Jordan looked at Kris after Rayne had asked her question, she raised an eyebrow at the first year and then smiled, "Do ya think he would want to spend his time with us measley little third and first years? But, I suppose it's worth a try, eh?" Jordan answered with a question, as she often did. She took out her wand again and waved it.
"Kris you wanna join us?" She asked as she stuck her head out of the bubble and looked at him. The bubble was going to need to be bigger....so she waved her wand and some of the instruments moved back. Before she went back inside though, she turned to Vanessa and Jasmine. Stepping out of the bubble, Jordan walked over to Vanessa, tugged on her sleeve and pulled her down so Jordan could whisper in her ear.
"I need you to do something for me....I know I've been, off. But, that's because I'm out of pills. Will you please send an owl to Chris and ask if he could send me some..please? I don't especially like snapping at people." Jordan whispered. Her brown eyes pleading at the older girl, she knew Vanessa would do it...it was just the way Vanessa was raised, and Jordan smiled. Then she went back to the bubble, sat down and pulled her legs to her so she could wrap her arms around her knees.

"I never thought of it that way." Rayne said thoughtfully when Jordan asked if he would want to join measly third and first years. She smiled when Jordan made the bubble bigger and invited him in anyway.

Jordan smiled and let her legs fall and she crossed them at the ankles. Her head was slumped forward so her chin was touching her chest and she was looking down at her fingernails, which she was picking the nail polish off of. She tilted her head, or what could come as close to tilted as possible and moved her eyes to look up at Rayne and Lily.
"Okay, which one of you participated in the blowing up of Jamine's potion in Potions?" She asked with a slight raise of her eyebrow. She didn't really know all the details, she just knew that some first years had blown up the girl's potion and that they had been sent to McGonagall because of it. Jordan thought it sheer brilliant, but she figured that it was a bad thing to do and that she should find the culprit...and ask what the punishment was.

Rayne fidgeted. "It wasn't me but I was there I think it was hillarious but I didn't have the nerve to do it."

Lily blushed deeply when Jordan asked who had taken part in blowing up Jasmine's cauldron. "Well," she began, looking down. "I sort of...threw a dung bomb in. Me and one of my other friends had planned to play a prank. It just so happened that we chose Jasmine." ((how did u find out about THAT? ))

Jordan smiled and leaned back some more, nearly laying on the floor now. She looked at Lily and smiled warmly, "It was brilliant, but stupid. Jasmine takes pride in her potions, or so I'm told. Next time...choose a different target." Jordan told her with a tone that sounded an awful lot like her mother (( Friends in high places, or friends in medium places...))

Lily sighed. "Okay. At any rate, we got detention for it. And she took 100 points from Gryffindor. Plus, she's writing home to our parents. I really don't think that my father finding out about this is going to improve my health any, if you know what I mean."

Kris thought about it for a moment, before he entered the bubble Jordan widened. He had entered just in time to hear Jordan ask whether Lily or Rayne had been involved in blowing up Jasmine’s cauldron. Kris had heard of the occasion and frowned at the sheer dumbness of the action.
“You are an idiot. For what you did, I would have put you into shackles in the dungeons like Filch often wishes to do,” Kris sneered at Lily angrily hearing she had been involved, “Do you know potions enough to presume what might happen in the potion reacts to the ingredients in a dung-bomb? I doubt it.”
Kris stared at Lily coldly, hoping his point got through to the first year and would make all three of the girls to think before they would do something that stupid again: “The outcome might have exploded and been fatal or irreversible. Would you have wanted to deform Jasmine or anyone in the vicinity to go along for the rest of their lives with harm caused by a stupid prank pulled by you?”
Kris scowled darkly: “You endangered the lives of every single student as well as Snape and yourself in the classroom with it. Snape is rather calm about the Gryffindors as you continue throwing dung-bombs around. There is also a reason why Snape threatens Longbottoms toad which he keeps taking along to class. Do you know how many potions require toad parts and if a whole toad stumbles into one…” Kris left the end of his sentence hanging in the air as he breathed deeply. He didn’t mind that a prank was pulled – hey, he could be pulled into one himself, but the dumb thoughtlessness and idiotism of it made his angry.

Rayne jumped when Kris spoke. She hadn't realized that Kris had actually joined thme in the bubble she didn't think he'd actually accept when she suggested it she was just trying to be nice. Now she wasn't so sure it was the best idea for he was angry when he found out that Lily had thrown the dung bomb in Jasmines potion. No angry didn't seem to be a strong enough word for what Kris was. He seemed to be almost enraged. Calling Lily stupid and saying that Snape had been to easy on her. It made her mad that he was being so mean to Lily. It was done and over with and no harm had come to any of them so he needed to let it go.
"Leave her alone. It's done and over with you've made your point she won't be doing it again. I think she feels bad enough as it is without you being even worse to her." Rayne said angrily. Rayne then realized what she'd just done. She'd stood up for Lily sure but it was to a person from a higher year then her and what was worse was that it was a Slytherin. I probably shouldn't have done that. Rayne thought to herself. She wanted to move as far away as possible but stood her ground.

Kris’s eyes flickered with amusement as Rayne spoke. “And the little lion roars,” Kris muttered taking in the first year slowly. Kris wasn’t the least bit intimidated by her, but he liked the girl’s guts. “So Gryffindor lost a couple of points and she got detention. Not the biggest problem,” Kris drawled out lazily, leaning against the wall with his shoulder while crossing his arms over his chest, “One can live with that. But could she live with having harmed Jasmine for good because of a silly prank?”
Kris moved his eyes to Lily and smirked: “I won’t say or do anything about it, but I do wish she would learn her lesson and get used to thinking her pranks through, before going on with them.”
Kris eyes flashed towards Rayne again and a corner of his mouth curved into a sly grin: “And I’m the big bad ‘Snake’. I am supposed to be mean and threatening and dark. Arrogance is in my nature and I’m not planning on changing it, so I’m not going to take it easy on anyone who has done something foolish in anyone. I might not act anything but I won’t bother to keep my breath. Jordan here can assure of that.”
Kris shrugged carelessly, not really thinking what the first years thought of him and took a sip of the cappuccino cup he had brought along with him.

Rayne glared at him when he said the comment about the little lion roaring. She hated it when people identified others by their houses. What she hated worse was that he looked at her in amusement. Even if he wasn't afraid of her he should at least take her seriously.
"In case you have a hearing problem Gryffindor lost 100 points. And while I don't care about points at all there are some people who do so she's in trouble with them too. As for the detention she got three months of detention as did the other girl. Again as you said not the biggest problem. The fact of the matter is that no one got hurt but her and the girl who was in the prank with her. I could understand you getting this upset if someone had gotten hurt or something but as it stands everyone escaped unscathed so let it go. She won't be doing it again so you're just being unnecissarily cruel to her." Rayne said crossing her arms
"As for you being the 'big bad snake.' You may be a snake but big and bad I highly doubt. And I never said that you should change your nature. Go ahead be arrogant be whatever you think you are just let the incident go already." Rayne said staring intently at him.

Kris just raised an eye-brow. Had his words really gotten to Rayne? He hadn’t even tried to insult anyone yet. “You were the ones who started the topic. I just voiced my opinion,” Kris mused slowly, half-closing his eyes, “And it’s not like detention could hurt you. Cleaning the floors without magic – so you get to work a little. Makes you stay in shape and isn’t that hard. And points can be earned back.”
“I’m just surprised how little thought had gone in the prank. But let’s stop the topic then,” Kris said with a careless shrug smirking back at Rayne holding her eyes with his own piercing green ones easily, not flinching or shifting under her intense stare, “Do pick a new one, mademoiselle.” Kris tilted his head slightly with a grin in the corner of his lips.

Rayne debated telling him that she wasn't the one that was in trouble that it was Lily who'd have to do those things but figured it would be pointless. The whole discussion between them was pointless. She'd just been looking for a fight. She always seemed to be looking for a fight lately. She decided to let the subject drop.
Rayne wondered if Kris was mocking her when he told her to pick a new topic. She started to get angry but quickly controlled it. It wasn't worth getting upset over and she wasn't entirely sure he was mocking her anyway. Rayne looked down at her shoes trying to think of a new topic.
"Alright What's your idea of a suitable prank then?" Rayne asked looking up at Kris again.

“A suitable prank. Well, that depends who I’m pranking and where. Something that wouldn’t hurt anyone, but would be funny for everyone, maybe even the victim of the prank. Maybe some of the things Dana has planned for her Valentine/Friends Day’s party,” Kris smiled remembering the plans for the party Dana had told him about.
“I actually mostly refrain from pranks after being scarred for life from one I pulled with Dana in my first year. We found an potion recipe in one of the books in the rarities book her grand-parents own. It was in Russian, so the potion doesn’t really translate well enough to English, but the rough translation would be something like ‘Momentary Insanity’. We decided to brew it and test it on the professors,” Kris stared off in space with a grin playing on his lips as he recalled the memory. Grinning Kris turned his eyes back to Rayne and grinned at her as well: “Trust me on this one, though. You never want to see Sprout as a cheer-leader, Dumbeldore playing with teddy-bears while wearing pink pajamas with silvery moons and his beard and hair tied with pink ribbons. McGonagall wore a frilly pink dress and made an ear-breaking imitation of Britney Spears while dancing lambada on a desk. Trelawney was a real hippie with the flower pants and prancing around while throwing flower-petals at everyone while singing the wedding-march.”
Kris shook his head at the memory: “I never want to see that sight again! There were other examples as to what the teachers did, but I think those four were the most brightest. Well, Snape too of course, but that doesn’t matter really. I was freaked enough at seeing this that I couldn’t look at any professor for the rest of the year! And I even know sometimes remember it, when they are yelling at me in class.”
Kris grinned once more at his cappuccino cup, emptying it and disposing it with a lazy flick of his wand, sending it back into the kitchen: “Well, there are a lot of neat pranks. They just need a bit of planning.”
Rayne couldn't stop laughing when he told her about the prank that he and Dana had pulled on the teachers. The image of Professor McGonagall dancing the Lambada on her desk while singing Britney Spears really made her laugh. "I don't see why you wouldn't want to see that again." Rayne said seriously. "I'd think it would be hillarious to see."
Rayne sighed and sat down on the floor. "I know these three girls they said that they wanted to change all the labels on Snapes potions that way anything he brewed would turn out wrong. It would be a revenge thing you know? Do you think that would be suitable?" Rayne asked thinking about the plan her two friends had concocted.

“McGonagall doesn’t have the best voice actually. And pink definitely isn’t her color,” Kris grimaced at the thought, “It is extremely funny to think back to it now, but at that time I was horrified. And I spent most of the year in detentions as I couldn’t look nor often even answer correctly to any professor as the image of her under the influence of the potion appeared in front of me.”
Listening to Rayne’s question Kris sighed and rubbed his face: “Snape is one of the best potions masters, there is you know. He even made a revolution in teaching potions in schools. In a some place first and second years still learn only theory of potions, while Snape has us brewing from the first class. A couple of years back, when I was in my first year Snape demonstrated an Expelliarmus charm only once, but it was so colorful that most of us, who saw it can cast it perfectly. Think how much of character it takes to teach like that.”
Kris opened his eyes and looked Rayne straight in the eye: “What do you think – how many students actually dare to look past that crooked nose and greasy hair to find the man inside there? The harsh shield he has around is for his own protection as well as for anything else. There are only a handful of students in this school who give him the respect he actually deserves. Do you really think his life is easy? Think about it next time you saw him and try to understand him as well.”
“As for that revenge. Snape works with very dangerous potions that can be lethal if you aren’t as smart as him. If the labels are changed and he mixes two dangerous potions that don’t go together. It can be the end for him for a moment. Or what if the potion doesn’t explode and gets sent to the Hospital Wing to madam Pomfrey and ill students drink it…,” once again Kris left the end of the sentence hanging in the air, leaving it to Rayne herself to finish the though, “I wouldn’t risk with something like this, as it can hurt and harm so many. You want revenge – go ahead. But make it funny and make sure it doesn’t hurt anything besides his pride, if you are so set on it.”
Kris looked at Rayne: “If you have nothing to do with it, then pardon I used ‘you’ form, but it was just easier at the moment as I don’t know who the three are who are planning this. I’m guessing that those two who tossed the dung-bombs are two of the girls behind it. Once again ‘pardon’ if I’m not correct.” Kris glanced at Lily before looking back at Rayne, hoping his answer had been sufficient.

Rayne glanced downward. She really hadn't thought to look past Snapes hard exterior and thought about how hard it was for him. All she'd ever thought about was how mean he was for favoring Slytherins. She glance upward at Kris again. "You know you're right most of don't give him any kind of respect and you know why? Because he's so mean. I understand that he's sheilding himself from most of us but maybe if he wouldn't blatantly favor some students more then others people would be more understanding. Do you realize that one of my friends had her potion almost exactly correct two shades off. He made her re-do her entire potion. A Slytherin someone from his own house had the exact same potion it was two shades off as well. Exactly the same as my friends. Did he make the boy re-do his? No, know what he said? He said good job and gave the boy a good grade. I could be more understanding of him but his blatant favoritisim makes it hard. Another thing I have against him is he ignored me. I was in the same class as Lily and the other girl. In fact I was there before them. They had their potions done well after mine yet he graded theirs and some other people while completely ignoring me. I ended up leaving and not getting the grade for it because it's like I wasn't even there. That's why most people don't give him respect. That's why I don't anyway." Rayne said glancing downward once again and tracing circles in the dust.
Rayne sighed thinking about the plan that she and Brooke and Cassandra had about the potions. Unfortunately they'd already switched the labels. Luckily for her however she had an excellent memory. She'd go and fix them later. She looked up at Kris, face not giving anything away. "You're right I'll tell them it's not a good idea after all. They'll come up with something else and Lily isn't involved."

Kris looked at Rayne curiously. He hadn’t really thought his words would affect her that much, but he was glad it made her think. “I’m glad you’ll tell them. Hopefully they’ll understand the reasoning of it,” Kris answered with a deep nod as a sign of both respect and gratitude.
“As for Snape. He is from a long line of pure-bloods, who have always themselves better than others. Being prideful and sharp is how he was taught and brought up and it’s not easy to change something that has been taught to you since you were barely a toddler. The way he acts may very well be the only way he knows how to. I have talked to him – really talked to him seriously and I understand him,” Kris’s eyes searched the stars that shone from in from the window. He recalled the conversations they had had when Snape had found Kris in an empty classroom destroying one of the letters Voldemort had sent him, trying to bring a young and strong pure-blood, who was rich and had powerful relatives, to his side. Kris and Snape had talked the whole night practically and Kris had learned a lot, as Snape let Kris look deep into his professors soul and heart. A troubled flicker crossed Kris’s eyes as his eyes turned cold as the words from Voldemort’s letter flashed in front of his eyes.
“I understand him and for that I have to respect him, but telling his secrets and history is not my place,” Kris added pushing the memories back, “He does favor Slytherins to some point, but everybody have their weak points. But that is a part, where I won’t try to justify him.”

Rayne shrugged. "Even if they don't understand the reasoning of it it won't matter. The worst that'll happen is they won't want to speak to me anymore and that's no big deal they'll just end up joining my brother in that aspect." She said scowling. "Anyway it was my idea to begin with they can't exactly go ahead with it now can they not when I'm the one the only one who knows who they are."
She looked over at Kris she really wanted to ask him what Snape and he had talked about but the troubled look in his eyes told her she'd better not. She stretched her legs out and turned to look out the window thinking. "You know that's something I've never understood in purebloods. They think they're better then the rest of us, or most of them anyway. Really though if you stop to think about it they would've died out if it weren't for muggles. Another thing to think about is the fact that Halfbloods, muggle borns and muggles we actually outnumber Pure bloods a thousand to one. If all of us were to team up against the pure bloods we'd be sure to win. Even if it were just muggles against Pure bloods. Sure Pure bloods have magic but look how much killing and destruction muggles do to themselves already. With the amount of muggles there are they could practically wipe out Purebloods if they were to unite together. Most people don't think about that though." Rayne says sighing.

“It’s the ‘old blood’ speaking. Very rarely do regular muggles have the same knowledge of their family-trees for centuries back,” Kris guessed with a shrug. He was a pure-blood and from a very old and respected line, so he had never really faced the problems a muggle-born or a half-blood would have.
“And I have to agree with your thought though that muggles would over-power wizards and witches. And the blood-lines of pure-bloods would die out and get too closely tied with each-other, so muggle-borns and half-bloods are a necessity for the wizarding world to carry on. It will take a long years if not even centuries for everyone or at least most people to understand it.”
