Ivy made her way down to the Great Hall, which was as usual bedecked with Halloween decorations. She smiled. Some things didn't change.
Taking a deep breath, she entered the huge space, which was full of people and noise. She didn't particularly like noisy places, but she'd promised her friends she'd come. In a way she still wondered why.
She looked around for Jordan, hoping that she would come to rescue her soon. For the moment she was just as lonely as she had anticipated.

Jordan left Dillion to his own and wandered around the hall looking for Ivy. She had promised she would hang out with her at the ball, and Jordan was looking forward to it.
"Ivy!" She yelled over the music when she spotted her friend. She ran to the girl and smiled widely.
"Having fun?" She asked as she approached.

Ivy smiled when she spotted Jordan heading towards her.
"Having fun?" she repeated. "Well, I've only just arrived... so not much yet. Any ideas?"
Maybe the ball wouldn't be as bad as she had expected. A part of her had doubted whether Jordan would turn up. She scolded it now and pushed it away deep inside her.

Jordan nodded knowingly and looked around.
"Well, there is the ever so popular dancing. Or we could get something to eat, or find some one else to talk to, or look at all the cute...boys." Jordan said, slowing down as one walked by. She giggled and turned back to Ivy.
"You must excuse my behavior, that is what happens when you drink way too much pumpkin juice, i suppose." Jordan smiled.

Ivy smiled at Jordan. She was starting to feel light-hearted too, something that very rarely happened.
"Well, you're my guru this evening on how to be sociable," she said, "so which of those is most preferable?"
She turned to Jordan, still smiling.

Jordan giggled.
"Guru, I like that word. Okay, so...hmm well I'm rather thirsty, but I don't think I need anymore pumpkin juice. Do you want something to drink?" She asked with a smile as she fiddled with a doll on her costume. They were giving her too much trouble.
"Oi vey." She finally said, taking out her wand and tappingher head. The dolls unstuck themselves from her and she looked up, smiling.
"Better." She said as she flicked her wand and the dolls went flying through the air and landed on an empty table.

Ivy looked after the dolls as they flew to a nearby table. Jordan had spent quite a while sticking them to herself but still...
"OK, I'll have something to drink, but which is the most popular drink this evening. And should I decline if you say you won't have anything to drink?"
Ivy looked at Jordan, her eyes twinkling, feeling a good deal better than she had been over the last few days.

Jordan nodded approvingly as the dolls stayed at the table and then turned to Ivy.
"Pumpkin juice is good! Although, it does do some things to ya." Jordan answered with a smile.
"And no, just because I say I don't want anymore Pumpkin Juice, doesnt mean you have to. I mean, if you're thirsty your're thirsty right?" Jordan asked as she fiddled with her bracelet. It was something she did subconsciously, she hoped it didn't bug Ivy, she knew it bugged others when she fiddled with something while having a conversation with them.

Ivy smiled, knowing full well she didn't like pumpkin juice but... oh well. Her eyes lingered for a moment on Jordan's hands, fiddling with her bracelet, and thought of what her mother would say. On the other hand, that showed that she had done that sort of thing plenty of times herself.
She walked to a table and took some. She drunk a bit and wrinkled her nose.
"Yuk!" she said, looking at Jordan with a grin on her face. "Wait, was I not supposed to say that?"

Jordan laughed as Ivy took a drink of Pumpkin Juice, and wrinkled her nose.
"Nah, you can say that. It's your opinion, right? So speak it." Jordan answered with a nod. She believed in free speech. if you believe in something, don't hide it. Let people know. But then again, JOrdan was that type of outspoken character.
"Hmm, what else is there to- Butterbeer! Butterbeer is delicous! Do you like butterbeer?" Jordan asked, a girlish giggle in her voice.

"Yeah, I like Butterbeer," Ivy said smiling, wondering why Jordan had just given a girlish giggle. Well, it didn't matter. Just wasn't Ivy's sort of character.
Ivy took some Butterbeer and drank it, licking her lips.
"Delicious!" she said. "But I feel bad standing here with you watching me drink and you not drinking anything yourself. Kinda like a glutton." Ivy smiled.
"OK, so we've stood around for a while. Now what?" Ivy asked, grinning at Jordan.

Jordan watched Ivy drink butterbeer, and then smiled when she said she felt bad doing it in front of her. Jordan waved it away with her hand as if the thought was an object.
"It's fine! I'm not thirsty anyway. Hmm what to do now." Jordan said as she tapped her index finger on her chin. She shrugged and smiled.
"What do you feel like doing?" She asked, curious.

((hope you don't mind me joining in))
Kiyla had been hanging with Payton. He went over to another girl so she decided she might as well go hang with her best friend like she said she would.
She walked around when she spotted her and Jordan.
"Hey, guys!" She said happily. "Having fun?" She said with one eye brow raised.

"Loads! For people who have nothing to do anyway." Jordan answered as Kiyla approached them. Kiyla actually looked like an actualy Gypsy. Jordan smiled at the necklace around her neck.
"How about you? Is Payton all you thought, and so much more? Or do you have your eye on someone else tonight?" Jordan asked with teasing smile.

Kiyla smiled and bit her lip. She looked around the room then turned back to Jordan.
"Well, he's... alright..." She said looking at Ivy with a look that said you-were-right-about-somethings. "But i think i may have my eye out for another.. person..." Kiyla said smiling with a mysterious twinkle in her eyes.

Jordan raised an eyebrow at Kiyla and said,
"Really? Who now?" She smiled with innocence and looked at her friend, hoping she would tell her everything there was to know.

Kiyla laughed nervously and said, "Well, um.. I don't know.. It's kinda..." She said again covering her face with her hands... or scarves rather.
"Well, Ivy met him... before..." Kiyla said still covered by her scarves.

Jordan giggled as she grabbed Kiyla's hands and lowered them from her face. Her eyes were sparkling with curiousity and she probably looked ready to burst.
"Whoooooo?" Jordan asked, really really wanting to know.

Kiyla giggled and said, "Well do you know Brett?"
She covered her face again embarrassed that she actually said his name.

"Brett...Brett...Brett....Brett Thompson? Fifth year Brett?" Jordan asked, with a small smile.
"I know of him. But I don't know him personally. He seems cool though." Jordan said.
"So that's who, huh? When did you meet him?" She asked.
