((Just a note; as this is the final round before Christmas Eve we will be making it extra long to keep players who may not have time or access to a computer from suffering. This round will end at the normal time on Thursday, December 27. Great question Cass. If you have any questions or concerns about this please feel free to contact either myself or a staff member.
As well, in the old system we had a rule where there had to be at least 1 pass before a shoot on goal could be taken which we forgot to add into the new system. Therefore to make things fair we will be trying a new rule for this game, every other shot on goal (per team) there has to be at least one pass. This is to say that now Hufflepuff have had 1 pass-less shot so next shot they must pass first. Gryffindor is in the process of passing so next round (if the pass succeeds) they can shot and their next shot requires no pass. This will hopefully balance out passing and shooting. Again, anyone with questions or concerns please let me know!
Finally, I will not be rolling actions for next round in this one. Please post them next round if you wish to perform them.
Arywiel sends a bludger at Ivy; Ashley attempts to defend. Arywiel = Bludger (D6 + Str) = 5 + 4 = 9 Ashley = Defending Bludger (D8 + Str) = 7 + 4 = 11
Ashley defends Ivy and deflects the bludger toward Cassandra. There is a bludger flying at Cassandra.
Branden sends a bludger at Ivy; Ashley attempts to defend. Branden = Bludger (D6 + Str) = 6 + 5 = 11 Ashley = Defend Bludger (D8 + Str) = 1 + 4 = 5
Ashley fails to defend Ivy. It is assumed Ashley would warn Ivy and she would swerve. Branden = Bludger (D6 + Str) = 3 + 5 = 8 Ivy = Avoid (D8 + Dex) = 3 + 4 = 7
Ivy fails to avoid the bludger. Ivy has no actions and therefore does not need to concentrate.
Lenora attempts to pass to Maryn; nobody tries to steal or intercept. Maryn has the quaffle.

Ivy was being targeted by several Bludgers, Harmony noted sadly, and hoped her Captain would be okay. Still dazed from the happenings around her, she watched in frustration as Maryn took off, finally seeing an opening for her to get the Quaffle. Hurriedly, Harmony directed her broomstick after the red-haired Gryffindor as she in turn tailed Lenora. The seventh year was heading swiftly towards the goalposts, and it was likely she would pass to Maryn. The Beaters were going to start aiming at Lenora, and she readied to throw the Quaffle at Maryn. “Not yet.” Harmony gritted her teeth in dissatisfaction, a few metres behind her target. She watched as Maryn received the large red ball. Annoyed, Harmony forced her broomstick to pull ahead, glad she had speed as an advantage and her weight and height did not hinder her.
Harmony quickly caught up to Maryn and surpassed her, the wind howling in her ears, though Harmony was so used to it by now she barely noticed. It stung her cold cheeks also, but the adrenaline flowing through her joints gave her the warmth and energy to change direction on her broom and fly at Maryn now, face screwed in determination. Harmony’s movements were fast, but unlike how others expected, did not lack ferocity; still, she was careful not to hurt Maryn in the process. No, Harmony was aiming for the Quaffle in the Gryffindor’s hands as she sought to punch it from out of her hands. ”Here goes…” Harmony thought in her head. This would be her first touch of the Quaffle if she were to be lucky today.

Zara’s heart thumped hard against her ribcage as she watched a Bludger fly at Cass, having been deflected by Ashley when defending the Captain of the Hufflepuffs, Ivy. However, Zara’s eyes were torn away as the Quaffle was already not in Cass’ possession, and she needed to do her job and focus on the game at hand. Hopefully Cass would be okay. As Zara zipped back up the pitch, trying to outrun the Beaters on her tail as well as the blocking Chasers of the opposition, she was vaguely aware of Branden hitting a Bludger at Ivy again. Zara was beginning to feel sorry for her, but there was no mercy in a Quidditch game, and this only meant that Gryffindor had the advantage. Resisting a loud cheer when Ashley failed to block the Bludger, Zara praised Branden inwardly for his skills.
Zara’s eyes nipped back to her fellow Chasers. Lenora had the Quaffle, and was racing up the pitch with others hot in pursuit. Zara was one of them, as well as their last third of the Chaser equation, Maryn. She was being marked by Harmony. Zara outweighed her chances of being passed to with Maryn’s. She was currently further away than Maryn was, and there were other people closing up behind Zara; she could hear, through the rustling of the wind, their movements shadowing her. As Zara expected, Lenora threw the Quaffle at Maryn, who caught it. Harmony was still some way behind, and Maryn began to tear through the air to reach the goalposts, where Sophia was awaiting. Zara watched as Harmony seemed to propel herself forwards from Maryn having the Quaffle, and had soon overtaken the red-head. Realising that Harmony planned on tackling Maryn for the ball, Zara swooped sideways to near her team mate and wave her arms in the air to signal that she was there if need be. Maryn could attempt to pass to her, but the likelihood of Harmony intercepting such a pass was high.

Ary frowned as her Bludger was beaten towards Cass. She couldn't make it to the girl, so she was thrown off course. Arywiel tucked in her elbows and propelled herself forward. She was ready to slam back any more Bludgers. The game was slowly getting more and more dirty, she observed, clenching her jaw. Hopefully Gryffindor would finally cut to the chase and score. Ary stole forwards, swinging her bat like a truncheon, ready to ward off the heavy balls. She glanced up and made out Maryn with the quaffle. The girl was tearing towards the hoops, the Quaffle held tightly. Ary spotted Harmony trying to intercept the Gryffindor chaser, or ward off any passes. A burst of energy tingled through Ary's fingertips, bursting through her body, setting her on fire. She gripped her broom even harder and raced forwards, chewing her tongue. She halted a foot away from another oncoming Bludger and sent it towards Harmony with all her might. She watched the ball whizz through the air, bat still poised and chest heaving.
Finally she turned and drew up to Lenora, ready to chase the next Bludger.

Maryn gasped as she grabbed the quaffle. She really thought that the pass would be intercepted, but apparently she had been in the right place at the right time. Maryn eyed the Chasers around her as she gained speed and headed for the Hufflepuff goal posts. Maybe this was it. She just had one chance to get a goal. Just one, right now. Maybe she could do this. Maryn nodded to herself as she dodged players to reach the goal. Out of the side of her eyes, Maryn noticed Harmony Chan who Maryn knew casually. But this wasn’t about friends and what-not. This was a game. This was the game that Maryn had been taught by her dead friend to play. Really, she was playing it in his memory, but no one knew this. Maryn kept that part to herself.
Maryn could see that Harmony was near her. She would try to stop any move that Maryn made. She could also see that Zara was open, but Maryn was closer to the goal than to Zara. She had more of a chance making a goal. Maryn gained speed and tried her best to near the Goal Post. Everything was happening so fast. Yep, Maryn would defiantly have a head-ache after this was all over. Maryn nodded to Zara but then nodded her head toward the goal as to tell her team-mate her next move. Maryn made a mental note to try to get the quaffle to Zara at some other point in the game. Maryn knew that she was a good player. As Maryn finally approached the Hufflepuff goal, she tried her best to leave forward and shoot. But everything around her was so crazy, Maryn didn’t know what the outcome would be.

((A correction to the last roll. I mis-understood what Weetzie was trying to do and so didn't realise she was trying to intercept. Therefore; I will roll that now. Lenora attempts to pass to Maryn and Weetzie tries to intercept. Lenora = Passing (D6 + Dex) = 4 + 6 = 10Weetzie = Intercept (D4 + Dex) = 3 + 4 = 7 Maryn has the quaffle.( EDIT: Lenora should be given dexterity bonus, not strength so Maryn has Quaffle... I will post Ivy according to this assumption. Thanks for adding Weetzie in, Madam Hooch.)Sorry for the confusion everyone...))

The game wasn't going too badly. The bludger Arywiel hit towards the newly substituted-in Harmony was dodged, despite Bryce failing to block it. The bludger Ashley sent to Zara wasn't dodged or blocked, so Zara was hit, which could only be a plus for the Hufflepuff team! However, Ivy didn't manage to block the pass from Cass to Lenora, so Lenora now had the quaffle-it wasn't a good thing for Hufflepuff, she was a strong Chaser, as were most of the team. Both seekers were still searching for the snitch for limited success-she hoped Charlie would catch it sometime soon.
Arywiel was now trying to send a bludger at Ivy, which, thankfully, Ashley managed to deflect, so it was now heading towards Cassandra. However, Branden was also sending a bludger towards Ivy...another blow for the Hufflepuff team, especially as this time Ashley didn't manage to block and defend Ivy, so Ivy was hit by the bludger-luckily she wasn't doing anything too important at the time, so it wasn't as bad as it could've been. The quaffle was then passed from Lenora to Maryn, who then tried to shoot...Sophia held onto her broom, carefully paying attention to what Maryn was doing incase she gave any indication of where she was going to shoot.

Branden was satisfied to see Ashley failed to defend Ivy against his bludger, much as he liked Ivy he also wanted to win and knew she wouldn't be really hurt, just a little dazed. Ashley had, however, just defended Ivy from the other bludger and it was now flying off in another direction. Branden turned to see it dangerously close to Cass and bolted after it.

Ashley swung hard at the first bludger into a new path of direction toward Cass. Noticing the other bludger, Ashley raced forward holding out her bat hoping to stop it. The iron ball zoomed right by her hitting Ivy again. Cursing under her breath, Ashley tried hard to keep her temper from raising. Branden was good, no excellent, and was better than Ashley could be. Looking up she noticed Branden defending Cass, and another bludger head toward Harmony. What was up with the whole double attack. "Not this time." Racing forward to Harmony side, Ashley squinted her face in concentration, swinging hard against the bludger.

It was getting difficult to distinguish between the Bludgers. Ivy tried to count up how many she'd dodged, how many she'd been defended from, and how many had hit her as she cradled her fingers following the last Bludger hit. On the plus side, she had not yet suffered a critical hit and she could tell that Ash was riled now. A bit of induced spirit in a Beater could lead to great things... Ivy hoped that it would for her friend. Also on the plus side, they'd spent long enough going for her that Weetzie had had a chance to attempt to intercept a pass. She didn't succeed though. Perhaps she'd be better off doing something else.
Ivy pondered for a moment, and then flew up to Madam Hooch and again appealed to pause the game. "I'm taking Bryce Alexander out of the game for now, Professor," she said after she'd waited for Madam Hooch to blow her whistle, "and putting Weetzie O'Keeffe in as Beater. Sydney's coming back in as Chaser." She smiled, adding, "Thanks," since it was more trouble to Madam Hooch than continuous gameplay.

You know this happens... come on Charlie catching the Snitch early on is never a real possibility... hang in there! Charles lost his focus for a few moments as he watched Ivy get hit by another Bludger. He was concerned for her and but had to battle that feeling - going to check on her right himself right now would be a really bad move - though the Hufflepuff in him was thinking game be damned Ivy came first! But she was flying and seemed quite alright so Charles cleared his head and once again refocused his energy and mind on the task at hand - zooming around the pitch Charles almost called for the Snitch, willing it to show itself or to just allow him to glimpse the quick shiny movement of his wings so he could fly for it.

Wow, this was a good game now! Ashley sent the bludger aimed at Harmony away, towards Maryn. However the bludger Ash sent to Cass was blocked by Branden, and was now heading towards Harmony. As Maryn kept the quaffle away from Harmony, and attempted to shoot, she followed Maryn's every move. Maryn threw the quaffle towards the right hoop, and as it was a relatively slow throw, Sophia managed to catch it easily. She now had the quaffle, and decided to throw it over to Ivy, seeing as she was free to catch it, though one of the Gryffindor chasers could possibly catch it.

Zara barely noticed as positions on the Hufflepuff team were swapped around promptly. Despite the quick exchanges, it seemed that the switches made were complex. Bryce had been substituted out, with Weetzie going into Beater position and Sydney once again rejoining the Chaser line-up. Zara eyed the sixth year girl closely as Harmony swooped in on Maryn in hope to steal the Quaffle, but to Zara’s relief, Maryn sidestepped her and aimed for the goal hoops. Zara watched with bated breath as the Quaffle flew through the air, hoping they would score, only for Sophia, the fifth year Keeper, to save it. Disappointment causing her to grip her broom tighter, Zara wondered who Sophia would now pass to. Ivy? Harmony? Sydney? From inspecting where the younger girl was darting her eyes towards, Zara guessed her pass would be made to the Captain. A grim determination in set on her wind-bitten face, Zara urged her broom forward to cover the short distance. She reached her arms out, hoping she would grab the Quaffle and not let it slip past her fingers. If she got it, perhaps Gryffindor had a chance at a shot again, and this time Zara doubted they’d miss.

Ivy whooped in approval as Sophia caught Maryn's attempt on goal neatly. "Way to go, Sophia!" she yelled to her younger friend, clapping her hands. She was glad that she had done her job properly when it came to it - she was normally a reserve, but she had been looking promising in practice so she and Ash had decided to put her straight in the game. It seemed to have paid off. Ivy hoped that Sophia's confidence would just continue to rise from here.
She frowned a little as Sophia passed to her - she had to put on a burst of speed to make sure that she would get to it before a Gryffindor Chaser. It was Zara Phoenix, quite a popular girl in the year above her as far as she knew, who was trying to cut in there to get to the Quaffle before her. Well, Ivy wanted it. She stretched out her arms, hoping to complete the pass before Zara interrupted it.

Harmony groaned. Once again she had tried to intercept the Quaffle from a Gryffindor Chaser, and once again she had failed in her task. Harmony was getting frustrated. Plus, she had narrowly missed a Bludger that had flown her way. Watching Maryn’s quick moves surpass her in the air, the Quaffle flying at the goal, Harmony felt her stomach drop, similar to the sensation when you fall from a high place, like off a broomstick, rushing towards the ground. However, as her eyes trailed the Quaffle, Harmony let out a huge sigh of relief when Sophia caught it neatly between her fingers. “Yes!” Harmony mumbled under her breath with a delighted expression on her face. “Good save, Sophia!” Harmony would’ve flown up to her fellow team mate and high-fived her then and there, but it wasn’t the best time to. Instead, she noted Sophia’s movements, realised she was to pass to Ivy, and swung herself to align before Maryn’s pathway again; she would tag the older girl in hope she would not receive the Quaffle again. Harmony did not wish to disappoint. Bryce was substituted out now, with Weetzie in as Beater and Sydney back in. Harmony knew their teamwork would win them the game. If only they could keep their hands on that Quaffle… and if Charles discovered the Snitch.

The game was going awesomingly for Gryffindor. Cass hooted and hollered with the rest of the crowd as she watched all of her players play supperbly. Cass suddenly found herself caught off guard however when saw a bludger heading in her direction. Instinctively, she moved her right hand to smash the bludger away. Unfortunately, her hand only whipped air. Cass suddenly realized that she wasn't playing her usual position as beater. Cass closed her eyes and braced herself for the impact that never came. She peeped one eye open just in time to see Branden send the ball hurtling towards Harmony.
"Awesome Branden! Keep it up!" Cass hollered as she prepared to block her goals.

Maryn closed her eyes as Sophia blocked the goal and took the quaffle. So close. She shook her head. Oh well. You win some, you loose some. Maryn then turned around and headed toward the quaffle. She’d just have to try harder. Maryn noticed that Sophia was trying to pass the quaffle to Ivy. Maryn got closer, wanting to intercept. But she noticed that Zara was already going for it. Maryn nodded. She wanted to cheer for her teammate, but she didn’t want to tip the Hufflepuff Players off. No, she would have to stay quiet. Well, until Zara got the quaffle at least. Maryn saw Harmony right in front of her. The girl was determined to block Maryn as best she could. Maryn was about to try and get around her when she noticed the bludger that someone had directed toward her. She couldn’t see any beaters near her for the moment so she held her breath and tried her best to swerve.

The game had been going for a bit now, and most of Scott's nerves had dwindled to just a slight uneasiness that settled in the pit of his stomach. He watched as the Gryffindor team took a shot at the goal, but it was a failed attempt as the Hufflepuff Keeper successfully blocked the shot. Scott frowned with disappointment and then spun another circle around the pitch in search for the Snitch. He still kept an eye on Charlie with his peripheral vision when he could, but Scott was more concentrated on looking for the Snitch. Sure, if Charlie saw it, then Scott would need to follow, but he was hoping that he might see it first so that it would be Charlie who had to do the following instead of himself. It always seemed that the first Seeker to see the Snitch had the better chance of catching it. It wasn't always the case, but it seemed to Scott that he needed any advantage that he could get. By this time, the crowd's cheers had faded, not completely, but just enough that Scott felt a little less nervous. He still wished though that Gryffindor might score a couple of quick goals just to get the momentum going and perhaps boost some spirit. With a sigh and another push on his broom handle, Scott dipped and ducked around the other players as he steered clear of Bludgers and continued on his tireless search for the Snitch.
