Nodding to Samantha in greeting as she reached the class, Kris didn’t pay much attention to what Perseus and Jacquin were telling. He already knew all that stuff, instead Kris kept his attention on the eggs and grown dragons. Kris just raised an eye-brow as Hagrid said he didn’t want people with an attitude as Kris’s approaching the dragons? Arching the eye-brow towards Dana as well at her comment, Kris didn’t utter a word. Yes, he had a bit of a rough attitude sometimes but it came from confidence of knowing what he was doing or what he was going to do. Kris knew how easy it was to get hurt, but it didn’t bother him. Wounds healed.
Kris slipped on a pair of dragon-skin leather and his dragon-hide gloves smirking with amusement at Dana’s outrage of having to touch raw liver with bare hands. Slapping her pair of dragon-hide gloves into her hand, Kris picked up a couple pieces of different kinds of meat. Moving with a fairly relaxed but still quick pace to the fence separating the dragons from the rest of the clearing, Kris leaned one of his hands on it without slowing his pace and jumped over the fence with ease. Being in great shape really paid off from time to time. Letting his eyes linger on the baby-dragons for a moment Kris walked over to where the Hungarian Horntail was climbing around. Stopping about a step from the dragon Kris lowered himself to one knee and looked at the baby dragon for a moment. “Don't want a four leaf clover Don't want an old horse shoe Want your kiss 'cause I just can't miss With a good luck charm like you
Come on and be my little good luck charm Uh-huh huh, you sweet delight I want a good luck charm a-hanging on my arm To have, to have, to hold, to hold tonight
Don't want a silver dollar Rabbit's foot on a string The happiness in your warm caress No rabbit's foot can bring,” Kris sang softly, lowering his voice with experience to a low and soothing level. Something one would use to sing a lullaby with. Kris’s voice caught the attention of the the common Welsh Green, even though it might have been the meat in his hand almost as much. Still the baby dragon stumbled towards Kris and Kris took this as a signal to move forward the rest of the way. Moving so he was kneeling on one knee next to the dragon, Kris slowly fed the animal the first piece of meat. At least tried to as the dragon spit it out. On Kris's clothes on top of everything. Not feeling bothered by it Kris tried his luck with an other piece of meat which did work this time.
“Now that’s better, isn’t it, darling? And these clothes were brand new until you spit on them you know?” Kris muttered to the dragon, slowly sliding his finger down the dragons back, avoiding the small creatures tail with a quick reflex as the dragon swung it. “Play nice,” Kris told the dragon sternly and got a small flame in response, before the dragon started chewing on one other piece of meat as Kris picked hte creature up toying with the basmall animal at the same time as feeding it. Kris liked hte smmall dragon - he seemed to have most character from the for hatched dragons and Kris appreciated character. Kris grinned and fed hte dragon a new piece of meat as the dragon snapped hhis teeth towards him playfully, not really biting either - Kris had managed to get enough contact with the animal for that as he started to almost play a tugging game with the dragon.

Robert picked one up. It's scales felt kind of prickly. It opened it's eyes and looked at him. It's was so cute. Wish I could have one. He pated it's head and smiled. It gave a babylike burp and a few sparks shot out of it's nostrils.
"Cootchie Cootchie Coo," Robert whispered to it at he tickeled it's tiny belly. A squeal came from it as it grabed on Robert's cloak with it's small sharp claws. It ripped him sleave and when Robert moved his arm, the baby dragon clung to it. Now Robert, don't get attached. You cant have him. As if on cue, the dragon closed it's eyes and dropped into a sleep. As Robert rocked it, he felt the urge to ralk to it some more, but decided it would be best if he didn't. How can I not get attatched to something so adorable? Robert asked himself. The dragonling yawned and released it's hold upon Robert's arm. Even though he was done feeding it, he still held it and rocked it back and forth, cradeled in his arms. Iwonder, Robert thought, how long Hagrid will have acsess to them. Maybe I'll se you again. He stroked the dragon with his right hand and wished he really could see him again.

Pyro put on his pair of gloves and than went to grab a vest. He put the vest on and grabed himself a slab of meat and approached one of the dragons. He aproached it slowly, both his hands in view. Kind of like you would approach a wary dog to show it you werent going to do anything to it. The dragon eyed him warily. Finally he was right next to it and he slowly kneeled down beside it and presented it the meat.
The dragon seemed to sniff at the meat than it grabed a bite of it. Pyro set the meat down on the ground as the dragon began to dig into it. He smirked and gently ran a finger down along its back, feeling its tiny scales. "Well now, that wasnt to hard." He muttered under his breath.

Dana watched as some other students approached the dragons and sighed knowing she wouldn’t sleep at all the night, if she passed up such an opportunity to see dragons and even touch them. “How long are the dragons going to be here, professor? I mean, is it safe for just hatched dragons to move, especially under shielding charms to avoid random sighting by muggles?” Dana asked curiously before climbing to the dragons slowly.
Reaching her arm forward Dana approached the Chinese Fireball and offered the dragon some liver. The dragon sniffed the meat, snorted and then took it slowly, starting to chew on it. Taking it as a good sign, Dana moved a bit closer and slowly touched the scales on the dragon, feeling a smile fighting it’s way on her lips as she took one more piece of meat and fed the small dragon. This piece of meat was taken much more happily and Dana gently petted the small dragons head.

Drake walked at a quick pace toward the edge of the forbidden forest where he had been directed to go. It was going to be his first class here at Hogwarts this year, and he was a bit nervous. He arrival at Hogwarts had been delayed because of the selling of his house.
When Drake reached the spot in which his fellow students were gathered his listened to what the dragon trainer had to say. When he had finished he took his dragon hide gloves from his cloak pocket.
“Okay, so I’m supposed to take the dragon and feed it liver and meat from that bucket.” He mumbled to himself.
He slowly slipped the gloves on and walked toward the baby dragons. He carefully picked up one of them, being careful not to hurt the undeveloped wings. He gasped as the baby dragon exhaled a small amount of fire. However, his hands remained unburned due to the protection of the gloves.
After picking up the dragon, in which he was going to feed, he approached the bucket that contained the food. He reached inside and pulled out what looked to be a piece of liver. He had learned this from the potion books he had been reading that belonged to his father.
Drake took both the dragon and the liver to an empty piece of grass, but alone the way the dragon was fighting him to get the food, spewing several balls of smoke at him. Drake sat down and held the food in front of the dragons face. It snapped at the food and ripped off a chunk of it. It maliciously tore the peace of meat apart. It was amazing watching this creature devour the meat. Drake himself however, was a vegetarian and only used meat for the purpose of potion making, if it was necessary.
As Drake watched him however, he grew fond of the little fellow.
“I think I’ll call you Darwin,” He said. “Just between us.”
Drake smiled as he watched the little fellow eat.

Attired in the dragon hide vest and gloves as she was instructed Zyexria carefully examined the remaining babies that needed fed. Zyexria smiles happily at her brother , a fellow Ravenclaw as he went to go feed a Chinese Fireball, and wondered where her brother and two sisters , the ones in Slytherin were. Zyexria carefully picked out a heart and a couple pieces of liver, she smiled noticing they still held a little heat. She carefully cut the organs into slightly smaller pieces. She placed the pieces in a clean cloth chief and started to walk toward the Hungarian horntails eggs. She noticed that there was a particularly assertive one in the nest as she was trying to make sure she was the first picked out of the nest. Smiling Zyexria once again looked about and caught sight of four of her siblings. Smiling that the missing Slytherians had made it to class and were working on seeing to the feeing of some dragons, Zyexria squatted down at the side of the nest and held out a hand with some of the meat on it and waited. One Horntail was almost twice the size of her siblings and already has a lordly look about her. Zyexria held out her offering of food to her just as an unknown Slytherin came up to the other side of the nest to get a dragon.

The baby dragons accepted the food as the Ministry dragon handler watched. Hagrid looked back towards the dragon handler with an elated smile and offered, "So, are ye goin' ter let 'em try some stunning?"
The dragon handler nodded and called out to the class, "All right, people! I want all students 5th year and above to gather around. The adult dragons are about to wake up and we need to put them back to sleep with stunning charms if everyone 5th year and above could line up, wands raised, we'll be ready to perform this everyday procedure!" He, himself, raised a jet black wand in the air and pointed it towards the nearest dragon, waiting patiently for the students 5th year and above to line up next to him. Once they had lined up, he would cast a counter charm and see what the students could do as a group. It would be vital for the students to cast as many charms together as they could, or else the other dragon handlers would have to step in.

Robert rocked the tiny dragon until one of the people from the ministry spoke up. As Robert listned to what he was saying, he thought to himself. I'm glad I'm not a fith year yet. He pittied the old dragons. Being continually stunned didn't sound like much fun. Robert stood and was about to wake up the dragonling. He held it close it him as he moved from where he was sitting and tried to get a better look at the stunning that was about to take place. Even though it did seem quite cruel, and was undoubtably going to be painful, Robert knew that he couldn't look away.
"I thought this was Care of Magical Creatures not, Attacking Magiclal Creatures," Robert mumbled under his breath. Well I do hope you don't wake up and see your mom being attacked, he thought as he gazed upon the little dragon.

Sighed and mumbled " There are other ways to calm them down." Zyexria looked undecided about what to do when the little Dragon she had been feeding starting to turn to go toward its mother and let out a keening wail.
She hastily looked about and lifted it in her arms making sure to lock eyes with the little tike. She started humming softly while feeding it chuncks of the meat and stroking it directly between where her wings met the body. Slowly the little dragon started to settle down.

Kris looked up as the dragon handler spoke up. He was a fifth year, so he would have to get up there. “As much fun as it was, looks like the fun is over now,” Kris muttered softly to the Welsh Green he was playing with. The dragon had eaten and know he wanted to play. The small creature certainly seemed to have more than enough spirit. Getting up with his face turning into an emotionless mask once again. Scratching the baby-dragon once again Kris softly placed him back on the ground and turned to leave, receiving a snort of fire and a high-pitched yelp from the dragon.
Pulling off his dragon-hide gloves Kris jumped over the fence and stood a couple of steps away from the dragon-tamer. Kris understood that group-work was needed to handle a dragon, but that didn’t mean he liked it. At least the class was held with Ravenclaws not with those reckless and foolish Gryffindors or cowardly Hufflepuffs. Kris eyes the dragon nearest to them and most probably the one they would have to be handling calmly. It wouldn’t be an easy task to stun the huge beast. Kris slipped his wand out of it’s hided pocket in her sleeve and said without moving a muscle except for the slight wind to pull on his longer black hair. Waiting for the others to group together, Kris silently watched the dragon weighing different spells in his mind, deciding what might be useful what not.

Dana laughed and fed the small Chinese Fireball the pieces of meat. Slowly she started to feel a bit more comfortable around the creatures – maybe because it was relatively small compared to the grown-species. And small enough to be held with one hand which also reassured Dana. Dana let the small dragon on the ground and walked back towards the fence, not feeling sad of leaving the small creature. Sure, the dragon was cute to one point, but Dana couldn’t forget how dangerous the animal could be.
“Stun them?” Dana gasped out staring at one of the large dragons when the dragon-tamer had finished his little speech. Dana glanced back, wishing she could stay with the baby dragon. Or that she was a year younger – or that the professor would believe that she was. Dana most certainly didn’t want to see a dragon set on destruction face to face. Dana scowled at Kris when he stopped a couple of paces form the dragon-tamer, even though the scowl would most probably be unnoticed. “Why on earth do I still take the bloody class?” Dana muttered angrily, even though she knew the answer. The classes were rather interesting sometimes, they were held in fresh air and Dana liked most of the creatures they studied. Even though Hagrids choice of animals was even more doubtful than Dumbeldore’s choice of DADA professors.
“I’ll run as soon as there is any threat to me,” Dana muttered angrily hoping to convince herself as she slipped a trembling hand into Kris’s trying to find some reassurance from the contact. Dana’s wand didn’t shiver though – they needed some cool head and strong nerves to make sure none of them would be hurt. Dana’s wand didn’t waver, but Dana was half-hidden behind Kris, who seemed to comfort. Only a little, but still. “What spells do work on a dragon?” Dana whispered almost fervently, licking her lips. However good or bad the team-work would be, her Kris’s co-operation would be perfect. The relatives were close enough to work together momentarily whatever the situation was. But that didn’t stop Dana from being afraid. Nor very seriously contemplating of dropping COMC.

Post by Jaquin Prokenstien on Apr 15, 2005 19:17:31 GMT
Jaquin fed one of the baby Hungarian Horntail with a wide smile on his face. He had always wanted to work with a dragon just as Hagrid always dreamed of. His elation would probably last a few weeks just from the experience of working with these strikingly pulchritudinous dragons. Their scales melded perfectly into armor plating and their heads were magnificently shaped, batlike wings spread and a small kindling flame in its mouth. Jaquin continued throwing the baby dragon some liver as he stooped on the ground, holding a calm hand over its head, and slowly stroking it to keep it from blowing fire at him. It was clear that some of these dragons had erratic temperaments which needed control. He had already witnessed a few other younger students acquire nasty bruises from an unhappy dragon.
Just as Jaquin finished feeding the baby Hungarian Horntail, he heard the dragon tamer call for all 5th years and above to help out with stunning the waking, adult dragons. Jaquin's hand immediately slipped towards a sheath on his belt and slipped out a sleek, white wand. He twirled it between his fingers and approached the dragons with great meticulousness. They were slowly stirring and he could see their bodies trembling with power as he endeavored to stretch their limbs. Jaquin had seen the dragon tamers before and was confident that his powerful stunning spell would be the most efficacious of all. Afterall, he had never seen any other spell, jinx, or hex utilized in the process of putting a dragon to sleep. Jaquin walked up next to a Ravenclaw girl and a Slytherin boy, both younger than he. Without hesitation, he raised his wand slightly and pointed it at the nearest dragon. He knew that Perseus would have no problem at all, but in order to stun a dragon they would have to work in groups. He whispered to the Slytherin 5th year, "Tell the girl to use stupefy at the exact same time we use it. We need to be unanimous and focused. Make sure that you enunciate your spell and put a lot of force behind it. If nothing goes wrong, the dragons should be stunned."

Desiray stood in the back, watching the class yawnign every now and thenw ith complete and utter boredom. She hated this class, and definatly the professor. She clicked her tounge on the back of her teeth. She was a bit surprised when the dragons were shown, but that shock had vanished by now. She looked around, boredly, not bothering to think of an answer to the professor's stupid question.

Zyexria turned from the adults and the older kids and started mumbling to the little dragon that she had in her hands. Ahe started to scratch the eye ridge that was directly above the right eye. The little dragon was eyeing her curiously and kepy opening her mouth as if to speak. Behind her there was a loud roar and the little dragon quickly swung her tail around, catching Zyexria in the shoulder.

Kris grinned mentally at Dana’s grumblings. It wasn’t as much as if her cousin was angry but rather that she was a bit scared. Wary rather – bringing dragons to class was dangerous. Kris understood it, even though he personally wasn’t afraid. Giving a comforting squeeze to Dana’s hand Kris turned his head a little: “I’m not sure about you, but I would use Stupefy. Singing lullabies might not be that effective.”
Just then a Ravenclaw joined them. One of those theory guys who had spoken in the beginning of class Kris recalled as he took the boy in with a mixture of a sneer and a scowl on his face. He was barely an inch taller than Kris and he was obviously too confident of himself. Confidence was a dangerous privilege if used too freely - no dragon-tamer or someone working with dangerous animals could never show fear, but they could never be too confident either. Kris had spent a month in a dragon-tamers camp the previous summer and he knew well enough what to do and how to do it. He had had enough experience. But this guy couldn’t even use simple logic nor manners. He didn’t know Kris so why had he came to whisper such nonsense to him instead of going to Dana.
“’The girl’ does have ears and he can actually think and listen for herself. And do stay clear of me – just because I have use for you doesn’t mean I have to tolerate you near me,” Kris sneered loud enough to anyone to hear, “And since you already preaching that spells need some force and concentration, maybe you should try adding that flash to your smile. I’m sure you’d be impeccable as an other Lockheart. This brainy here, asked met o tell you, a straight quote: “Tell the girl to use stupefy at the exact same time we use it. We need to be unanimous and focused. Make sure that you enunciate your spell and put a lot of force behind it.”.”
Dana scowled towards Kris at his comments but his dry tone and teasing words did bring comfort to her. Almost as much as the comforting squeeze he gave Dana’s hand. Feeling Kris’s muscle tense suddenly Dana whipped her head to the side to se an other Ravenclaw whisper something to him. It was surprising – Jaquin didn’t even know Kris, so why would he talk to him and so secretly? A moment later Dana’s mental question was answered by Kris’s words. Jaquin had called her ‘that girl’? Jaquin should have come to speak directly to her as a house-mate, even if he didn't happen to know her name, not go to a Slytherin and ask him to deliever the message. And his comment that Kris had just repeated loud enough for everybody on the field to hear was outrageous. With her nerves already being twisted with the upcoming game, the coming OWLs and the dragons Jaquin’s words snapped something in Dana s she whipped around releasing Kris’s hand and stepping in front of him with the tip of her wand pointed directly between Jaquins eyes: “The girl actually has some ability to think, unless what you seem to think. I didn’t think any Ravenclaw would be supporting such outdated and chauvinistic ideas. Would you like to get a first hand experience to see for yourself exactly how good my stunning spell is?”
Dana’s eyes burned angrily towards Jaquin before they traveled to the professor for a moment. Knowing that he couldn’t hex someone – even if he did completely deserved it! – in front of a professor, Dana put her wand away. Stepping closer to Jaquin so there was only a couple of inches of distant between them Dana smiled to him very pleasantly before sending a right hook flying towards his face and feeling rather content when her fist made contact. Jaquin was only some inches taller than Dana, so the move hadn’t been even difficult to do. Turning on her heel Dana glared at everyone – she was rather sure no female student on the field would feel sorry for Jaquin, especially after hearing what the problem had been brought on about. Not caring about the dragons – the dragon-tamers were paid and paid well for their job which they should be doing and dragons were classified dangerous for a reason, Dana stomped away from the field towards the castle before anyone uttered a word. ((Absolutely NOTHING personal with that punch, Jaquin. You are a good writer, but the comment grated Dana’s nerves and did the same for my nerves. I took long enough to calm down before replying to it – I would have after stunning the dragons, but class went on too slowly for that. Besides you saw Dana’s reasonings before she acted. As for that punch – considering how close Dana was standing it would be unrealistic if Jaquin escaped hte hit completely. I'll leae it up to you whether it hit, how strong and maybe Jaquin even managed to block it and Dana's hand hit his arm. It's completely up to you and I will not argue with whatever you will say about it. And once again - please don't take an offence. )

Kris watched as Dana whipped around completely qualifying for the saying ‘armed and dangerous’. As Dana’s grand-father had once told Kris in a private conversation, it almost seemed as if Dana’s grand-mother could almost breath fire towards you in rage. Dana certainly had the same ability and in a couple of years her glare could compete with Snape’s or McGonagall’s Kris thought to himself with amusement. Keeping a watchful eye on everybody else Kris kept a steady hold on his wand – whoever would try to interrupt Dana would be receiving some rather nasty hexes from Kris whatever it took. A moment later Dana put her wand away and recognizing the friendly and absolutely charming smile Kris tensed. A moment later Jaquin did receive a rather mean punch. Kris let out a quiet but impressed whistle. Sure, he had been the one to teach Dana that move, but she had just used them rather impressively. Kris would have to congratulate her later. There had been enough force behind hit to break a nose, even though Kris doubted this was the case right now. He didn’t bother to look closer if Jaquin had even managed to do something to block the hit or not. Quiet laughter – a rather remarkable characteristic from a Slytherin – escaped Kris as he threw his head back and laughed as Dana stomped away. But this was going to carry all over the school Kris figured. It would probably even be a topic in Slytherin as well, who already took Dana rather neutrally. “I though Ravenclaws were thought to be the smart ones. A free piece of information for this amusing display. One never crosses a pretty, strong, intelligent and an extremely independent woman who on top of everything else has a temper to match one of these dragons here, if rubbed the wrong way,” Kris told the boy with amusement still evident in his voice that once again carried over the silent field for everybody to hear. Turning away Kris picked up Dana’s bag and throwing it on his shoulder disappeared between the trees after Dana not even listening for what punishment Dana would receive for hurting one of the ‘good boys’. One more chuckle escaped Kris’s lips as he thought of the irony – for once Dana had been the one to create havoc. And Kris, who was usually counted as a trouble-maker had just stood by innocently. Picking up his speed to a jog Kris hurried after Dana, knowing that she would never be allowed to forget this situation. ((Just one more note. Both Dana and Kris left the class and won’t be coming back. Sorry, if we interrupted the class, professor. And please take a couple of deep breaths before replying as well professor. And however you react - do keep in mind that Kris actually didn't do anything!))

(("Jaquin should have come to speak directly to her as a house-mate, even if he didn't happen to know her name, not go to a Slytherin and ask him to deliever the message." - I modifyed my post but even before I didn't say they knew each other. Even though they should at least no each others faces as they have studied and been in the same house together for 5 years. AS for the professor - I understand and am sorry for interrupting your class, professor Hagrid. But IDan'as character has developed itself in big part and ot paying any attention to that comment would have been completely OOC for her. Besides that comment was chauvinistic! I know Dana will probably get a detention and some points taken, or send her to Dumbeldore to get punished or whatever you decide to do - I am prepared for it. I just hope the professor is fair - it takes two to start and to be in an arguement. I left all decisions up to you Jaquin. I won't argue when you say Dana's punch barely touched his clothes. Kris admired the movement Dana used to deliver the punch - he didn't look nor say whether it actually hit or not. It is all up to you. And once again - sorry, to anyone my posts disturbed, they were only meant for good fun. And all decisions are left to you. Except for the fact that Dana and Kris both left.))
