Charles wasn't one to give up with a fight. He believed that you had to keep trying at things once, twice as many times as you had to until you got it right. But Divination – he had to admit that was a lost cause. The only thing he knew he was definitely doing in this class was working on his creative skills, as he had to come up with all sorts of predictions and long stories about things that were allegedly going to happen to him and in fact would surprise him very much if they did. One might ask why he took the class and the truth was that just like for many other students, the notion of being able to find out what might happen and be "forewarned" as Professor Trelawney put it was very fascinating. Any illusions he had of doing so had now completely disappeared after three years in her class and thinking maybe next time he would be able to "see" something.
Charles sat down at the table Jordan and Ivy were sharing, and with a grin and a "Hi" he opened his book on the page Professor Trelawney had asked them to. He looked at Ivy who he could see was not looking forward to the day. He bent his head on one side and looked at her for a minute and then smiled. "OK, listen to this prediction. By the end of this class, you shall have a big headache," he said with a smile. "See? I don’t need tea leaves to make predictions… I know everything about the future," he said. It had been a long time since he had talked to Ivy but he had noticed she wasn't looking very happy these days. He didn’t want to pry so instead he was just trying to make her laugh whenever he could, for they hadn't known each other for a long time he knew how much you needed a friend when life was being hard on you.

Ivy smiled slightly as Charles Driscoll joined them. He was usually quite fun to be with, from the limited experience Ivy had (she remembered with a smile the breathless hunt for his cat), so hopefully the Divination lesson might be slightly more entertaining than usual. Nevertheless she groaned as she looked at the page of the book they were going to be studying. It didn't look much different from the rest of the pages. It probably wasn't. In Ivy's opinion, there wasn't much point to Divination. Was knowing your future even a good thing? Ivy slumped in her seat, but a grin spread across her face as she listened to Charles.
"I think that method of prediction is called common sense," she said wryly, sitting up a little straighter, still with a slight smile at the corners of her mouth. "I had a headache already, actually," she continued in a lighter tone, shuffling on the pouffe, disliking the way it just made her sink into it, "but it seems to have gone now." She smiled at Charles, her face lighting up in a way it hadn't done for weeks. Things like headaches did seem to be dispelled if someone could make you laugh, or even feel a little happier.

Amelia enetered class just before the bell rang and smiled. She absolutely adored Divination! She also loved Trelawny! She wanted to be a Seer one day also. To teach the art, to use the art... it was her dream. Amelia sat down in the front, students chatting happily. She looked around and saw Jordan. She waved and then read the board. Page 166... she got out her book and turned the page quickly. Tea leaves... she smiled to herself and sat up as straight as possible. She looked around the room again and noticed a few faces she didn't know yet. A boy sitting with a smile on his lips and his hand writing in a note. A girl sta near to him watching his hand move across the paper. She looked around more and saw yet another boy sitting near Jordan. She noticed Ivy and smiled. She looked back to her book and sighed... she should sit with Jordan and Ivy instead of sitting alone... but Ivy hated to be in a group of more than three people so joining would make her uncomfortable. She debated this while she waited for class to begin and looked back at Jordan, waving again. Come on... wave back, you! she thought.

"Settle down now everyone!" Sybil said looking around the room. She did not know that this many people were interested in the art of Divination. Walking next to each and everyone she than stopped dead in her tracks and noticed a girl ore seeming to screaming out to her. "Young lady you are in a deep depression over something," Sybil said and touch the girls hand and tisked her tongue. At least it wasn’t another Potter which she could tell death for him every time she noticed the boy. "Don't worry Miss Tunstall you seem to have gone through it once already...." Sybil said walking down the isle looking at each of her students. Tuning around suddenly catching everyone off guard, "Now can any body tell me what is the actual name of tea leave reading? Anybody at all?" She said waiting for the hands to be raised but knew no one might get the question right.

Cassandra raised her hand in hoping to grab Professor Trelawney's attention. " Professor, I believe the answer is Tasseography."
She waited patiently hoping she had the answer right.

Kari burst into the Divination a few minutes late. She could feel just about every eye in the classroom boring into her.
"I'm sorry Professor Trelawney," she said, taking a seat near the back. "I couldn't find my book." Kari looked around. She looked apolegetically at Cass because she had interrupted Professor Trelawney from answering, and then pulled out her notebook and quill, along with an ink pot, and turned to page 166 in her book. She scanned the page, just to get an idea of what was going on, and looked to the front.

Rayne had been about to reply when Professor Trelawney began spouting off her usual nonsense. When the teacher wasn't looking Rayne grabbed the piece of parchment that Brooke had put on the side of her desk for note passing.
There she goes with misery and death again. I wonder who's going to die this class period. Rayne wrote and passed the note to Brooke.

Kari watched as Professor Trelawney blathred on and on. She was always predicting someone's death, usually Harry Potter's. Kari pushed her hair out of her eyes, at the moment it was the longest she had ever worn it, about halfway down her back. She was pretty sure that Cass was right about Tasseogrophy. Kari didn't know anything about Divination, but she had always been good at Arithmancy. The Divination classroom was suffocating, with it's perfume and stiffling fire.
Kari pulled out her notebook and began to sketch a few pictures.

Amelia's hand dropped dissappointed as Cassandra said the answer. She sighed and smiled at Trelawny, hoping she would stop at her and predict soemthing. She watched her favorite teacher for any sign of recognition at Amelia. She sighed when her eyes didn't catch the teacher's eye. She shrugged slightly and waited for the next question that she was sure to get right.

Kari felt her attention span seeping away. Who cared if she day dreamed? She had plenty to daydream about, there was all those guys she had crushes on, all of them at least a year or two older than her, and there was the flyinglesson she would be having that weekend, and finally there was James. She never knew what to expect from him. One moment they were just friends, and the next they were, well... A little more. Kari didn't want to admit it to herself, but she was starting to fall for James' flattery and kindness. It was almost impossible not to. Kari flet her head slip out of her hand and her chin hit the desk painfully. She immediately woke up and rubbed her chin. She half-expected Trelawney to come over and reprimand or admonish her about "disturbing the spirits" or some useless info like that, but the old bat surprised her. She didn't even blink an eye.

Zyexria took the first free seat she could find and leafed through her text book while waiting more instructions for the Professor. After wating a few more minutes she pulled out a book called " True Sight Through the Ages" and started to read while she watied on the Professor or a classmate to aknowledge her.
