Rayne sighed she just didn't get it. What did blood have to do with anything. After all a muggle born or half blood is just as powerful as a pure blood. She didn't think it worth mentioning though. She turned her attention away from the window and started doodling in the dust again.
"I think it's sad taht it'll take that long for people to realize that." She said eyes still cast on the floor. She was searching for something other to talk about this subject was just to depressing for her. She hated that most pure bloods treated others like herself so badly. Shaking her head she looked up from the ground again. "So does anyone in this bubble besides myself actually play an instrument? I mean it's kinda funny that we all end up in this instrument room if no one plays huh."

Noticing that Rayne seemed to want to drop the subject, Kris went along with it. “Actually I ended up here first from all the people here. Vanessa and Lily were next,” Kris answered with a small smile configuring broken harp-string pieces into two couches that were wide enough to seat everyone, after gently broadening the bubble, but taking care to not mess Jordan’s handwork. Kris settled down on one of the couches, before continuing.
“And yes, I can play a little. What instrument would you pick out of the ones here though is a much more interesting question?” Kris tilted his head curiously and muttered ‘accio’ over his shoulder, catching his invisibility cloak as it flew over to him and draped it over the arm-rest of the couch he was sitting next to.

Rayne looked at all the instruments in the room after Kris asked which one she would pick. She considered that question. As she was looking at them she considered each one. The flute she'd played before and it had a pretty sound but she didn't like it as much. She loved the sound of the guitar. That was an instrument her other brother had introduced her to. Spotting her favorite instrument however she grinned and accio'd it over to her before showing Kris.
In her hands she held the most beautiful wooden clarinet she'd ever seen. It was polished so nicely that it seemed to gleam. Running her fingers over the keys she noticed that they were nicely oiled. The reed had never been played before and it was the most perfect reed she'd ever seen. "I'd choose this one." She said looking fondly at it. She didn't care if he mocked her for choosing something as stupid as a clarinet over more traditional and popular instruments. The Clarinet was her first ever instrument and something she'd been playing since the age of 7.

“A clarinet,” Kris said recognizing the instrument that Rayne was holding, “According to some legends it was the instruments that symbolized home. Men who went to battle, knowing there wouldn’t be a chance for their return listened to a lone clarinet playing the night before. According to other legends sheepherders played clarinet besides flutes and other more casual instruments. Although those sheepherders that played clarinet always saved the day in the legends at one point of another.”<br> Kris recalled the knowledge of some less known legends that he told Rayne. He also had unlimited access to the book-stores of his legal guardians and relatives, so he had read a very wide spread of books. Perhaps even more than a regular Ravenclaw was rumored or thought to have read. “Beauty in simplicity,” Kris murmured calmly, recalling how clarinet and its music had been described in one of those legends. ((OOC: we really seem to have quite some conversation going. And those legends actually do excist))

((OOC: Yeah we do and I know they exsist I just didn't know so many. I knew the one about the shepards not the one about the soldier.))
Rayne looked at Kris in shock. She'd known that there were legends behind the clarinet in fact she was the only one she knew that knew there were legends. The fact that the Slytherin boy knew really threw her. "You are a very strange person. Not to mention very hard to figure out." She said looking at him in puzzlement.
"Beauty in Simplicity indeed." Looking at the clarinet made her want to play it seemed to her to be begging to be played. She refrained from playing and instead looked back up at Kris. "Have you ever played the clarinet before? Have you ever heard it played or do you just know the stories?" She asked holding the instrument with care so as not to bend the keys or drop it.

Kris threw his head back and laughed at Rayne’s comment. Laughing softened the hard-lines of his face and made him look care-free and the sound of laughter itself was pleasant. The kind of laughter that makes you smile along with it, even if you don’t know what is so funny. Calming down a bit he still had mirth flickering in his eyes as he glanced at Jordan briefly: “This was the fifth time in 3 days, when I’ve been told I’m puzzling. Why do everybody now have the sudden urge to figure out who and exactly what I’m all about?”<br> Kris let out one more bark of laughter, before he answered to Rayne’ question: “No, I have never played clarinet. I don’t really know how to play it either. And yes, I have heard clarinet being played before a couple of times.”<br>

Rayne couldn't help but smile as Kris began laughing. His laughter was pleasant and something she enjoyed hearing. It didn't seem to fit him but it was a nice laugh none the less. Rayne didn't think he was expecting an answer when he asked why everyone was trying to figure him out all of a sudden but decided to answer him anyway.
Rayne shrugged. "I don't know about everyone else but you're very..." Rayne looked upat the ceiling searching for the word she'd use to describe him. "Intriguing. Yeah intriguing sounds about right. To me you're a very intriguing person very out of the norm and well you just surprise me is all." She said shrugging again. "But like I said I can't speak for everyone else."
Rayne sighed and set the clarinet aside. She knew if she kept holding it the harder it would be for her not to play. As much as she wanted to she figured that the rest of the people probably didn't want to listen to her play plus it would be embarrassing for her if she messed up. Resisting the urge to pick it up again Rayne began playing with her necklace to keep her hands occupied. "That's good that you've heard it played. It really is very beautiful when played properly."

“What is normal – a setting on a washing machine? What are the criteria’s for someone to decide what is not normal what is natural?” Kris asked from Rayne, even though the question was philosophical that was argued about rather widely in both wizard and muggle world.
“Yes, the sound of a clarinet is nice,” Kris said slowly watching as Rayne put the instrument down, “Why don’t you play some? You obviously know the instrument and I can almost sense your fingers itching to play it. The instruments are here to be played, even though they haven’t been in used in a good couple of years, judging by the dust in this place.”<br> Kris picked the clarinet up and tangled it in front of Rayne’s eyes: “How about it? A quick tune?”<br>

((OOC: Ye gods you two! I'll be surprised if I can get a word in edge wise here...))
Jordan was just listening, her brown eyes moving like they were watching a ping pong game. She then shook her head as she started to get dizzy and looked at Lily, who hadn't said anything either. Jordan flicked some hair out of her eyes and crossed her arms, still not interuppting their conversation just yet. She saw no need to. Though she was getting rather bored, but that was something that was common with Jordan Cortes, it was common among the Cortes family in general.
"Oi, Lily I'm getting outta here. Care to join me? I'm in the mood for...hmm, painting. And sense these two here have a wonderful conversation going, I think we shall leave them alone." Jordan finally stated before Rayne even agreed to play the clarinet. Before Lily could answer, she grabbed the younger girl's hand and her shoulderbag and left the bubble. She turned to Vanessa and Jasmine, having done some cooling off.
"Wanna come? We're going to paint...or do something of the sort." Jordan asked with a raised eyebrow. She shifted her shoulderbag, pulled her hair out of the collar of her shirt and bent down to tie her shoes. As she came up she smiled at the other two girls and waited to see, her impatience got the best of her and she grabbed Vanessa's hand, who she knew would grab Jasmine's and pulled them out of the music room.

Kris just raised an eye-brow towards Jordan’s back as she left, dragging the other girls after her. Pulling out his wand Kris burst the bubble Jordan had created as there was no need for it anymore. “That was quick,” Kris commented calmly before turning so he was facing Rayne once again and shook the clarinet once again, “But you didn’t answer. Will you play something?”<br> ((OOC: *comes back from reading the previous posts* hmm...maybe we did get a little carried away, but the conversation just came ))

((OOC: What?! I lost it I can't believe it my compute kicked me off and I lost the post*curls into ball and cries))
Rayne looked as Jordan left. She felt saddened slightly that her friend was leaving. She felt inclined to leave as well but since she wasn't invited she decided to stay.
"Give me that." She said grabbing the Clarinet away from him but skillfully so that she didn't damage the instrument in any way.
She took the reed off the mouth piece and put it in her mouth. She knew that the reed needed moisture. If you played the clarinet with the reed still dry you not only could damage the reed and kill it's life span but you could also damage the instrument. After she was satisfied that it was moist enough she put it back on the instrument. Putting the Clarinet to her lips she played an open holed G. To an untrained ear it would've sounded near perfect. However Rayne had been playing for a long time and she began fiddling with the barrel until she was satisfied it was tuned.
Closing her eyes Rayne began to play a slow almost mournful tune that she'd learned in her muggle school. The name of the piece was A Cajun Folksong. It was one she'd memorized when she was 9 years old as it was her favorite. The piece was actually meant to be played with an entire band but she preferred playing the clarinet part on it's own as it did so well standing on it's own. Rayne loved how each note was slow and beautiful almost seeming to tell a story through the music. After she finished Rayne opened her eyes not caring what he'd thought of her playing.

((OOC: Wow, last time I posted on here was like the third or second page...))
Vanessa looked at Jasmine as they were excluded from the group inside the bubble, she felt slightly hurt but not enough to actually care. She sighed and stayed standing, wordless. She watched them in the bubble, talking and laughing. She couldn't take it. Vanessa sat at the piano and began to play again. Her fingers just running over the key. Her right hand going over her left and her left crossing over her right in a suffecient manner. She smiled as she looked at Jasmine, then she laughed as she remembered the day when they were starting up the Talent Theatre. She turned her attention back to the piano and continued to play, just barely at the end of her piece. When she finished she left the last note dangling strongly in the air, then she suddenly cut it off and went down the scale.
Vanessa stood up again and looked at Jasmine, then at the bubble with a look so deadly that she swore it could split it open if she tried hard enough but, she sighed and gave up. Looking at her best-friend she was about to propose they leave when Jordan came out of the bubble, pulling Lily behind her and asked them if they would like to join her and the first year. Before Vanessa or Jasmine could answer, however, Jordan had pulled Vanessa by her hand. The older girl grabbed Jasmine's hand and was nearly jerked out of the music room in such a force that she lost her footing and Jordan was nearly dragging her down the halls.
"Jordan!! Hey! Yeah YOU!" Vanessa said rather loudly as she yanked her hand away from the grip of the 13 year old. She looked at the little girl with a strange look in her eyes, and then she shook her head as if she understood what had gone on in there. Jordan didn't want anyone else to know, so Vanessa kept it silent and didn't say a word. Though she did turn to Jasmine and mouthed,"Tell you later." There was nothing she kept from Jasmine.

At Kris' words, Lily was a bit shocked and stepped away. She wasn't sure what he would do to her. He reminded her a bit of her father when he was angry, and when Father was angry, you either left the room or were somewhat damaged, to put it lightly, when he was finished with you. Much less to say what would happen if he was angry for something you did.
Lily was a bit relieved when Jordan asked her if she wanted to leave with her. Kris and Rayne barely, if at all, noticed them leaving. As she was being taken out of the room, Lily couldn't help but be surprised that Kris was related to Dana. It was because of this that she knew she couldn't avoid the Slytherin for long. She just hoped that their next meeting would end somewhat nicer than this one.
