((The game officially begins tomorrow but players may post their warm up now.))
February was cold with a thick layer of snow covering the ground. Madam Hooch heard it crunch beneath her boots as she made her way down to the pitch early. Hers were not the only footprints made that morning despite the early hour, she assumed it must have been the team captains going down to check the conditions but in the semi-darkness she really couldn’t tell. Madam Hooch had brought the balls and equipment down the night before and locked them in her own personal change room so she wouldn’t need to worry about doing it in the darkness.
Madam Hooch had already breakfasted before the rest of the school wanting a little peace and quite to prepare for the day ahead. It shouldn’t be too different from any other game but the snow was thick meaning visibility would be reduced. Madam Hooch had to work extra hard on days like that to referee the match, and much as she hated to single a house out she knew she needed to be especially on top of her game when Slytherin were playing. It wasn’t that the children were bad, or that they turned into bad people, just they were so enthusiastic and competitive that sometimes they appeared to think the rules were nothing more than an insignificant inconvenience, even the ones put in place for the sake of safety.
Sitting in her office Madam Hooch took out a copy of the Daily Profit and read an article about the recent Holyhead Harpies vs. Puddlemere United match. Old rivals those teams, shouldn’t be any theatrics like that today, thankfully Ravenclaw and Slytherin had always got on fairly well, even back in her Hogwarts days. As well, though there were some promising players there wasn’t any professional skill level in this game which means the kids have less concentration for fooling around and scores will still be lower.
Slowly the noise level above her office built until she looked at the clock and noticed it was game time. Standing up and pulling her warmest quidditch cloak around her Madam Hooch went out onto the pitch where the players were coming out to warm up.

Post by Valmer Van Ruster S7 on Feb 21, 2008 23:30:58 GMT
After being late to a very important practice that he nearly forgot about weeks ago, Valmer Van Ruster made his way down to Slytherin's first Quidditch match that year: against Ravenclaw. He had made it a point to be punctual, especially after the looks that Kennedy had given him that one time he had been especially late. Valmer was always one to always enjoy being on his broom, and he knew he had the speed that couldn't be matched by many. It seemed that even his captain Kennedy had been impressed with his speed at that particular practice, even in his tardiness. This would be the chance to really prove that he was the starter he knew he was.
During a match was one of the only times some of Valmer's Slytherin tendencies came out. A feeling of determination fell over him any time he got on his broom, which gave him a feeling that he was ready to burst. He had always loved watching Seekers from different international teams, and it made him strive to be better every time he went out for a match. As he approached the pitch, Valmer looked around for Kennedy or anyone else that might have arrived early. Seeing no one, he cleared some of the snow from the ground so he could do a few stretches. After he did a few, he hopped on his broom and flew in a few tight circles, doing his best to tighten them more each time, so he could turn on a dime if needed, to save himself the tragedy of being hit by a bludger or worse, a wall. As he practiced by himself for a little while longer, he saw a few people coming from the castle, and wondered if they would be players from his team.

Mary groaned as she woke up far too early, she hated early mornings. Normally Mary just skipped anything and everything that took place early in the morning. She had once gotten quite the bawling out from her mother when she skipped an early brunch with “these very important ladies” because it required her to get up shortly after the sun. Today that was not an option. Today was quidditch. Mary never, ever, skipped quidditch. Heck, quidditch was probably the best thing Hogwarts offered.
Getting up and out of bed Mary pulled her hair back and got into her quidditch uniform. It was comfortable, more comfortable than any other outfit that required her to not wear heels. Although that could be because it was the only outfit she had worn in years without a pair of high heels… The point was, the uniform was home. She was fine down in the dungeon and knew she would be cold out in the yard, but it would be swelling hot on the pitch with all the people and so much exercise. Besides, Mary planned on being too busy to be cold anyways. She was now the longest standing member on the Slytherin team and felt like she really had something to prove. Especially since Kennedy has asked her to co the captain position with him, saying he was scared to be in charge of her. That made her laugh. Of course she had to give him a small shove for the Valentines Day message he sent her; but it really had made her laugh.
Few people were down in the Great Hall when Mary got there for breakfast. She ate a little, not as much as she usually would, but more than most the other players probably would be able to stomach. She then made her way down to the pitch, noticing some footprints in the snow showing she wouldn’t be the first down there. Valmer, their new seeker, was already warming up, flying around on his broom on the pitch when she arrived. Waving to him quickly Mary ducked into the change room and went back into the captain’s office in search of Kennedy.

((Please everyone remember to review the rules to the new system on the quidditch page if you haven’t already. Also, don’t forget the new rules about passing and the 12 Hour Rule. Passing – first attempt to shoot does not require a pass, then the next will. Every other attempt to shoot you must have at least one pass. 12 Hour Rule – if a bludger is hit during the first 12 hours of a round it will be resolved during that round – if it is hit during the second 12 hours it will only be resolved that round if the player is defended otherwise it will roll over onto the next round. Any questions or concerns can be directed to myself or your team captain/vice captain.))
The crowd was cheering and the teams were flying out. Madam Hooch walked out to the middle of the pitch and watched as slowly the players landed around her. Kennedy stood on one side with his team and Jasmine was on the other. ”Captains step forward. Shake hands please.” Madam Hooch said to the pair. As her orders were followed she smiled. “Remember, I want a nice clean game. Everyone can remount.”
The players shot into the air and Hooch opened up the crate, releasing the bludgers. When everyone was in place Hooch released the snitch and flew up above the chasers with the quaffle. “Ready, 3… 2… 1…” she called before dropping the quaffle down on the congregated players.

Jasmine was just flat out nervous as she sat in the crowded Great Hall that morning. She was always uneasy before a big Quidditch match. Her team had been working so hard, and she had to make some minor adjustments to the starting lineup. Some people weren’t going to be too happy, but it was what Jasmine thought would be good for the team. Taking a deep breath, Jasmine stared at the large container of orange juice. She should really eat. It wasn’t good to go through a Quidditch game without eating. Jasmine had done that before, but she wasn’t much of a morning eater. She ate mostly two large meals during the day, leaving breakfast out of the equation. Reaching a hand forward, Jasmine grabbed the handle of the container, pouring it into the goblet that lay in front of her empty plate. Setting the mug down, Jasmine kept her hand on the handle as she gazed around the table. There was always a variety of food to eat whether it is for any meal. “Jasmine, you need to eat something,” Brantley chimed in finally looking up across the table at her. Jasmine sighed nodding her head as she began looking for something decent to eat. Setting a hard boiled egg onto her plate, Jasmine also buttered and jammed her toast before beginning to eat slowly. Her nerves were beginning to slowly disappear but there were still butterflies floating around the bottom of her stomach. “You’ll do fine.” Smiling, Jasmine nodded. Her team had worked so hard lately; they were evenly matched against Slytherin. “I got to go. I’ll catch you later.” Kissing Brantley shortly on the lips, Jasmine got up and left the Great Hall toward the locker room to begin to dress.
Lacing up the last of her boots, Jasmine smoothed out her blue robes as she stood waiting for the rest of her team to finish dressing. Standing close next to Celia, Jasmine smiled at the chaser and new vice captain of her team. Adrian had recently stepped down, but she was still on the team. Jasmine was extremely grateful that the seventh years haven’t left the team completely. She was vitally important chaser of the team. “Alright, Ravens,” Jasmine began hoping to get everyone’s attention. As the air around the team became still, Jasmine stared at each of the members in the eyes. “We’ve worked really hard to prepare for this game. Even with the slight change in the starting lineup, I know we can pull through.” Nodding, Jasmine caught the eyes of August, smiling apologetically at him. She knew he wanted to player keeper in this game, but Jasmine needed him in beater just for this game. Everyone was going to get switched around eventually. “I know every captain says to go out and try your hardest. I agree with that saying. I know we all would like to win, but if we don’t, at least we can put up a good fight and make Slytherin work for their points!” Nodding Jasmine took a deep breath as she turned around, grabbing her broom that was slanted against the lockers. “Let’s show Slytherin what we got! Let’s soar!” Grinning, Jasmine motioned everyone forward, heading out of the warmth of the locker room into the bitter chill of February.
Standing in the middle of the pitch, Jasmine watched Madam Hooch as she motioned for the captains to shake hands. Stepping forward, Jasmine took hold of Kennedy’s hand shaking slowly and shortly before mounting her broom. There wasn’t anything that needed to be said. Jasmine hovered above her team mates, watching as everyone stared at the red quaffle in anticipation. The only thing Jasmine was worrying about was the golden snitch. Hearing the whistle, Jasmine quickly got out of the way of the chaser, hovering around the pitch for any hint of gold.

Elaine was feeling all different kind of emotions that morning. She sat with her back leaned against the lockers, her mind beginning to process what would happen in just an hour. You always had a different mind set when you stepped out on the pitch. Your senses were keener, and you were aware of almost every sound. Maybe it was all the adrenaline that surged through you when the crowd began to cheer. There were a few boos in there from the opposing team, but you could block out all those negative comments. Well, Elaine could. It was one of her specialties. It was just that when you stepped out onto that pitch everything changes. It could be good, or bad, but whatever occurrence happens, it was for a reason. Taking a deep breath, Elaine laced up the last of her boots as she leaned further back against the locker. Her Nimbus 2000 stood up straight next to her, untouched but the wood shinning from the care the past fortnight. Elaine liked to clean off her broom before a big game, even though this was her first official Quidditch game on the team. She was lucky Jasmine even auditioned her and put her in the starting lineup that day instead of the reserve spot that she had made. Looking around the room at the rest of the players, Elaine smiled as she noticed her dorm mate Adriahana. She had also tried out when Elaine did and made the reserve team as well. It was a lucky day for two of the fifth years since they were going to be in the starting line up.
As Jasmine began to speak, Elaine sat up staring at her captain. She stood next to the new vice, Celia. Elaine didn’t even want to look at Adrian’s face, but she still wondered if she felt bitter to the decision. Sighing, Elaine cheered at the end of the seventh year’s speech standing up from her spot on the bench. Following everyone outside, she shivered as a blast of cold wind greeted her body. Goosebumps rose on her arms, covering her pale skin. Even though she was wearing layers upon layers, she still felt freezing cold. Well hopefully that would all go away when the game began. Mounting her broom, Elaine flew up into the air watching the rest of the players as they did the same. The Slytherin seeker looked like her was warming up, turning around in tight circles. Jasmine however was still on the ground shaking hands with the other captain. Elaine hadn’t really met any of the Slytherin team, only Olivia, but they weren’t exactly acquainted with each other. Elaine still felt bad for breaking her skate board. Pushing those thoughts to the back of her mind, Elaine watched as the captains flew up into the air. Zooming forward, Elaine hovered next to Theo and Celia as Madam Hooch held the red quaffle in her hands.
Keeping concentrated Elaine waited patiently until she heard the familiar whistle with the releasing of the quaffle. Zooming forward, Elaine held out her outstretched hands hoping to snatch the quaffle out of the way of the opposing team first.

Post by Wynd Lehane on Feb 22, 2008 5:48:19 GMT
It was finally the big day. The day when Slytherin would beat Ravenclaw in the game of Quidditch. It was the game that the team had been waiting for. Ever since that silly practice where Kennedy made them lead each other around wearing blindfolds. Most of the Slytherin team was young and inexperienced but they were Slytherins. Of course they would be great. Wynd tried his best not to think that he would have to play with Valmer or Olivia. Neither one he was very fond of but they were his teammates and Wynd would try his best to put his feelings behind him and concentrate on the game. Wynd went down to the Great Hall and exchanged a few words with Ruby. Their relationship had been different ever since that day. They had tried to talk about it when they met in the Room of Requirement but they found it easier to talk about their plans rather than personal matters. Ruby wished him luck and he smiled at her as he left the Great Hall and headed toward the pitch already in his Quidditch gear.
The beginning of a game was always so boring. But he found it more dull as a player than a spectator. He tried his best to avoid any "go-for-it" speeches that Kennedy might give before the start of the match. When the players finally get to go to the field, the captains have to shake hands and Madam Hooch had to do her thing. Why couldn't games just start? Why was with the dramatics? It was obvious that Jasmine didn't want to shake Kennedy's hand and Wynd was fairly certain that Kennedy felt the same way. It was just a formality. Finally, Madam Hooch let them mount their brooms and they rose into the air. She released the balls and let the Quaffle drop. Wynd knew that he was going to get it first. He would show that just because he was a new player, did not mean he was bad one.

Dylan sat in silence while the rest of his team dressed and suited up, running his hand up and down his Firebolt. Surprisingly enough to him, he wasn't as nervous as he thought he would be. He felt a little anxious, excited even. The night before, he reminded himself over and over about his previous practices and training sessions. They all had went well. He was a decent beater, but now that he learned more about it from positioning, to how to actually hit the bludger, he felt he'd definantly do his team proud out there today. Not that he wanted them to take pride in him; maybe just for them to realize he was a great player and asset to their team. After all, Slytherin had a pretty young team this year; mainly from his year. But, age didn't matter. Everyone was definantly capable.
A few minutes later, they were walking out onto the Field, led by both Kennedy and Mary. For some reason, the sight of them gave him a bit more comfort. Dylan got into position and mounted his broom. This was it. With the whistle Dylan kicked off from the ground, and was surprised at first. This was only his second time flying with his Firebolt, and didn't mean to go as fast as he was. With this, his stomach did a little bit of a downslide. Why didn't he practice on his Firebolt if he knew he would play with it? Fighting agitation, he slowed down, and watched as Madam Hooch released the bludgers, snitch, and the Quaffle. Elaine Bently, Ravenclaw Chaser, immediately went for the Quaffle, and after a little hesitation, Dylan zoomed to the left in perfect position, and aimed a bludger at her.

Olivia sighed. She wanted to beat Ravenclaw in the fastest way possible. It wasn't like Olivia didn't love being on the team, it was just that she couldn't stand having to work with that Lehane boy. Hopefully he would cooperate. Olivia looked around, noticing his determined and impatient expression. She rolled her eyes as the captains shook hands. Olivia still didn't understand why they had to do that before every single game. The start ofa game was always so boring.
Olivia was glad when Madam Hooch told them to mount their brooms. She took off into the air, taking in her sorroundings. She positioned herself between Lehane and the goal posts so that if he was smart and decided to pass to her, she could score.

Post by Celia Richmond on Feb 22, 2008 17:09:17 GMT
Celia woke up early that morning, to be greeted by a cold chill in the air. Shivering as she got out of bed, she slipped on her slippers and pulled on her dressing gown, before washing, dressing, and going down to breakfast earlier than she normally would. Today she would be playing in her very first quidditch game for her house, as a chaser to start with at least, and hoped to do her team proud out on the field. However she knew from the previous game that scoring goals wasn't going to win you the match, catching the snitch was going to seal the win. She'd been disappointed when Hufflepuff ended up losing after being 30 - 0 ahead until Gryffindor caught the snitch, and she really hoped that Jazz would catch the snitch for them rather than the Slytherin seeker.
Only other quidditch players were in the great hall while she was eating, and not many of them either, so she quickly ate a warmm meal to fill her with energy for the match ahead, and made her way outside to the changing rooms. There was a biting wind outside, and it'd snowed a lot overnight. It was starting to snow more now, and she could tell it would be snowing more during the match, which wouldn't do her visibility any favours. She quickly got changed and stood next to Jazz, as she'd recently been appointed Vice captain. That was rather a surprise, seeing as she'd only just joined the team and hadn't played in any matches. Despite her other activities, Celia hadd gladly taken the oppurtunity to become the vice-captain, and she listened carefully to what Jazz had to say. "Well" she added "I don't think there's really that much to say, other than that I know we can beat those Slytherins, and I know that you'll all play to your best abilities. Go Ravenclaw!"
The team all grabbed their brooms and flew out onto the pitch. Jazz and Kennedy went to stand by Hooch, and shook hands before they took their positions. Hooch blew the whistle and released the balls into the air, and threw the quaffle into the middle of the field. Already chasers were flying after it, and the seekers were already after the snitch. Elaine was the Ravenclaw chaser from the Ravenclaw team to go after it first, so she hoped that she would catch it. She moved so that she was free to catch the quaffle if Elaine caught it and passed it on, but she was also wary of the Slytherins, and was prepared to intercept the pass from Wynd, if he ended up catching it.

Post by Valmer Van Ruster S7 on Feb 22, 2008 19:04:43 GMT
As Valmer finished up practicing on his own, he saw crowds coming and then his teammates showed up. He really did enjoy this team, and he loved playing with all of them on the pitch. Practices went really well, and he got along with most everyone. He and Wynd had put aside their differences (at least he thought they had) during games and practices. Working together had been rough for a while, but things seemed to be looking up.
Valmer looked around for his captain, but didn't see him anywhere. It wasn't like Kennedy to be late for a match, but then again, if he was late, he would likely have his reasons. Valmer reached down and relaced his loose boots, tightening them. He reached into his pocket of the robe he was wearing, and pulled out his black gloves. Slipping them on, he grabbed his broom and walked over to the rest of his team. "Let's do this guys," he simply said. Madame Hooch released the bludgers, and Valmer watched closely as she held the one thing he was after: the golden snitch. She let it go, and it nearly disappeared out of sight.
Valmer jumped onto his broom and leaned hard the first time, speeding into the air, hearing the whizz of the snitch right behind his ears. "Guess it's going to be one of those days, isn't it?" he said to himself, knowing the snitch was never easily caught. He heard the sound again, and turned hard on a dime, stopping momentarily to look around him.

Post by Kennedy Valak S6 on Feb 22, 2008 21:26:45 GMT
Kennedy had been awake even before the sun had come up. It didn't help either that he was unable to sleep that well during the night. He kept tossing and turning as he was unable to stop thinking about the Quidditch match that was quickly aproaching. He was nervous, there was no denying it. As captain, it was his first game, and he felt a heavy responsibility to do his best to lead the Slytherin team to a victory. It wouldn't be easy though, that was for sure. Most likely, the game would come down to whether or not Valmer could get the Snitch before Jasmine, and since it was Valmer's first game as starting Seeker, Kennedy was unable to stop wondering if the game might end in Ravenclaw's favour. He was relieved that Mary had agreed to practically be a captain herself, equal with Kennedy in most aspects. Not only did he trust her ability to take care of the other Beaters and train them well, but he knew she really wanted to win as much as anybody else, if not even to a greater extent. Mary had a passion for Quidditch which was quite apparent.
The morning passed by, and the sun eventually came up and was shining rather brightly. Kennedy had skipped breakfast, too nervous to eat. He figured he might regret it later, but at the same time, he never could play well with a full stomach. Some people would argue that a good breakfast was necessary to do well, but for Kennedy, he felt it only slowed him down. After saying his farewell to Fiona, who agreed to come watch the game, Kennedy made his way down to the pitch. He wasn't the first one, that was for sure. There were already a few others gathered and ready for the game. Kennedy had spent enough time worrying though, and he knew that heading down early to the pitch would do him no good. He needed to stay inside and keep his muscles warm for as long as possible. They could tense up quite easily out in the cold.
Finding Mary in the players' quarters, Kennedy flashed her a nervous smile. He knew that in front of the rest of the team, he needed to appear confident and ready. For Mary though, he wasn't afraid to show his true feelings. Likely, she'd figure them out anyways. Nothing could easily be hid from her attentiveness. "Not going to be an easy game," he stated as they walked together to the pitch. Many of the players were there already, and the stands were filling up rather quickly. As always, there seemed to be an abundance of fans for the other team. Slytherin never did gain much respect from the other three houses. It always seemed that the only cheers Slytherin got were from those wearing the green and silver. He wouldn't have been surprised one bit if both Gryffindor and Hufflepuff were rooting for Ravenclaw to win. Though, that meant nothing in the grand scheme of things. Kennedy knew, as well as anybody who was at least somewhat knowledgeable about Quidditch, that a heavy responsibility was put on the Seeker. And, since Kennedy had chosen Valmer and been the one to train him for the most part, Kennedy felt a lot of that responsibility riding on him as well. Often, the captain could easily become the scapegoat when a team lost, no matter whose fault it really was. And, perhaps that was rightfully so. After all, the captain was supposed to be the one to draw the team together so that they could do their best.
With the huddle of Slytherin players around him, Kennedy figured it was that dreaded time for the captain's speech. He hated speeches though, and he wasn't really sure if there was anything more he could say to motivate his team. Short and sweet, he decided. "I'm not going to stand here and tell you all what you have to do. Everybody knows what there job is, so just get up there and do it. Simple as that. And I don't care what any of you think, we are a team today. Put aside your differences or else we are going to lose. I'm not going to lose to this bloody team." He made eye contact with each and every one of the players, making sure that they knew he was serious. It was a young team for the most part, and he wasn't about to let them go out there and pay for themselves. If they wanted to be on the team, they'd play as a team.
Madam Hooch gathered the players around, and Kennedy approaching Jasmine without much emotion at all. He robotically shook her hand, all the while thinking about what he needed to do to lead his team to victory. Then, the players mounted their brooms and Kennedy flew to the Slytherin goal posts. It was his first game as Keeper, but he was determined to do his best to stop any and every shot that the Ravencaw team threw his way. He knew that aside from the one Chaser, the two others were new to the Ravenclaw team. It didn't mean that they weren't good, but Kennedy hoped it meant that they weren't great either. The whistle blew, and in a flash Kennedy watched as Wynd seemed to make the first move for Slytherin. Kennedy couldn't see who came out with the Quaffle, but he turned his attention to Valmer who flew nearby. "Don't let me down, Van Ruster!" he shouted. Then, Kennedy turned his attention back to the game and waited for the first attempted goal by the Ravenclaws.

“Here.” Wendi said handing Jamison a broom. Jami shook his head. “This isn’t my broom.” He explained. Wendi nodded. “I know. This ones better.” She claimed. Jamison laughed. “How?” He asked. Wendi rolled her eyes. “It’s lucky.” True, Jamison did believe in luck, but this wasn’t something to take a chance on. “Wendi..” He said in a parent sort of way. She laughed. “Look, I swear. Jesse Stevens scored a winning goal on it last year. Even the snitch couldn’t beat her on this broom.” Jamison shook his head. “It’s lucky. Please use it.” She pleaded. Jeez. Why was it so hard to say no to his little sister? Really? After all, she had annoyed him for years. Still, it was almost as if Jamison had raised her himself. It as hard to deny her, her silly little pleasures. After all, she would be at Hogwarts next year without him. Jamison figured that until then he would be as kind to her as possible. Jamison sighed. “Maybe.” She smiled. Wendi squealed. “Yay. Jesse would be thrilled.” Wendi said as she started to run off. “Would be?” Jamison asked. Wendi nodded. “Yea. She’s in St. Mungo’s with amnesia. She fell off that broom right after the game. But, don’t worry, they caught the broom.” Jamison eyed the broom. “Great..” He muttered under his breath and then laughed at Wendi as she ran off.
The air was still rather chilly, but the quidditch robes did help to an extent. Jamison pulled on his gloves and eyed the broom. Jamison still wasn’t sure if he wanted to use it or not, but at least he had a little while longer to think about it. Jamison shook his head and then shifted his eyes to Jasmine as she made her speech. Jamison nodded and smiled. This would be one of the last quidditch matches he might ever play. Jami wanted to win, but if they didn’t, it wouldn’t be the worst thing. Jami quite enjoyed quidditch so at least he would have fun while playing. After Hogwarts, Jamison would probably never play again. He wasn’t about to go off and join a professional team. After all, those players were amazing. But Jamison would make time to see a match or two. He nodded and smiled as Jasmine finished her team. Jamison stood up and grabbed his broom. Man, why did he let Wendi control him?
The stands roared as the teams took their places. Jamison glanced at the Slytherin players. They were a good, strong team, but so were the Ravens. Jamison was confident, but he knew that anything could happen. He eyed the Hufflepuff stands. Even though they weren’t playing in this game, a good handful of them game out for the match. Jamison laughed as he spotted Wendi. She was dressed head to toe in blue and yellow. One side blue and the other yellow. The Parson family had been in Ravenclaw House for centuries. Keith and Wendi were the only exceptions. Wendi was proud of being in Hufflepuff but she was also proud of Jamison and her parents even if they weren’t around to see this. Jamison smiled and shook his head as he took his position. Then, the whistle sounded and he jetted off on his new ‘lucky’ broom. The Chasers all rushed to get the quaffle. Jamison nodded as Celia and Wynd went for the quaffle. He then jetted over to Elaine to defend her from the bludger heading her way.

Soon enough Kennedy came, he looked nervous. “Nope, you’re right. But we’ll do it and we’ll win it. It will be a huge boost to the new guys.” She said when he admitted fears about the game. “Come on Captain, we need to motivate the team and get out there.” The pair went into the main dressing room and Kennedy gave a little speech, it wasn’t the most traditional speech but it was honest and on game day that’s what counts. It’s funny, all the “Ra ra here we go!” speeches never mean as much as the honest ones.
Quickly they were outside and the captains were doing their traditional handshake. Mary mounted her broom and sped up into the air with the other players. Balls were released and there they went. Mary noticed Dylan going after one of the bludgers and was determined to get to the other before the Ravenclaws did.
Finding the bludgers were not the hard part. It was hitting them in the right direction that it became difficult. Noticing a young Ravenclaw beater hovering in the crowd Mary gave a small grin, she found her target. Getting to the bludger she swung her bat and felt the familiar feeling of hard impact.

((Just a small reminder, any actions for next round will need to be reposted next round or they will not be rolled.
Dylan hits a bludger at Elaine and Jamison tries to defend. Dylan = Bludger (D6 + Str) = 4 + 4 = 8 Jamison = Defending (D8 + Str) = 4 + 5 = 9
Jamison defends Elaine and deflects to Wynd. There is a bludger heading at Wynd.
Mary hits a bludger at August. There is a bludger flying at August.
Elaine and Wynd go for the quaffle. Elaine = Catching (D4 + Dex) = 2 + 6 = 8 Wynd = Catching (D4 + Dex) = 4 + 6 = 10
Wynd has the quaffle.
Jasmine and Valmer search for the snitch. Jasmine = Search (D30) = 28 Valmer = Search (D30) = 9
9 and 28 are not the snitch numbers. Neither seeker notices the snitch.))

Wynd felt the fingers of his left hand touch the seamless leather of the Quaffle and he knew that he had caught it. It was a tense moment at first as both Elaine and Wynd shot toward the Quaffle, but Wynd was swifter. He thanked Dylan in his head for sending that Bludger straight at Elaine. It didn't do any good, thanks to that bloody Ravenclaw, but it was the thought that counted. The night that the two shared on the castle tower flashed in his mind but he quickly put it out of his mind. There was no time for reminiscing during a Quidditch game. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the same Bludger that was headed toward Elaine a second ago headed toward him. There wasn't much time to think and Wynd spotted Olivia near the goal. He hated doing this but he had to do it. He passed to her.

Olivia glanced around and noticed that she was the only one open for a shot. She looked straight at Wynd and was glad when he finally gave in and passed the Quaffle to her. She smirked as she held her arms up to catch the quaffle, noticing some Ravenclaw prefect in the year above head toward her. At least Lehane was doing something right. Olivia half expected him to sneer and pass it to Caleb, the seventh year chaser the entire game. It was an understatement to say Olivia and Wynd didn't get along.

Post by Celia Richmond on Feb 23, 2008 15:47:20 GMT
Celia wasn't pleased at all as she saw that Wynd from the Slytherin team caught the quaffle before Elaine managed to. The only thing she could think of doing to try and help the Ravenclaw team was to try and intercept the pass. Luckily there was a bludger, hit by Jami, heading towards Wynd which hopefully would distract him and make him throw the quaffle poorly so she could catch it. She was sure that evenm if the pass was successful and Olivia tried to shoot that Adriahna would be perfectly capable of defending the goals. And if Olivia happened to score, Ravenclaw still had plenty of time to catch up and win. Well, that was if the pass to Olivia was even successful, which it wouldn't be if Celia had anything to do with it, so she quickly flew to a place inbetween the two Slytherins hopefully to intercept the pass. Jami was now also hitting a bludger at Olivia, which would hopefully hit her, giving Celia more of a chance to catch the quaffle, and pass to one of her fellow chasers who could then shoot.

Jasmine kept a steady gaze around the Quidditch pitch, her hazel eyes scanning everywhere possible for the golden ball. It was always so hard to find. It could be anywhere! Even below the stands exploring under the stadium. Sighing, Jasmine looked up briefly from her searching watching her team in action. Elaine hadn’t caught the ball, but Jamison had saved her from a possible bludger attack. “Good job, Jamison!” Jasmine shouted loudly across the pitch her eyes soon rested upon Celia who was trying to intercept the pass. Everything looked like it was going along smoothly. Returning her attention back on snitch searching, Jasmine diverted her course toward the goal hoops circling around them carefully.

Valmer flew around the sides of the pitch, searching nearly everywhere for the golden snitch. He usually had a keen eye, and his speed was never something to be laughed at, but today was going to prove his worth. The snitch was hiding quite well today, yet Valmer knew he had it in him to find it. A few more whizzes passed his ears, and he jerked his head around, looking for it. Some of those sounds had just been him flying around, but could the snitch be close? Valmer then looked down and around at some of his other teammates. "Come on, guys! We can do this!" he yelled, over the rushing wind. He hoped his teammates would come through.
