After her speech Millicent released the girl’s hair and watched as the Gryff took a defensive position and the Raven tried to play a hero. She simply smirked at him as he seemed to think he could best her; foolish child, almost made her think he was a Gryffindor. Oddly enough another Sixth year Slyth decided to join their party; the newly reformed Perseus to be exact. She gave him a court nod in greeting before he as well began to question the choices of the girl not worthy to be called Slytherin. The little girl who was at fault for all this stir had yet to address any of them when Dawn’s bother, Aden, approached from another area of the shop. Millicent raised her eyebrow at him wondering why anybody would choose to spend time in such a distasteful place, alone especially. It wasn’t time for questions though as Aden gave his two Knuts on the extent of the girl’s disgrace. Millie made a tisking sound as he proclaimed that her actions only dishonoured herself and not all of Slytherin. “The sorting hat claimed she was worthy of being in Salazar’s house with us; this means everything she does not only reflects upon herself but us as well. You think the riffraff in other houses have the brainpower to differentiate between those true to Salazar’s beliefs and those let in because the sorting hat thought it would be a lovely joke? They are mudbloods and mudblood lovers for goodness sake, how bright can they be? Look at the behaviour of this Ravenclaw for example; they are supposed to be the smartest house and yet he is making a lethal mistake this very moment.” Millicent explained to him in a patronising tone. ((ok sorry everyone but this is driving me mad -- Millicent is too dignified to spit - on or at anybody -- She is only 5'7 so Perseus is actually the tallest here -- And why do you keep assuming she wants to kill you? If you hadn't noticed she hasn't spoken a word to you - she would have even forgotten about you and not mentioned you at all had you not intervened – as well, when she said you were making a lethal mistake it does not mean she intends to punish you right then & there sorry everyone I just had this same problem before and would like to stop it before it comes to the same frustrating result ))

"No. Tristan replied to the newcomer. I do not think she has any feeling for me. I've heard stories about desiray. I've heard of the things she's done. I tried to be friendly towards her and she turned this into something else. Desiray can play her games. I had decided I would not fall for her and I haven't"
Tristan turned towards Millicent, "A lethal mistake? I think not. I do not plan to now nor any time soon. You would be foolish to make an attempt on my life, Millicent. I kow you are not that foolish. I know you are intelligent enough to realise that with a 6th year education, however much knowledge you may have, it would be foolish to try to kill me and get away with it. You would be on the run until tje ministry caught up with you and you are not skilled enough to take on any Aurors. I don't think you are stupid enough to try anything like that. I have not made any lethal mistakes."
Tristan took a step closer to Cass. together they were twice as strong. Tristan laughed inwardly. He could not believe this day had started with tea and crumpets and turned into this. Well Tristan was not going to back down. Not now. It was to late for that.

Desiray had barely heard Cassandra's remark while she sat in her chair. But she did hear someone's footsteps behind her and then suddenly a jolt of pain as her head was wrenched back by stong hands. Then someone spit in her face and Desiray was already ready to fight this girl, Millicent she figured when she spoke, but then Tristan tried to defend her. She growled in anger and pushed him away, smacking his hand from her robes.
"Millicent you overgrown idiot, let go of my hair!" Desiray screamed as she struggled to get out of Millicent's grasp. Then Perseus's voice was sneering at her. She screamed in extreme anger.
"Shut it Fenyman!" she said angrily, trying to get Millicent to let go of her hair and wipe the spit from her face at the same time. The Aden's voice came o0ut of no where and Desiray felt more and more confused by every second. Finally her hair was let go of and Desiray stood up straight wipign her face and trying not to scream at Millicent. She then turned to Tristan who tried to act all important. She rolled her eyes and stomped her foot.
"EVERYONE JUST SHUT UP!" she took a deep breath and stared at each person in turn, "I'm sorry if I like to flirt with EVERYBODY, but its none of your buisness Millicent, and all of you should just stay out of it. Yes, Tristan I do not like you and I'm sorry for starting my 'game'," she put her hands up and made qoutation marks, "I will never flirt with you ever again. Whatever! I don't give a rats behind! And Perseus... who asked you?" She turned back to Millicent, "I agree that I should not have started flirting with Tristan, but I hadn't flirted in a while, and i felt I needed some 'practice'," After her rant she just stared at everyone in disbelief, she couldn't even believe how everyone, including herself were acting. She sighed.
"So I wont cause any more trouble..." She said and she walking out of the tea shop, shaking her head as the rain pelted her.

Tristan felt a great pity for Desiray. Being pushed around by the other slytherin's must be tough. No wander she acted the way she did. Tristan watched her leave the shop and make her way down the soaking wet street, the thunder reflecting her mood. Tristan looked at the other slytherins around the Tea shop. He hoped they were remorseful. Acting the way they did to their fellow housemate. Tristan didn't like Desiray as much as the next person, but he believed nobody deserved to be treated that way. Nobody. He gazed around the room, distgust displayed on his face. He took a seat at the table and gabbed another crumpet. He had had enough petty fighting for one day, but her kept his wand in his right hand none the less. He wasn't going to leave himself at the mercy of these heartless slytherin's without a weapon, "Accio water pitcher!" Tristan said and he poured himself a large glass of icy water. He needed to cool off.

Dana was in Hogsmeade with a couple of friends enjoying the wizarding village. The day was sunny and nice – at least it started as if it was sunny and nice. When lightning crashed Dana just grinned up towards the sky, while her friends mostly jumped. Dana loved the thunder but she didn’t really care about getting wet so as her friends turned towards the Zonko’s Dana waved bye to them. Jumping over a puddle that was already forming on the street Dana jogged towards madam Pudfoot’s. Sure, they didn’t have very good coffee there, but the rum-cake was awesome and she would be out of the rain.
Reaching the small coffee store Dana grinned and thanked some guy, who had held the door open for her. Brushing her wet clothes Dana smiled at the guy once again before her eyes settled on a rather troubling sight. Four older Slytherins gathered around Cass and Tristan. Leaving her pants and red sweater alone Dana eyed the situation warily. That girl – Bulstrode – seemed to be quarreling with the bit younger Slytherin. Dana eyed the situation warily – it seemed rather dangerous, but she couldn’t really leave her friends in the middle of it. Slowly walking closer none of the people in the conversation seemed to notice Dana got a chance to listen a bit and try to figure out what all of it was about. It seemed that the blond girl – didn’t she take some of the classes Dana did? – had tried to seduce Tristan. It was rather pathetic and didn’t Tristan think at all while he encouraged it? And his words now were as foolish. Desiray stomped out after screeching as if it was the end of the world before stomping out of the coffee shop. Dana didn’t mind a little flirt from time to time, but flirting with a younger year? That Dana’s stomach didn’t like.
“Noone is going to kill anyone,” Dana interrupted the conversation sharply stepping through the Slytherins and eyeing Tristan warily. Didn’t the boy think at all before speaking? “There are worse things than dying in this world and the so-called Slytherin queens can make your life a living hell,” Dana hissed to Tristan angrily giving a brief glance, smile and nod towards Cass, hoping the girl would understand that it wasn’t time to a friendlier warning right now, before greeting everybody: “Cass. Millicent. Perseus.” Dana’s eyes touched the fifth year boy and it took Dana a moment to recall his name, before she greeted him just as dryly: “Aden.”
Dana eyes Tristan calmly: “Desiray’s behavior was as it was. But you didn’t really show the famous Ravenclaw ability to think coolly and logically either. So but down your wand will you – you are the only one with your wand out.” The last statement was added with a pointed stare – sure, most probably each of the persons here could get their wands in a second, but they were still out of sight so far. “But for the sake of the houses, sit down all of you. You are starting to gather some stares.” Dana arched an eye-brow towards Millicent mostly – certainly, the honors of both Ravenclaw and Slytherin had received a blow thanks to this unexpected circumstance. A Ravenclaw letting himself be played by an older Slytherin and a Slytherin bothering to try and play a younger Ravenclaw. The situation wasn’t good no matter from what angle it was looked upon. But if they themselves didn’t bring unwanted attention to the problem now, then it might stay a secret. And even if it didn’t – Tristan could be excused by being younger. Slytherin came off worse in any case. Dana just hoped the Slytherins got the subtle hint as well. And either moved themselves or sat down.

Cass watched the banter between the Slytherins. Not really knowing all of the people who had appeared, she just thought it was better to keep her mouth closed. This was extremely hard for her. She so wanted to lay into Desiray, but decided that this was not the appropriate time. Her own housemate's were doing it for her!
Making sure to keep her hand on her wand, she nearly breathed a sigh of relief when Dana appeared. Saved! she thought to herself. She knew that if something really did go down, Tristan and her could not handle this many older Slytherins. They would most likely flatten them. Besides, Cass really didn't need to lose house point and be taken in front of the Magical Law Enforcement Board.
After Tristan mentioned something about killing one another, Cass rolled her eyes. What a Drama King! did he actually think this was going to turn into something other than a stupid school yard scuffle! Sighing, she sat back in the booth. She put her head in her hands and shook it.
She watched as Tristan put his guard down and pour himself some water. " You know Tristan. Gryffs are supposed to be the hotheads. Ravenclaws are supposed to be the level headed ones."

((the only reason Tristan mentioned death is because Millicent had suggested it earlier, Cass. "...fatal mistake..." fatal means deadly. Tristan didn't bring up the subject of death and therefore was not being a drama king.
And as for being played by the other slytherin her was not. I'f you'll notice Tristan made a desiscion NOT to be played and NOT to let her lead him on.))
Tristan breathed a sigh of relief as Dana approached the table. Finally someone with more chance of standing a chance against the slytherins was here. Tristan place his wand back in his robes and smiled at Dana. He was very greatful to her for helping him out.
When he heard what Cass said Tristan was not happy. He had tried to prevent a major fight by using keeping calm and talking the situation over and thhis was what Cass thought of him? He gave her a look before leaving the table and finding himself an armchair by the fire, ice water in hand.
Gazing into the flames Tristan couldn't believe what people thought of him. That he actually thought desiray liked him. That they thought he was foolish for trying to stand up for his friends. That he was being dramatic for trying to stop somthing dire happening hear in the tea house. He shook his head and thought about the events of the day while staring into the glowing embers.

(( Yeah, Tristan. I know what fatal means. I also know what several other larger words mean. Besides, I doubt that Millicent would do anything right there in public. Don't be so touchy man. This is supposed to be fun. Don't take it so personally.))
She looked over at Tristan after her last remark. He got really quiet all of the sudden. " You okay, man. Brush it off. If the Slytherins notice that your upset, you will never live it down." She looked nervously up at all the older students that had gathered around. I so don't need this right now, Cass thought to herself.
Hoping to disapper in the booth, she pulled her knees up to her chest and tried to hide.

((Sorry, Cass. I have been a bit touchy lately. and there is a certain person on this site who got under my skin a little.))
Tristan saw Cass pull her knees up in her chest. She was obviously as uncomfortable here as he was. He remained in his chair though. It was Cass' choice if she wanted to move away frmo the group and he wasn't going to tell her what to do. This tea shop was becoming more and more uncomfortable as time went on and Tristan was extreemly relieved that Dana was here.

Millicent worried for the Slytherin girl who was yelling and screaming at Millicent to release her hair despite the fact that she really had. Perhaps she was having an episode of some sort? Millicent eyed her warily as she stormed out of the teahouse but thought no more of the girl; she couldn’t do anymore damage to the Slytherin name than she already had. As if this strange behaviour wasn’t enough but the boy whom she had been shamelessly throwing herself at, and calling it flirting, was speaking once more; apparently he assumed Millie would attack right then and there. She allowed a malicious chuckle to escape her lips as he gave his foolish opinion words, how could he be so silly? She didn’t have to say anything though because a Ravenclaw who she knew to be named Dana had approached and explained his folly.
She gave the girl a nod in greeting; Millicent wasn’t foolish enough to make enemies when it wasn’t necessary. Dana had been brought to Millicent’s attention because she had a cousin in Slytherin; but after that she had proven herself worth keeping an eye on. The younger children had a little conversation of their own resulting in the boy leaving as Dana offered they all sit and be civil in order to prevent further notice. All eyes in the shop were likely on the group now though, evidence enough of that was found in the number of students who had joined, but civility was the best option there no doubt.
Rather than trap herself in the booth though Millicent pulled up a chair from nearby and sat at the head of he table. “So… this has been quite the nightmare has it not?” Millicent said directing her words at nobody in particular.

Dana mentally rolled her eyes as Cass and Tristan seemed to relax as she approached. Did they expect her to be handle three Slytherins – a fifth year and two sixth years – alone if things got out of hand? At least Millicent seemed to take things civilly and Dana relaxed. A quick measuring in her head had made Millicent most dangerous of the bunch. Raising her hand Dana snapped her fingers and a moment later a waitress hurried over. “Rum-cakes for everyone. Tea and cappuccino,” Dana ordered easily and the waitress left only to hurry back with cups for everyone as well as rum-cakes as well as empty cups for everyone to decide themselves whether they wanted tea or espresso.
Dropping two galleons on the waitress’s tray to cover the bill and a rather good tip – she could afford it luckily – Dana sat down with her back to the wall. She understood why Millicent chose the position she took – she was free to move. But it let just about anyone approach her from behind. Raising an eye-brow slightly Dana reached over and after pouring herself espresso and took a sip. “They really need to learn how to make proper espresso,” Dana sighed after picking up a fork and one of the rum-cakes, “With the weather can’t really find some place where the coffee is better either. Rum-cake is good though.”
Dana leaned back and threw one leg over the other. She could probably keep the situation from turning volatile though and she doubted it would take a turn towards worse anymore.
“Nightmare? I wouldn’t really go that far. Just an unpleasant or a mildly disturbing dream rather,” Dana answered to Millicent in a rather conversation tone – Slytherins were fun to talk to. They always knew when to snap back and they were extremely good at it. At least Dana enjoyed conversations with them – there was nothing like a good verbal spar from time to time.

Mildly disturbing? Cass thought to herself as she took the cappuchino that was delivered to the table. Mildly disturbing was an understatement. Not only had she almost got into a fight with a group of Slytherins, but now she was having coffee with a Queen. Oh great, couldn't this day get any worst?
" I haven't had rum cake before?" Cass said this rather off handedly, like she was wondering. Taking a bite out of the cake, her enlarged in surprise. " Wow, it really is good. You know, just the new stuff I've tried since I've gotten to Hogwarts."
Cass looked over at Tristan trying to get him involved in ther conversation. " Are you a coffee drinker? I love it, but I really haven't had any good coffee since I came to Hogwarts. However, a couple of of house elves can make a mean cup of joe."

"Well I don't mind coffee but here it hasn't tasted as good as it did in Rome." Tristan couldn't believe he was sitting here with a queen of Slytherin and a group of others discussing coffee. He moved seats to sit by Cass as he answered her question. He gazed out the window and watched the storm rage on outside. At least he wasn't out there he thought. Before he looked once more around the large table and realised that out there might not be so bad. He sipped his coffee. It still needed more sugar. Tristan withdrew his wand from his robes and summoned the Sugar bowl from the next table over, waiting to see what would happen next.

Post by Lavender Brown on May 4, 2005 8:53:58 GMT
Lavender sprinted through the streets of hogsmede. Lightning flashed in frotn of her and was followed by a loud rumble of thunder, "AAAAGH!" Lavender cried. She was terrified of thunder and lightning, but she had to get to Madam Puddifoots tea shop. She had missed breakfast and she needed to fill her growling stomach. The rain pelted her and her cloak was wet through. Slowly water was leaking through the black fibres to her clothes and her pink leather jacket and pink and white skirt were getting damp rapidly.
A few steps later and Lavender was inside the warm tea shop. She took off her cloak and placed it over on a rack in front of the fire to dry before making her way over to a congregation of students, "Hi there..." She said slowly, "Mind if I join you?" Just after she said it Lavender glanced from face to face and she noticed Millicent Bulstrode. The girl towerd over many of the people in the group. Lavender wished she hadn't spoken. She was sure she was as capeable witch as Millicent was, but she certainly lacked the strength to fight this human behemoth in a physical scuffle.
She slowly smiled rather timidly and took a seat at the large table next to a fellow gryffindor. The girl looked about thirteen or forteen. She had her knees up by her chest and looked a little frightened. Lavender noticed a few familiar faces from students in the senior years. She smiled warmly at Dana, a Ravenclaw she recognised from somewhere.

"Not at all." Tristan said to the newcomer. She was much older than he was. A Gryffindor. Tristan was only too happy to have her join the group. He had seen her around the caste and she seemed friendly. Plus it was good to have another older student who was not a slytherin here. Tritsan didn't care of the others didn't want Lavender here in the least. He was here first and they joined him. Quite frankly they had no right to turn anyone away so Tristan ordered fresh pot of tea and took one of the crumpets from the plate in the middle of the room. They weren't hot anymore, but they tasted delicious. He moved the plate towards himself and Cass. It was she he had been sharing them with to start and he thought she might like another. "Crumpet?" Tristan offered the plate to Cass, Lavender (who had just seated herself next to Cass) and Dana. "I have plenty:)."
Tristan was still ignoring Millicent. He didn't see how a few harsh words and some intruding slytherins had been a nightmare. Millicent was not a person Tristan was keen to get to know at present. Or even ever for that matter. Tristan Poured himself some more tea. He was done with the coffee. Besides he liked Tea better. He had been raised on it. he'd had his first cup at the age of four and had never looked back. Focussing his attention on the slytherins who had congregated around Cass and him earlier he spoke, "Can I help you with something?" Tristan said neutrally. He didn't want to be rude to them, but he wandered what they were still doing here. There wasn't really any reason Tristan could see that would force them to be here anymore. At all for that matter, but he didn't want to make enemies of them so he decided the neutral tone would be appropriate...

Cass took the crumpet from the plate when Tristan offered it. Lavender soon joined them at the table, even though she wouldn't admit it, she was glad to have another Gryffindor join the group. Pouring more tea, she began to settle back in and calm down. After a few moments, she was going to be brave a do something she had never done before, talk to a Queen in a cordial manner.
"Mill-" however she didn't get the chance to finish her statement before Tristan asked the Slytherins to leave.
She looked at him with her eyes wide. " Um, Tristan, there is no need. They are more than welcome to join us. Now, Millicent, how are you today?" She forced a smile, attempting to be cordial.

Perseus glanced at the two knew arrivals. First came Dana, a pretty Ravenclaw 5th year whom he had dueled several days before. Apparently, Perseus had not noticed the quiescent atmosphere of the tea shop when there had been dissension between the two parties. His countenance remained just as apathetic as before. Perseus had learned to mask his emotions over the past few months and had become someone his close ancestor, Salazar Slytherin, would have been proud of. Next came a Gryffindor 6th year, whom Perseus knew as Lavender Brown, with an appearance just as impressive as Dana's. However, Perseus did not like the sudden intrusion, which tested a rather erratic temperament he possessed. He had planned to siphon all of his contained anger into the rather impudent 3rd year Ravenclaw. Perseus was greatly surprised by his belligerent attitude, comparing the boy to his extremely calm and wise Ravenclaw study-mate Jaquin. He did not see the 6th year Ravenclaw much, anymore due to his ralatives' urges to stay away from non-purebloods. However, all Perseus cared about was power, as there was no good or evil, only power and those too weak to seek it.
When the impudent, young Ravenclaw pugnaciously implied that he wanted to kick the Slytherins out of the shop, Perseus's temper began to mount. If the little git would stop insulting them, perhaps they would be able to get along. Afterall, Slytherins and Ravenclaws shared one common trait; their intelligence and ambition. Perseus took a seat, glared at Tristian, knowing that the boy would have been better off in Gryffindor. He sneered and looked back towards the 3rd year Gryffindor endeavoring to talk to Millicent. "Well this will be interesting," thought Perseus.

Dana shook her head as Tristan offered her a crumpet. She had her coffee and right now she was satisfied with that. Nodding curtly to some other girl who joined them Dana wondered who she might be. A Gryffindor probably? Dana smiled back a bit hesitantly to her very friendly smile, not really sure if she was supposed to know the girl who had joined htem. She seemed around Dana’s age – maybe a year older tops.
“Tristan,” Dana glanced towards the third year Ravneclaw. Sure, there was no need to be overly welcoming, but why create trouble when you could just let the situation ass, without getting yourself some enemies. Besides it was unpolite – and politness had been fed into Dana from the day she was born practically. ‘Be polite but don’t grovel’ were the words. Most pure-bloods were taught polite behavior, even though it was a personal problem to what extent you used good manners. And Dana was a pure-blood as recently had turned out – so far Dana had always believed she was a half-blood. It really wasn’t the thought that she was better than other that made Dana smile – it was rather the thought that her family-line would carry on just as strongly as ever before. Hiding her smile behind her cup Dana smiled warmly at Cass as she at least tried to get along with the Slytherins.
Hoping Millicent would ignore Tristan’s rather cold comment or at least brush it off, Dana eyed the two Slytherin boys who were both relatively tall. At least Perseus was already sitting, but Aden was still standing. “I doubt we’d need any body-guards right now, so you can actually sit down and have something to drink as well,” Dana told him with a smirk twitching at the corner of her mouth – the comment had been polite, easy, to the point, not to friendly and not hostile either. Taking one more bite of her rum-cake Dana raised an eye-brow towards the Slytherins. It was in their hands to decide how this would end. And once again Dana’s eyes slipped to Millicent – she did seem most dangerous of the three of them. Waiting for the sixth year Slytherin girl to react in someway, Dana enjoyed her drink and cake finding the situation rather amusing as a twinkle started to reappear in her eyes.

When the waitress came with the tea and coffee for everyone else Millicent ordered herself some jasmine tea, her favourite. She listened to everyone from the other houses chatter for awhile before some girl arrived from her year who she vaguely thought was a Gryffindor though she didn’t care enough to be sure. Millicent looked at the girl as if she was a speck of filth on the floor, which she was. How could this mudblood or mudblood lover at least think she is welcome with so many true Slytherins around? Millicent didn’t bother saying anything though because it was too funny to watch the little Raven nearly wet himself he was so excited to have the girl there. As if she would be any match to Millicent should a duel break out. These children obviously didn’t understand how she was brought up; if their families were pure they were obviously not important. They didn’t understand that Millicent’s father got her a wand, illegally, when she was young and schooled her in the dark arts before this Gryffindor had ever learnt a levitation charm. Despite her diminutive size of 5’7”, which made her shorter than many in her year, Millicent actually was quite strong, especially with all the muscle she possessed. This meant that Millicent should have the advantage not only with the wand but should a muggle brawl erupt as well.
The other Gryffindor spoke to her though and Millicent decided to be pleasant with the kid; it wasn’t her fault she had been trapped there and she was showing the Slytherins the proper manners. If that Raven didn’t learn to watch his tongue he may have a problem after him… but the young Gryffindor was in the clear… for now. She drank her tea, which had arrived and looked the young girl up and down in a scrutinizing manner before replying. “I am very well today thank you. My day has gone rather pleasantly beyond having to stop that… girl? who I regret to call a housemate humiliate herself and myself in turn.” She said in a dry apathetic voice except while questioning whether or not Desiray should be called a girl rather than something more fitting to her behaviour.
