"Damn!" Cassandra shouted as she retreived the quaffle. How could she of missed that? Fuming, she looked at her chasers. She took the momentary lull and surveyed her team. Her new line up was causing problems. "Madame Hooch!" Cass waved the referree over. "I'm sorry, I need to change my line-up again." Cassie surveyed her team, and then she surveyed her reserves that were fall below on the ground. God, she always hated these decisions. "I'm going to have to redo the line up. I'm going to put Rex in as beater." Cass sighed. She hoped she made the right decision. She watched as the fourth year picked up a beater's bat, and flew up to the pitch. Cass looked up. She gasped. A bludger was heading straight for her. She had to make a quick decision before the bludger hit her and she would most likely drop the quaffle. Cass threw the ball with all her might towards Lenora.

Ack. Ravenclaw scored. Casey shook her head. Gryffindor tried all they could to prevent it, but Celia was an excellent chaser and they all knew it. Oh well. The game wasn't over yet. "It's okay Gryffindors!" Casey cheered, smiling. She liked to encourage her teammates. It was then that Cass was hit by a bludger and had to drop the quaffle. Casey cursed under her breath and dove for the quaffle. The quaffle came so last minute that Casey had barely noticed it. But then again, Quidditch was supposed to be unpredictable. That was just the way it was.

One task done - Melody had focused her mind and made excellent contact with the Bludger. It was now hurtling towards Jasmine at quite a frightening speed... she hoped that the aim was good. Cassandra hadn't fared so well without someone defending her, but Melody almost wondered whether it wasn't such a bad thing for Gryffindor that the Quaffle was loose, even though she felt ashamed that their team of Beaters had failed their Captain. Hopefully Rex would make a more credible Beater than AJ had been able to be, Melody thought, and she gave her newly instated colleague a smile as he came into the game.
Casey's cheerful cry still kept Melody feeling optimistic - perhaps, after all, it was 'okay' that Cassandra had dropped the Quaffle. It was surely better that the Chasers had a chance to scramble for it than that Celia had intercepted the pass (as she might well have done, considering how excellently she was playing)? It would have been far harder to get the Quaffle off Celia once she actually had it. In case the Ravenclaw Vice did manage to get hold of the Quaffle yet again, Melody flew after the Bludger that had just hit Cassandra and hit it in Celia's direction.

Jamison soared around eying the bludgers that were flying about. It was then that he heard some gasps. He looked over and it seemed that a bludger had hit Cass Blackfire, the Gryffindor Keeper. Jamison eyed the event, but he knew he had to focus. Jamison turned around and found that another bludger was heading toward Jasmine. He shook his head and chased after it.

Celia watched as a bludger hit Cassandra and flinched. Although she was on the opposition team, Celia felt her pain having been hit by a bludger in a similar way several times earlier on in that match, and, like Cassandra did now, had dropped the quaffle. It took her a few miliseconds to realise that that meant the quaffle was actually free for her to get now, and zoomed after Casey who'd already spotted it and was heading towards the quaffle already. She caught upto the other girl, hoping to overtake her and grab the quafle for herself.
Out of the corner of her eye she noticed Melody hit a bludger towards Jazz, who once again seemed to absorbed in hunting for the snitch, so Celia quickly turned round (hoping that it wouldn't harm her attempt to get the quaffle) and shouted "WATCH OUT JAZZ!!" towards the team seeker. Then she noticed Melody hitting the other bludger towards her, so while reaching out to grab the quaffle, she tried to swerve out of the way of the bludger, not wanting to be hit again.

Cassandra swore harshly. The bludger had slammed into her shoulder as she attempted to dodge the large ball. It was quite an experience for her. She was usually the one delivering, not the one receiving the harsh blow. She felt the quaffle leave her fingers, and as if in slow motion, it fell from her fingertips. She had fumbled for the ball, but it was no use. The quaffle was loose. "Zara! Lenora! Casey!," Cass called to her chasers while pointing at the falling red ball.

A bit more confusion in the game left the Quaffle unclaimed. Scott almost felt an instinctive urge to dive after it, but then maintained focus and remembered that the Snitch was now his responsibility, not the Quaffle.
Seeing Celia take possession, he let out a sigh of disappointment, but then forced himself to keep trying to let the rest of the game take its course while he worried about what he needed to worry about.
It seemed as though this round of Quidditch would prove to last just as long as the last round he had played in. Why couldn't the Snitch show up as quickly as it did during the Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin game? Valmer, the Slytherin Seeker seemed to catch it rather quickly. Scott almost wondered if Valmer was superior to the other 3 teams' Seekers. Surely the young Slytherin wasn't that good.
With a blur of red zooming past him, Scott tried starring through the wind-whipped robes of the Gryffindor player who just flew past him. It was Melody going after a Bludger. Scott decided to head the opposite way, ensuring his probably safety from the dreaded masses. While turning and flying the other way, he kept a keen eye out for any glimpse of gold.

Oh no another Bludger hit Jasmine - well there was nothing he could do about it now. At least Celia had the Quaffle - Stewart flew as fast as he could to defend her from the Bludger heading towards her, hit bu the seemingly inexhaustible Melody, and attempted to whack it at Scott.

Well that scuppered her optimistic plan that a Gryffindor would manage to get the loose Quaffle... but at least it had given Melody time to hit a Bludger at Celia, whether or not it would come anywhere near threatening the Ravenclaw who had yet again managed to get possession of the Quaffle. Celia and Casey had had to dive, though, to get the Quaffle, and that did at least mean that Celia wouldn't be in a good position to try to score - close as she was to the goalhoops, she was below them, and although Melody wasn't a Chaser herself so she wouldn't know, she didn't imagine that it could be easy shooting upwards. So if Celia was going to pass, Melody ought to restrict her options of who to pass to, by hitting the Bludger at one of the other Chasers. But which one? So far it was Celia who stood out as the Ravenclaws' star Chaser... which one of the other two would be more of a threat to Cassandra if they had the chance to score? Melody tried to solve this question as she flew towards the Bludger that she had just hit Jasmine with. Overall, she thought that she'd seen more of the blonde-haired Chaser's talent demonstrated during the course of the game, so she hit the Bludger towards him in the hope that Celia would then have to pass to the other Ravenclaw Chaser.

Celia grinned as she grabbed the quaffle just before Casey got to it. She'd once again got the advantage for her team, for now at least, and she didn't want to let that slip. However, for a while now she'd been the only chaser to go after the quaffle, so it was only fair to let one of the others have a go at shooting. She looked around for the other chasers, and saw that none of them were too far away. However, Theo was generally the stronger one of the other two so she called over to him to get his attention, and threw the quaffle in his direction, hoping that none of the Gryffs would try and intercept the pass. Hopefully he'd catch it and use his strength to score a third goal for their team.
It was then that she remembered the bludger heading her way, and lucking saw Stewart trying to defend her. At least she no longer had the quaffle so it wouldn't be as disasterous if she was hit. However she also saw the other bludger heading towards Theo, and hence called over to him again to warn him about it. He really couldn't afford to be hit if he was going to catch the quaffle she'd thrown in his direction. She just hoped he didn't feel too overwhelmed by having both a bludger and the quaffle flying in his direction.

Casey shook her head. Gryffindor had to get that quaffle back. She wanted to end the game strong. She had to. Casey sped up on her broom and into the action. She squinted to see that Celia had the quaffle and was going to pass to Theo. Casey shook her head and flew closer. Maybe she could intercept. She was at least going to try if anything else.

Wooo, the game was now going well for the Ravenclaws, after the catastrophe at the beginning of the game. Well, the Ravens were the dominant side right now, and Celia had been playing spectacularly this game. She'd scored both of their team's goals, and she'd been pretty dominant with the quaffle when it came to the Ravenclaw team. Perhaps she was being selfish, perhaps she was just a good chaser. But now she was attempting to pass to him, so he needed to be on the ball (no pun intended). While passing to him she was also warning him about a bludger heading his way which he nodded over to her about, showing his acknowledgment of her warning, and tried to dodge the bludger. He'd only been hit once or twice, but he didn't want to be hit again, and really didn't want to let the team down!

She'd had yet another success and the Quaffle was loose yet again, but really then at the moment Melody only seemed to be a delaying factor in the game, forcing the play only a little further away from the Gryffindor goalposts each time. Since Celia had started showing them what she was capable of, and Zara (the Gryffindors' best Chaser without a doubt) had dropped back from the hottest contention for the Quaffle for some reason, Melody's use seemed to have been in delaying the Ravenclaws from getting another attempt on goal, rather than in aiding her own team to actually score, as she would have preferred. But she was confident that the Gryffindors had the better Seeker. He'd won them the last game, and he seemed to be working hard looking for the Snitch; Jasmine was reported to be an excellent Seeker, but Melody had already knocked her around so much in this game that she thought Sapphire's friend would probably have made little headway in her search for the Snitch.
Someone, though, had hit a Bludger at Scott now, and Melody zipped off to try to defend against it - it was important that she didn't allow the Ravenclaws to play the same cruel game for Scott as she had done for Jasmine. She seemed to be perpetually busy at the moment; luckily the Bludger play was not at opposite ends of the pitch most of the time, but she still felt as though she'd been required here, there, everywhere and here again for an exceedingly long time now. She hoped that Rex would start his work as a Beater soon too. There was a fairly good line from where she intended to meet the Bludger to where Celia was, and, really wanting the Gryffindor side to take the upper hand in the game once again, Melody tried to hit the Bludger back in that direction.
Just as she was about to reach the position she'd chosen to defend Scott from, she noticed with alarm that Stewart had also sent a Bludger her way, so she had to turn to face that one away, hoping that the other Bludger she'd put herself in the path of wouldn't hit her while she was dealing with this one (although at least if it did she could have a cushioning effect for Scott!). She had no time to think about who to try to deflect that one to, and her main focus was supposed to be on defending Scott anyway, so Melody just tried to hit the Bludger away from herself so that she could get back to her proper job as a Beater.

Poor Theo had gotten hit again. More out of frustration than anything else, Stewart hit the Bludger in question at Melody, even though he'd never liked that strategy much since Beaters were always so skilled at protecting themselves.

Celia didn't know whether to smile or flinch when she looked at Theo-smile as he caught the quaffle, then flinch as the bludger hit him and he dropped it. The quaffle was now loose again and no other seekers were going after it, and Theo wasn't going to go after it by the looks of things, so she had no choice but to fly over there and try and get it for herself. Then she could hopefully pass over to him again, giving him another chance to try and score.
Then she noticed a bludger heading her way, from Melody this time. SHe really had to dodge it this time-she was already damaged from the other hits, she didn't want to be hurt again-the pain was still there from the previous hits, though less so than earlier.
