moving one way and then the other as she changed her mind. Yes, Zara was looking really strong and she didn't want to let a Bludger take her out of her stride, but on the other hand, there were three Chasers and only one Seeker. Yes, she would have to defend Rex. Nevertheless, she could at least warn Zara. "BLUDGER, ZARA," she yelled at the top of her voice as she sped the other way to defend against the other Bludger.

Celia was not happy. Not happy at all. She couldn't help but feel let down by her team. Granted Theo was doing his best, but like Celia was unsuccessful. The beaters were doing an OK job. But August was somewhat disappointing and she had barely seen Elaine and Jasmine. She just hoped that Jazz was looking for the snitch as much as possible, with no distractions. As for Elaine, well, Celia and Theo were doing what they could but she thought that the 3rd chaser might be of some help.
Luckily the second bludger that Melody hit towards Celia didn't hit her like the other one. The pain was wearing off now but she really didn't want to be hit again. Stewart fortunateley manages to hit it away from her, and seemed to be hitting it towards Rex now. It would be good if the younger boy got hit as that would distract him and gove Jazz more time to look for the snitch and hopefully catch it. Adriahna was hitting the second bludger now, by the looks of it towards Zara. Again, Celia would be pleased if she got hit as she was an excellent chaser, and one Celia really didn't want to go against for much longer.
As she flew up from behind Zara she saw Theo unsuccessfully try and steal the quaffle from her. She really was a very good chaser-nobody could deny that. Zara let go of the quaffle, tossing it to the goal hoops attempting to score her second goal. Celia really couldn't let that happen and flew in between the quaffle and goal hoops, hoping to intercept the shot. Unfortunately the quaffle just skimmed past her fingers and headed straight into the goal hoops. 20 - 0...it wasn't looking good at all. August picked up the quaffle and was searching for someone to pass to, so Celia moved into a free space and called "August! Over here!" hoping that the Gryff chasers wouldn't then come after her and try to intercept, though she expected they would.

Scott smiled as his pass made it to Zara. So far, Gryffindor seemed to be playing a nearly perfect game. He felt somewhat bad for Ravenclaw, seeing that they really weren't playing terrible. Gryffindor was just playing a step above them, resulting in everything seeming to benefit Gryffindor. Their momentum continue as Scott watched Zara score the first goal of the game, only to turn around, steal the Quaffle in mid-air and score a second time! He really felt as though they were playing like a professional team. Even Melody, the small second year Beater was holding her own. As August retrieved the Quaffle after the second goal, Scott watched to see if he would pass it. Noticing Celia ready to receive a possible pass, Scott darted forward to try to prevent her from being able to catch the Quaffle. Intercepting was never easy, but Scott figured that it would at least make any pass a bit more difficult for August to make. ((Intercepting pass from August to Celia, IF that's the action that occurs this round. )
