Rachel Mason sat gracefully in a lounge chair in the Slytherin Common Room, enjoying the looks she was given. Opening her journal, she began to write deliberately, carefully choosing the words of her poem. After a few minutes, however, she began to get bored; being stared at was only fun if it was leading to a conversation at some point. She glanced around the room, hoping to get some sort of eye contact. "Why is everyone here so hideously insecure?" Rachel murmured to herself when nobody could look her in the eye. She flipped her hair impatiently and began glaring at the door. Perhaps that would amuse her for a while. Opening her journal again, she began to write again. Out of the corner of her eye she saw a figure walking towards her, looking as if they had something to say.

Cherokee's mysterious blue eyes searched her dorm. Where did she put it? She tugged at her loose pigtail in thought and then got on the floor on all fours. There it was! Kee pulled it from underneath her bed and smiled. Why had she placed it there? She shrugged and flipped one of her pigtails over her shoulder. She didn't look childish, in fact the hair style was that messy but sophisticated look and with her bangs framing her face, her eyes stood out miraculously. Kee slipped her shoe on and made her way into the common room. It was moderately full but no one was conversing. Except for one girl who looked like she wanted some conversation. Kee would have gladly given some if it hadn't been the horribly pathetic girl she had been arguing with earlier on in the week. Sighing, Kee looked around once more. OK. It was pointless to have any enemies, especially those in her own house, much less in her own dorm.
Kee stepped toward and was finally right near the girl, she sat down on the arm chair and watched her for a moment. "I wasn't using it as an insult, you know. The bipolar thing. I was really asking it. If you are bipolar, I know people who can help you with it." Cherokee leaned back in the chair and continued to watch her before looking down at her hands and fiddling with her bracelet.

Aurora ran into the common room, down the hall, up the stairs, and rushed into her dorm room. She removed her trunk from under her bed and immediately began taking things out of drawers, stuffing things into her trunk from under her bed, and packing away any belonging of hers she found laying around the dorm. She packed all her clothes, her books, and everything else so quickly it was amazing they all fit together so well.
As she was packing, she noticed a familiar looking girl enter the dorm. Aurora recognized her to be Cherokee Manstyns...better known as Kee. Apparently, Kee was looking for something, but in a matter of minutes, she found it because she was on her way back to the common room. Aurora shrugged and continued on with her packing. Aurora had all her things set and ready when she realized, the Hogwarts train didn't leave the station until 11:00 AM the next day. Knowing this, Aurora removed the scrapbook from her trunk and went down to the common room with it...hopefully she would be able to find more clues as to who exactly her father was.
As she entered the common room, she noticed quite a few more familiar faces, like the girl who was fighting with Kee Manstyns...but she ignored them...Aurora didn't want to be caught in the middle of one of those cat fights ever again. Hopefully, the two girls wouldn't notice Aurora sitting in the corner looking at her scrapbook...hopefully.

Rachel watched in dismay as a girl sat on the arm of her chair. Looking up, she saw it was the hateful girl she had the fight with a little while ago. She listened carefully, and was surprised when Cherokee spoke. "No, I don't have bipolar. I was tired, and snapped. I then apologised. It was rude for you to join our conversation and make assumptions," she said, looking Cherokee in the eye. But she didn't snap at her. Cherokee was pathetic, but she had held her own while fighting with Rachel, and Rachel liked that. She hadn't backed down until the very end, and that was one thing that Rachel looked for in people. "But I accept that you weren't meaning it as an insult. Thankyou," she said. "Truce?" She asked, looking Cherokee straight in the eye.
Looking out the corner of her eye, Rachel spotted Aurora. Was it Aurora? The girl was huddled in the corner with her scrapbook. Groaning, Rachel thought back to the day she fought with Cherokee. Aurora had been there with that girl Patricia, and had talked to her after Cherokee left. She had enjoyed their attention, but now it seemed she didn't really want to be around either of them. Nodding her head towards Aurora, Rachel smiled. "Think we should put her out of her misery?"

Patricia was pacing back and forth, back and forth. Over and over.
As she entered the common room, holding a paper, not noticing anyone one at all was there. She mumbled the letter over to her self, time and time again. She then sat down by he fire and curled up in a little ball on the chair, confixed on the little piece of paper. “SLIMY BASTERED” she screamed, she crumbled up the paper and threw it in the fire. She watched it burn. You could see the reflection of the fire in her eyes if you looked close enough. Her eyes were watery. She shoved her face in her knees and hugged them tight. She then looked up and noticed Aurora Rachel and Cherokee. She looked startled. And a little bit embarrassed as her pale cheeks went form snow white to a rose red.
“Oh I am sorry hope I did not interrupt anything” she put her knees down and wiped away her tears as fast as she could. She smiled at the three girls with warmth. “Oh great my third week or whatever at Hogwarts. Now they know I am real baby. Crying, You’re an idiot Patricia. Don’t be such a bloody baby” she said to her self “BLIMY IDIOT” she screamed while smacking her head. She then turned to the girls again and let out a nervous laugh. “Hi?” she said now utterly appalled. “Great” she sighed.
“Now they think I am insane,” she thought to herself yet again

Have Bipolar? Was bipolar something you had? Kee didn't think it was, but she didn't say anything. She also didn't say anything when Rachel said it was rude of her to butt into their conversation. She didn't see it as rude, considering they were standing in the middle of an empty hall way and she was being completely psycho, but whatever Rachel wanted to believe she could believe. Kee understood that she wasn't going to change anybody's mind, so why try? She kept quiet and she just nodded when Rachel offered truce. Though she knew that truce wouldn't last long. It would only last until Kee did something to tick Rachel off and then Rachel would jump at the chance to start the most scandalous rumors about Kee. Cherokee knew how girls like Rachel worked all too well, and she was far more experienced at playing their game than most.
Rachel then said something about going to talk with Aurora, and Kee looked over in the direction she had nodded. The girl seemed to want to be alone, but then again she might just look that way and be yearning for company. Kee never knew what to do in situations like this, and this was why she stayed away from people. This was why Kee wasn't very social. She had been a moron to have talked to anyone. She had done just well the past two years keeping to herself. Why had she let Jay's words impact her? If she had just kept to her mindset she wouldn't have any enemies and she certainly wouldn't feel like she needed friends. Of course, she didn't need friends. Sometimes company was needed. But did Aurora want the company?
Before she could say anything, however, Patricia Dawsinson came by. She started screaming and started to act rather insane and Kee's face was stolid. Did she just want attention? Or was she actually insane? Kee raised an eyebrow and leaned over to Rachel, "Now, I think that is a prime example of being bipolar." She whispered low enough for only Rachel to hear.

Patricia sat there staring off at Cherokee. Then she was pointing to the fireplace in confusion. “ Hi, oh haha, that well…. yeah…that was. Um... well... I…” they all looked at her confused. “Well…”she scratched her head. She froze staring at the three girls embarrassed as heck at the moment. “Oh…well. I-I have…… been known for being, mildly bipolar, but, but, but it has never. Never has been proven…” here was utter silence. “ok yeah I am shutting up now” her cheeks turned bright red and she sat back down in the chair by the fire with here back turned to the girls.
She was utterly embarrassed at the moment. That wasn’t supposed to happen, she didn’t know anyone was there at the moment. She just always seems to do something wrong… and always made a fool of herself. Especially this year, it didn’t happen last year, and she was never used to embarrassing herself. She can’t understand why life was so hard for her this year what so ever.

Cherokee seemed to be accepting Rachel's truce with grace, so Rachel decided to respect it, even if Cherokee seemed a bit wary.
She looked over at Aurora and wondered if they should go over. The girl seemed to want to be alone, but then again, Rachel was bored. Just as she was about to stand up and walk over, Patricia walked in and started shouting and throwing things. Rachel raised her eyebrows. Her upper class heritage wouldn't let her express any disgust other than a look of pity, but she was horrified. She hoped Patricia wouldn't embarrass herself too much. Rachel smiled when Cherokee made the quip about Patricia being bipolar, and although she whispered it, Patricia seemed to hear.
When Patricia mumbled a response, Rachel instantly felt sorry for her. She seemed a lot like Rachel, although a lot less graceful, smart and beautiful, but with Rachel's guidance, she could really be something. Rachel could see Patricia had a spark in her, which intrigued Rachel. Giggling softly, Rachel turned to Cherokee. "Now, that isn't very nice. Patricia, come over here," she commanded. If Patricia turned out to be a disappointment, then it would at least be a bit entertaining for her, and Cherokee too.

Kee's face remained expressionless as Patricia continued to make a fool of herself. She was still trying to make sense of it. Was she trying to get attention? Or was she really going insane? It was hard to tell with anyone in Slytherin. It seemed, at least to Kee, that Slytherin girls were spoiled and stuck up and self centered until they hit their fifth or sixth year. Kee was an exception to that, having been raised differently than most spoiled Slytherin babies. It wasn't until Rachel spoke to her, that Kee showed any sign of interest. She shrugged when Rachel told her that wasn't too nice. "I suppose not." She turned to Patricia. "I am deeply, horribly, sorry. Would you ever find it in your gracious heart to forgive me?" Her eyes sparked nicely as she rolled them to look at Rachel.
Rachel then ordered Patricia to go to her, and Kee stifled a yawn. That was when it hit her. Why not go along with things for a bit? Why not be loyal to Rachel? She'll play her game of follow the leader for awhile. At least it would be good for some form of entertainment. Her plan wasn't fully thought of yet, it would take great thinking. But Kee knew what it would consist of. She smiled to herself softly and then came back to the current conversation. Kee listened intently, staying silent. If she was going to go through with her plan, she was going to go through with it perfectly. No mistakes. Nothing. There wasn't any room for mistakes.

Rachel stifled a laugh when Cherokee asked Patricia for forgiveness. "Yes, that's better," she laughed when Cherokee rolled her eyes to her.
She was waiting expectingly for Patricia to come over when she glanced at Cherokee. Narrowing her eyes, Rachel wondered what she was up to. Cherokee hadn't shown much interest but now she was leaning forward, listening attentively. Rachel sat up straight, thinking. Was Cherokee being genuine, or was she planning something? Nobody just suddenly changed their attitude without something prompting them, and Rachel made it a practice to never underestimate a Slytherin, even one like Cherokee.
Rachel quickly decided to keep going, mainly out of curiosity. She wanted to see what, if anything, Cherokee was planning. Was it for Rachel, or just Patricia? She just hoped Cherokee knew that whatever she could do, Rachel could do double. If Cherokee decided to take on Rachel, there would be hell to pay.

Patricia herd Rachel laugh a little at what Cherokee said "oh great" she mumbled. Then she herd Rachel call her over, almost like and order. Patricia stood up and froze, she thought, nobody tells her what to do, especially someone she barley knows. She thought about it, she could just walk over there and explain why she yelled but then she would have to get into the long story of her life and explain her father, her sister and mother and family history. She just would rather not tailk about that at the moment, and they probably wouldn’t care too much about that…. So she sat back down by the fire, and looked at Rachel “Never mind it was just letter nothing important, sorry if I blew up like that, I tend to do that when things piss me off” she said and then her eyebrows went down and she concentrate on what just happened. And what a fool she made of herself

Rachel watched in amusement as Patrica froze when she called her over. Quite predictable, when she thought about it. But she still kind of liked Patrica, even if the girl was kind of...below. "Hey, don't worry about it," she said sweetly. Giving a bright smile, she glanced momentarily at Cherokee, and the continued. "Seriously though, come over here. Join us," she purred. Still unsure of what Cherokee was planning, she gave a quick smile to Cherokee. "You don't mind, do you?" She asked, raising her eyebrows.

Kee tilted her head as Patricia gave a minor explanation about her episode. She had followed Rachel's command after standing frozen for a moment. Rachel seemed to take control of a lot of things and Kee just stayed in the back until she asked if Kee minded if Patricia joined them. Shaking her head, Kee leaned back into her seat and watched everything unfold around her. "No, please join us. We honestly have nothing else to do. Please, entertain us." She smirked a bit and then looked back at Aurora. She was still off on her own and Kee wasn't sure how much the girl actually wanted to be alone and how much of her was just being modest. Turning back to the other two girls, Kee smiled sweetly and crossed her right leg over her left leg.
She looked to Rachel, waiting for her to take charge of the conversation like she always seemed to do. They had shared a dorm room for three years, all of them, and they hardly knew each other. They were all strangers within their own house. This gives a new term to 'divided houses.' Kee thought as she waited for something to happen.

Patricia thought about it, “I guess it wasn’t all-bad…” she stood up and walked over, but she thought to herself “If Rachel told her what to do, that was it. She wouldn't have it; she walked over with a sweet smile. And winced at Cherokee and Rachel
She then sat down putting her blonde curly hair behind ear, accidentally exposing her bruise above her left eye, she smiled sweetly at Rachel and at Cherokee, but there was something up with Cherokee, she could feel it, she had that look, that fake sleazy look, and Patricia knows that look very well, she uses it A LOT, mind you.
“So what is going on with you too?” she asked leaning back in the chair,

Rachel smiled in satisfaction as Cherokee agreed with her, and Patrica sat next to her. "Thanks, Patrica. I feel bad that we all know so little about each other," she said sweetly, brushing her long black hair behind her ear. Glancing at Patrica, she widened her eyes at the bruise above her eye. "Ow, that looks like it hurt," she said, raising her eyebrows and ignoring Patrica's question. "What happened?" She asked, only her eyes reflecting the apprehension of the answer. Bruises always scared her.

Patricia took her seat, moved her hair to expose a bruise, and then asked casually what they were doing. Kee sat silently, and without saying anything, for Rachel was doing the concerned thing, she took out her wand and accio'd a special cream form her bedside table. The jar appeared in Kee's hand and she unscrewed the top. "It won't heal near soon enough, here." She stood from her seat, made her way over to Patricia and then dipped one finger into the jar. A clear cream appeared on finger and slowly she started to rub it on. "Don't worry, it's completely organic. No potions or chemicals or whatnot. I use it all the time. It's useful for bruises, cuts, scars, et cetera." Kee offered her a small smile and finished rubbing the cream into the bruise gently. She then placed the cap back on the jar and handed it to Patricia, "Here, you take this one. I have another up in the dorm." Kee handed the jar to Patricia and then returned to her seat.
Rachel had asked her what happened, and although Kee knew what that the question shouldn't have been asked she couldn't help but wonder what had happened, herself. She watched with interest, every now and then looking back at Aurora. Hopefully the other girl didn't feel like they were alienating her. Finally, Kee raised her left hand slowly in a greeting to Aurora and then motioned for her to come over and join them. Why not? The more the merrier.
((I propose a system, since we all have seemed to have gotten our signals crossed. How about it goes in an order? Something like: Rachel, Kee, Patricia. And then Aurora if she joins?))

Patricia eyes widened and her eyebrows shot up when Rachel mentioned the bruise above her left eyebrow, she looked down immediately as her curly blond hair fell over the scar, she looked as if she was hiding something, “oh that” she turned her head to side. There was a silents for almost a minute, then she turned her head toward Rachel again with a smile. As if nothing bothered her. “I-I uh…. um…. I-I I fell down the stairs…over the holiday, me and my sister were running and I tripped down the stairs.” She said with a smile…. (totally fake mind you.) “So what did you two do over the holidays?” she asked avoiding the conversation completely. She stared at Cherokee and Rachel. As if what Rachel asked about her bruise, never happened

Rachel looked up at Patrica, hoping that the girl didn't think she was sounding the least bit sincere. She was glad that Cherokee had given her that cream - even though she knew the bruise was still there, the fact that it was covering soothed Rachel's nerves. Annoyed that she had let her guard down for a split second, Rachel flashed Patrica a grin. "Fell down the stairs, huh? That's nasty," she stretched her arms out and let out a contented sigh. "What did I do on the holidays? Not too much. I want to go shopping sometime. Other than that, I've had a pretty easy holiday," she giggled.
Rachel glanced over and grinned when she saw Cherokee motion for Aurora to come over. Yes Aurora, she thought wickedly. Rachel was feeling defensive, and she was going to make herself feel better the only way she knew how. "Yes, Aurora, come! The more the merrier," she chirped. "So, Patrica, what have you been up to?" She asked, looking Patrica in the eye

Patricia smiled at Auroa as well, and nodded for her to join them. “Hmm…let me think. Well not much” she replied… “Oh me and my friend Hannah, well she spent a couple days with us at my fathers cabin, for the holidays. So that was nice to have her there. Someone to talk to other than my little sister and family. But Hannah…well she never was accepted into Hogwarts sadly. I guess, she just wasn’t. I don’t why. It really bothered me at first. But I am fine with it now. But sadly my holidays were cut short so I came back about a week ago. My father and mother had some business to attend to at work, so my sister is staying with our nanny, Lucille now. You want to see a picture of her?” she asked, smiling at Rachel. “I think I have one, let me check”
She pulled out her wand and flicked “lemgarnium levi-osa” and out of the bedroom, came flouting a picture of a family that was waving by a cabin in the snow. Patricia flicked her wand and the picture came to her. She held it in her hand and showed it to Rachel. “That is Sierra with the red hair standing next to me, she is my little sister.” The two girls were waving and smiling up at Patricia. “That is my father and my mother” there were two adults in the picture, the man was very stern and tall with dirty blonde hair. The women had red auburn curly long hair and pale skin, she was beautiful, she was also very short, and resembled Patricia a lot. She was talking to the man. While he was ignoring her completely and just standing still in the picture. “Well…. that basically was my holidays, what about you. Anything exciting?” she asked with the sweetest smile.

Rachel returned Patrica's smile with a sweet one of her own. "Your friends are beautiful," she said, glancing towards the picture and then grinning. "And so is your family," she continued. Lifting her head, she looked Patrica in the eye. She knew Patrica was hiding something from her, and that was no acceptable in Rachel's books. Deciding that the only way to get Patrica to trust her was to play nice, she continued to smile. "As I said before, my holidays haven't been too intellectually stimulating, what with just lying around and shopping," she said, laughing, "but it's been quite relaxing. I've never been at Hogwarts over the holidays before, and it's not as bad as everyone makes out. No one's here so it's quite private," she purred, combing her hair back with her fingers. Turning to Cherokee, Rachel smiled. "What about you, Cherokee? Good holidays?" She asked.
