Dillion had insisted upon the opening of the new student lounge that they go over. Apparently, the twin had managed to get himself hooked onto Wizard Chess the year before, and since he didn't have a board of his own, the thought that there was a pile of them just waiting was more than his brother could stand. It turned to be an entertaining game. Dillion had little talent when it came to chess, mainly because he grew bored so easily. The part that he had become obsessed with, was the smashing.
After a rather brutal game Dillion managed to disapear, leaving him to clean up after the mess, not that he minded. The room was still rather empy, as the students had yet to make their visits there regular, and it was nice to have a few quiet moments when the school year was at its height.

((ok I deleted the other post and I'm posting this now... sorry about the confusion...))
Kiyla walked into the student lounge. She had never been in here before and she figured now was as good a time as any. She walked in to see Payton cleaning up what looked like a game of Wizards Chess. She smiled to herself and walked over to him.
"Hey, Payton. What happened here?" She asked him smiling. Lately she and Payton hadn't talked. Kiyla had been mad at him but she was glad that she got the chance to talk to him today. She sort of missed him.. yet she was still unsure about him.

Hearing a familiar voice he looked up to see Kiyla and flashed her a friendly smile. It seemed when they first met that they ran into one another everywhere, yet since the ball, he had hardly managed to see her, even in passing.
"Kiyla"
He laughed slightly, looking down at the few remaining chess pieces, and using the reparing charm to repair the damages.
"Dillion? Need I say more?"

Kiyla raised an eyebrow at Payton.
"No you needn't say more." She said with a small hesitant grin.
"So who was slaugtered? You or Dillion?" Kiyla asked Payton with another raised eyebrow.

He laughed at her question, and looked down at the finally cleaned up game. When Dillion played, he prefered to take the make-the-most-mess route, instead of trying to actually going for any sort of realistic approch.
"Oh, I think there was an equal amount of slaughter on both sides."
Grinning slight, he leaned back in his chair and used one of his legs to kick the chair on the other side of the small chess table out so she could sit down.
"So, how have you been? We haven't talked to a while."

Kiyla laughed as she looked at the clean chessboard.
"I bet." She said soflty. She took a seat in the chair as Payton asked her how she was doing. She bit her bottom lip softly. How was she doing? She wondered if he knew about what happened to Ivy but she decided that if Ivy wanted him to know he would.
"I've been... have you been avoiding me lately?" Kiyla asked Payton her eyes twinkling curiously.

He looked a bit suprised at her question. He hadn't even considered that she might think that. Things had been rather busy since the ball, and he had hardly managed more than a passing smile, but avoiding?
"Of course not. I'm hurt that you would think that."
He smiled, letting her know that the latter of his reply was meant to be lighthearted--he never was good at being serious about situations.

Kiyla shrugged. She didn't really think that but she thought maybe he was.
"Oh ok. Just checking." She said with a small smile.
"So what are you going to be up to during the holidays?" Kiyla asked Payton curiously.

He laughed, giving his eyebrows a quick lift before his expression settled into an easy going smile.
"With a family as big as mine in a city as big as London? I am off to do family things, and then probably spend a few nights in the clubs. I have to get it all out of my system before I have to come back here and behave myself again"

Kiyla laughed.
"Always having and needing to behave yourself I see," Kiyla said with her eyes twinkling, "but then sometimes I wonder if Dillion is the evil twin. It's hard to guess seeing as you aren't such an angel yourself."

He laughed again, trying to picture Dillion as evil, and then trying to see him as the angle out of the two of them. It was an entertaining thought.
"I think Dill and I came to an agreement at birth, we would split the good and evil geans fifty fifty"
He flashed her a bright smile before his eyebrows raised, his focus still on her.
"You are all angel though, right?"

Kiyla laughed at Payton's response.
"Me... all angel? See that's a toughy..." Kiyla said thoughtfully.
"Well, what do you think?" Kiyla asked Payton with a raised eyebrow. She wondered what he would think. Kiyla was known, by those who were her friends, to be a goody goody.

Leaning back comfortably against the padded back of the chair, he stroked his chin as if he was in deep thought. Thought, there was still a rather pleased smile on his face, and his eyebrows had yet to return to their normal position.
"Angel...yes, definatly an angel"

Kiyla smiled at Payton's response. Somehow she knew he would say that.
"Ah, I bet you think that. Sometimes, an angel falls though. You know what they become then? A fallen angel. Do you think that will happen with me?" Kiyla asked Payton tilting her head to the side slightly.

He once again kept up the act that he was deep in thought--as if hte idea of her falling from her angel status was something that took great consideration. Of course, in true Payton stype, he was really trying to remember where he left his ever flavor beans, but she didn't have to know that.
"Nope, your not going to fall. Too many people around to catch you"

Kiyla raised an eyebrow. She was sort of shocked he said that to her.
"Too many to catch me? Now.. would you be one of them?" Kiyla asked him with a hint of a smile. She wanted to let him know that she wasn't entirely serious.

He smiled, his eyebrows lifting slightly as she gave her a slight shrug.
"Now what kind of friend would I be if I didn't"
They had of course never quite defined thier relationship, and he knew that at some point they had to, but he always hated that aspect of things. He prefered to just assume the friendship role. That was always a good place to be.

Kiyla laughed lightly. Her thoughts went to Ivy and her smile sort of faded. She knew how much Ivy didn't like Payton. She wondered why, though. Ivy hadn't said much about Payton... Kiyla found that odd...
"Payton, have you seen Ivy around lately?" Kiyla asked Payton curiously. She knew herself that Ivy didn't enjoy Payton being around her but she didn't know if Payton knew that.

He was quiet for a moment--a rather rare occasion for him. He had seen Ivy, in fact that had a rather...charming...conversation not long after the ball, where she had made her feelings towards him strikingly clear.
"Actually yes...we had an, um, intresting talk a few days ago"

Kiyla looked at Payton in shock. She was not expecting that reply at all. She bit her bottom lip slightly without even noticing it. She looked down at her hands and began to think piecing the pieces together.
'It makes sense. That one night when Ivy came late... she seemed annoyed. She didn't even look at me... I wonder... but why would she do it without telling... oh right... because i would be this way...' Kiyla thought to herself. She looked up at Payton and sighed.
"I had no idea. I hope she didn't say anything too... " Kiyla began to say but she didn't know the word she wanted to put there. She didn't even know what she wanted to say. She looked at Payton no sure of how to feel.
