Cassandra walked around the grounds on the beautiful snowy day. It was too bad it was really cold, or else someone other than the Slytherins she saw across the way would be out. She didn't see many people, but she hoped someone she could talk to would stumble along at any minute. She watched the Slytherins, who obviously had not noticed her yet since they had not thrown a dirty reply or jinx at her, talk and probably hatch out there next dastardly plan. She really hoped she wouldn't be the victim this time.
Unless, they were the victims this time.........
Cassandra saw a large snow drift over to her left, and she quickly found a good place to hide behind it where the couldn't see her. While watching the Slytherins she made a good size snowball, and waited for the best opportunity.
Wham! It hit one the Slytherin's in the back of the head. She quickly ducked behind the snowbank as the one hit turned around to look.

Dana was walking back towards the castle after helping her cousin in a clearing in the Forbidden forest. Her cousin had headed to Hogsmeade once again to some date and Dana was whistling some tune and enjoying the great weather. The Slytherins that seemed to be the first ones out didn’t bother her – some had met Dana’s hexes and stayed clear, some had been put into their place by Dana’s cousin, who was a Slytherin as well.
One of the stupider bullies was hit in the back of his head by a younger girl, who ducked behind a snow-bank as the bully turned around. Dana grinned as the Slytherin was confused as who had thrown the ball, but grunted and turning around stalked away. Laughing out loudly Dana made her way to the snow-bank the girl had hid behind and leaned one of her hands in a beige leather-glove on it: “Just wanted to say that it was a nice shot. He’s is an idiot and a bully, so I just wanted to congratulate you!”
Dana looked at the girl and smiled reaching out her right hand: “It was fantastic to see that snow-ball hitting him. I’m Dana.”
Cassandra blushed as the older girl held out her hand. " Oh, Thank you. I'm Cassandra.," she reached out for the girls hand, " I just get so sick of them picking on other people at this school. I've never met such a large group of bullies. I decided it was my turn to get the first shot." She smiled at the girl. " Besides, it's nice to feel like your on top of things every once in a while."
Cassandra smiled to herself. It was great to meet new people, even if she was throwing a snowball in the back of a Slytherin's head. However, she was really hoping they hadn't seen here. She would never live it down.
" Where you coming back from Hogsmeade? I've never been before. It has always scared me a little to go into the city. I'm terribly afraid I'll get lost and not get back to school in tim. I have no sense direction at all. Heck, most days I'm lost trying to get from class to class. Yesterday, I wondered the halls aimlessly trying to find Potions," Cassandra stopped herself. Once again she found herself giving out her life story to someone who probably did not want to hear it.

“I know what you mean. I’ve ran into them as well, but they have learned I have a quick wand and nasty hexes. As well as a cousin here, who would make them pay for touching me even more harshly, than I myself would retaliate,” Dana answered to Cassandra, leaning on the snow-bank, “So they have learned to stay clear of me and they draw back a little from torturing first and second years when I’m around as well.”
“And no – I was in the Forbidden Forest. The dangerous creatures don’t come to the edge, so I sometimes meet with my cousin there and we practice spells together or just talk. We meet in a clearing there, but since we are both fifth years already, we know how to get rid of those animals who dare to venture this far out. Besides my cousin has an almost magical contact with animals and Dumbeldore knows that we meet there sometimes,” Dana explained nodding to the line of trees in the distance, which marked the beginning of the Forbidden Forest.
“As for Hogsmeade? Yeah, I was worried about the same things the first time. I love it know though and know my way around there. We could go together some day and I could show you around,” Dana offered with a smile bowing and picking up a handful of snow, starting to form it into a snow-ball, “I need to go shopping for a new dress anyway.”
" THat would be so awesome!" Cassandra exclaimed. Nearly hugging the girl, and just absolutley confounded that this older girl had taken an interest in her. It was hard to make friends with the students in her grade let alone someone outside her house. " I would never think of going to forest. I hear about so many nasty things that could happen down there. There was rumor that there were centaurs down there that really hated people. I really wish I brave enough to go down there. I mean, I am a Gryffindor after all and sometimes I just don't live up to what it really means to be in my house," Cassandra said kind of sadly as she patted together another snowball to make aim at the group of Slytherins again.
" Do you ever wonder if you were put in the wrong house? I mean, I always wonder, because sometimes I don't feel like I belong where I supposodly belong, you know? But, you know, two years ago, I knew I would of never of dared to chuch a snowball at a Slytherin," she said as she took aim and fired at them once again.

Dana smiled at Cassandra and hurled her own snow-ball towards the Slytherins as well. “Yes, there are centaurs in the forest, but they stay deep in the forest. We stay near the edge – none of the more dangerous creatures come here. We have only encountered some boggarts and some even weaker creatures,” Dana smiled shrugging and bowing to start making a new snow-ball, “As for my house. Bravery is different for everyone – just because you haven’t had to stare Voldemort in the eye, doesn’t mean you aren’t brave. But the strength and courage is here,” Dana pointed to where Cassandra’s heart was and smiled, “And I think that when the need arises it will show.”
“Was I sorted correctly. I’m nor sure really. Well, Gryffindor wouldn’t suit me, as I certainly aren’t the most noble nor brave one out there. Hufflepuff is out of my character as well. The Sorting Hat did ponder about Slytherin for a moment, but decided on Ravenclaw rather quickly. I am happy with my house though,” Dana replied after thinking about the answer for some time, “So I think I was sorted more or less correctly.”
Dana finished her snow-ball and sent it flying once again watching contently as it hit some Slytherin, who had just turned around, in the face: “And it certainly will help me, when I’m graduated and my grand-parents pull back from the family business, leaving it to me.”
((ooc – do you want to start a post over at Hogsmeade as well? I can start it if you want, or you can do it. Your choice! ;D))

( OOC- I'll start it. It's no problem.)
Cassandra pondered over the girl's words. " I guess your right. It's kind of hard to measure bravery when you've got a guy like Harry Potter in your house. Everyone one who's anyone has said ' Did you hear about Harry Potter and how he......' It seems like everyone is trying to live up to what he has done sometimes."
Cassandra bent over to pick up another snowball still not entirely convinced about the older girl's answer to her question. The question about house placement would probably never be answered. However, she just remembered the sorting hat pondering in her ear while she sat there for what seemed like forever. And then she gets put in the house known for bravery when she hasn't done a braved deed in her life. It was still a question that haunted her to this day.
She aimed another snowball at the Slytherin's and chucked.

Dana chuckled moving to lean comfortable on the snow-bank, which seemed a bit frozen, as it supported her weight. It was probably part of the ruins from one of the snow-castles some first years had made the previous evening. “Well, the Wonder-child is powerful. Damned lucky – pardon my expression – as well,” Dana grinned at Cassandra thoughtfully making a snow-ball in her hands, “Don’t get me wrong – it must be tough, all the things he’s been through, and I doubt I even know half of it. But I sometimes wonder if he isn’t bored to death or close to hexing the next person who stares at him in awe. But I do respect him a lot. Not enough to become a part of his fan-club and I haven’t really spoken with him either. But he deserves respect.”
Dana smoothed her snow-ball: “And I never known how to refer to him. I mean I don’t know him, so I can’t really call him ‘Harry’. And if I call him ‘Potter’ I remind myself of Snape. And the-boy-who-lived does sound weird to my ears.”
Dana smirked and sent her snow-ball flying once again watching contently as it hit it’s target: “But for some reason I think you are sorted correctly. I can’t really say why, but it’s just a feeling I have. And the Sorting Hat has rarely ever been wrong.”
" You know, speaking of Harry Potter, I saw some girls in our common room one day nearly die at just seeing him. It was quite funny. THey were swooning at his mere presence. I just kind of stared at him as he left and they were like ' Aren't you so in love with Harry Potter? and I was like 'No.' They seemed absoulutely aghasted at the thought," Cassandra chuckled at the thought. She just remembered those second years with their mouths hanging open at the mere thought that someone didn't think Harry Potter was a regular Charles Atlas.
She threw the next snowball watching the Slytherin's they were terrorizing trying to find what direction they were coming from. It almost seemed like they were giving since it looked like they were about to make a run to the castle.
"Hmmm, you would think they would of figured out where the snowballs were coming from by now? I didn't really think they were that dense."

“I know what you mean. And I don’t get it. No offence to the guy – he doesn’t look bad at all, but he is just a human! Why worship him and giggle and stalk him everywhere he goes. I’m actually wondering how much would it take before he actually hexed one of those silly girls,” Dana answered with a broad grin – not very many people outside Slytherin seemed to share her opinion. And in some younger Slytherins didn’t.
“Thank you for proving there are still more sane people in the world!” Dana winked at Cassandra happily, “You just came close to be being one of my personal heroes. Nah, I wouldn’t want another hero. How about a good friend instead?”
Dana brushed her gloves out of snow and glanced at the Slytherins: “Yeah. A lot of them seem really dense. Especially the younger years. The seventh, sixth and fifth years have their fair share of brains, but most of the younger ones – please! How thick can you get? There are exceptions certainly, but…” Dana rolled her eyes annoyedly and snickered as the Slytherins seemed to retreat a bit.

Aila was walking on the school grounds when she saw a group of Slytherins being assaulted by snowballs coming from somewhere. The Slytherins were trying to figure out, who was brave enough to throw snowballs at them, but from what Aila could see, they weren't doing very good progress.
She smiled to herself and tried to find the source of the snow herself. The snowballs were being thrown from behind a large snow drift, and Aila decided to go check it out. She made a large circle so as not to be spotted by the Slytherins - who knows, maybe they would decide to retaliate on her?
Whe she finally found the two girls chatting and casually bombarding the Slytherins, she couldn't restrain a laugh. Aila picked up a snowball herself and threw it at the girls, not quite hitting them, but attracting their attention. Before they could do anything, she skipped nearer and called cheerfully.
"Hi! Having fun with those Slytherins? I like the way you have kept yourselves hidden - those woolheads couldn't figure anything out if their lives depended on it. Serves them right, they think they are better than others, always bullying and teasing. Ugh, they even got me several times. Mind if I join you?" she asked with a smile. "Oh, and I'm Aila."

Dana looked up as a snow-ball hit the ground near her and smiled at the girl who had just approached them. “Sure, the more the merrier. Come on and join us,” Dana glanced over her shoulder and tossed a snow-ball she had finished towards them before continuing, “Not all Slytherins are bullies and bad, but those guys over there sure deserve it.”
Dana smiled picking up some more snow and started to form it between her hands once again: “I’m Dana by the way. And this is Cassandra. I couldn’t help but to forge an alliance and perhaps friendship with her after seeing her pelting the Slyths with snow. Got to love that!”
"Nice to meet you," Aila said gleefully as she tossed a snowball over to the Slyths. One of them was hit right on top of his head, he looked up, as if he believed it was snowing such large clumps.
Aila giggled as she saw that. Hogwarts was great fun sometimes, especially when others shared it. She continued throwing the snow for some time.
"So, what have you been up to?" She took another look at the Slyths milling about in one place. "I think we may soon get through to them. Maybe we should find another spot?"

“We have thrown snow-balls at the Slytherins, talked a little. The last topics were the boy-wonder, why we were sorted where we were and made plans to go shopping together in Hogsmeade,” Dana named some of the things they had talked about as she hopped to sit on the snow-bank, shivered and pulled her cloak closer to her body. Dana had never been very fond of cold and the winter in Britain didn’t suit her. She would have much preferred the softer and nicer weather in Italy, Spain or France.
Noticing the lace of her boot had became un-done, Dana pulled her leg up to the bank and pulling her gloves off, started to tie it again: “So we have already talked about why were are in Ravenclaw and Gryffindor – Cassy – mind if I call you that? Or do you have some certain nickname or would you like it, if I used your full name? Anyway we already established that Cassandra is brave and I’m helplessly addicted to book sand luckily have a good enough memory to make some use to it in classes.. Care to share why Hufflepuff was chosen for you?”

Post by Pyro Blackfire S5 on Feb 1, 2005 18:56:33 GMT
*Pyro walked about the corriders on the second floor. He was bored and he was looking for something to keep him occupied. He passed by a window and saw some familiar robes. He looked down and noticed it was a gang of fellow slytherins. He didnt like this group to much. They thought they were better than everyone.
From out of nowhere there came a snowball and hit the leader of the group in the head. He spun around and searched for the assailent. Pyro traced the ball and noticed a girl about his age hiding behind a snowbank..he grinned..Even though she looked like a Gryffindor. It was rare for him to hate a slytherin over a gryffindor, but this group he absulutly detested this group.
He continued to watch as the group moved away and another girl, this one older, approached the younger one. She looked familiar. He took him a moment, but than he recognized her as Dana, a girl he had met in the lounge. He suddenly got an idea. he ran down the hall and found a staircase..he entered the first floor and made his way to the grounds.
Another girl had joined them now. he ducked behind a tree and away from view. he quietly made 3 snowballs and set them down on the ground*
"Wingardium Leviosa" He whispered
The three balls rose into the air, pyro piloted them high up into the air and made them float over the 3 girls' heads. He than let them drop onto their heads. He held in his laughter as he ducked back behind the tree..he gave the girls a minuet than called out
"hey come on Dana..You should be more attuned to your sorroundings..Never know when a snowball might hit ya"
*He steped out from behind the tree and grinned at them*

Dana yelped as a snow-ball hit her in the back of the head and spun around to catch where it had came from. The direction had been wrong, so it obviously hadn’t been the Slytherin gang. Dana had just started skimming the trees, when Pyro appeared from behind one – they had met in the lounge, as although Pyro had a quick temper from time of the time, he was a rather alright guy.
“You know, Pyro, you are right,” Dana answered with a sweet voice and an innocent grin as she sent the snow-ball she had been carrying flying towards Pyro with a grin. Dana knew that he wouldn’t tell about them to the the Slytherin gang, or he wouldn’t have approached them.
Laughing Dana muttered a quiet spell, sending a snow-ball flying towards Pyro from behind him as well, which managed to hit his back. “Come on over. Meet Cassandra and Aila. Aila, Cassandra – meet Pyro,” Dana invited grinning towards Pyro. She was in great mood and not much could ruin it.

*Pyro grinned, than yelped slightly and managed to duck under the thrown snowball..He stood up straight and looked at dana*
"not much on ai....Oof!"
*He didnt see the snowball from behind and it struck him neatly between the shoulder blades, sending him a stumbling step foreward. He nearly fell in the snow but he managed to keep his feet..he steadied himself. 'Guess we're even' he thought. Shrugging he made his way over to them*
"hey, hows it goin?"

“Nicely. Do I have to recite the topics we have gone over again?” Dana asked with a grin smiling happily, “Well, to cut a long story short we agreed on going shopping with Cassandra, talked about why we were sorted to the house we are in and then discussed the boy-wonder and how he manages to not hex his fan-club.” Dana thought for a moment:” Yep, that about sums most of it up.”
“And payback’s great isn’t it? At least we’re even now,” Dana added with a sly wink. Maybe she did have a liot of Slytherin in her, Dana thought vaguely. Or were her friends and relatives there a bad influence. “Not much is up yet though. Except now we have one more person to supply us with ideas. The bullies are way too thick to be amusing for very long,” Dana shrugged swinging her legs lightly and scraping some snow to form a new snow-ball still.

Cassandra couldn't believe the nerve of this guy. She brushed the snow out of her hair and turned around to look at him dead on. A Slytherin! Oh, no, this was unacceptable.
" Cassie or Cass is fine Dana. Most of my family and friends call me that."
" Pyro, like in fire, right?" Cassandra said a bit icily. He had to be the most obstreperous person she had ever met! Cassandra tried to keep her temper. However, she did finally find him oddly cute even though he had a big head. Pyro, how cliche!
" Yeah, I guess you did get your payback," Cassandra said a spell over another snowball and made it float sweetly over to the group of Slytherins. Then, it flopped on top of their heads with a huge whack!
Oh, the war is on with this guy! I will win! thought Cassandra.

Dana smiled at Cassie, as she said it would be fine, if Dana called her Cassie: “Cassie. I like it.”
Dana glanced between Pyro and Cassie – she had noticed the flash of irritation and determination not to let Pyro get an upper hand in a verbal spat in Cassie’s eyes. Knowing Pyro wouldn’t back down either Dana figured that it might turn out to be quite interesting. Settling herself into a more comfortable position Dana was ready to take the sharp edge off from any insulting comment that might be sent by either.
Dana finished the snow-ball she had been making and calmly placed it next to her, keeping one of her hands protectively over it: “So know that we are in a group of four and one member from each house. Anybody have any bright ideas for something fun?”
Dana positioned herself to sit on the snow bank, pulling one leg up to her, while letting the other one dangle down from the side. Deciding the opportunity was too good to waste Dana sent the snow-ball flying towards the Slytherins again.
Looking a bit down to the others Dana grinned mischievously and pushed some snow towards them as well, which hit all three on their heads and shoulders.
