Post by Professor Sybil Trelawney on Feb 7, 2005 21:42:51 GMT
((This class is for first, second, and thrid years only and anyone thats in any house.))
It was a cold morning and Sybil was making sure the class was ready to begin. The puffs of smoke could make any one a little dizzy. Shaking her head she looked at the board and over her lesson plans. Today was beginners to work on memorizing tea leaf forms. Of course she new that not everyone will be correct or right and she won’t take any funny business. Just then her breath caught sort as she wondered if Mr. Potter would be in class that day. Puff her blonde hair more she looked at the steps which had been already out for the students to enter. Taking a deep breath she welcomed every student who came her way. "Good morning!" she called out and flipped through a stack of papers. Her hands started to shake from some one presence near. Looking at the girl she tisked at her and walked over towards the window. Pulling it open for the cold air to enter the room. Rubbing her hands together she picked up a piece of chalk and write on the board.
Make sure you have your books everyone. Today you will need them. Turn to page 166 in "Reading Tea Leafs" by James Pratt. Take a seat anywhere.
Putting the chalk back down the board she rubbed off the dust on her wrinkly hands. Turning around swiftly she sat down in her chair and waited for the students to arrive. Sybil was normally one to expect the best of her students, and if they didn't show her the best then she didn't show them the best. It was an expectation that Sybil had set when she had come three years ago to Hogwarts, and she expected the students to live up to it. If not then they surely wouldn't learn anything. As she finished sifting through the papers, Sybil glanced and smiled, realizing that near everyone was already there, she couldn't wait for class to begin.

*Pyro walked the steps to go to Divination class. "Wont this be fun" he thought to himself. "wonder what the old bat is gonna have us do today". he purposfully took the steps as slowly as possible, other kids walked past him on the steps. he didnt reach the classroom untill it was almost time for class to begin. Still not moving anyfaster he went and picked a seat.
He looked up at the board and groaned. "Tea leaves.....how wonderful". He reached down and picked up his book and began to slowly leaf through the pages untill he got to the page assigned to them on the bored..than he set his elbow on the table and placed his chin in his palm and waited for the bat to start her ranting.

Jordan tilted her head as she entered the Divination Classroom. She didn't necessarily enjoy Trelawney's teaching methods, but she did enjoy Divination. So she had decided to show up anyway. Her brown hair was down today, which was a good thing, and she wasn't in a bad mood, but not exactly a good mood either. Jordan took a seat near the back, her eyes focusing on the board in front and sighed.
"Page 166, eh." Jordan took out her book and flipped open the page 166. Not really something she felt like doing anyway. She would rather be dancing, drawing, singing, anythinging at the moment. Tea leaves, something Jordan did enjoy. But, not as much as palmistry. She sat back in her seat, waiting for class to begin, hoping to God that she wouldn't fall asleep before then.

Lily walked slowly into the Divination classroom. She said a quick 'hello' to Professor Trelawney and took a seat near the back, next to Jordan. After turning to page 166, she spoke. "Hey. How are you this morning?"

Faith looked around slightly dubiously as she entered the Divination classroom. She greeted Proffesor Trelawney with a weak smile and a raise of her hand. However when her teacher turned around Faith rasied her eyebrows rather sceptically.
She chose a seat near the back and got out her book, checking the board. Page 166 in a book by James Pratt. Faith couldn't help but realise the relevance of his last name. She grinned to herself as she turned to the correct page and waited for the lesson to begin.

Ivy sighed as she saw what she had next on her timetable. Divination. Definitely not the best of school subjects. Maybe not quite so frustratingly hard as Ancient Runes, just more frustratingly incomprehensible. But Divination lessons were usually a welcome break in the day, because there was little point in Ivy trying anyway. Even if the room was a bit stuffy and always smelt a bit weird. Ivy usually came out of there with a splitting headache. Which wasn't great for the rest of the day's work.
Ivy took a seat just in front of Jordan, smiling wryly at her. She riffled through the pages of the book. They were too long, these books. As though anyone wanted to read even 166 pages on reading tea leaves. She sank back into her pouffe, almost falling off it. Ivy smiled, steadying herself and rubbing her eyes as the headache began. It was a bit early in the lesson for that. The Professor must be burning something especially potent today, Ivy reflected, as she waited for the lesson to begin.

Rayne made her way to the Divination classroom humming a random tune. She wondered what they'd be learning today. She had seriously considered not attending the class as most people told her that it was a very wooly subject. 'Well it can't be worse then Potions now can it.' She thought as entered the classroom.
Looking around she noticed a few of her friends. She debated sitting by Jordan but Jordan already had company and she didn't want to intrude. Instead Rayne chose a seat nearest the window.
Taking out her book Rayne turned to the assigned page before turning to look out the window. What she wouldn't give to be outside right now. Rayne sighed a depressed sigh and waited for the class to begin.

Brooke trudged to divination. The only reason she signed up for it was because all she had to do was make up some phony predictions and she would get top marks. Who wouldn't do that kind of a class? It was a total blow off! Upon entering the classroom she saw quite a few choices as to where she could sit. She was tempted to sit with Lily and Jordan, but then she noticed Rayne sitting all by herself. That made up her mind instantly. There was no way that Brooke would leave a friend all by herself. She walked over and tossed her bag onto the floor before taking a seat next to her friend.
"Hey Rayne! How's it hanging? I didn't know you were in Divination. I guess we can tough it out together right? All we have to do is make up something about how Jupiter is effecting us next Monday and we're good, right?"

Cass hurried up the stairs to divination. Not her favoriate class, but she had to go. She ran into the room just in time for class to start. Faith, Pyro, Rayne, and Brooke were all there. However, she wasn't quite sure if she wanted Pyro to see her in such a state of dishevelment.
Her normally, long, curly hair looked almost frizzy. She was pretty sure she had on two different size socks. And she was walking with a bit of a hunch from the weight of the books on her back. She tripped on her robes as she walked in but quickly regained her composure as she walked up to the table she had chosen to sit at. Right in front of Pyro, right beside Faith, and behind Rayne and Brooke.
She pulled out her book and turned to the page, and coughed while the smoke in the room choked her a little bit. She pulled out her quill and ink bottle, and it fell to the floor. She stifled a shriek, and looke around to make sure no one notice, which of course everyone had.
" Evanesco," she waived her wand and the ink disappeared. She pulled out another ink bottle and sat back down and decided to sit still. That seemed the safest bet.

Lily looked up from her reading as Rayne and Brooke walked in. "Hey, guys," she said. Lily wondered if Brooke was planning any pranks for this class, and hoped that they would be a bit more innocent than last time. they pulled one together.

"Hi Lily, I'm a bit...tired I suppose. How about you?" Jordan asked with a sweet smile of innocence. She tucked some of her hair behind her ear, and looked at the red strand of hair that she had left dangling. It was a neat chamr she rather enjoyed, changing spots and pieces of her hair a different color. Tomorrow would be green.

Rayne jerked her attention away from the window when Brooke came in and sat next to her. "Oh hey Brooke how are you? I actually considered not coming to this class you know I heard that the teacher is really batty." She whispered so the teacher wouldn't hear her. "Then I heard that it's extremely easy all you have to do is make up some dreadful story about how the planets are affecting you. I figure I'm good at making up stories you know so I'll be great at this class." She chuckled tucking a strand of hair behind her ears. "I'm glad that you're here now though at least I have a friend to keep me company you know?"

Cira had been in the room for a while but hadn't heard most of what had been going on around her as she'd been reading. Soon, though, a scratchy voice managed to break through her concentration and she jerked her head up almost as fast as she'd been brought back to reality... damn reality sucks right now Cira thought to herself. Divination never was her favorite subject... but she endured it anyway.
Cira realized people had gotten out their textbooks and were leafing through them. Hurriedly, Cira got out her own book and craned her next to see what page they were aiming for then realized with relief that it had been written up on the board. She turned to that page and sighed.

Lily smiled as she saw the new streak in Jordan's hair. "I'm fine, I guess. By the way, I like your hair."

Brooke casually and unwilling flipped her book open to the proper page. She pulled out two pieces of parchment, one to doodle on and the other to pass notes on. The old bat probably wouldn't even notice, being so caught up with looking through the inner eye or some rubbish like that. "Yeah, I know what you mean, Rayne. Just make up some sob story and you're good to go, right? That's what I do at least. I have no idea why I signed up for this class. Stupid waste of time if you ask me, but hey, I figured if I'm gonna take classes why not take a blow-off class, right? Anyway, care to pass notes? I'm afraid I might be a little hard to keep a conversation going with all of that crazy woman's ranting."
She pushed her spare parchment across to where Rayne could see it and pulled out a quill and a pot of ink. Brooke started to doodle little designs on her other sheet of parchment and waited for Rayne's reply.

Cass ruffled though her book and found a loose piece of notebook paper. She hurridly scribbled a note.
TEXTPyro, don't look so bored. You could actually act like you like Trewalney. I'm planning on going to Hogsmeade this weekend. Wanna come? Oh yeah, by the way, you still can't get one up on me.TEXT
She folded the piece of paper into an airplane, and launched it while it looked like he was totally immersed into his book. It hit him in the head.
She looked at Pyro as if to say, See, I won again.

God, its just to easy with him, Cassandra thought smuggly to herself as she crumpled the note into her bag.
She smiled smuggly, knowing that she had won another round.
((Just so you know, since we already have one post going on in Hogsmeade, lets just keep it all there. I didn't realize I had posted two of these invitations. Unless you really want to have two posts together going on there. I just thought it would be simpler.))
