The first week back from Winter Break found the castle covered in deep white snow. As students bundled up with extra layers and scurried about the castle to classes most dared not venture outside unless forced to. Today was Saturday and a rather chilly one as well. Despite the frigid temperature numerous students poured out of the main castle entrance much like ants leaving an anthill. They all followed the same path too, straight, then a right turn, down the hill and into the Quidditch Stadium. Even with heavy cloud covering and a light snow fall the students religiously took their spots in the stadium that was quickly filling up.
It was a warm in Madam Hooch’s office as she looked out her window to the pitch, Hagrid and some of his students had done a fine job removing the snow from the pitch itself, but now huge piles of snow now surrounded the field. For today’s match, the north stands had been decorated with blue and bronze banners and tapestries, while the south stands were decked out in silver and green. As she exited her office with a trunk behind her, an icy gale blew across the lake rustling the entire stadium, poor Quidditch conditions indeed she noted. Moving the trunk to the center of the pitch she set it down and opened it up inspected the four balls inside. Confident that each was in perfect condition she shut the trunk and watched as the stands slowly began to fill up and in quick time the players were in the sky for their warm ups.
(( Game will begin Monday morning! Until then you may post warming up. Any funny business will be met with penalty shots for the other team! ))

Catalina arrived in the locker room bundled up from head to toe. Only her two eyes were visible under her bundled robes and scarves but she would soon have to lose the extra layers in order to play well. Under a couple of sweaters Catalina had her Quidditch uniform on and was soon ready to play. One by one the rest of her team joined her in the warm locker room. While she tightened her boots she started to speak, “OK, t’is Slytherin ye kno? Be careful out t’ere, Savannah and Jaquin ye both haf’ ter play really well today, keep te’ bludgers off us. Mind yerself out t’ere too, all of ye, dun get suckered into any penalties, t’ey play dirty but dun mind it, keep yer cool ye kno? We can win if we play our game, keep te Quaffle moving.” Catalina then stood up and grabbed her wand and hit herself with a few last minute warmth charms, they’d keep her warm, at least warm enough for most the game, she just hoped the game didn’t last for hours. Pulling on her gloves and purple goggles, she walked to the doorway and looked out, the stands were filling up despite the poor weather. As much as she loved Quidditch, there was no way Catalina would be in the stands on a day like this, she’d be back in the Common Room by the fire.
“OK t’en, les’ go!” Catalina said as she mounted her broom and zoomed out into the dreary winter day. Circling the pitch a few times she soon stopped and flew over to Jasmine, “Aye, Jasmine, ye ready?”

Jasmine sat on a bench in the locker room. She was covered from head to toe in warm clothes but she knew that it wouldn’t be enough. Taking deep breaths she listened to Cat and felt sick to hers stomach. It was her first Quidditch game ever and she couldn’t help but be even more nervous. Taking other deep breaths she laced up her shoes and pulled her hair into a tight pony tail and looked at her other team mates that seemed to be all clam. Jasmine had watched the games Slytherins played and it was quite butrial and very tricky. Pulling her dark hair into a tighter pony tail she pulled on her goggles and gloves and took more deep breaths. Lana had told her to not be nervous in there letters and that she will do just great. But what if she didn’t and they lost because of her. Jasmine felt panic rush through her and wished that Vanessa could be there to make her feel better. Vanessa was a fifth year Hufflepuff who also played on the reserve team and was Jasmine closet friend next to Kelsey and Molly.
Jasmine mounted her broom and flew out into the harsh cold weather. She shivered as she flew around the pit twice behind the other two Chasers. The wind was blowing and stung Jasmine face making it all red. Ignoring the wind she continued to fly around the pitched and stopped in the center and looked quite frighten. Grabbing her broom tight she started to shake and looked up at as everyone was continuing to warm up. Taking another deep breath Jasmine noticed Cat come up to her and she tired to smile but nothing happen. Sighing she looked at Cat, "Umm....... Yes I am." Jasmine told her with smile and felt some what better.

((Its Jaquin, not Perseus. I know it gets confusing ;D ))
Jaquin stood on the battlements of Ravenclaw Tower, overlooking the snow covered grounds. It was the second match of the season. They had beaten Hufflepuff outright before Winter Vacation and now they were faced with a very skilled and formidable Slytherin team. They had been impregnable in the previous game with Hufflepuff, not only because of their greater experience, but also because of their skill. He reminisced the game very well and how hard it had been for Hufflepuff. However, this game would be different; it would be much harder to beat the Slytherin team. The winds suddenly blew with great ferocity and Jaquin has nearly unbalanced. Billowing, grey clouds of melancholy spread across the sky. Jaquin did not like the condition of the weather at all. The trees rippled and rustled as a strong gale began to blow. Their penumbrae were obscured by the lack of sunlight. A light snow began to fall and soon the stadium would be full of it. Hoping that the weather would ameliorate once he got down, Jaquin went back into his dormitory and put on his Ravenclaw Quidditch uniform.
However, Jaquin was severely dissapointed as he exited the Castle. The temperature beginning to drop and the winds and snow were not relenting. He entered the Ravenclaw lockers to find Catalina and the rest of the team already there. Sitting down, Jaquin listened to Catalina talk as he grasped his newly acquired Firebolt in his hand. Once she was done, Jaquin walked out onto the pitch and mounted his Firebolt, launching himelf into the air with prodigious speed and twirling his beater's bat.

*Pyro strode across the grounds toward the lockerroom. He wore his quidditch robes and a cloak. He didnt mind the cold, he enjoyed it. It helped to calm his nerves. It was his first quidditch match and he was the youngest starter on the team.
By the time he reached the locker room his nose and cheeks were bright red from the cold. He steped in and noticed that some of his teammates were already there. He shrugged off his cloak and pulled out his broom. He walked over and joined his teammates and sat down on the bench. Taking deep breaths to try and quench the butterflies in his stomach.*

Reaching the locker room, Jersey had felt her hands going numb. She had idiotically forgotten her gloves back at the dormintory. Her cheeks, for sure, were flushed and her hair had been blown everywhere by the rush of the wind. Jersey opened the door and immediately a rush of warmer air blew towards her. Feeling uncomfortable from the change in temperature, Jersey immediately closed the door behind her and smiled,"What a way to have your first game of the season." she said sarcastically speaking.
Walking over to a bench, Jersey began to displace of her lightly colored green scarf, and the 2 sweaters, which she had worn over top of her green robe. Taking them off, Jersey looked around the room to notice she had arrived early. Placing her things inside of a vaccant locker, which Jersey had proclaimed as hers, she immediately went back to the bench and began preparing herself for such a big game. Her stomach, which lacked breakfast began to grumble loudly. Jersey knew then and there what a mistake it was to not eat. However, behind her hungriness, was a million and one butterflies fluttering around, and she became uneasy.
It was Jersey's first match and she didn't know what to expect. From practicing, of course she had known, but a real game, she had only witnessed them in the stands. Hearing, more players come in, Jersey had been trying to forget about the game. She started pacing around the locker room, awaiting for Dawn to give her before the game speech.

Perseus was already up in his dormitory practicing martial arts and ameliorating his physical strength and endurance. The night before, he had bewitched a bludger to attack him and he had been out all night, flying in the darkness, endeavoring to deflect the bludger. He would be ready. Perseus would not desist this time, especially against Ravenclaw, which was a very formidable team. His bat would hit as many bludgers towards the opposing team as possible. The strategy would be to shower them with a plethora of attacks before taking out their seeker. In the last game agains Gryffindor, they had been ahead, but, Potter, whose skill was unrivaled had taken the snitch before Malfoy could reach it.
Perseus went back up to his dormitory and got into his green quidditch uniform, took up his firebolt and beaters bat, and marched out of the Slytherin Common room. The corridors were full of excited voices as the cacaphony built up before the match. He strode through the main doors, down the rolling green hills, and made it into the Slytherin Lockers where Dawn and the rest of the team were. After Dawn's instructions were finished, Perseus strode out onto the cold, frosty field, mounted his firebolt, and soared high up into the air, swinging his bat in anticipation.

Mary could barley contain her excitement as she walked down to the broom shed and took out her brand new Firebolt which she had bought for tryouts. It was extremely cold out but Mary was numb to it feeling only excitement and nervousness.
She continued on to the Quidditch pitch uniform and broom in hand. Mary walked down the worn path in the snow aware that other players had already arrived. This knowledge was only confirmed as she walked into the Slytherin locker room and saw Jersey and Perseus already there. Mary nodded to each of them to excited to speak lest it come out as a shriek.
She then put on her uniform and tried to place warming spells over herself hoping they would last, knowing that she will not be impervious to the cold for long. That complete she placed her things in a locker and her gloves on her hands. Mary then sat on a bench and awaited the pep-speech that comes before the game.

Dawn ran down the hill to the lockers. She was busy getting her gear together as she noticed the players were already arriving at the lockers. Walking into the room filled with her team, she was glad the majority of them were there.
Suiting up, she stood at her locker as her mind began to race. The Ravenclaw teamw as good. Dawn was worried, but really hoped Draco followed through in this game. He didnt show up yet. Thoughts rushed though her head about the past game. He missed the snitch against Potter, and he didnt show up yet. Dawn needed a reserved player for his spot. But she would deal with that later on.
Turning around to her team- she wasnt in the mood for a speach, but she did talk. "Hey, everyone. I just wanted to say Good Luck. Honestly the raven team is good, as well as we are. But we need to knock out major players. All of their players are good. We have some reserves playing this game. Just keep in mind, Get them and get them hard. Show No Mercy. Play To The Best Of Your Ablility- and then we will win." Dawn said as she nodded her head and took her firebolt and sat down and waited for the whistle to sound.

Post by Savannah Johnstone R7 on Jan 17, 2005 4:41:54 GMT
Savannah walked into the Ravenclaw locker room after a few of her teammates and went right to her locker. It was entirely too cold to play Quidditch, yet they had to. There was little to do until the match started so Savannah put her gloves on and off a few times and fiddled with the laces to make them as tight as possible. She half listened to Catalina give her speech, it was the usual sort of talk that she always gave before a match and no one needed to be told to watch out today. Grabbing her bat in her left hand she twirled it around while waiting for the signal to go outside into the cold. As the crowd in the stands grew louder, the time quickly was at hand to get this thing started. Standing up Savannah followed the others outside the locker room and looked up into the grey sky. How the hell was she supposed to see the bludgers in all that?! Throwing her leg over her broom she kicked off into the air and flew over Ravenclaw section and waved at a few friends who she could pick out, she then flew past the Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs but stopped short of the Slytherin section. Looking around the pitch she found her partner Jaquin and flew past him. “Rember what we talked about!” Savannah yelled as she flew past him and over to join Catalina and Jasmine. “It’s freezing!” She called out to the pair as she pulled up next to them, “hey tell Cho to get the stupid snitch fast! I don’t want to be out here any longer than I have to be!”

Post by Vincent Crabbe Jr. on Jan 17, 2005 16:48:17 GMT
Vincent rose early - for him - to be able to get a good breakfast. He was playing Quidditch today, and he would need his strength to hit the Bludgers towards the enemy team with all his might. He was down to the locker rooms in good time and hauling his extra-large green Quidditch robes out of his locker.
Vincent was angry about Slytherin's defeat against Gryffindor. They had deserved to win. Only Potter had snatched back the Gryffindor defeat. It wasn't right. Now he had another chance to prove himself on the Quidditch field. Unfortunately one of the Ravenclaw Beaters was also really good, and Perseus seemed to be friendly with him. Vincent hoped that would not affect Perseus' judgement as to who to aim for.
Vincent stood up to listen to Dawn's speech. She always said things that could be very usueful to a Beater. She didn't need to waste time reassuring people - no real Slytherin would feel afraid when faced by the Quidditch team of another house. Vincent repeated the words in his head - "Get them and get them hard. Show no mercy." He liked it. He smiled almost manically, picking up his broom and walking outside, cracking his bat against his pudgy palm. He was ready for this.

Catalina nodded at both Jasmine and Savannah in turn before turning around to look at the rest of her team. "Oy!?" Catalina exclaimed as she began pointing behind her and counting, four, five. "aye gobdaw!" She had only five players in the air!? Searching the skies she couldn't find the others. Flying back towards her goal post she could make out Jaquin with his bat and Cho circling higher above them. Catalina then dove lower to where the reserve players were warming up. "Aye! Christina! Chaser! Grace! Keeper!" she yelled over to the two and then pointed to the respective places on the pitch. She then flew back up to where Jasmine and Savannah were still waiting and looked over at Madam Hooch to see when they'd start playing.
(( Madam Hooch I'm subbing two players and I'll fix it on the above roster post. Grace is coming in for Dorian, Christina is coming in for Celina. ))

Post by Grace Henfrey R4 on Jan 17, 2005 20:18:34 GMT
It was a rather cold day and Grace was running from towards the locker. Breathing hard she pushed open the doors and slipped on the flour but got right back up and ran towards her locker. Opening it up and slamming it in the other locker she took out her hat, gloves, shoes, and pads. Throwing them down on the ground she closed her locker and sat down on the bench and slipped her feet into the shoes. She was running rather late thanks to her over sleeping. Taking deep breaths she continued to lace up her shoes. After she was finished she put on the rest of her gear and cursed as she couldn’t not find her broom. "Grr" Grace called out and slammed open her locker again. Pulling everything she had stored up in there she looked franticly for her broom. "Oi.... Where is it?" Grace said and stood up and looked around the locker room. Sighing she found it in the corner and picked it up and ran outside into harsh cold weathers.
Taking deep breaths and trying to gain her breathing she sat down on the bench and looked up in the sky. How could they see anything in this kind of weather! Or even play! Grace felt her hands go numb and she rubbed her hands together. She could see her breath in the air and looked up at the sky again. Counting all the players she noticed that some people where missing. A confused look crossed her face and she heard her name being called. Standing up she mounted her broom and took her spot by the rings. "Aye let’s go Ravens! Go Cat! Go Jasmine! Go Christina! Aye and go Savannah and Jaquin. Block those buldgers." Grace called out to her team mates and looked up at the Ravenclaw section. Everyone was cheering loudly and she felt so excited. "Let’s go Ravens! We can do it!" Grace screamed out to everyone and smiled and stood in her spot by the rings.

Madam Hooch walked to the center of the pitch and called for both teams to land. "Now I want a good clean game, NO and I mean absolutely NO funny business up there! Well, on your brooms then!" She then kicked open the chest of balls and released two bludgers, then the tiny snitch. "Alright then, on my whistle. Three! Two! One!" Madam Hooch then tossed the Quaffle high into the air signaling the start of the match.
(( Catalina, you must give me skill points for Christina, until then she gets +0 to all rolls.
Catalina 6+3=9, Dawn 5+3=8
Catalina has the Quaffle! ))

Dawn heard the whistle as she directed her team to the pitch. Mounting her broom the cold brisk wind hit her face. Dawn Flew into the air and towards the center circle.
Hooch talked about the game as she just look at Cat. The quaffle was thrown into the air as Cat caught it flying towards her she went to her side, and tryed to hit the quaffle out of her hands.

Catalina grabbed the Quaffle just before Dawn got it and sped down the pitch. With so little light it was hard to make out any other players but she knew she had to get rid of the Quaffle soon as she approached the goal hoops. Looking around her she saw a blue robed person flying nearby that appeared to be waving to her. Lifting the Quaffle up, Catalina flung the Quaffle as hard as she could over to the other Ravenclaw ( Jasmine), she then turned sharply and flew up higher to get a better view of where everyone was.

Taking her spot in the center she looked down at Madame Hooch who had released the quaffle. As Cat had caught it she shot forward and turned her broom to the other side of her team mate. Once she was in lined she looked at her and held her out in the air. "Cat! Cat! Over here!" Jasmine called out and waited for her to send the quaffle her way and holding her hands out to catch it. In the corner of her eye she saw a Slytherin Chaser came up and she was determined more than ever to catch it.
