Valmer sneered and gritted his teeth as he saw that Jasmine had seen the Snitch before he had. Now she was flying after it, with full speed it seemed. That was the only right way to do it, of course. The snitch was as hyperactive as a child on Halloween night with candy and sugar flowing. Probably worse. Valmer checked his gloves and leaned again on the front of his broom, wanting to just snatch the thing right out of Jazz's outstretched hand. He looked around him as he veered right, turning towards the area where she was careening after it. They both were going nearly opposite ways, and either one of them could grab it out of the air, unless the snitch had other ideas. Valmer reached his black gloved hand out, hoping to feel the flying ball in his hand and wanting to taste victory over his competition.

His eyes narrowed, Kennedy watched as Caleb made an unsuccessful attempt to steal the Quaffle from the approaching Chaser. He hoped it might distract her if she was going to take a shot. Closer and closer she flew, and Kennedy felt his hands moisten with sweat. He was nervous. He wished that he could be a Chaser at that very moment, wondering why Alexandra had to quit the team. He would have loved to have her in as the Keeper right now. But it was him. He was the one that stood between the oncoming Chaser and the goal posts. He would have to stop her from scoring. The motion of her arm was so quick that Kennedy had just a fraction of a second to respond. It was going left, and so he pushed as hard as he could to get in between the Quaffle and the goal. Time seemed to slow as he reached desperately with his arm extending as far as it would go. But it wasn't far enough. Cheers filled the pitch as the Ravenclaw team had scored the first points of the game. Flustered and disappointed with himself, Kennedy soared to grab the Quaffle from the other side of the goal posts. Circling back to the front of the goal posts, Kennedy was not happy. He contemplated making a switch in the lineup, figuring it might have been a bad idea to have put himself in as Keeper. He felt as though there was no other choice. Nobody else on the team was a starting Keeper, and of the ones that were alternate Keepers, he felt that they might do best in their original positions. This wasn't the time to regret his choices though. It was only ten points, and he needed to make sure that Slytherin wouldn't start to play badly just because he had made a mistake. Looking for an open Chaser to pass the Quaffle to, Kennedy saw Wynd nearby. As he went to pass him the Quaffle, he also saw a flash of blue out of the corner of his eye. It was Jasmine, and she seemed to be heading for the Snitch! Where was Valmer?! Kennedy looked frantically to find Valmer, and when he spotted him, he let out a sigh of relief to see that he was headed for the Snitch as well. The game could be over any second if one of them could catch it! ((Passing to Wynd.)) ((Also, I want to make some changes for the next round. Pyro will be taking Olivia's place, and Kennedy and Wynd will switch positions. This will take place after all the actions of this round are completed. Kennedy's IC post next round (if there is one) will reflect this change being made. )

The match was going by so fast. Jamison nodded when he hit the bludger away from Adriahna. The last thing the team needed was an injured team-mate. Besides, it was Jamison’s job to keep his teammates safe. Jamison quite liked being a beater. He liked defending his team mates and he liked keeping up with the bludger. It wasn’t an either job, but none of the positions on the team were. Jamison nodded at the bludger that headed toward Olivia and then he sped up on his broom to get near the action. It was then that the crowd went wild. Jamison didn’t even see it happen. Ravenclaw scored! He looked up to find that Elaine had scored. “Good job Elaine!” He called, but there wasn’t time to celebrate. Elaine had two bludgers flying at her. Jamison sped over as fast as he could.

Elaine grinned as she sat back on her broom watching the red quaffle soar through the air toward the Slytherin goal hoops. It slipped right past the keepers fingers into the ringed hoped. Grinning, Elaine heard another roar of cheering from the stands. Glancing around the pitch she noticed that Jasmine and the other Slytherin seeker were in hot pursuit of the snitch. Wow! This game was going by super fast. Before she even had time to think about intercepting the next pass, Elaine noticed two bludgers heading her way. Oh great. As Jamison came to her side, Elaine swerved quickly out of the way in hopes of either bludgers hitting her. She hadn’t had practiced what to do with two bludgers were wanting to hit her!

August knew right from the start of the day that he was not going to like being a Beater. Soon after the game started his suspicions came true. The first thing that happened was that the Beater from the other team hit a Bludger straight at him. He wasn't even doing anything! Then the bloody Bludger hit him. Thank goodness he wasn't trying to do anything important! Nope, he was just flying. He cursed on his breath as his side began to throb faintly. A Bludger hit was never fun. But a Bludger that was sent to you by another player was even worse. August really wanted to knock one of the Bludgers at Jasmine for making him take on this stupid position but he knew that was being childish. He also knew that it was foolish to dwell on the fact that he didn't get to play Keeper, but it still pained him. Recovering from the hit he heard the roar of the crowd as Ravenclaw scored. Then he saw that Jasmine spotted the Snitch and was chasing it. August noticed the other Seeker racing toward it also. The sooner one of them caught it, the sooner this game would be over. August watched as Jamison raced toward Elaine trying to protect her but there was no way that he could protect her from two Bludgers. August sighed and flew as fast as he could.

Celia grinned as Elaine successfully caught5 the quaffle from her pass, and Dylan failed to intercept. She watched as Elaine flew closer to the Slytherin goal hoops, probably attempting to shoot, while Caleb attempted to steal. His aatempt was, however unsuccessful, and Elaine managed to sneak the quaffle past Kennedy and into the goal hoops! Celia grinned again as the quaffle flew through the hoop: 10-0, they were winning! She congratulated Elaine as she passed her on the way down the field, however she was being followed by both bludgers-hit by Dylan and Mary. Unfortunately Jami hadn't been very successful in his attempt to deflect the bludger, however it looked as though he was now going to try and hit one away from her, and August was looking to hit the other one away.
Meanwhile, the seekers had been busy. Judging by the way they were chasing after each other, it looked as if one of them had seen the snitch. She really hoped Jazz would catch it! It had been such a short game though, but they were winning. Her thoughts turned back to her chaser duties, and the fact that Kennedy was now going to pass the quaffle to one of the Slytherin chasers-Wynd by the looks of it.. She simply could not allow the pass to be successful, so she positioned herself so that hopefully she would intercept the pass-right in front of Wynd, and hoped to catch it as she had done earlier, at the beginning of the game.

Failing to steal the Quaffle from Wynd didn't deter Theo. As his classmate shot past him and tried to pass the ball to Olivia, Theo knew there was a back-up - in the form of Celia. She was the one trying to intercept the pass, after all. Theo swerved around to watch the aerial battle, egging Celia on to intercept successfully. The sixth year girl swooped between Wynd and Olivia and caught the Quaffle in her hands, causing Theo to whoop in delight and fly forwards; no point dallying, since Celia was streaking up the pitch towards the other goal posts, where the Slytherin Captain, Kennedy, was waiting. Elaine was flying on the other side of Celia, and it seemed the sixth year had chosen to pass to her. She did so successfully despite some intercept attempts from Slytherin, and Theo grinned to himself; the match was proceeding well so far. Ravenclaw had the advantage and upper hand. He slowed down nearing the goals as it was Elaine trying to score, rather than pass. Theo steered his broom a little closer on the left though, so that, when Kennedy got the Quaffle - for he would get it either way - he could prepare to intercept the pass.
Elaine launched the Quaffle at the goal, and Theo watched it expectedly. Kennedy tried to save it, but Theo chuckled happily when the ball skimmed his grasp and fell through the hole of the hoop. One for Ravenclaw! "Woo, Elaine!" He screamed over the excited audience. Theo heard the commentator scream 'Ravenclaw 10, Slytherin 0', and beamed broadly. They were now ahead. Feeling a delighted tumble in his stomach, he ignored it and pressed onwards with the game. Kennedy had the Quaffle again, and Theo was about to surge forward to try to intercept when a flash of fast blue caught his eye. He looked sideways and saw their Captain, Jasmine, flying across the stretch of blue sky, evidently seeking the Snitch. His adrenaline pumped faster as Theo willed Jasmine on, but knew he had his task at hand. Turning to Kennedy again, who was about to pass, Theo flew forwards to try to intercept his throw.

((Theo, I am afraid you cannot perform that action as Celia had already posted it.
Line up changes; Pyro will be replacing Olivia as a chaser. Wynd will be replacing Kennedy as keeper while Kennedy replaces Wynd as chaser.
Jamison attempts to defend Elaine. Dylan = Bludger (D6 + Str) = 1 + 4 = 5 Jamison = Defending (D8 + Str) = 7 + 5 = 12
Jamison defends Elaine and deflects toward Valmer. There is a bludger heading toward Valmer.
August tries to defend Elaine. Mary = Bludger (D6 + Str) = 5 + 4 = 9 August = Defending (D8 + Str) = 7 + 4 = 11
August defends Elaine and deflects to Mary. There is a bludger flying at Mary.
Kennedy attempts to pass and Celia tries to intercept. Kennedy = Pass (D6 + Dex) = 5 + 2 = 7 Celia = Intercept (D4 + Dex) = 3 + 5 = 8
Celia intercepts the pass. Celia has the quaffle.
Jasmine and Valmer try to catch the snitch. Jasmine = Catch (D10 + Dex) = 3 + 1 = 4 Valmer = Catch (D10 + Dex) = 6 + 1 = 7 Snitch = Escape (D10 + D4) = 1 + 2 = 3

Dylan tightened his fist around the handle of his bat. Jamison managed to deflect his Bludger, and was clearly aiming for Valmer; which made Dylan nervous. He knew Jasmine had seen the snitch and knew Valmer was trying to beat her to it. But before he even made a move to help, the whistle was blown, and the very thing Dylan wanted to hear rang out across the pitch, "Valmer Van Ruster caught the Snitch! Slytherin wins!" Before Dylan knew, he was flying at Valmer, and quickly halted. He wanted to yell and cheer just like everyone else, but just couldn't bring himself to do it. Maybe because he felt like he would bragging?
Dylan shook his head and flew closer to Valmer, who looked triumphant, as well as everyone else for that matter. "Great job," Dylan said smiling, joining in with everyone else. It felt weird. In this very moment, Dylan actually felt like they were a team. They all felt like, they were one big group of friends. Well, this won't last long, Dylan thought. Might as well enjoy it while it lasts.

Kennedy watched in horror as both Bludgers suddenly were sent flying back at the Slytherin team. One of them was even on its way toward Valmer who was still on his way to try to catch the Snitch. As well, once the Quaffle had left his hands and flew toward Wynd, Kennedy watched as a Chaser in blue robes came out of nowhere and stole it from midair. Everything seemed to be going terrible wrong for Slytherin. Kennedy was just about to signal for a timeout. He needed to get Pyro into the game and make a few switches in position, the first being to take himself from Keeper and give Wynd a shot at the position. Right when he went to get Madam Hooch's attention, Kennedy saw her put the whistle in her mouth and give it a loud blow. He gave a confused look at first, but then realized that the game was over! The Snitch had been caught, and it was Valmer who was holding the tiny golden sphere in his gloved hand. Kennedy's depressed spirit was quickly lifted as he had realized that Slytherin had just won the game. It couldn't have come at a better time. Things were looking grim, but it was all over now. Flying happily to the huddle of green in the middle of the pitch, Kennedy took his turn at congratulating Valmer. "Way to save us out there," he said with a smile. As Mary flew in to join the group, Kennedy flashed her a smile as well. "It didn't look pretty, but we did it, Captain. No thanks to me," he added with a laugh. "Next up, Gryffindor!" he shouted, circling around his team as he flew off to the stands so that he could find Fiona. Before that though, he flew over to Jasmine. "Good game," he said simply. Kennedy didn't want to seem arrogant, especially since he knew that Slytherin had barely scratched out the win. Then, he flew away. ((Great game everyone, even though it was short. Good job Slyth for sticking it out and good job Raven for playing so well. You really had me worried! ))

As Valmer reached his black gloved hand out to try and catch the snitch, he saw Jasmine reaching out directly in front of him as well. He knew that if he was going to win the game for Slytherin, he would need to grab the snitch and also get out of the way of Jasmine, coming full speed at him. He felt like the golden snitch was right in his palm so he clenched his fist, feeling the vibration in his hand. He smiled, but only momentarily before he looked in front of him and swerved hard to the right, to avoid Jasmine nearly plowing into him.
As he nearly got away from slamming into Jasmine, he slowed to a stop, hovering in the air high above the bottom of the pitch. Valmer looked around at his teammates, who were all still playing and trying to score, yet they had all seen the near head-on collision, and were looking to see if he had caught the Snitch. He threw his hand in the air, exposing the golden snitch in his fingers. "Go Slytherin!", he yelled to his teammates, as he basked in the glory and congratulation he would likely receive soon.
Valmer wasn't one to gloat, but having just won the game that would send them against Gryffindor for the final match, he felt he had a bit of room to show off. All of a sudden, as he was about to fly down to the ground, he spun around, realizing (and quickly avoiding) a huge bludger barreling at him. "Whew. Close one, eh?" he laughed at himself, and made mention to Kennedy as he flew over to congratulate and thank him for the win. "It was my pleasure, Captain. Let's do it again next time. For Slytherin." He loved his house, and he loved his position on the Quidditch team. He thanked Kennedy for keeping him in as Seeker, and waved once again to his cheering teammates. He shook hands on the other side, and flew over to Jasmine. "Good game, indeed. You almost had me there for a second. You've got spunk, girl. Good job." He shook her hand, and flew off the pitch, making his way to his room.
