Jack's stomach plummeted as he read a letter that had came to him from London. His loyal owl, Klaus, stood next to him quietly. Once finished reading the letter, Jack took out his pen and wrote.
Padme, I cannot yet believe that you are my sister. I will have to meet you in person to decide if what you say is the truth. Diagon Alley is a good place to meet and get your school supplies. Be there today at two in the afternoon.
Jack
He gave the note to Klaus, who took off. He watched until he was out of sight and then walked over to a couch in the Slytherin common room. Three hours and he would meet his sister. She might not be my sister though. It could be a lie. He knew that most people wouldn't lie about such a thing, but Jack found this highly impossible. A sister? That can't be right! It just can't be. He sighed and lay down, his head pounding.
Three hours later, Jack left Hogwarts and into Diagon Alley. He had taken the train for the ride there. It was ten till two and Diagon Alley was full with students and youngsters getting supplies. It was a Saturday, so Jack wasn't missing any school. He looked around; he wasn't even sure who he was looking for. He wanted to talk to someone familiar, but he didn't see anyone around to dig him out of the hole he had just fell in. He walked along until he came to the Leaky Cauldron. He decided to sit outside in one of the chairs sitting in the sun. Hopefully the girl he was looking for would find him. He stared at every passerby, looking for a brown or blonde haired girl. He was looking when someone came up to him from behind.

Riiing! Riing! Riing! Mack's hand shot up from under the warmth of her blanket, reached the alarm clock, curled its fingers around it, and threw it against the wall. Riiing riiing riing! It didn't do anything. "Damn thing!" Mack muttered as she swept her blankets off her and sat up in her bed, the clock opened; as if it had a mouth and stuck out a tongue. Mack's eyebrows furrowed and she swung her legs over the side of the bed. This'll teach me to go to bed at 2 every night.. She thought groggily. The clock continued to ring until Mack stood up and walked to the bathroom. She took a quick shower and pulled on a pair of jeans and blue shirt that would be suitable for a game of football.
"Where do you think you are going dressed like that?" A portrait asked as she walked down to the common room. Mack stared at this picture and shook her head, "Nunya." She told it before skipping the rest of the way. She was actually taking a trip to Diagon Alley, planning on getting some supplies or just browsing for things. Hogsmeade would have been much more suitable; but she didn't feel like going there- it would be too crowded. She pushed open the portrait and walked up the three flights of stairs, left through the entrance hall and hopped onto an empty carriage. "Where to Miss?" A voice asked out of nowhere, Mack looked for the person it was coming from- but didn't find any. "Uh- Diagon Alley, please." She answered with a look of utter confusion on her face.
Around 20 minutes later, the carriage pulled up in front of Diagon Alley- the back entrance. This way she wouldn't have to go through the leaky cauldron. Though she most likely was going to go and eat there for lunch anyway. Or breakfast... She thought to herself. She made her way around, stopping at Mullpepper's; and Quality Quidditch Supplies. She even went as far as Madame Malkins, but figured she would do that later. Mack was too hungry to stand on a stool for hours on end. She walked up towards the Leaky Cauldron and stopped in her tracks when she saw her friend, Jack Rendel. Mack tilted her head- took a detour and ended up walking towards the back of his head. She put her hands out and tiptoed towards him.
"RAH!" Mack screamed in between her fits of laughter, she took a seat next to him and smiled- her eyes still laughing; "Hello Stranger." She told him with a triumphant smile.

Padme started when a pecking noise came from her window. She looked up from her book on Potions that was boring her and saw a gray owl with blue eyes. She smiled and opened the window. The owl hopped inside and settled on her bed with a note tied to it's ankle. Padme took the note off of the owl and scanned it quickly. Her brother said that he would meet her in Diagon Alley...today! Padme jumped out of bed and ran into the kitchen, skidding to a halt in front of Cameron. She turned quickly and sat down at the table. She could hear Cameron walk off muttering under his breath. Padme grabbed the closest cereal box and bowl; she started pouring cereal and milk into it. She ate her lunch quickly and then stood up and walked into the family room.
"Cameron, I'm going to be gone for the day," Padme snapped while bustling around to get her bag and the letter from Hogwarts. She found it under the couch, torn and crumpled. She sighed and flattened it against the wall while listening to Cameron's fruitless complaints. Blah, blah, blah! Get on with what you want! She thought furiously as she watched Cameron's lips move to form various words. "Yeah, yeah," Padme said with a wave of her hand. "I'm not leaving just yet. I'm still in my bed clothes, you know. Once I change, though, I'm out of this place." She stomped into her bedroom and took a quick cold shower that woke her up. She put on a orange shirt and jeans on without really looking at how she was putting them on. She then stood in front of the mirror for ten minutes while she put her hair in a sloppy bun.
"Do it better, dear," the mirror said reproachfully but Padme just glared at it. "It is good and I already took some of my precious time away by making it perfect!" She snapped and left the room. Cameron was no where in sight. She hastily wrote a note and left it on the counter for Tessa to see. Padme then left the house with her pockets rattling with gold. She didn't have very far to walk, considering she lived in the heart of London itself. She smiled and saw the Leaky Cauldron come into view. She entered the shop only to find it filled with odd people. She glared at a few just for her enjoyment and went out to the brick wall in the back. She had used this once before, but since Padme had a wonderful memory she knew it by heart. She tapped some bricks and watched as they moved aside.
Diagon Alley was as busy as she remembered it. Witches were bustling to shops that had robes and some wizards were going into a shop that held Potions. Padme then realized that she didn't know where to look for this brother of hers. She didn't even know what he looked like. She rolled her eyes to herself and took a quick look at her surroundings. A boy and a girl were sitting near where she was standing. She stared at the boy critically, she could care less about the girl, and decided that he was about the right age. He looked exactly like Tessa too. Padme didn't look much like Tessa, except for the brown hair. Tessa was tall with blue eyes and thick curly brown hair. Although the boy's hair wasn't curly, he still looked like a walking image of his mother. Padme stalked over to them in a huffy manner.
"Excuse the interruption. Are you Jack Rendel?" Padme said coldly, her brown eyes hard and her mouth set in a grim expression. She hated first meetings; they seemed boring and pointless, but they had to happen. She gave him a glare and then the girl, tapping her foot impatiently, waiting for an answer.

Jack jumped when someone yelled out. "Mack!" he said loudly clutching his chest as though he just had the scare of his life. "You almost gave me a heart attack!" he joked. He grinned as she said hello stranger. "Oh, thanks. I'm a stranger now, am I?" Just then a stranger did walk up to them. She had brown hair that was in a messy bun, she was rather short, and had cold brown eyes. She didn't look too happy about talking to Jack. She asked if it he was Jack Rendel. This must be her! Jack's head rang and he stood there and goggled at her. I must be dreaming! I have to be! He pinched his arm hard but he didn't wake up in bed. The young girl was tapping her foot impatiently, waiting for an answer.
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm Jack Rendel. You must be...Padme?" He said, his voice almost a whisper. It was like he was afraid for her to answer, afraid that this was his sister. But isn't this the thing that you always wanted? A sibling? It was, but right now, Jack wasn't too sure if he would like a sister like this. He didn't go on any farther. If Mack wanted explaining, she would have to talk to this girl...if she was his sister.

Her eyes continued to sparkle as he asked if he were a stranger, "Nah. I don't make friends with strangers." She told him as she lifted her hand- signaling for a waitor. Mack let her hand fall back down as a little girl walked up to them. This girl had a sharp tongue and a short temper, and Mack immediately didn't like her. Mack's eyes flickered to the small tapping foot and she spoke with a harsh tone of voice, "Since he is Jack Rendel, why in hell do you care? By the look of your attitude we aren't worthy of your presence." Her sarcasm was very apparent and Mack raised an eyebrow with a tilt of her head. Her blonde hair falling over her shoulder with attitude.
Her surprise was totally shown when Jack apparently knew this girl's name. They didn't know each other, this was apparent; for they both wouldn't have asked if they were each other, but they knew who each other were. Mack's cold blue eyes looked at Jack with a slightly confused expression on her face. She stuck her thumb at the girl and asked with a raised eyebrow; "Do you know this insufferable prat?"

Padme continued to glare at the boy who was goggling at her. "I'm not for show, you see. Now, use your mouth and saw something." She spat, her foot still tapping. He finally answered her question and Padme smiled in satisfaction. "Yes, of course I'm Padme you half-wit." She said sharply when the girl spoke. She seemed about Jack's age. "I have a great reason to care, since he is my brother. Also, I'd watch your tongue. Believe me, I wouldn't have come if I would have known I'd meet someone like you." Padme said with a smirk. The girl then asked Jack if he knew an insufferable prat. It took a few moments for Padme to realzie that she was talking about her. She raised her eyebrows as he as they could go. "Insufferable prat? Me?" Padme asked in fake shock. "Never! We don't know each other, that's why I'm here to meet him." She directed her eyes unto Jack, her brother, who wasn't talking. He seemed surprised for some reason. What did he expect? A good little girl? "Jack, in your letter you never told me you would bring your girlfriend. I never knew anyone could fall for someone like her." She glared at the girl, sneering all the while. It was actually quite fun, since Padme didn't have lots of people to pick on at home. These two better not think they have an advantage just because I'm younger and smaller. There, they would be wrong.((Hope you don't mind Padme being a little mean. I couldn't control her! ))

Mack's eyes glassed over and she rounded on this little mutt, "Meet someone like me? I suggest you take a long hard look in the mirror, pet, I used to be like you. Then I realised the world doesn't need another mutt on their hands compared with my sister." She spoke in a tone that wasn't her own, but she wasn't going to take one word back. Mack wasn't even shocked when Padme said Jack was her brother, in fact- Mack could care less who this girl was. Mack was willing to cool down and stay out of this, let htem sort it out. That was until Padme called Mack, Jack's girlfriend and wondered how anyone could fall for her.
In an instant, Mack's wand was out and at the girls throat, "I'd watch what you say, little girl, I have more connections than you could possibly want in a million years." Mack lowered her wand and sat down, twirling the wooden stick in between her fingers. Her head tilted and her eyes piercing Padme's, "Besides- I'm not his girlfriend. I'm just a close friend that happens to be a girl. And," Mack spread out her arms, "Take a good look girlie, because if you are his sister- as you have so nicely made noticable, you'll be seeing a lot more of me. So deal with it." She snarled and crossed her arms over her chest; casting a glance at Jack who seemed to be in shock.

Padme smirked at the girl. Her brother was still in shock. How could I be related to someone so...stupid? Padme twirled a strand of hair that had fallen out of the bun and into her eyes. She looked remotely bored until the girl said she use to be exactly like her. Padme's eyes widened and she smiled. "Me, be like you? There's a real insult. I never thought I would hear you give an insult that really bothered me. But now, I realize that you are capable of such a thing. Saying you are just like me almost made me vomit all over you in disgust." She smirked maliciously. "But then I thought you might just run away. I wouldn't like that, since I'm having fun." She heard the girl call her something like a mutt. Padme knew what a mutt was; Cameron had called her that for a while.
"You were a mutt? Seems like you still are. Of course, I wouldn't have known you were a pureblood from the way you dress." Padme glared at the girl and then took a quick glance down at her own clothes. She had just insulted this girls about her clothes, when she was wearing just the same or worse. Padme hated when people judged her by appearance, since she was so small, and that was just what she had done to this girl. She was just about to say something not nearly as harsh, but still aggressive when Padme had a wand at her throat. She swallowed her fear and looked unblinkingly at the girl until she lowered her wand.
"What's the matter? Afraid to hurt a little girl?" Padme hissed. "Yes, I am his sister, much to my disgust." She glared at Jack, still not saying anything. "I can deal with you easily. I think the problem here is you might not be able to deal with me. But, how am I to know? Maybe you're made of better stuff than what you're showing to me at the moment." She suppressed a laugh. She then asked in a calm voice that suggested the fight was over.
"So, what about that shopping? Chatting about something useless bores me."

Mack's eyes glittered, "Who said I was a pureblood?" She asked with that smile that would twist anybody's world. Mack cast Jack another glance that said she had something to tell him but she would later, and looked back at the girl who was now stating Mack was afraid of her. Mack raised her eyebrow and shook her head; "No. You just aren't worth my time." She said with a yawn, indicating she was bored with this. She ran her fingers through her blonde hair and felt it fall loosely down her shoulders. She was extremely curious about this situation, but didn't ask. She wouldn't ask Jack until they were alone.
Mack looked up at Padme but spoke to Jack; "I'll leave you two to shopping then. After all, I'm sure Her Highness over here wouldn't want the company of a half-blood now would she?" Mack pushed her chair back with a scraping noise and stood, grabbed her purse and her bag and turned to leave but stopped; "Actually, I don't care what she wants, I'm staying. I have things to tell you, Jack, though I am not sure you are completely here at the moment." Mack waved her hand in front of Jack's face then giggled lightly, before turning to Padme again; "There's one thing you guys have in common," She said with a laughing smile, "it's empty up there." Mack tapped the top of Jack's head and waited.

Padme smiled but let the girl drown on and on. Now, Padme was really starting to get bored. She looked like she was half asleep until the girl said something about not being a pureblood. "What?!" Padme asked, dropping her attitude completely. "But, didn't you just say that you were a mutt?" Her eyes had softened to let one emotion out: surprise. She frowned at the girl but shook her head. "I sure do wish I was a royal Highness." she said with a small laugh. "Then I could get what I want instead of the opposite." She shut her mouth and then changed the subject quickly. "So, uh...how about I leave you two to it, then? I'll go to Ollivander's and get my wand while you two...chat." She giggled a bit and walked away to Ollivander's to get what she had wanted ever since she was little. A wand.

Jack was lapsed into silence. He was trying to remember all his memories and try to make sense out of how she was his sister. After thinking for a long time, Jack didn't come to any conclusions. He could hear Padme and Mack talking distantly. He wasn't really in the world the other two were at the moment. It took a while to come out of the trance he was in. He jerked out of it when Mack tapped him on the head. He gave her a startled look and then shaded his eyes from the suddenly bright sun. Padme was moving away from some reason; Jack noticed she was heading toward Ollivander's wand shop.
"You have a lot of explaining to do!" Jack shouted at Padme's retreating back. He wasn't sure if she heard him or not; he didn't care. He then looked at Mack with curiosity. "So, did you say you wanted to tell me about something? Sorry, kind of lost here..."

Mack took a seat as her royal highness went to ollivanders, she looked at Jack. Her arms folded and her chin resting on her wrists. She raised an eyebrow before sitting up and lounging in the chair, "Don't you think you have something much more important to tell me?" She asked with raised eyebrows and a curious smile on her lips.
"Tell me who the hell that was and I'll tell you who the hell I am..." Mack waited for his answer with patience.

"I-I don't know who the hell that was!" Jack said angrily, but just because he wasn't sure what was going on. "She says I'm her sister, and she doesn't look a thing like me. She says that her mother is Tessa, but there's no proof of that. I don't know what the hell to think about her at the moment. I'm not sure what to think at all. I'm confused Mack. I feel....like my whole life's a lie." He gave a defeated grunt and sat down more comfortably in his chair. "I heard you had a conversation with her. At least, I heard some of it. Nasty little thing, isn't she?" He added with a grin.
"So, could you tell me who the hell you are?"

Mack snorted and shook her head, looking off in the distance; the wind blew back her hair and she said; "Nasty is an understatement." She sighed and closed her eyes, trying to figure out how to tell him without actually having to tell the whole god damned story, without having to tell him the brutal details.
"Oh, and I'm...." She started slowly, but was interuppted by the waitress. Mack shook her head at the slow service, ordered two waters, even though she hadn't even btoehred to ask what Jack wanted. She just wanted that damn waitress out of sight and ear shot. Mack then looked at Jack with a smile and said, "My life's been a lie too..." But that was all she said, she didn't say who she was, and she didn't say how she had found out who she was. She just let him know that her life had been a lie, and that she knew what he was feeling. She just had a better way of handling it.

Jack grinned at Mack. "She's just young and doesn't understand how things work. You can't live by being mean. You have to look at things from different angles to see how things really are. I don't think she understands it yet." He smiled and then the waitress came. Mack said that she wanted two waters and then the waitress went away. Jack wasn't hungry or thirsty. He felt brain-washed, totally helpless, angry. Why didn't I know about this? Why had Roger kept it from me?! He gave Mack a look that was blank. He wasn't sure what to say at the moment.
"So, what were you going to say? You said you'd tell me who you were if I tell you who Padme was. I did so you have to tell me who you are." He looked down at his shoes and then sighed. Mack didn't seem willing to tell him all of it; wanted to leave him guessing. But Jack wanted to know, had to know, what was going on. He wanted to know that someone was going through something that was similar to what he was feeling at the moment. Mack seemed like the only person who could relate to what he was feeling.

Mack sighed and picked at her fingernail polish. She watched as the nail polish flaked away to the ground. She didn't know what to say, it was awfully hard for her to tell Jack what exactly happened at her house. What am I to say? "Oh by the way, I'm Molly Hanner. My mother, Kristie, was murdered by my father, Derreck, after she was his mistress for three years? I am in fact part Holden, but am not a pureblood?" Yeah, Mack or Molly or whoever I am, that sounds really smart. She turned to face Jack and tried to smile, but it came out as a meak grim twitch of her lips.
"Well," Mack started again, but that damn waitress came back again with water and fries. If she interupts me one more time... She thought with an aggravted sigh. The fries were welcomed however. Mack took one, dipped it in the ketchup, and took a bite with ease and satisfaction. It was then that she decided to tell him, "I'm not who I thought I was. I mean, I am. But, I'm not. I am in fact Molly Hanner, but I am not. You see; my mother, Kristie, was indeed adopted into the family- on Pam's side. She married a cousin from Pam's family. Then Pam married Derreck. Derreck and Krisite somehow; started having an affair. I was conceived, then birthed. When I was 2- Joshua Hanner died. They said it was from a disease, but they never classified which disease. When I was 3- Derreck killed Kristie, after Pam kidnapped me in the mall. This was also ruled out by disease, but I know Derreck used some sort of spell to kill her- that's why the police and crime scene investigators couldn't find anything besides torn up organs inside." She paused for a moment, took a drink of her water, and bit into a fry before holding up her finger; "There's more."
Mack then bent over and pulled her bag up onto her lap, she sifted through it and pulled out a folder. As she thumbed through it she started speaking again; "I uh went into the attic in my house, I never go in there. I hate attics; I despise them so I never go in them. But I just had to know. And I stumbled upon these..documents/pictures/whatevers," She took out about five pages of paper, with 5 photos paperclipped onto them. As she unclipped the photos she said; "The first photo you see is one of Kristie and Derreck in the park..." She handed the photo to him, "I will read the transcripts- written by Joshua to Pam." Mack took another drink of her water and flipped to the first page of transcripts.
"At 7:50 A.M. Kristie and Derreck enter Southfield Park. Derreck puts arm around Kristie's waist, Kristie giggles and kisses his cheek.
At 8:00 A.M. Krisite and Derreck enter a coffee shop. They go to sit down, they kiss.
At 9:00 A.M. Kristie and Derreck leave the coffee shop and head to a department store. More kissing..." Mack sighed as she trailed off, "You get the drift. Pam and Josh knew what was going on. I think this is why Josh was killed first, then Kristie. I don't think Derreck even knows that Pam was part of this spy thingy. I think; Derreck thinks Kristie told Josh about them and told him to take pictures of them so Kristie could sue. I mean, look at this!" Mack handed him another sheet of paper, "It's a lawsuit form! It's all one big conspiracy." She sighed and layed her head on the table and tried not to get too over dramatic, "Lies. They are all lies."

Jack waited for Mack to start, but her first word was over-ridden by the waitress. She brought fries, which Jack looked at with hunger. He took a few and dipped them in ketchup. Mack finally started saying the story, which Jack found confusing and horrible. Killing, lying, things Jack had never had in his life. Except for the sister of his that was in Ollivander's at the moment. He couldn't help but feel sorry for Mack. But at the end of the story, Jack had a few questions. He hoped that Mack wouldn't be offended if he asked a few. Since she didn't seem to keen on the subject, he didn't want to press it too much.
"So, who's Josh?" Jack said hesitantly, taking another fry and stuffing it in his mouth. He looked everywhere but Mack. "Why did they have to kill Kristie? Did Kristie really want to sue? If so, why?" He brushed a fly away from his eyes and looked down at the ground. "Sorry about all the questions. I just don't ....understand." He sighed and looked around. Things were so different now. He didn't know what else to say to her, so he sat there rather dumbly, eating fries the whole time.

She chuckled as questions began to pour from Jack's lips. She shook her head and took another drink of her water, her eyes resting on the shop across the street before deciding to answer. "Josh was Kristie's husband. I don't think Kristie wanted to sue, and if she did then it's probably for the money and support of- well- me."
She sighed and leaned back in her chair, her eyes closed and her face turned up towards the sun. As if just by looking towards the heavens she would be taken there, but Mack knew better than that. "No problem with the questions. I had much more about this myself. I have much more for you. But, you don't seem to know anymore than I do. So I won't bother to pry. But that girl, has one acid tongue." Mack told him with a sharp glare towards Ollivanders.

Everything was starting to make sense. Josh was Kristie's husband and that Kristie didn't want to sue, she just wanted to support her daughter. Jack felt as though he was very small next to the wide world. Mack said that she had some questions too. Jack smiled.
"I don't know much, but you can ask me a few and I'll try to answer them myself. As for an acid tongue, I must agree. She takes more after Roger than I do, and she doesn't even no him. Roger's my father, by the way." He added in case Mack didn't know. He probably told her what his name was once before, but he wasn't really sure. "So, go ahead and ask me a few, I'll try to answer them."

Mack shook her head as she ate another fry, "I don't want to ask any questions that you don't know the answer to. Sometimes that just makes everything worse. Because then you start to assume things and that's never good. So no questions from me, besides- I'm gonna be with you most the day; unless you don't want me to. And by the looks of it, you'll be with Padme most the day. Therefore I will hear the story anyway." She smiled at him and ifnished off her water before pushing her chair back and standing up.
"Let's go and visit her royal highness. Can you believe I used to be like her?" Mack asked with a mock look of shock on her face. She smiled and laughed as she swung her bag over her shoulder and paid for the fries and water.
